Looking for the following apps - Android Apps and Games

I am looking for 4od version 1.1 and the latest version of bbc Iplayer, I think it is version 1.5
Does anyone know how to download geo restricted apps like these from google play from within the US?
I tried blackmart and it really made my phone (razr maxx HD 32gig model) run so slow and it became unusable
I tried aptoide and they do not have 4od 1.1
Rooting my phone is not an option but I really enjoy watching UK tv
Thank you for any help the great and wise members here can give me.

Try with tunnel bear, but use it on wifi, it makes you phone thinks it's on US, UK or Canada, i downloaded the Vudu app this way

When you say use it on wifi I am not sure what you mean, can you explain, if you mean use it when connected to WIFI that is what I have been doing. I have a VPN that I use called http://www.featvpn.com and doing a xmyip will say I am in the UK but it will still not allow me to download the app. Is tunnel bear different or is there a specific order I need to follow

no one?

[APP] BBC iPlayer for Android (and iPhone/iPad)

http://www.metro.co.uk/tech/855057-bbc-to-launch-iplayer-for-ipad-and-android
http://www.worldtvpc.com/blog/bbc-launched-iplayer-apps-ipad-android/
The BBC have released an iPlayer app free on the market, it does exactly as the mobile site for Android does, it streams programs to our phones.
It only works for Android 2.2+ because of the need for flash player.
Try it out!
Download link from the Market
Can anyone post the .apk file for this app? I am unable to download it and have tried market enabler and that isn't working either. Thanks in advance for any help.
If you can't post the download file, maybe some advice for where it might be found.
unable to download in Singapore.
Go to this page the apk is there :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=956473&page=2
Isn't this wifi-only; not available via 3G?
Any chance to stream out of UK? Maybe TOR?
After install I get "BBC I Player is only available in the UK " This post should explain this so others like me ( in the USA ) wont waste their time downloading it !!!!!
I have had this for a few days now. sad to say on my galaxy S over wifi I can only play low bandwidth?! ridiculous
Personally I am not a fan of the app, and I will use the website instead. Streaming is choppy on the app, and perfect on the website.
Also, no download options! The Nokia N8 (I think) has had this since last year...
Just a FYI to everyone (as the news post makes it sound like you can stream over mobile network...):
This only works over WiFi (it will not stream over mobile networks)
You cannot pre-download anything.
If you do stream over WiFi the quality isn't very good.
If you want to see bbc iplayer content on your mobile, the best way is still to use their website.
I can confirm its not working on my Sprint Evo. Says on market website item not available for my carrier, and from phone it doesnt even show up. Ashame because i like BBC programming.

It'll only work in the UK.
Any way to spoof location?
I'm using it in Spain via a VPN. I think the quality is pretty good. Perfectly watchable.
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
What a shame it only works on uk
Any way to fake location to enjoy this app?
If you set up a VPN, it works fine over wifi.

I don't know how a VPN would help, unless you were already in that region, but I wonder about a legit (is there such thing? proxy app for Android... is there one to test?
I live in Spain and use a VPN that gives the phone a British IP address and it works. There are plenty of companies that offer this service.

Is the app still terrible? Didn't bother with it after testing it for 10 minutes. It was awful.

[Q] Any way to get the Android Tablet Market outside the US?

From what I've read the Xoom should display Tablet specific apps in the market. It doesn't on my (imported) Xoom. I just get the regular market. No tablet specific apps.
I guess this has something to do with the fact that I'm using the Xoom outside the US. Somehow there's a restriction to using the Xoom elsewhere. For example it also isn't possible to install Google books.
Anyone found a work around for this? Setting the country parameters in the settings or Gmail accounts doesn't work. Maybe the Market Enabler app can do the job?
I bought a wifi only xoom from US and I also don't have the Featured tablet aps in Market, but if I search apps then it finds tablet apps just fine.

aha... but does it contain all tablet apps? For example I noticed that the YouTube player for Honeycomb wasn't installed on my Xoom. I read somewhere that I could download it from the market, but my market only contains the non tablet version (2.x vs 3.x for honeycomb)... So I wondered if I got a non working tablet market.
Youtube app wasn't on my Xoom also at first, but when I connected to internet it magically appeared under apps.
As far as I know, the honeycomb version has never been in android market.
I am traveling in China now and the hotel has a Hong Kong IP address, so unfortunately I can't read most of the things in the market. When I go into the office we have a Singapore IP address, so at least I can read it! I tried market enabler, but I don't think it will work on the wifi only model...

[Q] Anyone else unable to purchase apps?

I'll copy/paste from my issue on Google's tracker:
I have an Asus EEE Pad Transformer (TF101) with the latest update: HRI66.US_epad-8.2.3.13-20110511
When visiting the Market, I am only presented with Free apps in the Featured section of each category.
I can search for, and find, paid apps. However I cannot purchase them. It returns the following error: The item you were attempting to purchase could not be found.
I am able to purchase some of the apps with my Phone. I can either go to the web based market and purchase them for my T-Mobile HTC Vision, or I can do it on the phone itself. Then I can install those apps in my Asus Transformer.
However, I can't do this workaround with Honeycomb-only applications because I cannot buy them on the phone first.
I'm located in Puerto Rico. I talked to the guy that makes Reddita, and he said that his apps is setup to be available everywhere

Anyone else have a similar issue? If so, please star my issue on Google's tracker: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=16845&colspec=ID%20Type%20Status%20Owner%20Summary%20Stars
Screenshots:

I'm still not sure if it's a location based problem or if it's related to something else. Like I said above, the guy from Reddita says that his app is configured to not discriminate by country. Also, he says that he has sold the app to other Transformer users before.
i was able to purchase apps the last time I checked which was after the 8.2.3.9 update

I would hope not. Unfortunately, so far my theory points towards a location restriction specific to Honeycomb devices.
No problems on my Transformer but a while back I had problems buying from my Adam. I went into my Google checkout account settings and just reentered the same credit card info and saved it. I was able to buy apps after that.

Thanks for the tip. Tried that (and adding a completely different CC) and it didn't work.
I can however buy apps for my other two devices (G2 and Nexus S).
I bought my Asus Transformer TF101 from Hong Kong, now live in Malaysia, both Malaysia and Hong Kong are in the list that can buy apps, but appear that i'm same with you.
Just can view apps, appear "The item that you request are not found" bla bla...
Free apps can be use. no problem, btw, i have a Motorola Xoom with me too, same issues. Sad.... duh....
somehow my android phone can purchase apps, i turn to my web page android market, and i noticed that, due to i have 5 device registered to my google account, i can buy apps for my phones, but not for my device that dont have "CARRIER" bound with it. This makes our wifi only device cant purchase apps.
i have mailed google about this issues, but nothing yet, dissapointed, hopes anyone get some solutions. thanks.
Market Enabler, available on the Android Market. Buy the paid version for better features.
I had the problem that I couldn't purchase apps that were offered in a different currency than US$ with my AmEx. I had to use a different credit card (VISA) and then it worked.
I have the same problem, it started yesterday. I'm from Puerto Rico.
Suddenly, the quantity of available apps is much less... I can't find Adobe apps, Angry Birds games, Taptu, none of the Google apps!!
When I go to "My Apps" it only shows those installed apps that are still available to search on the market, but the others are not (even if they are currently installed, were installed before)
If I enable the Hotspot on the HTC EVO and connect the TF to it via WiFi, after re-opening the market, it can see all apps as before, including those in "My Apps" section. This happens because the IP provided by Sprint is USA based. Also, if the TF gets connected to the local router, then the market apps availability gets downgraded again...
So, this appear to be a location based issue... but, how it's possible that all those high profile apps that were available just days ago now are not? I did a factory reset today for troubleshooting... and now can't install Adobe Flash and those apps mentioned above

I would love just to only get rooted and continuing receive Asus OTA updates, can i?
I check and i found the is no way, please help.
Hi (Cant purchase apps in market)
Helo I am also from Puerto Rico Im currently using Samsung Galaxy i9000 (International version) Im currently facing with this error since some time now. I been looking on net since long ago day and night and nothing just crap and no answer from google. I tried froyo gingerbread and iCS version from Teamhacksung and nothing. I tried market enabler (both versions in market) i can see paid apps just well I can download the free apps just fine but in paid apps *the item you were attempting to purchase could not be found* Im getting piss off already before was working just fine.
Looking extensively on net i found this video http://forum.xda-developers.com/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=13888035 ---->error sorry http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDZtQWt_8TQ
Sorry is not in English but the guy is using something called Gae proxy that seems an alternative that let you buy the apps. Anyway, for me this no worked I tried several times and still it no let me buy the app or just the market no open. I tried via wifi/data plan (3g) and nothing. I did test with pal he has hero and career from usa and he can buy just fine. I tried with my boss who has Captive and Xoom both failed in market with the same error.
This is very disappointed situation that is taking too much already. I have several friends and ppl I know dropping android just because of that. If i keep having it I will do the same or keep forced to get pirated apps wich i no want.
Still waiting for any fix or google response.....
English not my primary language.

I can assure you that even if you're rooted and running non-stock ROM, Market Enabler will not help if you're on a wifi-only tablet. I've been trying to find a solution to this problem since the day I got my WiFi-only Transformer but to no avail. Without any development or hacking knowledge whatsoever, there's only so much that I can try.
What I've found out though is this. The wifi-only version appears to track your location differently than the 3G version such that Market Enabler won't work. I have tried VPN (either direct on device or sharing a VPN connection over WIFI, if that makes a difference at all...), I've tried some location spoofing apps. Force stopped the market app and cleared data and cache and trying the VPN and location spoofing again in various combos, unsuccessfully. Also tried turning off all location services. Tried Market Enabler of course and I have the paid version of that too.
What works though is if I'm in another country, and it's a market-supported country, I'd be able to purchase apps without doing anything extra. I can also buy apps through my phone which has Market Enabler working as intended and once purchased I can install the bought apps through the My Apps screen on my Transformer. This is my current workaround, but I'm still very much stuck when I need to buy tablet-only apps which I can't purchase from my phone. Similarly, I can buy apps from the android market website, but only those I can install to the phone and I won't be able to install direct to tablet unless it's a free app.
Note: I live in a non-market-supported country. I've had this problem since Honeycomb, and now I'm on ICS and also using the rebranded Google Play. This problem seems to apply to all WiFi-only tablets, not just the Asus Transformer.
The only reason why there doesn't seem to be much of an outcry on this is because people chiming in that they can buy apps when they live in a market-supported country, so people think the problem is solved.

[Q] Market Access No Longer work: This Item is not compatible with your device

I'm using Atrix with 2.2.2 (Hongkong stock version). As located in China(carrier:China Mobile) i can't buy apps in the Market so i use Market Access to fake as a T-Mobile customer.
This worked just fine until the the autoupdate of the Market. Though i still can view those "top-paid" apps, when i want to buy it, the Market just shows: "the item you were attempting to purchase could not be found".
p.s. which confused me most is that i just bought Samurai II: Vengeance on Aug.9th, did google changed its Market filter policy(or technical measure) in recent days?
Not sure, but I know I reverted to the old version of the market (I'm Canadian, dl'd the new version from xda) because it was super slow and having trouble with updates (paket version not right, etc....) after working good for the first few weeks...
Made it worked again~!
Actually i don't know how it happens. as mentioned above, i always use Market Access to fake as a T-mobile user, but why my devices are incompatible with those paid apps recently? ?
i suspect google may locate me with my ip address when the phone use EDGE or WIFI conncetion in addition to read SIM carrier identity. So i bought a VPN account, re-signin Market both through the web and the phone.
Guess what happend? I can buy apps again~! Right now i'm enjoying Spectral Souls on my Atirx 4G, it's awesome!

modify the primevideo apk to change its region?

I want to run the prime video app twice. Once for the US and once for UK. Is there a way to modify the existing apk?
I am using the Shield Pro 2019.
Any help is highly appreciated!
you can use xprivacy to change your country
is that some sort of vpn? because that's not what i'm after. I already have a vpn provider. Even when I connect to the UK it still gives me only the content of the USA.
I don't use AmazonĀ® AT ALL, so excuse my ignorance, but when your saying the "primevideo apk" I am assuming your talking about, an app for Android written by Amazon Inc specifically to play videos hosted on one of there services?
If I am correct I would imagine that Amazon has taken quite a few steps to lock down one of there apps pretty's well. I would almost suggest that you use two different phones and only connect one via WiFi and a VPN to connect the foreign phone. AmazonĀ® has there spies everywhere.
Actually, I have already had two prime video apps side-by-side. The modified one however expired. I can't seem to log in anymore. It was a bit outdated. So I'm trying to find a solution. I use a Shield Pro 2019 and want 2 Amazon Prime Video apps side by side.
