Searched (everywhere) and can't find an answer to this. In email client, General settings, there's an option about asking to show picures. I want to always see pictures (yes, I know jpegs can have viruses). The check box is not visible, and there is no way to toggle the setting, hence I have to click on "show pictures" in every email from a new sender. This was true both before unlocking and after switching to Chromi.
Does anyone else see the checkbox in the settings? Does anyone know a way to hack this with root priveleges?
Thanks, Bob Graham
The only way I know is to click show pictures and then click show pictures from this sender for each email which would eventually get you what you want. :cyclops: :silly:

Well, it's not standard Android email client. It must be an Asus customization for our "benefit". There has to be a way to circumvent this "helpful" behavior.

Anyway to change outlook sent items to display TO instead of FROM?
I think that is absolutely USELESS and can't believe MS has been doing that for all these years. We all know who sent the mail, we need to see where is it going. Is there a registry key or something?
Considering TXT messages show received u would think it would be a registry..
Thanks,
Sid
I'm sorry but i'm missing your point.
When you send an email you can see who you sent it to
When you receive an email you can see who sent it to you...
where's the problem?
when i send a message from microsoft mobile messaging and i choose receive as the sort, only my name is present. when i choose from, my name is again the only one present.
i confirmed this on both my Vogue, Raphael and 700wx. The only way i can see who i sent the message to is by opening the actual message.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=48598 i started a thread here and got confirmation i'm not the only one.
lol this is strange.
I never stumbled into this kind of problem. I see exactly what needs to be seen on my polaris.
I understand you ran through the whole menu to check for options concerning this thing right?

Yes i checked the settings. What's weird is that all of my devices to do this, but yours doesn't.. makes me wonder if it is because of US windows mobile vs EU windows mobile....
thanks,
sid
when i look at my sent items for my exchange email i notice that regardless if i choose received or from it shows only me. Received = when message was sent. From = who sent the message. Both displays me as the sender instead of displaying who i sent it too.
i think the problem might be with messaging sync to an exchange server since this doesn't happen with txt messaging. can someone else confirm this that is using a non US based ROM?
Thanks,
Sid
Solution
Hi all
This is probably well and truly solved by now looking at the date but in case anyone googles this the fix is:
Open your sent items folder.
Now look at the tool bar and you will see a small text box with messages in it.
There is a drop down arrow that will display a menu when its click on.
select "sent to" to resolve the issue.
Regards Paul

Thank God someone else has this problem. I think those that say they don't have this problem don't actually understand what you're saying.
This has been bugging me for years, and is one of those things that proves MS doesn't really give a crap about WM.
How to Fix This
Open your Sent Box
Right-click on the bar that shows "Arranged by:"
In the menu that opens, click "Custom..."
Under "Description," Click the "Fields..." button
Under "Available Fields," scroll down until you see "To"
Select "To" and click the "Add" button
"To" should appear under "Show these fields in this order:"
Select "To" and press "Move Up" or "Move Down" until it appears in the order in which you want to see it.

There's a cab floating around that clears dangling notifications but I don't remember the name of it.
If its e-mail, check your deleted folder for the welcome email and delete it.

but what does this ?
It repairs or deletes any SMS/email/MMS account. Install it and run the program. Don't worry - it won't delete anything you don't tell it to.
Thanks a lot for your help
I have an exchange account that I linked with my Tab and I have been looking for the contact's birth date... which I haven't found in the contact application

Do you press the "More" button at the bottom of the contact info?
If it's not showing up automatically then Exchange may not be synchronising that information. If that's the case I'm not sure how you'd force it to do so.

Of course I checked.... Exchange can synchronize birthdays on Outlook, pocket outlook, and some other softwares. From what I read around it seems Android doenst support this
Can you believe it ? The dumbest of my previous dumb phones support birthdays. My WM device did. And Android doesn't ? Honestly I am getting closer and closer to a deal breaker. A contact app without birthdays ? What's next ? A Phone without a dialer... ? I hope it;s not true
I have to check Touchdown, maybe it's available there...

You can define the birth date in the contact's device and then you can link that contact to your exchange's contact.

Seriously... that sucks...
I have around 1,200 contacts... This is ridiculous... Android is still not ready for prime time in its v2.2
Anybody can advise an alternative contact app that can replace the original one and allows to see the birthday field ? (And modify it...)
I heard MIUI ROM allows it so maybe there is a way to extract its contact app (?)
Actually I may give "Go contacts" a try
Anybody has tried and can compare with Samsung's contact manager ?

Tried Go SMS and same thing, no option to change user agent even though many sites etc say it can?
Is it possible the phone doesn't support this so the option simple doesnt show in the app?
I havent installed GO sms right now on phone. But, if I have good memory, go to settings, then mms? and then on the end of page that is. Or look at item "sendig messages"? There is you looking for.
I receive an e-mail for each time someone quotes me and I would like to know where to navigate to disable this on XDA. Thanks.
i.g. "eagleeyetom mentioned you at XDA-Developers."
