Hi guys! It has been a few days since a notification has appeared on my phone (Creed v4 ROM). It concerns installation of Google Play Service via Play. After downloading, the installation always fails (Incompatible with other application(s) using the same shared ID)! Similarly, when I try to update Youtube app a notification appears, as follows: "Package file was not signed correctly. Uninstall the previous copy of the app and try again".
What can I do to solve these issues?
Thank you for replying to me.
Regards.

yeah that is the problem with creed rom
the system apps are signed due to which when you update them via playstore it says signed incorrectly
you will have to delete the application from system and then download it freshly
you can also push the respective apks in system/app and change permission to rw-r-r and reboot phone

Hi soham jambhekar, thank you for information you gave me!
Thus, to resolve these issues should I delete default Play and Youtube apps and install them via Play?
In this way, won't notifications appear again?
Thank you for replying to me.

Magiuster
you can download the play store apk from our apps and theme section there is a post by mahendran
then you can uninstall YouTube and play apps from your system
push the play apk in system set permission
after setting play store up you can download YouTube from playstore

Hi soham jambhekar,
I uninstalled Youtube app and I installed it again via Play. This issue seems to be solved!
Contrary, Play app can not be uninstalled and this issue is still alive! Is there any solution to solve it?
Thank you for replying to me.

Play needs to be unistalled using link2sd/titanium backup/root explorer (or similar apps)
Using root explorer goto system/app
Delete the playstore/market/vending or whatever name the playstore is saved in.
Then copy the new playstore into the same folder
Now long press and set permissions RW-R-R
Reboot.

Hi Harryhades, thank you for your useful guide!
I downloaded Play apk from this thread and I followed step by step your guide!
Now, even this issue seems to be solved. If notifications will appear again, I am going to write on this thread!
Thank you for helping me and thanks soham jambhekar as well! :good:

No way, the issue persists!
A notification concerning download of Google Play Service still appears on my phone (a red triangle with an exclamation mark in the centre*). When I tap on it, the Play downloading page is opened. After downloading, the error notification (Incompatible with other application(s) using the same shared ID) appears.
What can I do?
Thank you for replying to me.

give it time , after you install a new play store it will first update to latest version and also update services too
once you get the terms and conditions box and you accept them , then you can download apps

Unfortunately, the issue is not solved. For example, Goolge+ app does not work and asks the installation of Google Play Services. I tried to install it via Play, but the usual notification appeared (Incompatible with other application(s) using the same shared ID). Thus, i tried to download Google Play Services apk via web. I put it in phone sd card and I started the installation. No way, installation failed.
What can I do?
Thank you for replying to me.

Hi there. I have not solved Google Play issue yet. I followed step by step what Harpratap wrote, but the issue is always the same!
Have you got any ideas to help me?
Thank you for replying to me.

If this is not working , I suggest you download latest gapps package
extract gapps zip
extract creed rom zip
copy the files of gapps in system/app of creeds rom
this will replace the older gapps files present in the rom
compress back the creed rom
and flash again
just backup your apps and data so that you can restore it again

Thank you, soham jambhekar!
I am doubtful about compatibility between the gapps pack you suggested to me and my Android version. I followed the link you gave me and I read that the most recent Google Apps Core is for Andorid 4.2.x Jelly Bean (January 7, 2013). Well, my Android version is 2.3.6! Is there something wrong?
The gapps pack author also wrote that this package is for Jelly Bean ROMs only!

Bad news...
I substituted google apks in system/app of Creed Rom 4 with pertinent ones in system/app of gapps that soham jambhekar suggested to me. I did not substitute three apks because they were not in Creed Rom 4 and I renamed Vending.apk in PlayStore.apk. I did not substitute any other file. I installed the modified Creed Rom 4 but, after rebooting, I did not find PlayStore app. Where did I wrong?
Thank you for replying to me.
Regards.
Magiuster
you need to copy all the files present in gapps , except Google talk which is not compulsory
also remove playstore present in creed v4 and just copy the vending from gapps
don't rename anything
Edit : i don't know if this might be the cause of the problem , but system apps do not have spaces in their names , So your "Play Store.apk" name could have caused the problem please check that out

2. Select Maps and wipe data, then uninstall.
3. Select Street View and wipe data, then uninstall.
4. Make a reboot (recommended).
5. Rename the file u downloaded to Maps.apk
6. Copy Maps.apk to system/app and fix permissions rw-r--r--
7. Reboot & Enjoy =D
Signed version can be installed like a normal app, unsigned can't. It'll give an installation error. Unsigned version has to be moved to /system/app via adb or Root Explorer and set permissions to rw-r-r. That's the only difference , THANKS TO sashank

Have come across a hacked version of S voice for Non SGS 3 Users and tested it in our Device. It is not 100% bug free but worth to give a try I love it
S Voice is an intelligent personal assistant on Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone, which runs on the Android operating system. Like Apple's Siri, the application uses a natural language user interface to answer questions, make recommendations, and perform actions by delegating requests to a set of Web services.
Many android users feels that S Voice is better than Vlingo in feature and performance wise.

I couldn't install the zip file in CWM so I manually extracted the file and pushed only the files/folders inside System folder into the. corresponding folders.
Procedure to install:
1. You mobile should have been rooted to use this.
2. Extract the zip file downloaded from the above link. Use file explorer like "Root Explorer " to navigate to the extracted folder and copy the folder "System" and paste that folder in "/" (root folder) of your device. If you are using Root Explorer make sure you tap on Mount R/w before pasting the folder. After you paste the folder, again press on Mount R/o. Basically it overwrites the existing /system folder contents with this one especially the existing text to speech related files will be overwritten with SGS 3 tts files. No worries everything works good.
3. Restart your mobile. Invoke S Voice either by double pressing home button or from Blue tooth or clicking the app icon.
Can anyone help in creating a CWM install zip file after complete testing by everyone please.

GMAIL 4.2 from Android Police (See attachment)
For more info head over to:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/1...-pinch-to-zoom-swipeaway-deletearchive-video/
Being developed specifically for Android 4.2 but will also work with Android 4.0+:good:
Ok the APK has finally been released to the public. You can download it from the above link or from the attachment below.
Instructions for installation: (As listed on the above site, posting it here for your convenience )
Note: This APK should work on Android 4.0+. You do need to be rooted.
The Gmail 4.2 APK is signed by Google, but with a different key than the one in the Play Store (we checked the signatures - they differ). One is probably the test key and the other the production key. For this reason, you can't simply install it as an update and therefore need to be rooted with the ability to mount the /system directory for writing in order to remove the existing Gmail APK.
Important: Once Google updates Gmail in the Play Store, you will want to revert this process or at the very least delete the Gmail 4.2 APK you installed here if you want to update it from the Play Store.
OK, let's get down to it. You'll probably need ADB installed on your computer. There is a chance that this might work without ADB by just removing the APKs mentioned below and installing the new one, but it didn't seem to work reliably for everyone. This should, though:
1. Download Gmail 4.2 apk.
2. Rename it to Gmail2.apk.
3. Make a Nandroid backup in case something goes wrong (this is always a good thing to do before messing with your device).
4. Remount /system for writing (via your favorite root-aware file explorer).
5. Delete (or move if you want to save the APKs) all other versions of Gmail. Usually there are 2 or 3 copies. One will be in /system/app (that's the original Gmail that was pre-installed on the device) and there may be a few in /data/app (these are the updates installed from the Play Store). They'll be called "Gmail.apk," or "com.google.android.gm-[number].apk," An easy way to tell is to look for the Gmail icon.
6. You may need to delete the .odex files matching the APKs in step 5 too, if you have them. Neither I nor Artem had to do this, but there are many different ROMs out there, and we're trying to cover all bases. Ignore this step and only come back to it if something doesn't work later.
7. Reboot. Once you do, you should have no Gmail as far as Android is concerned.
8. You can try to install the Gmail 4.2 APK you downloaded at this point by tapping it in your favorite file explorer (move the APK to your device first, of course). If that doesn't work, or if you prefer ADB, fire up a command line and type adb install Gmail2.apk.
If you get an error message, you probably didn't delete all copies of Gmail. If you don't feel like playing with ADB for Step 8, I've also gotten it to work by just copying the APK to /data/app, but that's not as fool proof as "ADB install".
Simple Steps for Installation: (Thnx to mj.vikram:good
1. Download the Apk.
2. Goto System/app folder and rename Gmail.apk to Gmail.apk1. (For safe side)
3. Rename the downloaded to Gmail2.apk and paste it in system/apps.
4. Change the permisiion to RW-R--R.
5. Restart the Mobile.
6. Enjoy the new Gmail ....
Note: You need a root-explorer!
.
Thnx!
upload apk
thanks

Yes but need to check whether you are having any update in data/app folder. You need to rename that as like system/app. then reboot.
@bluesky747: buddy, where is this feature..??

Buddy, I tried it but first time it was showing older version. So, it checked in data/app. The latest version was showing there. so i renamed that as well. after that, I got GMAIL2..its awesome. About SMS, I knew about browser base but for application can't it be possible like Google play(just like newer version). why everything is not available in India.
The sms feature is now supporting all networks in India. The list of supported providers is given here

Here is new APK of Google Play. Google just started rolling out an updated Google Play Store version 3.9.16 that follows the previous version 3.8.17 from August. Good news, everyone - we've already got our hands on the APK for you to install manually thanks to our loyal tipsters.
Installation is simple. Just download & install it.
What's New:
The most notable and immediately apparent new feature is the long overdue ability to remove apps you've previously downloaded from the All Apps list. If you like to try a lot of apps, that list is likely very cluttered. With the new Google Play, you can trim it to your heart's content.
Update #1: You can multi-select by long-pressing any app in the list and then tapping more apps, then delete them all in one go (added 2 new screenshots demonstrating it).
Update #2: The new Play Store now keeps track of your location in lists, including My Apps and All Apps, so when you click into an app and back, it drops you into the same spot. I had variable luck with this, and it didn't seem to work in All Apps at first, but I just reproduced it on both the EVO LTE and the Nexus 7. Brilliant.
Update #3: The notification icon that shows up when you have app updates has changed, and notifications are now expandable. I've added more screenshots showing the differences.
Update #4: The notification icon after installing an app now shows the app icon instead of something generic.
The size of the Play Store APK actually went down, so Google must have trimmed some extra fat. We're still digging through everything - in the meantime, check out the screenshots and grab the new version from my Ubuntu One

So after deodexing the nexus 4 system dump(which i grabbed from androidtaskforce ) and trying various combinations of apps to work(was really a tiresome job).
I present the following:
1.Google Earth
2.Email(not gmail)
3.Play Store
4.Voice Search for Play Store
Update:The updated zip now contains these extra apps:
5.Quick office v5.7.2
6.Play music
7.Play Magzine
8.Play books
The install instruction remain the same copy files from app and lib folder to system/app and system/lib respectively and normally install the other apks.
Updated link:http://db.tt/dHoqZy1W
Mirror:https://www.box.com/shared/6estem5qv1r96fi0g4c0
Separate google earth zip:http://db.tt/wTIB9QPs use this if you want only google earth the procedure is the same install the apk manually and copy the lib file to system/lib and set permission.
So to get this fun on your phone
1.Download and extract the zip.
Note: This is not a flashable zip so don't go flashing this in any recovery.Just extract this zip.I'll upload a flashable zip later as i've to leave for coll now.
2.Copy all the files in app folder to system/app folder and set the permission to 644(rw-r--r--)
Note:to see how to change permission see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33585486
3.Similarly Copy all files in lib folder to system/lib folder and set the permission to 644(rw-r--r--)
4.Simply install the GoogleEarth.apk and Phonesky.apk( don't copy them to system/app just click on them and install normally).
5.Reboot your phone and enjoy!!!!!
Hit thanks if you like this!!
Note: If you get some error in these do a cache+dalvic wipe. That should fix it.

Differences?
What's different or new with these updated apps besides version number? I don't see anything new added to either of these applications.
All working for me, two accounts on email and the Google Earth is awesome! But I don't know how to use the Play Store voice search?

You've to be rooted to set the permissions. Then you must have some file explorer that allows you access to root(Root Explorer,ES File Explorer,Solid explorer)
Then when you've copied the file in proper place (assuming you're using root explorer)touch and hold on that file name a menu will pop up.Select set permission from there and then set the permission to 644(rx-r--r--)
In short your permission window should look like this
**-
*--
*--
* denotes tick
- denotes untick..
Hope that gets it cleared for everyone!!!!
