Seido Ultimate vs DC Mugen Matte

First off, my intention for getting a screen protector was to never actually protect the screen, but to reduce finger prints as I have quite oily fingers.
First I tried the Ultimate Screen Protector from Seido.
PRO: Looks like there's no protector on the screen, amazing clarity.
CON: Did NOT help with the finger prints at all. No help in how easily they got ON the screen, or how difficult they are to clean once on.
Then I sent my phone into HTC for repair and they screwed up the screen protector, so I had to take it off.
Now I have on DCMugen's Matte screen protector.
PRO: No fingerprints! For someone with oily fingers this was great.
CON: HUGE reduction in screen quality/clarity. Makes the screen very grainy and small text harder to read.
So now I'm torn, because it seems the clear screen protector doesn't help with fingerprints at all, so I'm constantly wiping it off, but the matte screen protector completely ruins this beautiful screen. I wish there was an intermediate, something which did not reduce fingerprints perhaps as much as the matte screen protector, but closer in clarity to the ultra clear.
thanks for that - i have teh dcmugen clear on my phone right now and its just as bad as the screen without a protector. I have the matte sitting here ready to apply but after reading your post I think i'll hold off - i have enough trouble reading the screen outdoors as it is.
Well, I think the matte one will help with the outdoor visibility very slightly. I mean, overall visibility of the screen. It may be more visible, but the quality of the screen will be much lower.
When you say "its just as bad as the screen without a protector" do you mean in terms of finger prints?
yea finger prints.
the dcmugen matte protecter is amazing outdoors, with that protector and the automatic brightness setting i never have a problem seeing outside, with the clears it was always a pain in the ass, i just put my last dcmugen on the phone, time to order more. Ill never buy my screen protectors from anywhere else
damn I guess I better try out that matte protector after all

Did you try it out? What do you think?
zagg screen protector seems to be the best of both.. no fingerprints and clarity retained.
I have never tried those two brands i have always used Best Skins ever and Gadget Shieldz and they work great. Zagg always costs too much and leaves a orange peel effect on all my devices.
OP, Just use the first screen protector from Seido no sense in ruining that beautiful amoled screen with the other brand just to keep finger prints off and just learn to deal with the finger prints it is a touch screen phone.

Not yet- too busy playing with froyo. will update again if i do
zagg sucks - the feel of the plastic is too sticky for good swiping imo
Any pics of the matte on the phone?
the difference in clarity honestly isnt that great of a difference, the fingerprints and grease that collects on the regular screen protectors affects the clarity more to be honest. Now that its finally always sunny out ive been using a regular clear protector cause i ran out of dcmugens, and i cant see **** on my screen from the glare, i cant wait till the other dcmugens i ordered get here. only down fall is it takes about two weeks to get them in the us since they ship from hong kong

Droid X screen protector?

So a few of my buddies have the Droid X and they bought a screen protector from Verizon, it gives the screen a slight haze but it barely shows any oil/fingerprints if at all.. anyone know if anything like this is available for the Fascinate?
Yes, its called the anti glare protector, makes the screen look crappy and feels like the screen is always dirty
so fresh and so superclean.

haha ok thanks!
If you want a screen protector, I would highly recommend getting a Steinheil, details and links and reviews in this thread (They are the best screen protectors around IMHO and I'm not alone on this):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=820451
They make an Anti Glare version which is what you're describing, but I wouldn't reccomend any Anti Glare protectors, as the screen on our device is so nice (anti glare will make the picture not nearly as nice), and since it's capacitive touch, you can just wipe fingerprint oils off on your shirt etc even with the screen on without it interacting with it like a resistive touch would. Their crystal clear one, is almost exactly the same feel as just the bare glass and it's just as clear.

Can anyone recommend a really good anti fingerprint screen protector?

Does anyone have or know of a really good anti fingerprint and anti glare screen protector. I don't use a screen protector on my desire s because I look after it but I am interested in it because the phone is terrible in sunlight to the point of the screen being barely visible! My fingerprints show all the time so I was wondering if there is a really good protector that prevents finger prints and reduces glare

anti fingerprint screen protector

Any suggestions for the N4? I don't use one now because I don't need it for scratches but the greasy prints look terrible..
You would want Matte-type screen protectors. I only know two brands, Tech Armor and Halo.
Tech Armor: http://www.amazon.com/Tech-Armor-An...1369157681&sr=8-2&keywords=Tech+armor+nexus+4
Halo: http://www.amazon.com/Halo-Screen-P...8&qid=1369157702&sr=8-2&keywords=Halo+nexus+4
Search for spigen oleophobic or zag shield sp.
More like spigen oleophillic. Using it now. Too lazy to return

Need one desperately as I cant stand the smudges & finger prints any more on my SPG Dual Ultra Crystal. I have posted earlier that in the beginning these were great but after 3-4 months of usage it has started to catch a lot of smudges.
Since I sweat a lot my screen looks very weird which leaves me wiping the screen with a wet cloth all the time. I really wonder if wiping with a wet cloth has any affect on the coating of the screen protector???? Pls let me know the answer else I may ruin my future screen protectors too
Currently confused between 1) Clarivue Anti-glare & 2) Spigen Oleophobic.
Can someone let me know about
The screen degradation between these two
Better smudge resistance
Also please suggest if any other product better than these two will serve my purpose....:good:

What about those generic matte screen protectors on ebay? Anyone had experience with those? With the Spigen I was looking at that but on a video I saw there were fingerprints all over it.
Suggestions plss....

If you're looking for anti-fingerprint, I highly suggest the Clarivue Anti-glare. "Oleophobic" does not mean anti-fingerprint. I have used both on my N4, and I still have smudges with Spigen. It's just much easier to clean the smudges off, whereas with Clarivue, you do not notice the fingerprints unless you just had a bucket full of fried chicken for lunch and forgot to wipe your fingers before checking your phone.
It's up to you what you prefer: great color quality, clear screen image, easy clean up, but smudges - go for Spigen oleophobic. Decent color quality, slight fuzziness with the screen image, no clean up, no smudges - go for Clarivue. As far as I know, both work well to protect against scratches. It was also easier to apply the Spigen protector because it's more "plastic-y" and thicker than the Clarivue.
I haven't had experience with other screen protectors, so I am unable to recommend others for you.
I use a matte screen protector like a no name brand. Lol. However, it works well, preventing finger prints and scratches.

Oleophobic coating

Hi RM3 fellas,
I have an issue with my RM3 surface, currently the phone is installed a hydrogel screen protector, I purchased two pieces of this hydrogel and now i am already using the second one (in one month)
I am a gamer, mostly pubg mobile, I would spend 3-4 hours daily to play this game and I notice that the oleophobic coating that comes with the screen protector will soon wear off after 5 days of gaming thus I replaced the first one and now I put on the second one. Previously I have already this kind of issue that I do not like while gaming which is the screen/touch area wont feel slick/smooth anymore that makes my finger kinda drag like a rubber and this is definitely not good while gaming pubg mobile because when controlling recoil, i mainly use my right thumb to drag down and not using gyroscope.
I hope y'all get my point now.
I have also purchased a nano liquid oleophobic coating from my local ecommerce store and tried to apply it onto the hydrogel screen protector but the result is still the same, the surface is not slick as it was first installed.
Does nano liquid on work on glass surface instead of hydrogel screen protector?
What kind of screen protector y'all use for gaming in my case pubg mobile requires extensive thumb contact with the surface all the time.
I have also tried using baby powder but it makes the hydrogel screen protector kind of messy with a lot of stain.
Walmart sells the kits to put it back on. The liquid screen protectors. I just order the stuff for coating cars off Amazon for ceramic coating and use that.

Hello, so you apply the ceramic coating onto the glass screen directly or on top of the liquid screen protector?
I have purchased another screen protector, but not hydrogel anymore, it is from the same brand, called nanoglass protector instead of hydrogel protector, at first installed it doesnt feel slick at all then I played pubg mobile using finger sleeve and until now it is very smooth and slick, i guess the trick is using finger sleeve + nanoglass screen protector
I tried use finger sleeve + hydrogel but it does not feel as slick as nanoglass.

Screen protector. Just use something like this. Won't offer scratch protection but helps with the onlephobic coating
