I've upgraded my canvas 2 tl official jellybean rom v3.
I tried to root it with the step used to root canvas 2 on ICS, but it didn't work.
So pleaase guys, show me method to root it on Micromax A110 JB.

i had faced same problem
what i did was simple i used cwm recovery to install cwm flashable supersu zip
what you need is sp flash tools, latest jellybean update from micromax and cwm recovery flash file
to make it easy you just go through this tutorial posted on droideser for a116

but insted you take everything for a110
if you find this difficult please pm me ill make write down method

It would be really great help if you write a clear method step by step, because I'm not expert at these things..I've clicked thanks button.. waiting for your method..
PS : I have Stock rom JellyBean 4.1.1 official and sp flash tool already,, just show me the method.
PPS: I wanna root only to increase CPU performance, without rooted its under 6k score of antutu benchmark. So I hope rooting will increase performance! ..

for all of those who are facing this problem, i am posting the link here follow the instructions given there,
1) http://d-h.st/zEb this is for the official mmx jb 1.11 rom
2) http://d-h.st/2Hn this is vcom drivers( download it and install it on your pc/laptop)

now to begin, first install mmx a110 drivers(connect your phone via usb now swithch off phone without disconnecting, wait for a few min drivers will be installed,) second download file no 2 (vcom drivers) install them on your pc/laptop
now if you have already flashed jb 1.11, then open sp flash tool, click scatter loading choose MT6577_android_scatter_emmc.txt, it will load everything , now deselect every option except recovery( very imp make sure u deselect every option except recovery) click on recovery and choose the file you downloaded in option 4( and renamed recovery.img)
now turn off your phone, take out the battery, and keep it aside,
in sp flash tools click download button(not firmware upgrade) after that connect your phone(in powered off battery rmoved state) via usb, and you will have cwm recovery.
now after flashing, close flash tool, disconnect phone and power up,
now transfer the files you downloaded in step 5, to your sd card. now switch off the phone, hold vol down +vol up+ power button, get into recovery follow instructions there and get into cwm recovery, now choose option install from sd card and go to the files you transferred to your sd card from pc(one u downloaded in step 5) and just install them, NOW GIV URSELF A HIGH FIVE YOU HAVE ROOTED UR MMX

u messed up simply becoz u had logo selected along with recovery....chk d screenshot////
select recovery only.....then press download
it will work

flashing with d help of flash_tool is recommended and quite reliable but u can use d Bin4ry tool if u not accustomed.....
Is there any possibility of porting Rom of canvas HD A116 into canvas 2 A110.??

Today again tried to root but again got the same BROM Error. I am following each & every step mentioned in this thread carefully bu still I am getting the same error. May be because I am having official JellyBean ROM from company it is not allowing to root.

First you have to put img file in sd card.. Then open mtk tools and find Recovery update... .In recovery update you should find the img file.bingo now you have cwm for you device ....

hey bro if you want to revert your stock recovery then you have to download official rom for w68 ...For post limit i cant gave you the accurate link .But you can manually search that....just google it..you can find many available website for your device..
SO i cant help you in this matter ..because i search many website but there is no result for symphony w68 stock recovery .....ihave a limited net so i cant download for you .because it is about 450 mb..that is too much......if you able to download stock rom then you can find stock recovery inside the rom..flash it via mtk tools....it is 100% working method .

Don't mix this guide with some other as i will not help in that case.
First of all, use read back to get rom dump (backup) as there is no stock rom available on net.
Go here and follow the guide.
Procedure:
1. Download and install drivers Driver_Auto_Installer_v1.1236.00.7z.
If not working try these too PDAnet_4150.rar.
Problem in installation?? Go here
2. Download and copy/move SuperUser to your memory card.
3. Download any kitkat recovery from here and place it in pc.
4. Open SP Flash tools and load this MT6582_Android_scatter.txt in it. (alternative download link of sp flash tools)
5. Click on 'recovery' in sp flash tools and select the downloaded Recovery .
6. Click Download in sp flash tools, remove the battery from phone and connect it to pc.
A green circle/download ok will confirm flashing.
7. Insert battery and press volume up+down+power on, then press volume up to select recovery.
Note: in ctr recovery you can swipe right to go forward and swipe back to go backward, use it to navigate, save volume buttons.
8. Tap on install from sd card and swipe right on screen to go forward, select "superuser.zip" and say yes to flash.
9. Reboot, Done.
In case any one wants working MTK droid tools, here or here

Can you try to port cwm to micromax unite 2 a106 ??
I heard that bootloader is locked and we need to replace boot.img as well with unlocked bootloader.
I tried to flash boot.img and recovery.img but getting 8038 error in SP flash tool, I used v1344, do you have any idea about this error?
Though I would try with latest version of SP Flash Tool and post the result.

Don't mix this guide with some other.
This is working 100% there is no need of any mtk droid unlocked or something boot.img.
I will not help if you had followed any other guide and asking help from me, as i don't know what you had done and what not.
If you had followed only this guide properly, you must had got ctr recovery + root access.
Follow any guide over the internet but never mix things up and ask all the devs for help.
Installing Clockworkmod Recovery on your Micromax Unite 2 means that you will be able to flash new custom ROMs on it. Without custom recovery you cannot flash new ROMs. Also, it should be installed on rooted devices. Clockworkmod Recovery can also be used to backup your entire ROM.
MODEDIT: ALL LINKS REMOVED DUE TO BEING PAYPERCLICK REDIRECTS
METHOD A (WITHOUT PC):
You need:
1. CWM recovery
a) For Kitkat (Download)
b) For Jellybean (Download)
2. MobileUncle tools (install from play store)
3. Rooted Phone (How to root | Root without PC)
Follow these steps to flash custom recovery without PC:
Step 1: Put downloaded recovery in external SD card.
Step 2: Install Mobileuncle tools.
Step 3: Open Mobileuncle tools.
Step 4: If asked grant root permission.
Step 5: Open Recovery Update.
Step 6: Choose the recovery you want to flash.
Step 7: Tap OK to confirm flashing recovery.
Step 8: Tap OK to reboot to newly flashed recovery.
METHOD B (PC):
You need:
1. CWM recovery
a) Kitkat (Download)

Follow these steps to flash custom recovery using sp flash tools:
Step 1: Extract/unzip all downloaded files.
Step 2: Open SP flash tool and load scatter file.
Step 3: Unselect all blocks and select only RECOVERY.
Step 4: Click the location column of RECOVERY and select downloaded recovery.
Step 5: Remove battery of your phone, click Download in SP flash tool and connect your phone via USB cable (without battery).

bhai mobileuncle mathod is not working, actuly I increased the app memory with HK ROM editor. Maybe that's why its not working I don't have a pc bro help me out in this please okay !! thanks in advance
If you're facing any problem in mobileuncle tools then use flashify

You can use either method A or method B. The screenshots are given to show how cwm recovery looks

Cwm recovery kitkat download link is not working.. It is showing files removed. Please upload it again... :highfive::cyclops:

I have micromax a107. It has the same specifications as a106. Can i use this img file my phone, because i cant find any recovery file for a107. It is already rooted.

No, the behavior of recovery.img depends on a lot of things like preloader, ik, boot
You can't use any other phone's recovery without porting it

Well, depends on what r u tryng 2 do, if u tryng 2 flash smthing with SPFT, click the download button before connecting

How u flashing this recovery...???
Use mobile uncle tool...
It needs root and then place the recovery in sdcard after renaming It to recovery.img and then open Mobil uncle tool and select install recovery from sdcard and then select the recovery file...
Wait some time and your recovery will work now...
And I want to know that on which android version u r?? Kitkat or jelly bean???

Hey Thanks for reply, i resolved that issue by trying to turn on the phone by usb power, phone boots up normally but without any signal both sims are properly inserted but no signal (may be IMEI issue) how to resolve it???. ( procedure i followed for previous attempt, i am currently on JellyBean my stock android version(people say Mi509 come with KITKAT out of box but its not in case of my phone. i followed your procedure as it is, downloaded attachment and MobileUncle apk installed that apk , opened that uncle and selected recovery update and it automatically restarted.)
now i know that my standard Android Recovery was OVERWRITTEN by custom recovery and i DIDNT backup my stock recovery . what should i do. ( i read something about EFS partition which contains IMEI info which was corrupted by custom recovery i believe ). and also please send me backup of recovery partition (or EFS) to me @ [email protected] i will set my own IMEI nos using Enginering Mode apk . this is my only phone please help me

thats why i was asking about android version....
bcoz all roms and recovery available for MI509 uses KITKAT kernel and you flashed it on Jellybean...

If your device I bricked then just flash stock firmware using sp flash tool...if you don't know how to ...
Then give it to service centre but don't tell them about rooting and flashing custom rom...
Bcoz if you tell them then they will cost you money...

Hey "Saurabh" you didddit. i tried using SPFTool and its working i was able to get my imei nos also(but it took me two days to figure it out). NOW how do i upgrade my mobile to KITKAT do you have that rom. can you please send me that link(stock rom).

download the stock rom from xda firmware site and then use flashtool in that zip to install the firmware in your mi509...it will boot... but u will lost your apps installed earlier...

I had already tried the SP flastool to flash my mobile but the software dont access/ read my mobile.

flashtool will work on your pc and laptop...
download firmware and then install drivers given in it in your pc then open your flashtool and load bootloader...
now connect your device to pc via data cable with or without battery ...
then click on download button in flashtool and press vol down on device.
then update will start..
