"It’s happened to all of us. You’re lying in bed and have screen auto-rotation on, and as soon as you open an up on your home screen, the screen turns sideways. Yes, we know we can turn off the auto-rotation in the settings, or change the position of the phone until the text is upright once more, but we’re a lazy people, in a lazy generation aided by technology, and if there’s an app for something, then problem fixed."

'OrientationLocker' enables you to toggle the Auto-rotate mechanism EASILY.
Each time you change the screen orientation without any need of pulling down the status bar, going to settings or using external application.
Each time you rotate your phone, the lock symbol will appear and by a single click you will be able to choose whether you want your screen to rotate or not !
• DONATION version offers the following features :
Setting the symbol opacity.
the symbol offset.
More options for symbol timeout.
Setting notification icon as transparent.
Please try the free version to make sure everything is as expected.
Note!
This app will NOT lock your screen permanently in any orientation, it uses the Android auto-rotate mechanism in order to control the screen orientation !
The app requests several permissions - it's all for making it more usable ,
I.E. it will ask for Read Phone status and identity for not interrupting while in call / ring.

Updated to version 1.22 ! Nice updates.

Update!

UP

update.

Great app! Just one remark: I don't like the intrusive icon. Will future updates include a simple, minimal white-only lock icon to fit with every other icon? It's a small thing but nonetheless it could - personally spoken - be that bit better

This is cool man, it's so annoying that auto rotate screen.

When unlocked - the icon is pretty much white... when locked its colored so you will know its locked.
Can you please upload screenshot so ill see why the icon is intrusive ? i see it as a small icon
Notice you can long click the icon and change its location to one of the screen corners ... !

Can you make the app lock the screen all the times? There were some app auto rotate even we lock the screen (youtube while watching )

Well, I thought about doing so... but as far as I know, it can cause some issues I don't think i want to put myself there, it's really working around the system configurations (think of apps only working in landscape mode, locking the orientation completely will make them work in incompatible mode )
Regarding youtube ... It's actually Youtube fault that their app rotates although auto-rotate is OFF...

Very nice app man, thanks!

Sorry, I didn't find any reference to any app called 'Orientation Switch' app (not in the play store)
Anyway, I think the best it to try it yourself ... Uninstall will always stay an option

Updated - bugs fixed (by your requests and queries, thank you)
Donation version is up for helping with the development costs :good:

I just downloaded the app a few minutes ago. So far, very good. I'll write a review at the Play store later this week, and if I'm still using the app in a week, I'll definitely purchase the donation version.
Thanks!

lol whats the battery usage?
I like the concept. I installed the wallpaper and I will use it and see how the battery is affected if at all on my evo.
Would be nice of we could select any image as the wallpaper background. Could even go crazy with the customization by reordering things, different colors for each data set...weather option maybe.
Great work!! I look forward to seeing how this grows.

Seems to work okay....however it doesn't scale properly on my Dell Streak.
Only uses 3/4 of the screen vertically.
Width is fine.

Was actually just going to mention this too. Doesn't use up the whole screen on my evo, it actually seems to shrink sometimes and use even less vertical real estate

Keep on and this could be the base for something great - why? Because no oine really needs it and that´s often a feature of success

Excellent!!..
Thanks for this.
Can you please attach the APK?.. (sometimes is better for me than going into the market)
awesome live wallpaper! would be cool if there were an option to select a custom static wallpaper behind the status.

Cool wall paper thanks. I would like to be able to select the size of the battery gauge and the clock. I don't think time at a location is very useful to me. Seconds on the clock would be a cool option too.
Looks very good!
Have you run some tests of battery drain?
It would be great if we could customize the emphasis of each category. I guess a lot of people would prefer to have a bigger time and smaller battery level.
Select your own wallpaper background image
Hello,
first i want to thank you for all your feedback. I am very happy about.
- Currently I have uploaded two different versions to the market. One free version and a 1 $ version which adds the feature of selecting an image of your own gallery.
- Regarding Dell Streak's display size I will do some research and try to fix soon.
- Battery usage: This was one of my primary goals when developing the wallpaper. Often this was the cause, I have removed a live wallpaper in the past and changed back to a standard image again. As you can see all the values are updated when you turn on the screen. When the display is turned off, the app will unregister from all broadcast receivers to sleep all the night without getting disturbed (wakeup) by any OS notification. Repaint calls were optimized. I cant ensure that it is perfect, but I spent some effort on this already. (My N1 with Cyanogen is providing me nice statistics about CPU/Battery usage)
Once again I am glad, if the app is being used and some people out there like it.

extremely smart and unique idea. Good Job DEDEEP. still testing it out on my Tmo Vibrant with custom Roms

I apologize I didn't even see the paid version in the market, so I didn't know of the custom image feature.
I must say, I didn't notice any significant battery usage while the screen was off, certainly no change when the screen is sleeping, so it looks like that is working just fine.
Keep up the good work.

Agree with this, perhaps having configurable options as to what info is displayed? Apart from adding that to the wishlist, I'm enjoying this live wallpaper, good job.

[APP][Update 2012/08/08] Money is time

Hi People,
I recently started writing apps for Android and I'm very curious what you think of my first app.
A little while ago I was eating a candy bar from the vending machine at work, and I was wondering how many minutes I actually had to work in order to be able to pay for that candy bar. At that moment, I came up with the idea to make an money to time converter.
Money Is Time
Features
Money to time conversion
Time to money conversion
User friendly interface by picker wheels
Supports money up to 99,999.99
Supports up to 24 currency signs like; $, £, € and ¥
Supports time up to about year
Supports both 24/7 scale or working hours
Stopwatch mode where time and money are incremented automatically.
Timer mode where time and money are decremented automatically.
Ability to set the wage per hour / day / week / month
Supports both portrait as landscape view.
Wake lock implemented

Thank you very much for your feedback!
Great idea! It would be cool if you could enter weekly or hourly wage information and if you could both swipe numbers to change them as well as tap on the selected numbers to enter them on a keypad.
Thanks for the QR code! makes it so easy to get the app
Thanks people for your feedback and positive comments so far!
At this moment I've received the following feature requests:
- Ability to fill-in weekly or hourly wage information.
- Ability to choose between swipe or just enter the numbers via the keypad.
- Ability to reset both money and time to zero with a button.
- Ability to set custom currencies.
I'm really gonna work on the items listed above and hope to upload an upgrade sometimes soon.
If there are more requests bugs or just sometime you want to share about this app, please let me know. I'm very curious what you think about this app!
@psycho_maniac: You're welcome, I really appreciate it when people want to help me improve my app. Posting a QR code is the least i could do
Really Creative
Wonderful app. I think if you can make the app run on its own according to a particular setting, will be a good idea. Just a thought.
Nice idea for an app
but have a bug. I run a screen density of between 180 and 200 and the app don't like this
screen shot was taken at 200 screen density.
Feature request:
It would be fun if you could set an amount, per hour/day/month/etc, whichever really, and start the timer. While the timer is ticking, you'd see the money wheel ticking live how much you make each second. And even if you exit the app and start it again a couple of hours later, the app remembers the time/date you exited it, reads the current time and adjusts the sum that you've made so far.

Hi
Thanks for finding this bug. It's very strange, because it looks like android can't decide what screen it is LDPI MDPI HDPI.
On which device and android version did you encounter this problem? My emulator with 200 DPI does show the app correctly.
Thanks a lot!

Options for the timer function
I'm currently busy updating my app with most of the requests I've received.
Version 2.0
I've released version 2.0 today and added the following requests:
- Ability to fill-in weekly or hourly wage information.
- Ability to reset both money and time to zero with a button.
- Ability to set custom currencies. (I've added 20 currency signs)
- Ability to run the app on its own.
I've also added a landscape view so it can be viewed in portrait and landscape instead of portrait alone. Besides adding landscape view I've paid extra attention to the layout to support as much resolutions as possible.
I hope you like the new version! Comments, bugs requests are still more than welcome!!
Version 2.1
I've released version 2.1 and added the following requests:
- Ability to fill-in daily or weekly wage information.
- Timer mode where money and time is automatically decremented.
- Support of HD phones and tablets.
Besides releasing the free 2.1 version I've released a paid version which has;
- No advertisements
- Ability to set a notification sound / vibrate when the timer reaches 0.
I hope you like the new versions! Comments, bugs requests are still more than welcome!!
Thanks
:good:You did listen to what we have to say. In my own book, that makes you a good developer. Thanks for the update.

Hi abudgx,
Stay Alive looks quite useful. Would you consider posting a direct download for the APK so that people living in regions without Play Store access can also enjoy your app?

Just added the APK in attachment.
Thank you for the tip. :good:
Great thanks
Good job! Waiting for this for so many years. Currently using Widget Soid (just for 'screen on' widget only!). Now i can get rid off the widget. Thank you!
Really useful thanks alot easy fast and not memory huger .
Love it !!:fingers-crossed:
neat idea. i normally use something else.. but -- it has no icon? just stays in the notification bar?
Thanks for this!
Trying out as the configuring possibilities are so flexible. I particularly like the option to keep the screen on and not dim, and to keep it on only in selected applications. Any chance it could do both? That is, have the option not to dim at a per application level?

Yeah, I like widgets but for this type of application I find it's more useful to just drop the notification zone and change the settings while you are in an application. Otherwise you have to switch from your application to the launcher to access the widget and go back to your application...
Happy it is useful for you. Take a second to give my app a good rating on Google Play!
Thanks.

It is a tool that reside in your notification area. You can access it's configuration panel by selecting the entry in the notification area.
This way it's always accessible and configurable when you are in other applications.
The top bar will also who you the status of the tool.
Let me know if you need more help, and please take 2 seconds to give me a good rating on google play.

[APP][3.0+] Shake Freeze - Shake Rotation Control & Lock - with source codes

Marketing (scroll down for public beta test and dev info):
Do you get angry when your screen rotates the way you don't want? Do you always have urge to shake your phone to fix the screen orientation? Now you can shake your phone and it will rotate the screen to the correct position with Shake Freeze - a simple screen orientation control & lock app for your phone.
Beta video
How it works
- Turn on the service
- Shake the phone up and down in portrait or landscape mode to lock screen in that position
- Shake the phone towards and away from you to swich between tilt (default auto-rotate) and shake controls
- Use the main app to control display orientation manually
Features
- Shake to rotate screen
- Turn Auto-rotate On/Off in app (switch between tilt and shake controls)
- Customizable sensitivity
- Persistent background service accessible from notification toolbar
- Start on boot, start shaking immediately
- Source code available, no hidden secrets
Missing features
- Force lock. Shake Freeze works ONLY in apps that do not have their preferred orientation (typically text apps like browsers etc)
- Current version doesn't change orientation on tablets (probably with most tablets, only the lock works)
Permission breakdown
- Modify system settings - orientation and auto-rotate are system settings
- Run at startup - optional, the shake detector service can start on boot. Default is OFF!
Free App - Attentionware
The app is completely free with no ads. Source code is available. The only thing I ask is your attention. If you like the app, please rate it, check my Android website, +1 on G+, like my page on Facebook and/or follow my Twitter.

Dev info
Yet another auto-rotate app with a twist (and shake). Made as an excercise, it's my first app for Android that uses more than just display and touchscreen. I've seen better rotation lock apps (but they are paid) and better rotate to do something apps (but they don't have rotation lock). I am releasing the source codes in case you want to check out what the app does on boot etc. I would be extremely grateful if you can comment on the sources too, I am an Android beginner and I definitely have space to improve!

Hello
I tried your beta version and here are the first couple of results:
App description:
I went into the app without watching the video and checking the pics to see if it is intuitive, It took me around 5 minutes to understand. So fair enough. The video is far way more important than the picture itself, because it really shows the purpose of the app comparing it to the the normal behavior. As for the picture I first didn't get it 100% percent but after watching the video and playing with the app it makes sense. But for the little beginners I think there is something missing in it.
UI:
Well there isn't a lot of buttons and setting which is quite good I think less is more in UI/UX which is good in your design. There is only the number of shakes slider, If the settings underneath is an actual int number, maybe display it on the slider instead of waiting for the user to select it and then display it in the main scene, because he will have to click OK to see what he has actually selected 8-9-10ish
Functional Tests
I tried on my stock Gnex running 4.3 (without the latest update from google 2 weeks ago), The app ran smoothly and the sensitivity is good and set to the default middle settings.
I tired also setting the service to start on start-up, set it to landscape, and then restart my phone. Everything went well it even remembered the last setting which was landscape and the service running appeared in the notification.
All in all it is a excellent development and a very good exercise as I have seen on your blog.
As for me I would say that its main usage will be while watching youtube.
Hope it helps
Thanks !
Hi there,
I'm trying of the beta on my Nexus S. Everything works and the sensitivity adjustment gives a good range.
One suggestion I have is to separate the toggle for tilt and shake. If I want to use the shake functions with high sensitivity but not the tilt it is difficult to do so (without having to shake a bunch of times). This way, it is a little bit more versatile in how the user wants to use your app =]
Other than that I think the Ui should be sufficient. The help screen could be separated into a few chunks so user isn't overwhelmed by the amount of text, although the app is relatively intuitive to use.
Nice app!
Hi,
It's a Nice App :good: It's very intuitive and is very easy use it.
Work well in my Cubot One and Iocean X7
If you already use Tasker & Rotation Locker, you can save some memory by using Tasker and the Rotation Locker app plug-in to rotate once shake is detected.

Hey
Full-screen does hide navbar. Can you send me screenshots? Did you long hold the screen for more than 3 seconds to enable full-screen?
Non-working of night-mode is an issue on some devices. Which device are you using?
Thanks for the feedback mate.

Shamu = Nexus 6
Suggestion
You should include a couple of 'Fullscreen' gameplay screenshots to give an idea of how it'd look like. I'll give this a try, for sure.
Sorry, yes shamu is the nexus 6 code name. Here are a few screenshots with full screen off and full screen on.
I'd have preferred the grid to cover as much screen-space possible, because with the current setup the grid doesn't scales
Another quirk that I noticed is that on hitting the screen to dismiss the 'Do you want to restart' message, the app registers it as a swipe resulting in a move, not really intended in the first place. Try the original app for reference.
Finally, the 'Nightmode' didn't work for me, but it's okay. Basically I was looking to get an app that features NxN grid + Nightmode/CustomThemes but, couldn't find one. The one I already use, doesn't gives me a dark theme, and that is all I need. So long then, I'll keep an eye out for this space :good:
night mode does not work
cataclysm nexus 5
Hi Guys
I am sorry to see that some of you aren't able to get the Night-mode feature working. I have done some testing of Night-mode online on Testdroid cloud. And this feature was working on all the 7 phones (Galaxy tab, motorola razr, asus fonepad, etc.) on which the testing was done. FYI night-mode text has to be pressed to enable night-mode :silly:.
Since these issues were seen on nexus phones, I am going to get hold of one from my friend and do testing on it. Thanks a lot for the feedbacks.
Thank you @pandroidinc for creating a very promising version of this game. Full screen hid the status bar for me; but not the lower nav bar - honestly, I'm fine with that though.
Clicking Nightmode did not work. I tried long press without the status bar, long press with the status bar, short tap w/o the status bar, and short tap w/ the status bar (in case the status bar hidden knocked the layout outta whack) - no joy.
Running Frank 12.0 ROM (pretty much Lollipop AOSP) on a Nexus 4. I'm happy to help test any updates if you'd like.
Looking forward to seeing this app mature!

Hey equi_design
Thanks for the detailed feedback Well, regarding night-mode issue, I see a trend - it isn't working on Nexus mobiles. I am trying to figure out the exact cause but have no luck till now.
