Hi ,
Are you from India? If so actually you can't get high end laptop for this price range. For high end games prefer laptops with dedicated memory card. Also I heard that HP laptops have heating issue though it depends from laptop to laptop. So be careful if you buying hp.

Go alienware .... Just kidding ... My friend bought a hp laptop recently has 1 gb graphic card 4gb ram 500gb hdd and cost him around 37k but it comes with an AMD processor... It is capable of running all the games. He has played Far Cry 3,GTA 4 ,crysis 2,BF3 without any hassles (dont know on which quality he played them)... If you are interested Il ask him the model no.

Under budget I would suggest get a slightly older 2nd gen i7 laptop instead of a new 3rd gen i5 / i3. Look for good gpu with a 2nd gen i7 and u have a good gaming laptop.

I am looking for new laptop or ultrabook. So I am asking here instead of making new thread.
I have seen dell inspiron 15z having spec. as below.
1.PROCESSOR 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-3537U processor (4M Cache, up to 3.1 GHz, Discrete Graphics Card)
2.MEMORY 8GB 2 DIMM (4GB x 2) DDR3 1600Mhz
3.HARD DRIVE 500GB 5400 RPM SATA HDD and 32GB mSATA SSD
4.VIDEO CARD Nvidia® GeForce® GT630M 2GB
I want to ask that what is difference between SATA HDD & mSATA SSD storage drive.
Dell provides two types of graphic card(here i am talking about 2GB). 1st is Nvidia® GeForce®,2GB which is integrated with processor circuit or mother board. 2nd is ADM graphic card(2GB) which is dedicated one(means not integrated on mother board or having separate circuit). I have heard that when ADM graphic card is not in use it work as extra 2GB ram(so total becomes 8+2) which is not the case for Nvidia GeForce graphic card. Is it true or right? Which one of above graphic card will be good in performance??????
Other thing i want to ask is that in processor specification (4M Cache, up to 3.1 GHz) is written. I have seen that as xM catch size increases clock speed in GHz reduces(generally from 3.xGHz to 2.xGHz). So which should be considered, high clock speed of high catch size????
In intel processor one is ultra processor and other is QM-mobile processor(not mobile phone processor) which is available in inspiron 15R so what is difference between them???
I am also looking of for XPS 14, but it is available in i5 everywhere i found it. Is it available in i7 processor???
Please let me also know about other good laptops of ultrabook.... and sorry for asking these much questions...

If you are not looking for high performance laptops then you have a right choice.
But if you want to play high end games on that then dont buy that.
Since its CPU is clocked only at 1.7GHz and no dedicated graphics card, it has onboard intel 4000 graphic card which doesnt help in high end gaming.

Samsung rolling out JB for most smartphones

I got my hopes up for nothing as the Charge did not make the list

It has already been said that jb and touchwiz would never fit on our system partition.

I think the bigger issue here besides getting 4.1 is... the mobile market needs to follow the model of the PC for the enduser.
I would be willing to pay some money to upgrade to the next major OS updates for my devices. Whether its my tablets or my phone. I wouldn't mind if I could only get vanilla android either.
It would put the power in the consumers hands. For example, I bought a laptop with windows vista and later upgraded it to windows 7 since my laptop could run it well. I hope someday android is able to do this as well. And sooner rather than later.

The problem is that upgrading a phone will never be as straightforward as upgrading a PC. There's no one "Android Operating System" that exists as a general purpose OS. AOSP is the base, but even Google does more work to it before it goes on a Nexus device. Every phone has different hardware, which requires different drivers, and often, different close-source software and libraries, which means that every version of Android is a different embedded OS that is based on core Android. Making it generalized enough to run across the board on all hardware on the market would bloat it. It would make it memory, CPU, and power inefficient. We like to think of our phones as powerful miniature computers, but in reality, they don't even match the processor and memory capabilities of the average netbook. It's only through careful optimizations that it is able to run the way it runs, and you can't just slap a generic version of Android on a device and expect the same results.
Its not impossible...
And isn't every computer different from one another just like a phone or tablets?!

As Shrike said - the phones are too small and don't have the capacity that computers do for memory, disk and processor. Even if they did, the power draw would be excessive. Everything is extremely customized to fit within the phone's tiny footprint.
BTW - every computer has it's own limits with respect to memory and cpu capacity. Yes, you can upgrade, but there is a point of diminishing returns. What's the point of installing the fastest processor if the bus can't handle it? It goes on and on.
Lastly, it will never be in their best interests (profits, new sales) to adopt the computer model. They don't like that you keep a computer for years. They want churn. They want planned obsolescence.

Impossible? No. Highly impractical? Yes
A computer has enough memory, storage, and processor power that the larger footprint of the "everything and the kitchen sink" model doesn't bog it down the way it would a phone. Just look at storage space alone...when you don't know exactly what hardware you're going to encounter, you have to account for all possibilities. Just the extra storage is going to add tangibly to the cost. Then you have the extra power drain required for the more efficient processors that will be needed to run the more generic OS correctly, and the extra RAM needed to load all of it's parts. A smartphone is a modern example of the classic embedded system. When you have limited resources to work with, your OS has to be more focused, customized, and efficient to work in an acceptable way.
So, yes, it's possible in the broadest sense, but do you want to pay $1500+ for the device that can be upgraded at will and be out of date within 2 years? Or would you rather pay $100-$500 every two years for the latest hardware and OS, at the expense of a more limited upgrade path? Personally, I know where I'll put my money.
Haha good point on that last paragraph! I agree.

Specs
It doesn't take much to look at the default off the shelf Dell box's specs and compare them to that of any phone. The Intel Core i7 or AMD FX-8150 processors would smoke any ARM on the market for mobiles. Memory in the desktop is 4GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1600MHz. Again crushing the Droid Charge and every other phone. 1TB 7200RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive, nuff said man won't be there for mobile for a while now. The power consumption would drain your mobiles battery in the time it takes to boot up. Let us also not forget that GHz and GB and TB don't all perform the same across the board. For instance a 1TB parallel ATA drive, 1TB SATA, and 1TB SSD differ vastly in performance. The NVIDIA Tegra 3 Quad core, 1.2 GHz, ARM Cortex-A9 processor in the Nexus 7 just doesn't hold a candle to the Intel Core i7-640UM Dual Core 1.2 GHz. It's about more than cores and clock speeds.

I second that, support is very important.
I'd say the asus because for gaming, google support is not nessesary, plus with an sd card you can put more games on it. If you can put linux on it you can play steam games with a mouse and the included keyboard. Then again you could do the same with the n10 and the screen is better but you will have to live with 32 gigs and buy an additional keyboard.

[Q] Difference between Original and Chinese (fakes) tablets

Hi all, I am about to buy a new tablet but I am confused and I cannot make any difference between original or Fake Tablets
I have found many Tablets like:
- Havit Tablets
- MemUp SlidePads
- Archos Tablets
- Prestigio Tablets
- Bogo Tablets
- Arnova Tablets
- LexiBook Tablets
- NextBook Tablets
- Storex Tablets
- Maxell Tablets
- Sanei Tablets
- EnergiSystem Tablets
- And more...
Some of these tablets have 1Ghz Cortex A8 and A9, 1GB of RAM, a Good GPU like Mali 400 and Google PlayStore Pre-installed !
But some have only 1Ghz Cortex A8, 512MB of RAM, no GPU and no Google Play (Apps market are AndroidPit, or Opera Apps Market)
Most of them have Android 4.0 or 4.1 and 4GB of Storage with SD Card support up-to 16GB to 32GB.
I would like to know if these Brands are recognized internationally or they're just fake (Tablets maybe fake or chinese).
Achos is a good brand especially with their achos gamepad tablet

Thx luigi0824, but the prestigio seems to be good.
The MultiPad Prime 7" seems to be a powerfull cheap tablet with 1,2Ghz of Processor, 512MB of RAM and a powerfull GPU Mali-400MP. It may run lots of games with no problem.

Only one I recognize is Archos, which also makes the Arnova Tablets. The rest seem like cheap walmart brand tablets lol. Whatever the case I think it's best to go with brands like Asus, Acer, Lenovo, Samsung, Sony, and Toshiba. It really depends on your budget. However, the safest bet is to look up the tablets on youtube and see what they're all about. That way you will know what your getting.
I was wondering tht how a tab with 512 mb ram can be considered powerful
I think it will suck
Need at least 1gb ram

Hi ajay1919,
You totally wrong here about the RAM !
Exemple: The Galaxy S I9000 have:
1Ghz of Processor
512MB of RAM
and as GPU weaker than the Mali-400MP
But everything turns like a charm on this Phone !
So with 1,2Ghz of Processor
512MB of RAM
and a Mali-400MP GPU, I think the tablet might have no problems playing games like Asphalt 7 !

Yup, But these brands tablets are expensive because they are internationally recognized !
Unfortunately my budget doesn't allow me to buy a so expensive tablet, so I am gonna try the Prestigio MultiPad Prime 7" !
I was wondering about its @root, but I have seen some threads here on XDA about this, also videos on YouTube and threads on Russian Forums !

Yup 1 gb of ram is the absolute sweet spot. I running the galaxy player which is pretty much a galaxy s i9000 without the phone and ram is always an issue with it. I had to get like 3 memory managing apps to keep it running smooth.
I would not even look at anything with less than 1GB of RAM, my phone has 2GB and even that comes close to being fully used sometimes.
With the cheaper unknown tablets just be careful with the CPU/GPU combo that they use, especially if you want to play games.
Also, in the future, if you want to root and flash custom roms it can be very hard or next to impossible to find roms for knock-off or no-name tablets.
Good luck.
Archos and Prestigio !
Archos is a French Brand !!!
Prestigio also make great Tablets.

Since u hv alot of money to assemble your PC, why dint u go for i5 gen3-quad core, u ll save alot of power consumption as well. Also get one more 4GB ddr3 ram. It will boost up ur multi tasking ability while gaming
PS-sorry this post is out of android context.

Now listen, i5 3330p the cheapest latest gen one (that time now it is haswell) was 13-14000 I got the i3 for 6500 almost half the price and performance is more than 70 percent, I have never nnor I plan on playing any kind of strategy game, I like fps, 3rd person shooter, racing, soccer, tennis and every other genre other than strategy kind of games.. all the action based games are GPU limited changing the cpu will have less than 10% difference, I got the 650 ti boost which is 5-10% slower than 660 of price 16,000 which I have surpassed by overclocking.. I got the gpu for 11,000 an amzing deal it is not around 13,500..also about the ram, currently there is no game than can fully saturate 4gb ram if nothing else is opened.. maybe next gen will be able to.. I will buy a 2gb at the end of session to make it 3x2gb...I would have bough 6300 but it was not avaiable it is a very good cpu but requires a an aftermarket cooler for stabel and quiet function.. Here in india everything of AMD is too overpriced the best deal is 7870 and 6300..I have maxed out each game that I have played, I haven't played crysis 3 or 2, basically I had around 17000-18,000 for cpu and gpu can you make out anything better than that for action gaming like fps, racing etc

U r a moderate gamer, so GPU is what matters to you..and u have done a fair deal with it. My previous post was with context to multimedia usage. Benchmark tests shows that core2duo is evn better than i3.
Also 1 more thing i wanna ask, is ur SMPS capable enough to handle gpu load ?

Can you please give me the source from where you found out that any core 2 duo is beter at anything than i3 3220, even if it is better at surfing i3 with hyperthreading is the best cpu till i52nd gen it is better than i5 ist gen, and also my smps is cosair cx430 with a more than enough amperage of 28A on 12v lane i.e I can get 384W at best for CPU and GPU also gpu has a 6pin powerconnector. I3 can get 60W at best and gpu 110-120w I have a huge margin...Also why am I moderate gamer, (is it cause I don't like 1 genre of games??) Just take a look here http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ivy-bridge-wolfdale-yorkfield-comparison,3487-20.html and http://us.hardware.info/reviews/436...benchmarks-hd-7970-tomb-raider-1920x1080-high and http://us.hardware.info/reviews/436...arks-hd-7970-hitman-absolution-1920x1080-high

with no offense, u surely knows all about "heavy" terms notations Just google the comparison of core2duo and i3. Experience says that if i have core2duo, i dont need i3. Rest u read blogs around web.
Secondly, gtx650 needs 400W input(verify on nvidia site). your smps is entry model smps for gaming. But it ur pc is working well on heavy games, then it's alright
now stop this discussion. The page is for android, not PC

All right this is the last post(if you want to continue I can), firstly the main difference in core 2 duo and i3 is hyperthreading in which 2 cores are emulated as 4 cores which is very effective it is the main performance booster.. and secondly the smps thing you mentioned I am using a very low power intel cpu with TDP of 55 and it takes 65W at best the and gpu is 650 ti boost not 650, it's power requirement is 450 W(with 140 Watt Max Power Consumption) which I know. People in india use very cheap smps like zebronics and I ball those just show that they are 500 or 600W but deliver less than 300W it is a known fact. then main thing to look for is the amperage on +12v lane, from here the most powerhungry parts the cpu and gpu take power, Also I bought the latest gen green 1 tb hdd which saves somewhat power saver and has very good sequential buy they take power from _+5v lane they can be powered from the cheapest smps.. I can give you an excellant example here http://www.flipkart.com/zebronic-ze...ZZNG&ref=9abf7ce0-7f32-4110-b5a6-1cb81f9e1248 this crappy 450W zebronics smps has 16A on 12 v lane i.e. 16x12=192W I can assure you than it won't even deliver 130-140W.. that cx430v2 has 28A on 12v lane with 80% efficiency, I will surely get 340-350 w atleast but only 65+150 is required=215W is required.. I hope I cleared some doubts about the smps things that moost people have they don't invest in smps then their powerhungry components start to deteriorate..Also accept my friend request..the main thing that seperates i3 and core2duo is 4 virtual cores vs 2 cores, faster IPC, better efficiency..

Low-end SoC's for gaming?

I am looking for a budget tablet in my country that can run most recent GPU/CPU intensive games fluently on low settings and I've found 3 of the most popular SoC's that are sold in tablets in my country.
Tegra 3(T33)
Intel Atom Z3745
Cortex-A9 + Mali-400/450(both with 4 cores)
Which of these SoC's could run most GPU/CPU intensive games fluently today?
You can, of course, make your own suggestions.
Its tegra only.
Intel is made for better smothness in perdormance not for graphics quality.
And malinia just fine . i am having a mali 400 with quad core and run almost all games fine.
But tegra is the best of all

Smoothness in performance?
Yes smoothnesa in performance a less laggy device.
Smothness in graphics means less blirs in display
Blirs are edgs of any curved object not perfectly drawn.

Ah, well, I don't care much for graphics so I guess Intel is also decent for me.
Also, just a suggestion but check your grammar before posting.
Intel is not good. My friend have one with more powerful specs from my device but fails to run games which my device run smothley after amall twicks
Specs don't show everything.
Hmm but processor and am and gpu is all required for gaming
Yes.
So basically you should go for the tegra one

Just don´t use Intel.
Intel chipsets are powerfull but their 3D performance is pretty bad.
And developers don´t really like them because they become very fast unsupported.
Source: My Galaxy Tab with Intel SoC
Go to a good big and famous shop
They provide full handsets for testing so choose an intel and a tegra and test these to your satisfaction and i can garentee you that you will love tegra one
It'd be a Tegra or Mali
