Whenever i connect to a wifi network in my office, my wifi signal turned into gray instead of blue and i cannot able to use google play, i can able to browse but play store, gmail and facebook are not working. Why is my admin blocked my wifi? or is there any problem with my phone i recently updated my phone to jelly bean but before this i have this same problem in ics also. I googled about this problem they all point that i may be disconnected from google services, If that is the problem. How can i connect to google services. Moreover, i can access gmail, facebook, play and all google services in my mobile data packet.
May be blocked this site through proxy. Check same with desktop if you can access it there please check any firewall enable in your mobile.
When ever my mobile not get ip adddress its colored grey in wifi connection.

Hi,
Thanks for your replay but the mentioned sites are opening in my laptop with the same wi-fi signal. In my mobile, it's not connecting. Except facebook it is blocked till evening 7 after 7 i can access facebook but before that i can access google play, gmail, dropbox etc...
Have you checked firewall rules in your mobile? May be blocked by app like avast or droid ??
Yeah I have Avast! But it's not blocking.

Hi,
I have installed avast and recently i rooted my mobile and enabled firewall but before that also i had this problem. Even if i uninstall avast its still not turned into blue. Is there any other way to check which apps are stopping my wifi. Moreover, i have factory reset my mobile for this option after that also it's not connecting. I am sure it's not the ROM problem because the same problem exists in my ics also.

I am a first time Android user (Galaxy S II),switched over from Symbian.
The apps on my phone which require data connection such as Gtalk, Gmail , Android Market, etc are not able to connect via Wifi.
But the stock phone browser works fine on wifi, no problems over there,I am able to surf the web. But when it comes to apps, they do not connect/sync over wifi.
If I disable wifi and use GPRS, apps connect to the internet, and sync in the background. But as soon as I enable wifi apps stop syncing / connectingot he internet.
GPRS plans are expensive and slow compared to my wifi. I want to use wifi to connect the apps also.
How do I do that, is there a setting which I need to enable.
I have to use a proxy server to connect to the wifi netwok, is that the reason the apps are not working. If yes, what is the solution, please help ??????
i have never had this happen but recently my wifi has stopped working all together it just keeps scanning constantly

This *could* very plausibly be the problem.
I know on iPhones, our university's network requires proxy settings. You put in proxy settings centrally, but only some software like safari will work. Most apps jus don't realize they need to go through the proxy.
I'd imagine it'd be more or less the same for android apps.
Have you tried to connect with static IP?
setup the correct time and date and time zone. I noticed that my mod got wrong the cities/GMT by +1h.

First off, I want to do anything I can to avoid flashing a new ROM because I don't have the patience to enter the 101 accounts' password and usernames that I have.
Second, my school's student wifi works on my friend's stock UCLB3 Infuse, my kindle fire, my laptop, and everyone else's devices. However, it does NOT on my Infuse which is running MoM. It connects but the icon stays grey. I can access and download from the play store, and any other google services (gmail, maps, etc) but nothing else. Not the browser, not fb, not instagram, nothing.
Nothing is blocked on their student guest access. Don't even go there.
Just curious - is the phone able to access browser, facebook, instagram etc when using a different wife network or when using the mobile data network connection?

Yes, my home wifi, random public wifi hotspots, mobile data (when it has 2 bars or more) all work fine.
It sounds like an IP address conflict. When you connect at school make sure your phone is grabbing an IP address. Otherwise the DHCP pool there has probably been completely used.

As others said make sure you do have an IP when connected...I had a similar problem in Vegas a while ago...

Let's say I am on vacation and need wifi. The only available wifi hotspots require passwords. Is there an app to get the password and connect to that wifi? Or an app that simply to connects to that secured wifi (without showing you the password) ?
The only ones I have been able to find are fake apps, aka prank/joke apps. They don't do nothing.

I don't think there is one in the playstore but i guess there are 1 or 2 in the world.
What you searching for is Illegal, so that means there isn't a App in the Playstore (And your wasting your time searching playstore for WI-FI hacks Etc.)
Buy a Sim-card and put some money on it and turn 3G/4G on but this is not on every country though.

Probably an issue with your WiFi. Can you open a browser? Does it work?

What do you mean by apps don't work on Wi-Fi? Also, the apps that don't sync, which ones and is back getting syncing enabled.

Means the I get Facebook notifications when mobile n/w is on.....but when I connect to WiFi there is no notifications.... Same with whatsapp also

Hello, I have recently started having the same issues with my F6 not being able to load any background data as well. I believe your solution can lye within the apps that are being used. I Use a stock ROM too for my phone as there are no others out yet for it, and so, I also use ROM toolbox. This morning i could not for the life of me remember what i was doing to make the phone function this way, but remembered that i was dabbling with the DNS and server operations on ROM toolbox the night prier. I was a bit frustrated that there was no easy answer posted anywhere online (google) and had to figure it out myself.. (not so bad) . and since i have been constantly figuring out my ROMS abilities on STOCK I have acquired much knowledge for the F6 root and recover operations. IF you are having problems with any data being transmitted between apps and have been disabling ads through ROM toolbox be sure to make the right changes. For when you wake up to having no data app connection and your clearly connected to the internet it can become jarring.

Hi guys. I am having this headache type issue for many days. Any help would be appreciated.
I live in Pakistan and here Youtube access is blocked but from the last few days play store never connects. I also made a complain to my ISP but they said it is not their fault. The problem according to them is "Play store sending/receiving data from Youtube tunnel." They said me to complain Google dieectly. Many of my friends are facing this issue so this is not my Android problem. I also changed the time zone of my smartphone as read by me in one article but still same issue persists. But, i found something which really worked for some days and now it doesn't. I was reading about it then i found something in which a person described to change my DNS 1 /DNS 2 Address from Wifi - Advanced settings. So i changed DNS 1 to 8.8.8.8 and DNS 2 to 8.8.4.4. I turned off wifi after saving it and then blaah! My google play store worked for some days but from yesterday i am constantly facing this No Connection error. I also remived and added my account. Gmail is also not Syncing. But my play store still works on a VPN. Please help. Here are the screenshots for better guidance

No. But my friend edited hosts file but still same error on his htc explorer. Many peoples are not having an access to play store here. What to do, don't know

I am on wifi. My play store wont work without a vpn. Maybe some firewall blocking access to it. While i use vpn, i can connect. How can i debug the culprit?

Yes because play store routing its data from youtube and youtube is blocked here. Sometimes it access packets directly and it works ...but sometimes. Any solution?
