Wrong Cwm installed, Please Help! - General Questions and Answers

Hi Everybody, i'm new here.
As tittle says, i've installed a wrong cwm recovery on my tab.
My tab is a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 Plus (gt-p6210), and i was using Cyanogenmod 9 with 5.0.2 CWM recovery. but a few days ago, i wanted to upgrade to cyanogenmod 10 version, and i did it. the problem came when wanted to upgrade my CWM.
I downloaded the wrong file, put it in a zip package in my sd card, and install it in recovery mode, device reboot, all ok. then i re-installed the ROM ( with zip file), and all was baadd, fully unstable.
So, i try to reinstall the old CWM and i cant.
Plz Help!! i was all weekend searching information with no success.

hope this helps

[Q] signature verification fail?

Hello,
I'm new to the forums and have been trying to root my galaxy tab 2 10.1 4.0.4.... I have been through all the other posts and downloaded all the programs that were needed for rooting but when I try to install the rooting file from the recovery screen I get signature verification fail every time I've 're downloaded and everything many times from many different forums and still getting the same problems, can any one help me out with this please and if so step by step very new and still learning.
Thanks
What recovery program did you install?
Usually when you get that error is because you are trying to install the rom from the stock recovery.
I know when I first tried installing CWM recovery onto my Tab2 it didn't take at first and found that not checking "Auto-reboot" in Odin and manually rebooting the device when done worked.
Disable signature verification. if that doesn't work then download zipsigner from play and sign the zip file
Sounds like you're trying to flash from stock recovery, which isn't going to work. You need to be sure you are using a custom recovery, otherwise, you'll keep getting the error.
May be try reflashing cwm version 6.0.1.0 from odin pc for your tab model number then put rooting file in internal and external sd and try flashing from both ,may be one will work

[Q] Odin3: checkboxes are disabled

Hi there,
I got a brand new Galaxy Note 10.1 this weekend and tried to get my hands dirty on rooting it just yesterday. So I got Odin3, CWM and SuperSU, installed Samsung Kies and thought I were good to go. Unfortunately, after doing what some guides tell me to do, I'm still on official device status.
Before I go into detail: I had to manually edit the Odin3 INI file to force the device NOT to auto reboot after flashing the CWM - the checkboxes in Odin3 were disabled and greyed out. Can someone explain why and if that might be the cause of my problems?

Thanks, but that didn't help either. Auto-Rebooting brings me back to stock, device state official. I tried to install CWM-SuperSU-v0.99.zip manually via CWM, but a reboot later it's still "official" and apps that need root access either run forever ("checking...") or freeze the tablet. But since this is getting off topic, I might be better off asking in other threads.
Thanks anyway!

Then you are not understanding instructions .
What is your intention .
Root or flash a stock rom .
Root via either method i posted .
Stock rom direct flash tar file via Odin.
ODIN flash is a tar not a zip.
Custom rom via a rooted phone with recovery zip file from ext sd card or sd card .

Come on, the instructions are pretty clear boot in Odin Mode, click a button in Odin, let it restart, finished. The SuperSU zip file is from another guide, where the tar-file didn't include it. So I tried to manually install it via CWM (I think it was 6.0.2.7 or 8), but that didn't work either. Whenever the device reboots, Root Checker Basic runs for a few minutes and says "Sorry, the device does not have proper root access". If it helps, I used this guide:
http://www.android-hilfe.de/root-cu...ly-root-fuer-anfaenger-n8000-n8010-n8020.html
Even though it's in german, the screenshots are pretty obvious.
Sorry never ever seen any method with those sort of instructions.Personally not a clue what they mean .
I have used two methods as posted to root note 4 or 5 times. Rooted standard Samsung phones with cwm and root hundreds of times without any of those instructions.
Even run one standard cwm root via Odin to allow a specific rom install followed by a reroot using TWRP this afternoon .

Thanks to Darkman, I finally got it. The problem was the current firmware update from Samsung. I reflashed with the version from January, followed his tutorial (like I did before - wow, after doing this 3-4 times, it certainly becomes second nature), and BAM, the device is rooted. Thanks anyway JJegan

Hi everyone.
I have the same problem!
I always used odin to flash all of my samsung devices; and i tryed the TWRP, the CWM touch and no-touch, but have the same issue. The stock recovery always shown!
Can someone help us please ? Thank a lot
(Sorry for my poor english - French user :cyclops: )
Same here...
I am sorry to say that there is no absoulute confirmed version of CW or CWM for the T310
I for once would wish we'd have this update come, I want ro change my boot animation.
PS Rom Manager by CWM in Playstore, wont work since CWM is not in the T310
Did you tried again?
Same issues for me too on the T310
I also just bought a Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 tonight (T310). Running 4.2.2. CWM r#4 wouldn't load the SD card to allow me to load the root tarball. It also still had the display issues. Then, I loaded TRWP, which worked and allowed for root access, but pretty much nothing else.
I thought I might try CWM one more time before I leave for 10 days, but it looks like I am stuck with TWRP right now. Too bad too, since I wanted to install the unofficial CM version (but I think CM requires CWM), or at least just a stock rom. This Samsung loaded garbage they call a ROM is messy and slow, it annoys me.
Thanks to the all the developers who put so much into these projects.

[Q] How to replace CWM with TWRP ?

Guys i try to flash the official firmware of Asus's 4.2.1 from my sdcard using cwm, but cwm gives an error (error 7). I searched up and found out (from Max, high on andoid) that cwm checks for "asserts" and thinks that the firmware i downloaded is not compatible with my tab. Max said that TWRP doesn't check for anything and just flashes whatever i ask him to do, in brief i need to replace CWM with Twrp but don't know how, help me out please. I've been serching for 4 hours and im way too exhausted.
P.S. - I'm not wrong, CWM is wrong that it's not compatible, i got the firmware from Asus's website.

Did you extract the first zip?
Asus puts their firmware inside another zip, so you have a zip inside a zip.
You need the zip that is inside it, if that makes sense.
I did, I tried to flash the "inner" zip file, no way, I checked everyway, I did wipe dalvik cache and tried to flash that way, didn't work neither, I just need to get rid of cwm and start using twrp

Cant remove Cyanogen - its a plague! Please help!

So i decided to install Cyanogen on my Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 (sm-t210) because it was refusing to update stock from 4.1 for what ever reason (even kies wouldnt update it)
I rooted, installed cyanogen and TWRP and that was all cool n groovy.
I noticed cyanogenmod was a bit buggy and would freeze quite a bit when running so i wanted to flash another rom. I downloaded a few roms to the downloads folder and tried to flash them in TWRP but they didn't show up. All i could see in the download folder was the cyanogenmod zip and the gapps file. I deleted these and continued to attempt a re-rom... upon opening TWRP there were the files back again!
I can't delete the dam files and anything i seem to download onto the tablet disappears once the tablet restarts.
So i decided to try the ODIN method, grab the stock firmware (i tried 2) and flash them... nope... cyanogenmod still on the tablet. So i tried to flash CWM and that wont flash... TWRP is persistant! So i decided to grab the pit file and flash that along with the stock firmware in odin and still cyanogenmod is on the tablet... so i done a nand wipe and pit and stock firmware and still i cant get the dam cyanogenmod off the tablet!
I remember seeing a loading bar in download mode when i was install cyanogenmod which told me something was uploading to the device but any time its going through the works in odin now i dont see a loading bar on the tablet. Odin is telling me its succeded though.
What on earth am i doing wrong here? I've been pulling my hair out for the last 3 days with this crap!:crying::crying::crying:
Odin 3.0.7 (tried 2 usb cables)
