[Q] LG P920 USB Debugging Error..!! - LG Optimus 3D

Hi friends..!!
I'm having LG Optimus 3D P920. Android Version is 2.3.5. It's factory unlocked but not Rooted. Everything on this phone is working perfect. The only issue is USB DEBUGGING when I try to connect the phone to my PC/ Laptop for data transfer.
--> I've turned the USB Debugging option ON.
--> After that I turned on the Mass Storage option.
--> I even tried it vice verse.
Once the Mass Storage is ON, the USB Debugging automatically turns OFF. If I again turn ON USB Debugging, then Mass Storage turns OFF.USB Debugging[/B] :silly:
I'm looking to upgrade the phone to either ICS or JB, but first of all I need your help in fixing the error related to the USB Debugging.
Please do the needful so that I can proceed further and upgrade the android version.

why do you need usb storage and debug enabled at the same time?
Just copy whatever files you need to your phone and then enable usb debugging after.

take a look at this thread. its for a other device, but should work for us too.

Reason: I'm not able to transfer the data via Mass Storage, nor I'm able to root the phone via USA Debugging.

Can't you:
1. Turn mass storage on - transfer all data that you want
2. Turn usb debugging on - root the phone
?

sorry i didnt read your first post carefully.
if you having problems with usb remove all your lg driver, reboot an install the latest.
if you have the same problem again, read the link in my first post carefully an make the changes on your pc.
so your final target is to upgrade to jb or ics.
for both you dont need a rooted phone or usb debuging or as massStorage.
if prefer ics, it has full 3d support.
for upgrade to ics follow this tutorial

[Q] What am I missing about USB debugging mode?

I just got my Skyrocket and I want to root it. I cannot get it to go into usb debugging mode. I checked the box in the Development setting for usb debugging. When I plug in the usb cable it has a message on the notifcation bar asking to select to copy files from the usb. If I do the same thing on my Captivate with the same PC and usb cable it goes into usb debugging mode. What am I doing wrong?
Your doin nothing wrong... if you have the box checked your in debuging mode. Just dont select the mount to copy files option.....if you checked debuging plug in the phone then root it your good
Thanks. It must be the drivers on my PC then. I cannot find any i727 drivers so I am using the i777 drivers. Are these the right drivers?
it worked for me. i had the gs2 drivers installed bought the skyrocket pluged it in it worked but here read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19475929
other people were reporting driver issues but found a solution
I found a different usb driver file (V1_3_2200_0) and it worked fine. Thanks for your help.

When I first got my Gs2 LTE and before I rooted it etc. I connected with Kies on my PC. part of the process involved d/ling the proper drivers. At least it'll let you know if the connection is working.

Did I download the proper drivers? And are these the phone drivers or for my PC?

NO. It's kies that you load onto your PC. (It takes a while for it to install itself). I can't remember all the steps but it guides you. Then you connect up via USB and away you go.

If you can connect with Kies then you have the right drivers. You've got USB debugging enabled in settings/developer options. Now when you connect to the pc usb port you should get a popup on the status bar pull that down and hit turn on USB storage. That should be all you need.
OH, I forgot you're still on Gingerbread and unrooted ..is that right?

If i have my usb cable in it pops up "usb connected. remove the cable" if i do that and press "ok" takes me back to "connect storage to pc" if i click it then it says "turn usb debugging off" click ok then says "connect usb to mass storage" ido that and it takes me right back to the "connect storage to pc"

Ya that pull down thing is probably only in ICS..
OK at any time during this connection process are you able to look at you phone storage via Windows Explorer on your PC?
Here's the rest from my manual!
1. From the Home screen, tap  Settings  Wireless
and network  USB utilities Connect storage to PC.
2. Connect a USB cable from your phone to your PC.
3. Tap Connect USB storage. Both the phone and computer
display icons to show that the device is mounted. As soon
as the connection is established a drive letter is assigned to
the phone’s storage device.
A pop-up window displays on the PC when connected.
4. Open the folder to view files.
5. Copy files between your PC and your memory card as
required.
6. To exit, tap Disconnect storage from PC.

Sounds familiar. Have you installed busy box?
Roms are all phone model dependent. I'm using SkyIcs.

[Q] Can not connect HTC M8 to windows7 in PTP mode for android debug

Hi all,
I'm trying to connect my htc one m8 to my pc(windows 7) for usb debugging but it can be seen in devices section on eclipse as in offline mode.
I can not see the RSA permission popup which should generally be seen on device on first connection.
Device connects only in MTP mode and i can not find an option to change it to PTP mode(which i read is important to connect to eclipse)
I have already installed HTC sync manager(device driver for HTC).
Can some one help me out in this please..?
Thank you in advance.
Mohan.
Try going into storage and then disable any way you can transfer files to your phone. Unplug your device, then plug it in again. And see if it works, usually helped me when I had to get android debugging working with my HTC Desire X

Sorry but it did not help,
Do you know a way to toggle between MTP and PTP modes..?
I can not find the option to do so.
Sorry friend, no I don't.
Have you tried to turn of debugging mode and enabling it again after disconnecting device and connecting it.

Can't access on pc

Hi i can't access my files on my pc (it is unlocked) not even sync for music
also it appears as a audio device in devices and drives
Have you set USB settings to MTP? Otherwise this might help: http://www.howtogeek.com/195607/how...evice-to-show-up-in-file-explorer-if-it-isnt/

yes to all :/
The phone used to work with the same computer and USB cable?
If ur rooted install multirom and install cm13 as secondary os.. then connect to ur pc while ur in cm13 it will detect the driver after that unstall cm 13 and connect as u do normally
like if worked
hey i found away around it thx though!
How did you fix the problem?
"hey i found away around it thx though!"
But why in the name of all that's holy would you ask the question and then not share the answer for others who regularly have the same problem? Keeping info to yourself is the best way of maintaining your "zero thanks" status...
oh sorry for not sharing what i did to solve the problem! here is what i did!
1. connect phone to pc
2. unlock
3. swipe down and touch the notification that says "usb for charging touch for more options"
4. select the option you want

USB Connection Issues

I just rooted my s8+ with partcyborg's samfail and everything is working great except the usb isn't being recognized. I can see my phone on my computer and I can move files to my desktop but on my phone I get this message - "The connected device is unable to access data on this device. Reconnect the USB cable and try again." I have USB debugging enabled in settings. I'm using windows 10. ADB is up to date. I installed the samsung USB drivers. The device isn't recognized in kies or smart switch.
I'm at a total loss here. Any ideas? Could this be related to the 80% battery bug I was seeing? It's been at 80% for a while now.
Apologies if this is an obvious fix. I haven't rooted a phone since kitkat I looked around but the other threads weren't helpful.

So what do you wanna do with your USB connection? Just MTP (e.g. transfer files like you would when connecting a USB-Stick to PC) or you wanna do some ADB operations?
If you just want to transfer files, there's no need to have USB-Debugging enabled (in fact this is kind of a security risk when you connect to an unknown pc)

Yeah I've been trying to use drivedroid but it says there are issues with the mass storage. I'm going to send the dev a message with the ROM and see if there's anything he can do. For now just gonna flash back to stock
