Anyway to change outlook sent items to display TO instead of FROM? - General Questions and Answers

Anyway to change outlook sent items to display TO instead of FROM?
I think that is absolutely USELESS and can't believe MS has been doing that for all these years. We all know who sent the mail, we need to see where is it going. Is there a registry key or something?
Considering TXT messages show received u would think it would be a registry..
Thanks,
Sid

I'm sorry but i'm missing your point.
When you send an email you can see who you sent it to
When you receive an email you can see who sent it to you...
where's the problem?

when i send a message from microsoft mobile messaging and i choose receive as the sort, only my name is present. when i choose from, my name is again the only one present.
i confirmed this on both my Vogue, Raphael and 700wx. The only way i can see who i sent the message to is by opening the actual message.

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=48598 i started a thread here and got confirmation i'm not the only one.

lol this is strange.
I never stumbled into this kind of problem. I see exactly what needs to be seen on my polaris.
I understand you ran through the whole menu to check for options concerning this thing right?

Yes i checked the settings. What's weird is that all of my devices to do this, but yours doesn't.. makes me wonder if it is because of US windows mobile vs EU windows mobile....
thanks,
sid

when i look at my sent items for my exchange email i notice that regardless if i choose received or from it shows only me. Received = when message was sent. From = who sent the message. Both displays me as the sender instead of displaying who i sent it too.

i think the problem might be with messaging sync to an exchange server since this doesn't happen with txt messaging. can someone else confirm this that is using a non US based ROM?
Thanks,
Sid

Solution
Hi all
This is probably well and truly solved by now looking at the date but in case anyone googles this the fix is:
Open your sent items folder.
Now look at the tool bar and you will see a small text box with messages in it.
There is a drop down arrow that will display a menu when its click on.
select "sent to" to resolve the issue.
Regards Paul

Thank God someone else has this problem. I think those that say they don't have this problem don't actually understand what you're saying.
This has been bugging me for years, and is one of those things that proves MS doesn't really give a crap about WM.

How to Fix This
Open your Sent Box
Right-click on the bar that shows "Arranged by:"
In the menu that opens, click "Custom..."
Under "Description," Click the "Fields..." button
Under "Available Fields," scroll down until you see "To"
Select "To" and click the "Add" button
"To" should appear under "Show these fields in this order:"
Select "To" and press "Move Up" or "Move Down" until it appears in the order in which you want to see it.

Wm6.1 Sms Inbox Question?

in wm6 when i went into messages/sms/inbox there would be a complete list of messages sent to me and they would be individual irrespective of where they came from.
now in wm6.1 there is a list of received messages but if i get another message from the same number it puts it inside itself and calls itself
"conversation with" so if you click on a message from 12345 it opens up loads of other messages from 12345.
when inside you can't delete individual messages but you can delete the first message in the inbox but then that deletes all messages in its sub folder.
my question is simple...can anyone advise how i can go back to using the wm6 version of messages/inbox?????
i know theres a boffin out there with the answer
Yep - take a look here and install the "Disable SMS threading" cab file
Hope this helps

Or, you could get off your high horse and help the poor geezer.
thanx dontpanic you are elevated to a god like status in my eyes.....
only upgraded the rom 4 days ago and didn't know this particular thing was called "sms threading" (thats why i couldn't do a search orb3000) i just knew it was bloody irritating..found the cab as you helpfully advised and it works tip top so i'm a happy bunny again.....(amazing how the little things bug us)
Hehe! Its the first CAB I install on a new 6.1 ROM
Simple switch ...
This is how I did it:
Goto --> start-settings
Then click on the "system" tab at bottom
Look for "Text Messaging" and select
Here you can change from "Threaded" to "Classic"
Hope this helps .

Texting more than one person

Can anyone tell me how to send a text message to a group of people. I have contacts that are assigned to a similar category. I would like to be able to seen everyone in a picked category a single text message and everyone get it. How do I do this on the Fuze?
GroupSMS does this nicely.

You can also look at trinket software they have an application called power sms...it cost but well worth it...they also have a trial version.
easy and free.
open up blank text. Hit menu, then Add Recipient, repeat

Though I do wish there was a way to select multiple people at a time instead of selecting them one by one.
Also, since this topic is somewhat relevant, anyone try to send a group message, but then not all the recipients receive the texts at the same time? Some recipients received the text a few hours later, or some the day after..
The delay could be caused by the different carriers your friends are on.

I was gonna say that as well, but the original post mentioned that the contacts were arranged in categories and they would like to send messages based on that.
But yeah, your right, easy and free.

Email Inbox View..

I am wondering.. i recieve quite a few emails throughout the day and at some point i like to go back to specific mail i recieved earlier and re-read it.. when i open the inbox to show all my mail, i am wondering if there was a way to change the way i view the actual inbox on my device? I am looking for something similar to the blackberry look where it only takes up one line instead of a few that way i can see more emails in the inbox without having to scroll down?
Thanks for any help.
i just looked through the menus and didn't see anything :\
Yeah unfortunately theres no option to change it.. I thought there may be some kind of tweak or hack that you can you perform to change it to some kind of list format
Email Inbox View
I heard there are alternative e-mail programs you can run on your device that will give you more of a " outlook feel ", with pre-view pane, etc
Anybody know what they are called and where to find them, I think something like that would solve everybodies problem
profimail and flexmail are 2 mail-clients i know. both are commercial but worth their price
my friend has a diamond on sprint and i saw his message box was sort of zoomed out and smaller. any idea on how to get something like that?
EDIT: FOUND IT! Go to start, settings, system, screen, text size and change the text size to make more emails show up in your inbox not a fix for the issue at hand but it made me happy

No delete email in preview?

I find it strange that you cannot delete emails in the preview.
I suggest that if we do a circle-movement with our fingers then it could go to trashcan or just a "delete email"-icon.
Is there any such mod?
I would like an option like this too.
Even replacing the "more" softkey by a "delete" would be great.

I'd like to have this too,... this will improve usability of the device
It is so annoying that I can't delete crap quickly and have to open all messages to delete something.... I would love to see this too...
Me too!
Can't understand why this wasn't standard.
Yes, I would like that also.
Me three! Very annoying
The fact that you have to open it in the WM email app to mark it as read is annoying for me, rather than just reading it in Sense like a SMS does!
Delete in preview mode
Me too... willing to donate, if someone can build the cab to allow this....
Steve
Would also love this

This is more annoying than not having delete softkey in the preview, but if someone can tweak them both that would be nice.
I would love that kind of option!
Some times I wonder if the people who develops those applications use the applications themselves. It happens with SMS reader but not with the E-Mail reader...
I would like to have this function....but we know how stupid can be developers at htc......
I think this can be achieved with SSMaHo and a MortScript. Search for them.
It's unbelievable that a company like HTC is not capable to develope an emailprogramm witch such a basic function.
I'm sure there are people on this forum who are capable to create this function in a CAB file. Thanks in advance
I presume there's no solution to this annoying little problem then?
Or just install Cookies Home Tab 2.0 and use the email widget which gives you the ability to delete emails directly from the widget Basically lets you flick through your emails on the home tab and has buttons for 'Write New' and delete as well as a menu which lets you circle through your email accounts, open the WM Inbox, send and receive, etc. Where have you all been
This has now been implemented in the latest official ROM (3.14).
There is now a Delete Message option on the menu in the Sense mail tab.

Thanks chaps, I have CHT 1.8.5 installed and was waiting for final version before installing & was going to take the opportunity then to upgrade ROM too. Good to know it's been sorted in the recent ROM upgrade though

[Q] Email "always show picures"

Searched (everywhere) and can't find an answer to this. In email client, General settings, there's an option about asking to show picures. I want to always see pictures (yes, I know jpegs can have viruses). The check box is not visible, and there is no way to toggle the setting, hence I have to click on "show pictures" in every email from a new sender. This was true both before unlocking and after switching to Chromi.
Does anyone else see the checkbox in the settings? Does anyone know a way to hack this with root priveleges?
Thanks, Bob Graham
The only way I know is to click show pictures and then click show pictures from this sender for each email which would eventually get you what you want. :cyclops: :silly:

Well, it's not standard Android email client. It must be an Asus customization for our "benefit". There has to be a way to circumvent this "helpful" behavior.
