I attempted to root my Sprint Galaxy Note 2 using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1956180 and when I started trying to add themes, my google accounts were disappearing, and things started force closing all over the place. I used Super SU to unroot the phone, and it still happened. Then I did a factory reset and it's still happening!! Please help undo whatever I did...
Thanks.
Fac reset ,Wipe system and clear cache and then flash ROM then clear dalvik cache

So recently I had to use a CWM backup because I had soft bricked my phone...after doing so I realized that I had 2 of some apps in the drawer. Both seem to be working fine but I was wondering if there was a way to get rid of them as they just look annoying to me lol, its only the Market, Reader and System apps that seemed to have doubled
Try doing a full wipe including dalvik cache and reinstall the backup
Reboot your phone and they should go away.
Yeah I did that twice after the second one it worked

Happened to me once. That is how I knew a reboot fixed it.
Hi everyone
My tab crashed recently so every single app was forceclosing. Even those in hubs.I had to reinatall all of them.
It seemed like it reset itself. Is that a lnown phenomenon. And do I have to hard reset it or flash it .
Everything works a bit wierdly now.
Samsung Galaxy 8.9 rooted.
Thanks in advance

Most likely it's because of something you did incorrectly.
-Are you using stock firmware or custom ROM? which build?
-what kernel did you use ( How did you root your G-Tab)?
-Did you play around with Titanium Backup or Gemini App Manager (Did you
freeze/block/disable autorun/uninstall any app that you thought it's not important)?
-You mention re-install them after crashing. After you re-install them, did the problem stop for those particular apps?
If you mess around with your system apps using some app manager, then you have to figure out what you did to which app (process) to break it - otherwise, YES you need to flash or do a recovery.
If you didn't mess around with your system apps and it's just happened after you root your G-tab, then YES, please do a factory reset wipe on recovery mode and see if it solves the problem, before you consult to the kernel developer. You may have installed an incompatible root script or kernel to your ROM/firmware.
If re-installing the apps solves the problem, then why not re-install them? It probably is the easiest solution.
Wipe:
- Dalvik Cache (app-cache?)
- Cache (app-specific settings?)
- Data/Factory Reset (everything that wasn't on the device to start with)
From Recovery either one at a time, or all of them if you don't mind loosing everything.

Hello, I'm trying to fix a friends stock Telus GT-I5800L which won't but into Android, I can enter recovery fine and wipe cache partition however when I go to factory reset the process begins but appears to get stuck on formatting data, the bar is moving but it never gets past this step, it's been over an hour now

I am not a master at all these things. As I understand you are getting hung when Recovery/CWM is trying to access data partition. Hence I assume data partition is corrupted.
It may be prudent to flash one of the stock ROMs.
The list of stock ROMs is available on this thread.

Fixed by installing kyrllios' froyo rom.
P.s. xda's posting restrictions hinder helpful feedback. I only wonder how many ppl had useful info to share but said f it when the msg "you can only make one post every 5min"came up.

A friend I work with, his son apparently tried putting music on his tab, it corrupted, so he used kies to try a factory reset and now touch doesn't work.
I put on a cyanogen 4.1.2 rom and it still won't register touch.
The only things I can think of are the kernel may be wrong or there may be an internal damage problem.
I have searched here and google with no luck.
Thanks in advance!
So I'm assuming the Tab is rooted, correct? If so, I'm assuming you have a custom recovery? If so, have you tried formatting (system, data, cache, dalvik, data-media)?

So the unread sms, missed call, and unread gmails count has stopped working. I have tried clearing cache from badger, and the apps. But no luck.
What should I do? Thanks!
If you have root and a backup of the apks you could try uninstalling then reboot restore a backup reboot again and see if that fixes the issue for you. If not force stopping then clearing cache and data with a reboot is all I can think of with out a factory reset. There may be another way but I can't think of one right away

I'll just factory reset. Will that erase what's in storage?
And with my phone being unlocked and rooted on stock firmware, with a few apps frozen, xposed framework, do I need to revert any of that first?
It should prompt me on erasing the SD right? Would it be better to do this in TWRP
To you factory restore you should always back up everything in case things go an unplanned route. Doing things such as wipes in TWRP is the preferred way if that is an option.
