[Q] Odin Sidwkick 4g

Was wondering if this method to odin is legit;

Trying to flash rom and for some reason get stuck at wipe data factory reset. CWM freezes, and have to reboot phone. Phone is back to factory settings after reboot. Was wondering if the odin method above is the problem. When I first tried flashing i forgot to check the mounts (yes i know rookie mistake) But after using the odin to get out of the soft brick. My phone gets stuck like mentioned above. tried rooting in various methods, all with same end result. begining to think that the pit file, or the odin file is messed up. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Got everything off his youtube post. also used his post to root and get cwm. but when i go to the factory data reset it does what i mentioned in the first post. so i can never flash a rom. what am i doing wrong?

Can u boot into orange cwm? N did u use sduvick mod in the krylin thread to fixed the recovery n have the update in the. Root of sd card n the modded recovery

yea i can get in to orange cwm. but when i select that option for wipe data factory reset, it sits on that screen for ever. i let it sit once for 30 minutes and the screen still looked the same.

Is it stuck on deleting android secure?

yea i know that much. but it stays on that screen forever. how long is it suppose to sit on that screen? cause like i stated before, it has stayed on that screen for 30+ minutes...

it should quickly delete since it is the first to be deleted so did uunmount the system?

did you get into download mode? because you can odin out of it i can help you out just tell me what part you got to when you tried to odin.

Yea odin works fine. I actually jus went back to stock earlier. But after rooting and cwm, and all the rom stuff on the root of the sd card. I go to wipe data factory reset option, click yes and then I get stuck on the anroid secure garbage. My screen looks like what I posted. And it can sit for up to 30 minutes with no change in the screen. Not sure what I'm doin wrong.

how did you get your cwm there? root explorer or sduvicks method?
but it should only take 10 seconds!

I used his and then a method I found on youtube. Bd1692 uploaded it. He posted the odin link too. Both ways brought me to the frozen cwm screen...

Finally figured out what i was doing wrong. I guess i had to be in usb debugging mode when i install the rom. thanks for your help guys!

LOL! I was like, "well if this doesn't work then I guess all this rom stuff isn't for me." As of right now i have gingerclone. Rom is awesome! Any you want to recomend?

Gingerclone is the same a tmouchmiui gingver is green touch is blue themed , clean fusion is what it name is clean and lighting rom v2 is sorta soup of verison of a stock rom , and there is a new rom on the way from 3 dfferent devs one by ayoteddy , edt (from samsung vibrant forums , and undead2k9

[Q] Help with internal SD! 'Error mounting /sdcard/.android-secure!'

I'm getting this error when using CWM 5.0.2.6 to wipe user data:
Error mounting /sdcard/.android-secure!
So the wipe fails.
I'm also unable to mount the internal SD card and do not have an external SD card to try.

I attached the error I get in ADB when trying to mount the internal /sdcard.

getting same error did you ever get it figure out? Thanks

I am also getting this error still no luck. I will post if I find a solution.

Can you access both the internal/external mass storage on the computer? If so try to format the external SD. Fat32 I believe and don't do the quick format. Just a thought I suppose. If I'm wrong someone scold me.

Just an educated guess, but if you can't mount either internal nor external cards, nothing will see them. I would highly recommend purchasing an external for this kind of work. You don't need an absurdly expensive 32G card. A very cheap 4 or 8G will do nicely. I picked up a 16G for $44 at Best Buy. Pass on the $80 version AT&T wants to sell you. You can find 4G cards on Amazon for around $5.

My computer see the phone and I can add any files to the phone can't install any roms or use cwm to install anything. Phone is rooted

I can see the sd card in Task Manager, under Storage. But in cwm if I try to wipe the dalvik cache or flash an update for a rom, it takes a few tries, but it works.

You need to odin the stock tar. Then boot into stock recovery and wipe data/cache. Then reboot. I have had this happen as well. Its a problem with recovery some how messing up partitions . If you just odin the stock tar it may boot loop. Thats why i say boot into stock recovery after and wipe. Actually several of us had this problem a while back. And there was no other way around it.

This happened to me when I flashed the SystemUi.apk file from my stock AT&T into boneSTOCKeteer. Did you do anything like that to get the ATT LTE icons?

Error Mounting SD card
Hi Guys,
I rooted my HTC desire few days ago and I tried to install LeeDroid HD with A2SD ROM with couple of addons through ROM Manager. And then when it installed and the phone rebooted I am getting the white screen with HTC logo folled by black screen with Android written on it. And it just stuck there.
When I started the phone into clockwork recovery mod and started to backup and restore it gives me an error E:/ Cant' mount/sdcard. Now I am stuck and need your help.
Please tell me how do I get rid of this problem and install another ROM and save my phone. A step by step guide would be really appreciated as I am new to this.

Stuck on samsung screen.

Hey guys and gals, today while at work my phone decided to shut off and then come back on which isnt uncommon . But when it came back on it is now stuck on the samsung screen and thats it . I can boot into download mode and even into CWM recovery but it wont allow me to mount my sd card to do a restore . So my question is ,what can I do to get this back to normal or will I have to ODIN all over again ? Oh and im on stock ep4d

try wiping just cache and dalvik in CWM (make sure its CWM too and not stock recovery, just making sure since you said you're on stock GB) and see if it'll let you boot fully after that... if still nothing you may lose your data and just have to do a full wipe or Odin

Yes its a rooted stock . I have the yellow CWM ,and I have wiped everything I possibly can as Im not worried about loosing the data . Lol looks like when I get home i will have to reodin . But thanks I was trying to avoid that . The part Im really worried about is I tried 2 different sd cards and neither will mount in order do a restore or to flash a new rom . Any suggestions on that ? maybe your sd card slot got fried somehow. I would get the phone up and running by flashing a rom using odin. i know some roms say u have to use cwm, but im pretty sure the allinone rom can be done in odin. if after that u cant get an sd card to work u may need to talk to verizon n see if theyll send u a new charge.

Yeah just flash the all on one package. Make sure you take out your SD card before you flash just in case it isn't fried.

I could boot into recovery, and I could not get it to mount to the SD card but it would mount the system. Got my new charge yesterday and didn't waist any time loading it up with infinity. Hopefully it wont happen again.

Bricked G2X

GUYS HELP PLEASE I nullifed my device, left it on all night (unplugged) because I fell asleep. Now, I can't boot to CWM.. I've tried to install stock recovery, but once I turn it on it just stays on the plain, white LG logo. If I hold down volume down + power buttons the same thing happens. Can you guys help me please. I hope I didn't permanently brick my G2X.

U cant permanently brick it. Search the forums there's been a thread like this in the past week

Try this method, this will bring your phone back to life. Make sure you root your phone again and install CWM.

really? but I when I installed TB it says I have no more root access =( and also my internal storage got wiped. LIFE'S HARD. I blame LG. lol

Flash a ROM which is rooted

Hey guys, I rooted my friends G2x and everything went fine until I flashed the ROM. Like an idiot, I did not make a nandroid backup...I downloaded BionixReloaded and up it on the sd card. Rebooted to recovery and went through the usual steps. I did a factory reset and formatted the system. However, when I went to flash the ROM, I got the "E: Can't open /sdcard/zROM/*name of ROM*.zip (bad). Now the phone won't reboot which I'm assuming is from formatting the system. I cannot remember for the life of me remember what that error means, but you can just re-download the rom you want and place it in the sdcard by mounting USB storage through mounts and system, and then flash.

Make sure the Rom.zip isn't named Rom.zip.zip. if so rename correctly, also can check md5 of the zip to ensure its a good download prior to flashing.

Thanks everyone for the quick responses. I'm guessing it boiled down to a bad download, but for some reason I could not connect via USB from recovery on my laptop, so I brought it to my friends house and was able to get it to connect so I redownloaded the ROM along with another incase I got the same error, but it worked flawlessly. Thanks again to all that offered help instead of sending me a useless link via LMGTFY!

Soft Brick?

Hey guys,
Just experienced what I think is a soft brick. I know that this has been talked about a dozen times, and I have searched. I just want a more experienced yes or no to be sure.
Basically, last night I tried flashing PAndroid on my skyrocket and I went through the format system, format data, factory reset, and wipe cache. Then when I went into flash a zip it said something to the effect of "E: Can't access SD Card". So then I tried to use my band road but that also gave me the error. I then tried to mount the SD card, but it gave me another error. So, guessing that it would just factory reset me, I rebooted.
Now, my phone will vibrate and flash the Samsung logo before going to a black screen (but the screen is on). It also had the symptom of sticky power button for a while with the few second interval buzzing, but I jammed the power button and it seemed to stop doing that and is now doing the aforementioned thing instead.
Should I go use Vincom's soft Brick guide? Also, does anyone have a link to a 7zip extractor that isn't riddled with viruses? (had a hell of a time getting rid of them the first time I rooted haha)
Again, I know this is probably a fairly obvious answer, but yall have just been so helpful in the past that it makes me want to come here before just winging it. And I'm really nervous with this being my first time haha.

Use vincoms guide and Odin back to stock. I just googled for 7-zip and didn't get any viruses. Don't have the original file or I'd put it up on dev host for you

You wiped system. That's why nothing is happening. You should still be able to enter recovery. Now why your recovery was giving you that error is a different story. Go to recovery and copy the version down here.

Okay, I managed to get into recovery, but I'm still getting the error about the SD card not being mounted. I was looking on Google and I found two different solutions. One was to re flash CWM with Odin, but would that mess up my phone because it already has CWM on it? The other was to reformat my SD card on the computer, but I have no honest idea how to do that haha.

Re-Flashing cwm won't mess anything up. Formatting the sd card will remove everything on it including the rom you're trying to flash.

Fixed it! Luckily I saved a backup I made yesterday, so I'm back up and running. Thanks for all the help everybody!
