[Q] Chat in group using bluetooth ? - Android Apps and Games

Hi, I'm looking for an app that can do that, thanks !
(no signal at school...)

I don't think it is possible to group chat trough Bluetooth except 1 on 1 chat.
So it would be better if you bought a portable router and make your friends connect to Wi-Fi and then chat trough LAN connection.
There are some "LAN Chat" apps but i'm not sure if any supports GROUP Chat so try some LAN Chat apps at home before using them at school

Orb on any device

Orb is a media sharing app that you install on home pc(or where the media is that you want to share) very easy setup. works on phone, ps3, laptops, or anything that has internet connection. It converts on the fly so you dont have to convert media. there is a login in screen when trying to acess(your media). Its a cool app that lets me take my 50 gigs of music, 10 gigs of video anwhere(through internet) without having in store on device
Xda and everyone here has been a great, you guys helped a noob figure everything needed to flash, and every way to unbrick my phone in under a week.
And thats includes figuring out this webpage, xda is like family now. THANKS
I've been using orb for years now, its great, I have my cable tv plugged into my video card and can watch live tv, any channel anywhere I am. I only have 2g where I live but tv and video still stream great if I set it around 100k. orb is awesome, and free!

Mobile video audio chat possible ! and other things ...

hello
first, I use skype on my hermes 200 adsl connection via a USB or EDGE connection in both cases I had not heard the voice of my interloccuteurs (voice cuts) while they are listening
will become of the weakness of my connection or there a reason?
also, I install skype mobile beta lite (for symbian s60 v.2) on a Nokia N72 to communicate with my hermes 200 but I have not the icon of the call, and in the category of aid on I said that "the call will be possible after the upgrade skype when it will be available in your country"
could I have the icon of the call before skype lite mobile beta is available in my country knowing that they have not yet?
else, the audio chat it was possible between two windows mobile user?
Finally, set apart the MIDs (see here) http://www.intel.com/products/mid/devices.htm , are there other mobile devices capable of video chat skype? if not, they are the other software can do without 3G or wifi, personally I know 5: vochat, octro, tivi, imichat (under symbian), and microsoft portrait
and another that I could not operate: tabletmedia, of whether someone else could get it to tell me how?

[APP REQUEST] Android DLNA WAN Player

I've got a UPNP DLNA compatible plugin going in foobar2000 right now.
http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_upnp
I just wanted to know if anyone has seen an app like this (with WAN compatibility)?
Orb seems like the closest thing, but thats a pricey $10 and it doesn't interface foobar.
Try "Twonky Server"
Im using it with my PS3 to stream.
You completely misread what my intentions are.
I need an application that is a UPNP DLNA PLAYER that lets you access the server from OUTSIDE your local network
I have no desire to:
1) stream to a tv
2) use wifi
I wish to:
1) Listen to all the music stored on my computer (stream via foobar2000 rather than some other 3rd party software)
2) not use wifi
You could use winamp remote on your computer as the server, and then just go to http://winamp.orb.com from your phone and stream the music you want.
Winamp remote is Orb...
It'd be easier if the remote end would mirror whatever i have existing in my media player (playlists, playcounts, etc), rather than have them separate and different.
I'm still looking for something to interface foobar's UPnP server over WAN

Did you try Andromote? It's been a while but that may only still be for LAN.
For streaming my music over 3g I use subsonic (www.subsonic.org) and set up two profiles on my phone. One for wifi and one for 3g. You may have to trigger port 80 in the forwarding section of your router.

Andromote is still only LAN.
I might just be expecting too much i'm not sure, but subsonic looks a bit more promising with its user interface... I'll give that a try, thanks.
Chances are low you will actually find an DLNA-over-WAN solution, as DLNA/UPnP use multicast broadcasts to interface with eachother.
Maybe you could try setting up a VPN connection from phone to your home and go from there?

x2... i hadnt thought of that. VPN tunneling into your local network would probably be the only chance of something DLNA actually working over WAN.
I'm actually trying to achieve the same thing. I connect to my home LAN via VPN on android 2.3 but all DLNA apps (and I've tried loads in the marketplace) close after stating that I'm not connected via WiFi. Is there a fundamental reason why VPN isnt a suitable connection to consider when building an app? No one seems to have thought of this... shame. Who will be the first to amend their app? Please let me know if you have something to try.
If you use a server that doesn't require user+pass the app "UPNPlay" is absolutely lovely. And it works perfectly over mobile connections and from remote places.

Does DLNA standard support access to the server of OUTSIDE network?
Input
for outside:
i dont know - i thing you need the right port for the protokoll
see http://www.skifta.com/how-skifta-works#friends
for inside:
try :
skifta http://www.skifta.com/
or imediashare http://www.imediashare.tv/
this are the best and most flexible DLNA clients with media shifting and there are free
Another vote for Skifta
VPN
Probably ArkMC application will suite you.
One of its function is managing all devices from both inside and outside of the network environment via VPN
Hello
I found this post when searching new apps for this result.
There is one app on the Play Store who is able to connect upnp server over wan :
Upnplay
First you connect your server over WiFi, and you clone it, editing address for wan usage, and it works !
Hope it will help you !

Hi,
I am using the team viewer app to access my pc from the phone. It's very good. I get the whole desktop on my phone screen and I can control it completely.
For accessing phone via web I.am using the remote web desktop. I can use many features as sms mail from the pc.
If you have further questions do ask . Hope this helps
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App

Still two more question remain
Could u pls help me
Thanks again

if you dont have wifi adapter in your tv, do you have LAN ? as in wired option. the model of your tv would have helped.
i have my tv connected to the same router as my pc which is also wifi and thus through dlna i am able to view pictures and music from my phone directly onto the tv. sadly the 3gp format of the video recorded by the sensation doesnt allow me to view the videos made from the camera on it. but other videos on the phone can be viewed on tv.
another nice feature is that videos which ppl post on your facebook wall can be streamed to the tv directly from the phone using an app called twonky server.
if you dont have both wifi or wired connection on the tv then do you have an hdmi cable input in your tv? if so you can buy an adapter which will connect to the usb port of the phone and to the hdmi port of the tv.
hope this helps.
hi
thanks for your response
My tv has LAN and hdmi connection so it means I am able to do wired network but I don't know how to do it. I don't have much technical knowledge but I am able to do that. I only need some hints at key areas.
I want to know both ways to connect. I have wireless internet modem/router with 4 wired port connection at my home. I have laptop, windows mobile 6.1 and latest sensation also. all of them is wifi enabled.
I heard somewhere that regular micro usb to hdmi cable will not support to the sensation. So what sort of hdmi cable or connector do I use?
Furthermore I tried both TeamViewer as well as Remote Web Desktop.
Both works very good between my Sensation and my HP Laptop.
I know it's inappropriate to ask here but if u know about app like TeamViewer and Remote Web Desktop for the windows mobile pls let me know.
Thanks again

Native webcam support

I'm looking at using otg to connect a webcam so that I can use that webcam during video calls using WhatsApp etc. Effectively I am looking to create my setup a bit like the Facebook portal tv - stream the phone screen to my TV, either by casting or by hdmi and having a webcam on top of my TV connected via the otg.
My question is does android natively support this? Will I be able to select the camera in WhatsApp or settings to use it in those apps?
The logitech c270 says that is compatible with android 5 or higher...?
