[Q] LG Optimus 3D CM7 revert to stock - LG Optimus 3D

I received an LG P920 from a friend because he gave up on it and upgraded to a new HTC. Problem was.. when he had it he lost the original stock rom from a format. It is now running Cyanogenmod 7. I am left with a Optimus 3D I desperately want back on stock so that I can upgrade to ICS. I use straight talk as a cell provider so I have my own SIM and have my settings set accordingly. I have tried time and time again and scoured forums for answers. I cannot get Google Play to work and I am basically stuck with a dumb smartphone. I have to do constant restarts to get messages/make calls/update my battery status. Please help a very lost and confused Optimus owner.
--I don't even know what all information to post but if any is requested I will do my best to post. :crying:

xbsall? This just a flashing tool?
-your right though, I really don't want to give up.
-Where would I go about finding ICS if it is not through the LG mobile support tool?

Just go here

[Q] Cant understand what wrong with baseband

Hello to all!
In first, excuse me for my english.
Can anybody help me understand, what wrong with my baseband ?
When i buy my Thrill 4G, seller flash some optimus P920 rom, and send phone to me. (Android 2.3.5, baseband L6260_MODEM_SIC_01.1042.00)
And now i can install only Thaiz 2.7.1 rom (great rom, thnx dev) All other is dont get signal (AcuraTeam 3D MAX v1, Promethius, DNA 3.3.3, etc.)
What i need to do, to get working all other roms ?
Thnx for answer!
One more time, sorry for my english.
All the LG Basebands appear with the same name: L6260_MODEM_SIC_01.1042.00, but they are different.
To get the real version of your Baseband, download GetRIL from Google PlayStore (is free). It will tell you what version of Baseband you really have.
baseband real is v18a.
its GB baseband.
So whats wrong?
1 more question.

[Q] How to update to latest firmware/version,when phone has been rooted?

How to update to latest firmware/version,when phone has been rooted?
I'm still using good ol' KingDroid LG3D v1.4.2 ( kernel 2.6.35.7 / baseband L6260_MODEM_SIC_01.1042.00 / Android 2.2.2 / software LG920-V10e-AUG-11-2011 ) but recently seen that we can update it to 4.0 android now, since my device is rooted, is it no longer possible to update it the 'legal' way, do I still have to keep using custom ROMs to get updates or it's possible to roll back to factory reset phone, where everything is stock?
A bit dummy here, because tried loads of times update firmware without any luck, most of threads were too old or it didn't worked on my device.
P920 UK version
About the android 4.0 (ICS) it is a port . It is not for optimus 3D it's for other device (SU760) . But a developer port it (means that he modified it to work with our devices ) . So of course it is not official or legal . And it is not easy to get .
You can update it to 2.3.5 (gingerbread) officialy and legaly .
I test both of them (ICS & GB) and I found that GB roms is batter that ICS . UNTIL NOW but of course the ICS will be batter .

ghost call means, someone is trying to call you, on his side phone is ringing, but nothing happens for you, you don't even see missed call
About me it did not happen to me .
But all xda members were using gingerbread . I thing the ghost call has been fixed .

V21E is a ghost call free firmware and it's legal.
Technically , it's not illegal to install a modded Kernel. It's prohibited but not illegal.
You can always install a stock rom and unroot it to get the warranty back...
They wouldn't notice.
In fact they have no way of knowing any damage besides a physical one apparent on the phone cosmetics. (Like liquid damage or Broken Digitizer)
They would assume , try to get you to confess but if you deflect you'll always land on your foot.
Get offended and they back away immediately , not that they're stupid but they have to...
Hope I helped...
Cheers!

I don't really know how's working warranty for GUM MOBILE mobile seller website, but so far I hadn't any problem with phone to get warranty involved.
Trying all the time to do custom installations and upgrades, but I wouldn't be happy if I brick my phone with those custom installations

Bricks can be fixed.
The trick is to not panic , there are guides that'll fix your phone in no time for "free".
Everybody bricks their phone at some point...
That's how you learn and get back to the community that helped you do it.
Listen right now LG o3d has an almost complete repair guide it means that almost every software related problem can be fixed including all kinds of bricks even the hard ones .even u can restore your imei if it got curropted so just read carefully and don't panic if something happened ..and even ask for help anytime we will help u.
I have bricked my device over 30 times last two weeks but I fixed it by reading and learning.

Just a tip, if upgrading from froyo to GB do not use Smart flash. It'll make your IMEI disappear, and you'll have to flash using flash tool anyway.

I did flash with smart flash, that was only way to unbrick my phone
if I go for custom ICS or JB roms, do I need upgrade from 21e to something higher?
Yes for pics u need to flash ported ics. Which has only one problem its 3d is reverted but everything else work..anyway ics is still not as good as gb ..I would recommend promethious tom and kernel for v21e or thiaiaz rom or meemos roms. Just find what suits u ...and btw don't flash with latest cwm recovery it doesn't works just bricks your device .use the older one provided in LG recovery manager just search for it in the forum..good luck ..if u need anything just ask

[Q] LG Optimus P920 semi bricked

Hi Guys,
I´ve been reading for days and trying all the different approaches described here,
Phone will boot, but modem part won´t work, I have tried CM10, JellyBam, PACMan, NOTHING works,
I can´t flash from my computer since the flash-program can´t find the phone, Windows 7 can find it and copy files to the SD Card.
Many of the posts here leads to files on servers where file is not available anymore. Difficult when ½ of the files needed are impossible to get.
Please help me instead af directing me to the FAQ, i have really done everything to get the phone to work.
If someone can help me to get the original ROM on it i would be really grateful..

Follow this guide it "Will" get you back on gingerbread.
If it doesn't then you must have done something wrong or you have hardware damage.
Edit : The files are there , I just checked.

It will cost a fortune in freight, furthermore it is not mine, it is my brothers but it seems like it works for now. It is running CM10 nightly.
Don´t think it will be good but it works for now.
it will be just fine..
Get used to the recovery procedures and it will last until its hardware trully dies

I have the p925g on Rogers, here in Brantford.
I have ICS running on it, and am going to try out CM10 soon, just monitoring the ROMS to see which will be best.
I offer to take a look remotely via Teamviewer to help you out to see why LG Flashtool won't work. The SmartFlash tool will NOT work properly that I have seen, and I tried many times, finally LG tool got my phone working properly.
If you want my help, PM me, and we can connect up via the IM of your choice, MSN, etc.
Keep in mind, that going to ICS or CM10, your phone will not work "properly" but it will be nearly proper. 3D has issues in ICS, doesn't work in CM10.
Finally I made it working idk y the flashtool didn't work till now but I tried it again and again and made it work finally.. with that it took less than 2mins to do it new year and a sort of new phone finally!! flashed V18a btw so far working good I'm able to make and receive calls yaaay

Just Got a new O3D and I plan to root it soon...but before I do,I want to know.
Is there any perfectly working 4.x ROM that works well and I still get to keep my 3D camera/screen?
Am still waiting for any helpful reply
There is no best rom. And this question is prohibited in the forums.
Btw... what kind of rom you have now? Which baseband? In which country you use the phone?

So ... you have a long way to go. Rooting is the most easy thing in the whole work.
So... JB/CM -> not 3D view
To go to ICS... you should first install over computer in KDZ or Bin/FLS file the ICS system - I am almost sure that you will brick your phone 1-2 times - so it is better to read careful what is written in the manuals. Basically you should go from your V20p to V28B or V30a/b/c via LGFlashtools or SmartFlash(good change to loose you IMEI - so look for how to repair my IMEI cos you will not have signal). Then you should install open bootloarer (there is a tools) cos most of the Kernels work only in open one. Then you can install custom roms... well... they are all Rooted so you should not care about that.
As drastic00 said - read the developer section and all about resurrection guides.

Found an ICS ROM here http://d-h.st/QgU not sure to download it yet as I do not wish to loose my 3D feature...
Is this ROM safe? I.e do I get to keep my 3D?,or loose it?
And lastly, can I flash it now? Or still need to upgrade firmware?

No. you should install first over the computer the ICS and then you can install over CWM custom Roms. so.... read read read.
Why not update to ICS through the LG update tool LG released the update a while ago now..
Sent from my LG-P920 using xda app-developers app
You could try it but LG updater tool has been bricking phones left and right. Better to install ICS by LG Flash tool.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2195753
Then you can install p-vlad's custom ROM or xbsall's or whatever ROM you want, or stay on stock ICS.
Mine worked perfectly, in fact it unbricked my locked GB after I messed around with the kernel. And updated it ICS perfectly. Big performance improvement, I can run games I wouldnt expect a mid 2011 (mid range phone) to run. It's given it a whole new life that the GB roms never could and even xbsalls and other ICS+ roms felt sluggish compared to it.
