N 8000 ICS mobile network turning off automatically when screen off - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there. I just bought an N8000 and whenever I turn off screen the mobile network turns off and shows a circle with a slash in the middle. The device is on ICS 4.0.4. Whenever the screen is turned off no incoming calls can be received. Its product code is GT-N8000ZWAAFR. I have done 5 or 6 factory resets but the result is the same. Also, no incoming calls can be received when screen is off. If I am in the middle of a call and the screen shuts off, the line gets disconnected. I have also tested with two other SIM cards from different providers (all of whom have great reception in my area) but the same result.
I have checked the device update on my note 10.1 but still no updates either from OTA or Kies. I have scoured the internet and xda forums for similar problems to no avail. I checked out samir_a's guide to reinstall to a different region stock rom (I'm thinking Germany) but I'm confused whether I'll be able to receive OTA updates (some posts say I won't) as it will no longer match my region code, and I don't plan on manually flashing ever again.
Please please please help.

Thanks for the reply.
Well I had warranty so didn't want to mess with it further. I took it back to the store and they gave me a new one. They however found the problem to be quite weird.
Also the previous one had a AFR CSC code, which I checked on sammobile to be still stuck on ICS 4.0.4 .. The replacement I got also had ICS 4.0.4 on it with CSC code COA (which is Romania ). I checked OTA after getting home but showed no updates (I selected Romania as my country when it asked for my location). On connecting it to Kies it found an update. I let it finish it's job and voila JB 4.1.2. \
I couldn't be happier.

[Q] Update – HTC Desire HD Firmware Over The Air (FOTA) update

Your phone will receive a notification of FOTA update when it is made available. Simply press OK to accept the update via a data connection such as Wi-Fi or GPRS/3G. After installing the update, you can confirm a successful update by confirming the Build number (From the Home Screen go to MENU> Settings> About Phone> Software Information> Software number). The new Build number after the update will be 2.36.405.5. Update: Android 2.3 upgrade. Note:Please back up your data first before upgrading your phone. We recommend using a free Wi-Fi hotspot or an unlimited data plan to apply this update. If not, standard data connection charges may apply. For any questions, please contact us at http://www.htc.com/www/CA_Hotline.aspx

I tried but with no luck (
Any ideeas??
so what exactly is your question and what does it have to do with the apps and games thread?
I tried too! But nothing. No updates...
its UK only...
I am in uk and seems like there is no update yet for us...
I have received this upgrade and have had nothing but trouble since installing it. I was wondering if there was a way I can put my phone back to the way it was?
Basically, since the update, the only difference in my phone that I notice is an app called "Dock" which is basically a new screen for when you are driving. I have had nothing but trouble receiving calls or texts and at worst, I have received texts 26 hours after they were sent. My work depends on my company being able to contact me at any given time which, since the update, they have had a great difficulty doing.
Is there any way I can roll back the phone to the previous software as HTC and my network company are shockingly bad at making any attempt to solve the problem?
Thanks

[Q] HELP...Messed UP baseband/RADIO

Hello EveryOne:
I have been using this G2x as my second Android phone ever, the first one was HTC Aria..But before and for long years was Window Mobile man..LOL
I have changed the ROM after rotting and unlocking ,started with CM7 stable then moved on and have tried every ROM on this G2x android development forum.
The problem is, i have noticed after changed the stock ROM, that i can't receive international SMS anymore..,however i can send and receive delivery report(of course on tweaked Tmobile Stock ROMs only, as any CM7 ROMs or based ROMs having an issue for delivery report).
I have searched a lot here and there, till found one mismatching (incompatibility) between baseband (M660A...Jun 5) and RIL, even getRil software gave 4 options ,none of them matched with my baseband..
Have tried to change the baseband, of course failed..Tried every possible way..whether KDZ way or LG updater..
The only hope left for me, is that some one can give me the correct RIL for such basband
Plus i ahve to say, that any custom ROM would read the SMSC in very strange code..Not HEX one or even regular number preceded by (+) sign..
002B00310036003100330035003000300039003000300030
Can't update the SMSC, always gives me update error, even though with HEX coding of WIND SMSC number
But whenever get abck to WIND stock ROM, can read SMSC in normal way (+16135009000), but still can't update the SMSC by whatever way.And still no way to receive international SMS.
My entire problem, is i can send and receive local SMS, but international one i can send only and NO MORE RECEIVING(i was receiving before the flash at the first moment used the G2X)
Called the customer service and technical support of WIND thousands times, no one has an explanation for that..
Thanks afor your time and have wonderful day..
Go to your wind store and ask for a new simcard, I had the exact same problem before. They told me its due to some limitation to their old simcard. Once they give you a new simcard the problem will be solved, and just as they promised, i can now recieve signal again. In fact, my problem was way more serious lol. I couldnt even recieve signal, AT ALL. No matter where I went it is always a cross on the signal icon. And now everything is working perfectly again.
So yeah just go to the wind store, tell them your problem, and they shall give you a new simcard right away.
NO CHANGE
I have changed the SIM, still the same problem, i think something with SMS hidden options...Any kind of help...i have tried all the costumed ROMs...No way

[Q] Motorola Defy+ stock 2.3.6 update causes reboot when connecting to phone network

I bought a refurbished Motorola Defy+ which came preinstalled with Gingerbread 2.3.4. Out of the box, the phone was able to receive calls, although I didn't test making calls at that time.
I ran the stock Software Update from Settings, and this installed 2.3.6 on the phone. Since that point, I can no longer make or receive calls on the phone. As soon as the phone tries to make the connection, it reboots: either when making a call into the phone, at the first ring, or when dialing out. I have confirmed that it's not the dialer itself that is the problem by using different dialer apps.
I have performed a full factory reset on the phone and tried with wifi, etc turned off but it has made no difference at all. Other features of the phone are absolutely fine and I have had no unexpected reboots due to any other cause.
After searching around it seems quite a few people have had problems with their Defy+ rebooting, but this is generally either during a call or just randomly. In my case it is absolutely at the exact time that it tries to make the phone network connection and at no other time.
Could this be a hardware problem, or is it more likely to be the 2.3.6 ROM installed by the software update? If I install another ROM, is it likely to fix the problem? If so, how would I go about downgrading the phone to the 2.3.4 version?
Thanks in advance.
OK, I jumped the gun.
I hadn't actually connected to any of my mobile phone network's APNs at the time I posted the above. Now that I have configured it to connect via 2G or 3G, I get random reboots all the time.
Not that this helps or anything.

[Q] OnePlusOne - Numerous Issues?!

Hi everyone,
I recently bought the phone from T-Dimension and it's having some issues and I was wondering if anyone could help me out or if they've run into something similar. The issue is I can't seem to send/receive any calls and I can't send/receive any texts. The bizarre thing is it works for the first 45 seconds when I reboot but then locks me out straight after that. The phone is issued from Hong Kong and had Color OS on it but I flashed CyanogenMod onto it, here's some more information.
- The phone is connected to Amaysim, which runs of the Optus network I believe, so it's connected onto the mobile network just fine.
- The Micro-SIM card I'm using is brand new, it's put in correctly into the slot, meaning upside down facing towards the bottom of the phone, so that's fine.
- I've tested the SIM with other phones and it works perfectly fine.
- When it locks me after 45 seconds, it fluctuates from saying, "Call Not Sent" to just it being stuck on the dialling screen.
- After being locked out, I can't receive any calls either, I've tried calling the phone but nothing shows up.
- After being locked out, I can't receive any messages either, when I try to send a message it just stays stuck in sending, and if I restart the phone, it just says the text failed.
- I've contacted Amaysim Help Desk, and they say my problems lie with the phone being locked, and I'll have to contact the manufacturer to sort it out.
- I've also contacted my supplier, who seems to have trouble finding out the issue.
- APN settings are set correctly with my mobile carrier.
- Already done a factory reset, didn't fix the issue.
- Put the preferred network type to 3G under Mobile Network settings.
- I flashed CyanogenMod 11S using this tutorial from youtube, /watch?v=QDKOEtN9pbo and downloaded the cm-11.0-XNPH22R-bacon-signed.zip file.
Please can anyone help me with issue, sorry for long wall of text, I really want this phone to work!
Cheers,
You probably should flash another modem & then try. Here

That modem actually proved to be worse for me.. Before I didnt have stable 3G connection.. that modem made my 4G connection worse too. The best, and most stable modem I have found thus far is in the latest nightlies. It is still very very very weak when it comes to 3G connectivity but its better than everything else I have tried. And believe me, I have tried pretty much every rom there is on this forum including XNPH22R, XNPH25R, MahdiRom, CyanHacker, and All the nightlys.
The only one I havent tried is Color OS because I am afraid it will lock my bootloader again.

Cellular Network Drop with Block Sign - Samsung Support refused to accept my Device.

Hello XDA Community,
Please excuse my English i'm not a native speaker.
I bought a Samsung S8+ back in march 2018 and it was working fine till the moment suddenly the signal starting to drop and eventually gives me a block sign, i tried to troubleshoot by the following steps and the result after each one.
1- Restart the device- working for 1 minute and then drop and block in the signal.
2- Rest the network setting- same as the above.
3- Rest all setting- same as the above.
4- Erase the device - same as the above after restore the back up.
5- Erase the device- working for couple of days but as soon i start to install my apps it starts blocking again.
6- Called my carrier ETISALAT - UAE asked them to rest the setting for my sim, they did it but the problem remains..
7- Tried the sim in different device its working fine.
8- Eventually send it to Samsung they format it from their end and worked for a month.
9- The problem came back after 1 month so naturally i sent it immediately to Samsung to see whats wrong but this time i slightly cracked my screed since i drooped it, accordingly they refused to repair unless i pay for new screen and it cost here about 1000 AED so i don't want to do that since the screen is slightly cracked doesn't affect functionality.
So now i have a phone that can do everything a smart phone can do except sending and receiving calls.
can you please support.
Thanks.
Amer
Hi amer I'm not really an expert on network issues but i will advise you to flash the stock firmware and see, if the problem still present then it's a hardware problem.

What firmware you on ? And where did you purchase the phone from ? As the thread you posted on (Cellular strength and throughput) He fixed his by flashing the correct CSC for his region i.e Canada..
There's an XDA guide for carrier switching, that’s what you need to do. I think you might be on some other region, carrier region I’m saying. That's why your losing connection. Here follow this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/snap-guide-flashing-standard-fw-carrier-t3625817
See this link aswell--> https://www.xda-developers.com/xda-...csc-selection-tool-for-the-samsung-galaxy-s8/
