hey everyone
im new to this site, so i cant post in the development forum.
i have a question about remapping - is it possible to remap or customize hard button combinations - for example changing the .kl files so that if key 114(volume down) and key 115(vol up) are pressed together - it causes the screen to lock.
the only reason im asking is that i have a galaxy s3 - the volume rocker is too sensitive. i disabled the vol up and vol down by inserting a # in my devices .kl files, but it would be handy to make a combination hard key press for volume up and down - like the home button+vol up = volume up.
any idea how to do that?

Hi,
My Touch Pro's volume buttons suddently aren't working correctly anymore. When I press one of the buttons, the volume screen is displayed correctly, but when i press the volume up/down key, the volume doesn't go up/down, instead it works as an arrow up/down on the currently running program.
What can I do to restore the volume keys function?

Bump - no one with an idea?
Sounds like you have remapped its function either with a mapping app, tweaker or reg edit. Basically undo what you did to get back to "normal" operation.
I use button remapper to remap keys on my tablet but is there a way to have codes for push and hold any button?
Example: in my tablet Dropad A8 if I push menu I get of course menu but if I push and hold menu I get Keyboard poping up so what I was thinking of is that there different key number for push and hold but dont find it in key codes list.
Is there somewhere a general key code list that include everything.
Now I am maybe wrong and push and hold is generated by kernel and the same button code?
Thank you
Hello,
I have a friend with a Droid 2 and their power button is on the way out. Is there a way to remap the camera button to be the power button?
I have tried editing the "cdma_droid2-keypad.kl" file, but it doesn't seem to change anything...
Code:
key 116 POWER GRAVE
key 211 FOCUS POWER WAKE
key 212 CAMERA POWER WAKE
does this code look correct? I just can't seem to get it to change anything. After pushing the file it doesn't change the button behavior at all.
They are rooted and on CM7
My sprint epic power button failed and I am trying to fix it by moving the function of the power key to the volume up or down key and setting the power key function to null. I have several questions on how to do this.
1. I know that I will have to gain root access but is there a way to do this without installing a custom kernel?
2. If i do end up having to root hte thing how do I get into download mode if the power key is not working?
3. My current /system/usr/keylayout/ has several files in it and am I right to assume that I should be editing the gpio-keys.kl file?
4. Is the 116 button assigned the power button value and 115 volume up?
5. Currently the file looks like this
key 115 VOLUME_UP WAKE
key 114 VOLUME_DOWN WAKE
key 116 POWER WAKE
so if i edited it to something like
key 115 POWER WAKE
key 114 VOLUME_DOWN WAKE
key 116
would it still work? I want to leave the power key funciton blank as it looks like it is stuck and I dont want it to get stuck performing volume up the whole time.
That is all. Any help would be extremely appreciated by me and as you can see I am new to this whole process so if you have any pointers or better ways of doing this I would be extremely grateful for any input.

I make CyanogenMod 10 for my device. Official firmware - android 4.1.1. I have serious problems with the processing of pressing the power button and volume buttons.
When I press the power button, the phone starts to behave inappropriately. It appears when i try to unlock: not always the first time gets unlocked, you need a short press that the attempt was successful. And if you say I want to call the power menu, long clamp the power button and the phone will vibrate like crazy and there is a bunch of copies of windows power menu, you press back - phone go to the bootanimation ...
By the way with the volume button a similar situation! As is well known in the CyanogenMod is feature - volume buttons scroll through tracks. So if I clamp rocker to scroll through the forward / backward, flipping loops and skipped about 5-6 tracks!
In what could be the problem?
Surely someone had anything like that.
Sorry for my bad english)
