[Q] Not receiving delta updates from Play Store on 4.2.1? - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have two Asus TF300T tablets (a US and a WW one). Both are updated to latest stock rom, both are completely stock.
Since updating to 4.2.1, I no longer get delta updates from the Google Play Store on both devices (it worked fine in 4.1).
Is anyone on 4.2.1 getting delta updates from the Play Store?

Thanks for the reply. At least now I know it's not just me
I should mention that yesterday I did a single update (i don't quite recall what the app was) and that DID do a delta update - it only downloaded about 30% before installing. But today I'm back to full updates (updated Evernote and some other apps). So it seems that the "problem" is on the server side (in combination with the 4.2.1 stock rom).

What's a delta update? AFAIK the play store always does a full app install.......

It's a new feature that was introduced in Jellybean 4.1 across all devices and relates only to UPDATES. Initial install is always full (obviously), but updates only download the data that has changed from the current installed version (i.e. the "delta" of it).
This feature has save me a TON of data use - especially on game updates. It is also especially useful for apps from "those" developers who seem to think that every single fix requires a update and do so on a daily basis, it adds up when you have 200+ apps installed.
This feature WAS working on my TF300T before the 4.2 update, and it is currently still working on my SGS3 running 4.1. I am not sure if this issue is related to 4.2 in general or to the TF300T's 4.2 rom only.
When it is working, a strange bug is that the store does not show the size of the delta update, it always shows the full size of the update - but it will only download up to some percentage (i.e. the delta amount) and then start installing. And the weird part is that the progress bar in the notification area shows the progress of the delta part only.
It used to work for me for ALL updates - i.e. the developer does not have to "support" it, it is done on the server side.
However, I read somewhere that this does not always work on custom roms.

App Updates

In a previous thread I posted a question about Voice Search which was eventually resolved once I updated to the latest version. Going thru the apps on my Phone I found the following stock to be older than what is available on the market:
1) Google Maps
2) Facebook
3) Voice Search.
and
AT&T Code Scanner (But the update fails with a message about invalid package sign).
I have auto sync on and background data as well but the update was never shown as available and had to got thru most stock apps and verify I have the latest; have you guys seen something like this? If you haven't, check and update the above apps.
Having same issue
I haven't seen a single app update for last 7~8 days.
I used to have a rooted Evo and it was typical to have 1~2 apps that had updates on a daily basis.
Does AT&T have power to restrict updates?

I got an update to Floating Image today. I think it's just that the popular apps in the Android Market are becoming more mature and stable and don't need as many updates as they used to.
Found the same apps had updates available from Market on my Inspire within the first few days after upgrading (picked up on Feb 13th at local AT&T Store). I figured it was the situation of these apps being installed in the factory, then boxed and shipped to stores before updates were available.

[Q] Android Market Update

Just wondering if anyone knows why the android market hasnt updated itself.
I still have the market with the green top (2.3.4) yet the new market 3.x.x was released months ago.
There were several 3.0.x versions and now the most current release is 3.1.5.
I know that the new version can be installed manually frmo the apk file, but im just wondering why the update hasnt been pushed out to the phone like it has been with most other android handsets.
It seems that none of the HTC phones have had the new market pushed out over the air. As far as I am aware market updates get pushed out direct from google?
Anyone know why Desire S hasnt received it?

It hasn't been updated because HTC are VERY slow on the update side of things as we all know!
Also, the latest version of the market is infact 3.3.11
and it can be found HERE
Just download the apk and run it from your phone. This will update your market to the latest version
I thought market updates don't come frmo the phone manufacturer, but got pushed out direct by google?

well either way whoever is responsible for it hasn't done their job properlly. If you want it just download it from my link and install it yourself
It came preinstalled with my sense 3 update. But I didn't like it. It loaded every page very very slow that I had to uninstall it to get the older one.
I flashed the 2.10.401.5 RUU (Android 2.3.5, sense 3.0) ROM and it didtn actualyl come with the new market. it still had the old green top one. However upon loading the market for the first time, seeing the green top one, then closing the market. It auto updated itself, changed tothe newer style icon on the homescreen, and now has 3.1.5. Strange why it auto updated on this rom, but never did on the 2.3.3 one.
Hi everyone, I'm new to xda here's the link for the Android market 3.3.11 Its working for my desire s. Use qr Droid app to download
I used the old version, temporarily do not want to upgrade it.

Xoom 4.1 OTA Google Now Missing Hotword option

anyone else running the new OTA for stock JB notice that the hotword option in Google Now is missing?
I am part of the soak test so I did report that.
I do hope it's somewhere hidden and configurable.
Would hate to have to actually tap a button when this is supposed to be more or less a hands free thing
No Hotword either???

My stock Xoom was updated OTA on Thursday with Jelly Bean and it does run smoother, but I seem to be yet another one with no option to download the offline language pack. Google Now does work but it doesn't have the 'Google' hot word recognition like what some people have on other devices. Checking the status of all my apps installed, Voice search and Google search are now incompatible, even though they are already installed. Adobe Flash is incompatible now, but I figured that; the Firefox web browser is also incompatible now. Everything else seems to be OK.

Same here though I believe this may be a symptom of a larger issue; not being able to download the offline language pack.
Language in Voice must be set to English US not UK or any other variation.

Latest app updates not showing in Play

Certain apps of mine don't seem to be updating to the latest version or showing the update button in Google Play.
For example if an app received an update from the devs today and I want to update it, it doesn't allow me to.
Any ideas why?
Thanks!

maybe that version of the app isn't compatible with your android version?

[Q] Android Apps Won't Update

This is my first Android phone so I am not sure what the update policy is on Android apps from the store.
I have a few apps that I have purchased from the App store, the store shows that there is a newer version than what I have installed but it is not giving me the option to update. For example, Gravity Screen. The changelog indicates 1.74 is the newest. I currently have 1.73.

google offers developers something called staged rollout, so the devs can roll out the updates in the first row only to a few number of users
you'll get your updates usually within 1 week delay (max)
