Amazing Trick Requirement
*Android Device
*Opera Mini (It was only tested on Opera Mini but you can try on Opera Mobile and see if it works)
*File Manager(any)
What does the trick do?
I was derping around with my mobile
and found an amazing download. When I clicked on Download, I realised, oh BEEP
I was in Opera Mini, one of the worst download manager. One time your download breaks, it can't be resumed. I crossed my fingers and then hoped it does not fail. But it failed at 47 mb out of 50 mb
Fuuuuuuuuuu......
But then, I was so down, I decided that Challenge Accepted
I fiddled around and SUCCESS, I found out a way you can resume ANY broken download, even if you reboot your phone

Instructions:-
Read very carefully
1. Download anything IN OPERA MINI and wait it to fail (Here, we assume you downloading iamareebjamal.zip)
2. Once it is failed, DON'T CLICK ON RETRY and go to any file manager and to path of that file and rename it to whatever you like (eg: iamareebjamal2.zip)
3. Go again to Opera Mini and click on RETRY now.
4. As soon as it shows 0.1 mb downloaded, PAUSE it.
5. Go again to File Manager and you may see two files, first one which you recently renamed and new download file of approx 0.1 mb(or of size it was when you PAUSED it) [Paused file will have original download name such as iamareebjamal.zip]
6. Rename new file to whatever you want and rename the previously failed download to its original name [iamareebjamal.zip(paused download) -> whatever.zip] [iamareebjamal2.zip -> iamareebjamal.zip]
7. Go back to Opera Mini and resume the download. Download will RESUME from WHERE IT WAS FAILED. (f yeah) [Make sure Opera Mini isn't killed in renaming process as you may have to redo the whole process if it does]
8. Enjoy

Well, it was present there! Didn't know!
And if you are saying I cheated it from there, nah, I got this idea from IDM and Download Everything Pro(recently), that used very similar method, so I tried it on Opera Mobile last year in December so it didn't work. So, I thought it won't work here, then, I tried it on Opera Mini just out of curiosity and it worked, so, I shared it.
It was not so much of a big deal finding it when you know that every second Download Manager does this.
Neither it was so unpredictable that to be cheated
waaw...
this trick is awesome...will try when in distress..

Please use the official mirrors before using the Rapidshare ones. These are on the modaco thread found here
I didn't make these instructions, I have only displayed in full the original version (not the most up to date) as it is easier for those who already have a mac or a linux machine running!
This WILL remove any branded ROM, i.e no orange/tmobile logo when you boot . This might be great for some but just to warn anyone who wants to keep it!
R4 Instructions
Guide here

Part 2
R1 - Original Guide does not require live cd
R1 is the original version and might be easier for some of you
Downloads
To be ready for the guide, download the following items...
Rapidshare as Modaco links no longer work! (please post any other mirrors)
the 'rooted update' & the 'push files' - Download
the 'test ruu' - Download
Push files single download here
Do not unzip the rootedupdate.zip!
Once you have those on your machine, you're ready to start!
The guide
Follow through these steps, one by one and at the end of it you'll have a rooted Desire with the latest ROM.
Note: This process will wipe your device and there is currently no option to backup your device ROM before you start.
Make your microSD card into a goldcard by following these instructions (it's a good idea to back up the contents of your card first!)
Copy the 'rooted update' you downloaded above to the root of your SD card, before replacing it into your device.
Turn off your HTC desire, then turn it back on with the 'back' button held down. You'll see 'FASTBOOT' written on the screen in a red box.
Connect the phone to your computer, then run the 'test ruu' that you downloaded above (it may take a short while to start). Let the update complete and turn your device off as soon as it reaches the configuration wizard. If you need USB drivers, you can find them as part of the HTC Sync install.
Your device should now be off. Unplug the device from your computer. Turn it on again while holding down the 'volume down' button this time. The screen will look similar to before, but will say 'HBOOT' instead of 'FASTBOOT'. Use the volume buttons and the power button to select the 'RECOVERY' option. You should then see a screen with a red triangle - at this point, plug it into your Linux or OSX computer.
Now you need to unzip the 'push files' zip that you downloaded above. When you have done so, you'll see a file called 'recovery-linux.sh' or 'recovery-mac.sh'. Run the one appropriate to your operating system and the screen of your device should change to display the green recovery image menu.
In the recovery image (moving around using the optical trackball), select 'Wipe -> Wipe data /factory reset' then 'Flash zip from sdcard' and choose the rooted update. Confirm with the trackball and the update process will begin. It'll take a little while, so go make a nice cup of tea.
When the flash has finished, reboot, and you are DONE!
Optional updates
Optional update zips
Apply this updates after rooting by copying to sdcard any applying from the recovery image (entered using the recovery-xxx.sh method).

Hmm odd, ok well I think the mirror links work so I have no switched it to that. I will upload a single file to rapidshare in a second...
Hmm make that a double link (it will be easier to have two seperate than a segmented rar!)
Please don't mirror the whole guide with links here. Please change the links to point to the original post.

Sure thing Paul. Is it ok to leave the original version up? Those with linux/OS X machines (such as myself) will find it easier to do it this way
Sure, as long as there's no direct links!

Well... not quite, a torrent link is up already at Modaco, that should provide fast downloading
So what happens when you root the phone? I mean, will I lose any data since files are being flashed? Is it possible to recover said data and keep root access (if data is erased, that is).

This is all thanks to the awesome threads on this website.. No credit of programming will be claimed by me.
*warning* this can be done only if you have a device that forces the samsung galaxy s g or gt i9000 to go in to download mode.
Ok so here is the story, when the samsung galaxy S froyo beta was out I kind of editted the regedit of samsung to be able to install it...
What I didn't know and wasn't noticed by anyone as I've surfed down google to the 200th pages... was that after the reg edit update the Volume down + home button + off switch combination falls of and will not work anymore.
So I waited untill it was out officially in the Netherlands (eindhoven)
What I did was the folowing:
I went to vodafone and they tried to update it. with the force device (big blue box with 12 buttons on it with the buttons 2 and 6 were clicked down).
When they tried to update the phone went off and it lost it's complete firmware. aka PHONE - ! - COMPUTER.. I went home and searched of the web and found here that there was a kind off update.zip. (when I find it I will edit this post and upload it) I downloaded the file and extracted the contents on a SD card. I went back to vodafone and let them force the phone in to download mode again. after that odin instantly recognized and updated the phone to Android 2.2 Froyo update for Galaxy S.
So here are the simple steps.
1. Don't panic.
2. Surf this forum for the update.zip if I still haven't uploaded it. and mainly search for the tag: black screen of death. or phone + ! + computer.
When you have the file. follow step 3.
3. Extract the contents of the update.zip file to the removable SD card of your phone with another device note like root:Sd/update/(files) but like root:sd/(files) the files must be directly available to the phone without having to be searching in to another folder. and plug the sd-card back in the phone.
4. If you have such blue device to force in to download mode then just use odin and update phone. if not, then go to the nearest and trustworthy phone store and make them force it into the download mode... and follow the rest of the steps.
5. step 5 is the most attention worthy part there is: Either bring your own laptop with the correct odin and the correct files and USB cable for when it's in download mode to update it. or either give it to the person behind the counter and let him update it.
6. When froyo is installed give it time to run and scan all it needs to do, otherwise it will lagg and only frustrate you.
7. after couple of minutes froyo is ready for use. after this.look for a reliable lagg fixer because froyo laggs the same way the mind of your mother-in-law does when you're trying to talk sense in to her mind...
If I'm correct after these steps you should be able to use your phone again and have froyo installed and working.
If this hasn't worked, then I advice to either repeat these steps (hence the bring your own laptop) or let the phone-store guy do his thing and force the install. REMEMBER these people usually give up after 1 or 2 try's but it's your phone and they don't care.. so just stand firm and say, I would like you to give it another try..and if he refuses. you can just tell him you won't leave untill he has done it over and over untill it's done or let you self try it and crawl behind the counter.
ALL CREDITS GO TO THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE WRITTEN THE PROGRAMS AND GIVEN ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO COMBINE THE STEPS AND FIX THIS.
But hey if you think the credits belong to me since I wrote this guide. then by all means
I can't access the recovery mode, but I can access the download mode. I also used the Kies registry hack to upgrade to 2.2.
Which update.zip file you are talking about? There are a million different ones!
I do not have an external SD card. Is it still possible to fix the phone? No offense but your solution doesn't really offer a solution at all. It only tells us to go somewhere else to get it fixed!
What is the correct Odin, what are the correct files? PIT, PDA, PHONE, CSC, update.zip? Links?
Since people continue to only download part 1, even though I've explained fully that you MUST download BOTH parts before extracting, I have now added this at the beginning of the post, so hopefully people will actually follow the directions properly. DOWNLOAD BOTH PARTS BEFORE EXTRACTING, IT WILL NOT EXTRACT PROPERLY ONLY DOWNLOADING ONE PART!!!
This is a custom stock ROM for the Samsung Conquer 4G that has many advantages over a completely stock image. It was developed by me, Brien Johnson of XHPCreations aka brienj.
The link to the files for the ROM are at the very end of this post, but I recommend you read the FULL post while downloading the files.
- Your phone will be rooted.
- The complete FC17 update that shouldn't nag you to update to FE16. (may help to delete the FE16 update in the cache if you already had it pushed to your phone)
- Clockword Mod Recovery for making easy backups and restores.
- Completely Deodexed and ZipAligned for better performance or being able to hack further.
- All bloatware removed, i.e. SprintID
- Stock Launcher replaced by ADWLauncher. (the stock Launcher could not be deodexed, but ADWLauncher is much better and more robust)
- Debuggable.
- Custom power menu that includes, reboot, reboot into recovery, and reboot into download. (Currently the reboot into download does not work, will try to get it to work if possible in the future)
- Custom battery icons that show the actual percentage of battery power left.
- ICS Fonts for better appearance of text in phone's menus.
- Memory and network tweaks for best performance and battery savings.
- Support for running scripts on boot in init.d folder. I've included one script to help sdcard performance, feel free to add any more that you want.
- Support for standard bootanimation.zip files.
Along with these tweaks I will give instructions on improving the network performance further and changing the boot sound, as well as give links to useful programs and hacks that can be added on this phone.
I suggest only using this ROM if you have not successfully applied the FE16 OTA Update to your phone. If you have a stock FE16 phone, it MAY still work however. I can not guarantee this ROM will work for you, and I am not liable for any damage to your phone if you try to install this ...
Here are the instructions to install the custom stock ROM on a Samsung Conquer 4G with the FC17 update. It is installed in two parts, the first is if you do not already have Clockwork Mod Recovery installed, in which case follow the Odin instructions. If you have installed the CWMR already from my instructions here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1610534 then go ahead and follow the CWMR instructions.
Odin installation instructions (Use if you do not have CWMR already installed):
To enter Download Mode on the phone, make sure the phone is turned off and plugged into the wall charging. You should also make sure the phone has a good charge on it. Then turn the phone on by pressing the volume down and camera button and holding them while pressing the power button for a few seconds.
Unzip all the files on your computer and follow these steps.
1) Enter download mode on the phone and plug it into your computer.
2) Open up the Odin program in Windows, run as administrator if on a version of Windows that has such a feature, such as Windows 7. Sorry, there is no Odin for Linux based systems that I know about.
3) Press the OPS button and select the SPH-D600_FC17_CWM_XHP1.ops file.
4) Press the PDA button and select the SPH-D600_FC17_CWM_XHP1.tar.md5 file.
5) Press the Start button, the images should install and the phone reboot.
Congrats, your phone now has my Custom FC17 ROM with a CWM Recovery.
CWMR installation instructions (Use if you have CWMR installed):
Unzip all the files on your computer and follow these steps.
1) Copy the clockworkmod folder and merge it with the folder already on your SD Card. If you do not already have that folder on the SD Card, you may not have CWMR already installed, or you've never made a backup before with it.
2) Boot into CWMR by holding the volume down button and the power button while pugged into the wall charger, or by using the adb command "reboot recovery".
3) Select the menu item "backup and restore".
4) Select the menu item "restore".
5) Select the restore named "SPH-D600_FC17_CWM_XHP1".
6) Select the menu item "reboot now".
Congrats, your phone now has my Custom FC17 ROM with a CWM Recovery.
Now that the phone has the custom ROM, here are some things you can add or do to further improve performance on the phone if you wish.
First of all I recommend installing AdFree, Terminal Emulator, Titanium Backup, and if you wish ScriptManager, which can all be found on the Google Play Store. I can help you find them if needed.
For better 3G follow these steps (enter commands into Terminal Emulator or use the adb shell):
Type this command: getprop ril.MSL
It should show your MSL. Write it down.
Open the dialer and dial ##3282##
Enter your MSL
Click on "Others"
Click on "Multimedia"
Change the settings as follows:
RTSP Proxy Address: 0.0.0.0
RTSP Proxy Port: 0
HTTPPD Proxy Address: 0.0.0.0
HTTPPD Proxy Port: 0
The stock settings are:
RTSP Proxy Address: rtsp.vog.sprintpcs.com
RTSP Proxy Port: 554
HTTPPD Proxy Address: pd.vog.sprintpcs.com
HTTPPD Proxy Port: 8085
Here is how to change the boot sound:
First of all get the "poweron.snd" file from the /system/etc/ folder. It is a raw sound file which can be opened in any audio editor, such as Cool Edit Pro.
Here are the settings to select when opening it up in Cool Edit Pro for example:
Sampling Rate: 441000
Channels: Stereo
Resolution: 16-bit
Data Formatted As: 16-bit Intel PCM
Offset Input Data By: 0
Now you can listen to the boot sound in the audio editor. You can change it to your liking and save it in the same format. Remember to keep it a RAW audio file with the settings above. Replace the "poweron.snd" file with your edited audio file, retaining the same filename.
To replace the boot animation, you can find the "bootanimation.zip" file in the /system/media/ folder. Replace it with a bootanimation file of your liking. I've included a custom bootanimation that was modified to match the custom boot logo I made. I made all of it from a popular bootanimation of which I can not remember where I found it. I am not taking any credit for the original bootanimation, I just modified it to say Samsung Conquer 4G at the top and to speed up and spin faster at the end. If anyone remembers the original creator, I will add a link to it.
A great cpu tuning program that works on the phone (although won't save settings on boot for some reason), is this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1584508. From the screenshots below you can see that the phone will last almost 3 days without this program, although the other screenshot was using the program setting of PowerSave and after 20 1/2 hours it was still at 70%, but I also didn't use the phone, I just had it locked. However, when running in PowerSave mode, the phone will be very sluggish, so is only to use if you are just waiting for phone calls or just texting.
These are all the tweaks I have for now. I hope you enjoy the ROM.
I hate to bring this up, but if you like this ROM, please consider making a donation. I don't do this just for donations, I enjoy helping everyone out, but I was in a near fatal accident over two years ago and can no longer work. If you find yourself enjoying this ROM, please click on the Donate button under my name, I would really appreciate it. I can try to improve the ROM over time, but please remember that this ROM is strictly made for performance and battery life and to give you more control over your phone. I don't plan on doing any theming, and most people do ICS themes and such. Personally I hate the look of the ICS themes and the only thing I've taken from ICS, is the fonts, which I do like and look much better than the original. If you want some fancy theme, or mods like Beats Audio, I'd suggest looking for another ROM. If you want performance and longer battery life, I think you'll enjoy mine.
Take care and thank you for trying my ROM.
You must download BOTH of these files before you can extract them. After downloading them, put them both in the same folder, and open the part1.rar file up, and you can then extract the files properly. If you only download one of the two files, the files will be corrupted or not work:
Here is the link to the first file of the ROM - SPH-D600_FC17_CWM_XHP1.part1.rar
Here is the link to the second file of the ROM - SPH-D600_FC17_CWM_XHP1.part2.rar
I apologize for having to split it into two files, but I have a maximum of 200MB I can upload, as I don't have a premium account at MediaFire.

It probably would. Perhaps it uses the flash_image binary to flash the images properly, but I don't know for sure. You'd have to make sure you give it the correct names of the mtd partitions though, or it would know the correct names for them, but that's if it uses the flash_image binary. You can always flash these yourself with the flash_image binary using the mtd table I listed. If you have CWMR though, I'd just do it that way.
It doesn't list our phone in the compatible phones, which leads me to believe it only knows the partition tables for the phones listed. Perhaps if you gave them our partition table, they could make it work though.

You're welcome. Hard work is an understatement though. When I had my accident, my head was split wide open from being struck. As a result, I have serious brain damage, although I have retained most of the smarts I had before the accident, which helps. However, it takes me months to do something like this, whereas before it would have taken maybe a week or two at the most, heck, probably a couple of days to be honest. I can not concentrate, I have to do one thing at a time, and I always forget things, even something that happened a few minutes ago. This is why I can not even work, as I can not be in a competitive work environment. Heck, even posting a post will take me close to 5 or 10 minutes, from fixing all the transposed letters, double-printing of letters, grammar, etc. The first post of the thread took me about 3 hours to finish and completely type up. It may appear from my posts, that I am smart, which I don't want to brag, but I believe I am, but because of my TBI, it's not what it appears to be, as you only see the final result after all my editing. I used to hide my problem, but I am not ashamed to admit it any more.
Thanks man this is really fast. I did a test and left my phone locked and it started out at 64 than 2 hours later it was 61!! Really good battery life.

Anyway, I tried downloading part 2 a few times, and every time I extract the files, it tells me the md5 file is broken. Anyone else having this issue?

You have to have part 1 and part 2 in the same folder, then open part1. It is a two part rar file, so uses both files. By opening just the second file, it won't all be there. But both files contain the whole package, you just need to open part 1, as long as you have part 2 as well.
I had to split the rar file up because Mediafire only allows me to upload a maximum filesize of 200MB, since I don't have a premium account. I've updated this info right before the download links.

Thanks man this is really fast. I did a test and left my phone locked and it started out at 64 than 2 hours later it was 61!! Really good battery life.

Well that's great to hear it works ok for you and yes, the battery life, even without the cpu tuner program is FAR better than original. At least it has been for me. I can run an intensive program with WiFi and the phone would still last close to 10 - 12 hours. That was the whole goal of my ROM, was for longer battery life, since it sucks when stock, and I think I succeeded at it.

Ok, thanks. I was just a little worried because part 1 extracted fine, and part 2 always gave me an error, giving me the part 2 md5 as a 0 byte file.
I've never rooted through android before, so I want to make sure I've got everything squared away before I begin.

Good to hear you are no longer ashamed, plus theres no reason to be. Especially since you can whip up great stuff like this. among other things youve done.
I havent flashed it yet, as I am backing up a lot of stuff, and trying to backup all the linux stuff I installed via opkg package manager using "BotBrew", which is getting a bit complicated. Plus I have to make a nand too beforehand.
So I should be able to get to it soon. Im excited.
But by the way, now that you have the Partitioning table layout mapped out, I wonder what we could do to further expand our internal memory/storage? I wonder if we could double partition our SD cards like some others do on other devices? They basically just format their SD with FAT32 in the first (which will be the extended internal), and the next being Ext4 for SD card storage. Seems like we should be able to do the same like anyone else, especially since you got that nice bit of info through your troubles, on the partitioning.
What do you think on this position?
Take care Brien.

I am "new" to doing all of this type of work. I used to strictly do game hacking/modding, not stuff to cheat, but to make the games better and more fun. Late last year I started getting into the Android systems and seeing what I could do. I'm sure if I looked into this stuff I could figure something out eventually, but not sure how long it would really take me. This seems like something that is similar between all phones, so maybe you should see what can be done already. If it's a phone specific thing, then one of us will have to do the dirty work. I just don't know.

I've had that happen before. Here is the solution, but I'd try recopying it to your sdcard another time to make sure it was copied correctly - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=714114
Also, are you sure you downloaded BOTH of the rar files as I said in the OP, and it did not give you any errors when extracting the files?
Also, try renaming the name of the folder to only include alphanumeric symbols.
I got an error when extracting the files too. I extracted both the files to the same folder so I don't know what the problem is and I extracted the first part first and the the second. I don't know what it is
I got it to work and the Rom on my phone. Looks good! Good job. I would like to add some themes if anyone has some or knows how I could do it myself.

Sure, if that's what you want. Like I said in my original post, this ROM was made to be practical, not to be fancy. It does have the ICS fonts in it, which look a bit nicer though.

This looks really rough, but apparantly there is a boot.img, then other cracking tools can be used.
I'd love to try it, but... well... my chinese is limited to google-translate.
The URL won't post so this is a big hint:
products . mobileuncle . com / thread-202642-1-1 . html
I think I got it root on g302d u8812d

Currently on that URL is a approx 14 MB rar file download, I _think_ I just got it sorted!
I don't have time now to make this pretty, but some others who want to hack. add links, etc feel free to work with this...
in fact I dont know if all these steps are required.
General Broad steps (ymmv, you are doing this to your own dang phone, dont blame me for bricks viruses or earthquakes etc, etc/ etc).
on your computer, uninstall adb, pdanet and any other tools that use the adb drivers and dlls, reboot as needed.
install the mt6575 drivers (I forgot whether I downloaded these or if they were part of the 14 meg file) reboot as needed
power down phone.
remove battery from phone, don't plug into computer.
launch flash_tool.exe
load the included scatterloading file MT6575...emmc.txt
press the download button
plug in phone to usb
put battery in phone
watch the blinkinlights for a few seconds, wait for the big green O
then I disconnect phone and ensure power down.
install SDK
power up phone and plug in
test adb (adb shell)
kill adb server
download and install superoneclick
download extra superoneclick exploits
launch superoneclick
click the big root button.
Test (you can use something like rom manager)
Now people should be able to try to install various CWMs.
I haven't gotten that far yet.

Okay I may have found a working CWM clockworkmod recovery, but I don't have access to the chinese site, so others out there may be able to download it and try it out.

installed gapps 20110828 (via mobileuncle recovery) and I now have a market that doesn't force-close!
still getting "partners" to force close, but a lot of other stuff is working.
Great work!!! I'll try this on my phone or wait until is working?
Are the recovery and rom in chinese?
Thank a lot for testing.

It is working very well.
No need for you or anyone to wait.
Just please know what you are doing (do you have basic understanding of recovery mode, roms, factory mode, and the dangers) in other words, if this is your first time doing this on a phone.. ask someone who knows what they are doing for help because I am not able to put together a documented procedure, but the findings above should allow someone else to do that. Additionally, I have no idea of the legality or safety of the software at URLs above.
conceptually this is 4 steps
1) flash boot.img that will allow cracking
2) crack to get SU installed
3) install Mobile Uncle Recovery mode and app
4) install gapps.
The MobileUncle recovery mode is Chinese, But the mobileuncle app is kinda like rom manager, it lets you set up what happens at next boot so you don't need to read the chinese in recovery text mode.
The patched rom is working for me in English with root, no detectable problem except FC on google partners (and I can't tell if that actually does anything). Remember this is not a new rom, just a patch to the huawei rom that allows a root crack.
There are about 4 chinese apps that I am afraid to uninstall..
one appears to be a chinese app store too, kinda fun to browse
gapps must be flashed with mobileuncle recovery (don't just unzip them)
US google play store is working.
I am fully migrated to this phone now and use it for daily work.
Good luck, and remember that this is why you got an android instead of a i-Thing.
Thanks thanks again. I'll try it and don't worry this is not the first time to modify a mobile. If it is all ok i posted here.
Working u8812d
Ok... It was successfully working on my phone. I have root and change recovery and then installing gapps. Almost of the apps is working of the play store. Thanks again and hope there is a release of ICS or JB rom for our phones.
See ya!!!:good:

Thanks for the steps though the problems are still coming thick and fast, I have a new U8812D from China, no China unicom splashscreen but lots of 'bloatware' still. I've been trying for days to root this thing and nothing's working.
I'm pretty sure I need root access becasue the phone is currently preventing me from adding my Gmail account and using the google play market and apps, other bits and pieces like assigning incoming call number to a contact are supposedly fixed by getting the google thing right. The phone is good but I'm missing alot of functionality.
If the above description sounds like rooting is not the solution, please let me know and point me to the right forum, if rooting is the obviously the only way out, I'm hoping to clarify a few step in the above walkthrough to help me and others.
1. I cant install the mt6575 MediaTek drivers, installing directly gives error 'driver cannot be installed this way' there is no COM-LPT port in my device manager to attach it to as a manually locate driver, I can add a COM port with add remove hardware but I have Code 10 error, device cannot start and doesnt seem to accept the mt6575 driver as an update even when forced to it with locate new driver, apparently this is no problem from other forums, still bugging me. Maybe I havent the right files? how do i get COM-LPT ports to show up properly?
2. when 'install m6575 drivers ... reboot' is the phone plugged in? to what device do we install the drivers or should it be automatic?
3. launch flash tool, i have located two versions of the MT6575...emmc.txt file, one delivers error, block count fail and has no files paths for the item in the main table, the other refuses to open, giving error, incorrect scatter file format. The latter has considerably more data in it when read in notepad.
4. Becasue of these errors, SP flash tool does not download to phone. all subsequent steps fail.
Assuming the initial flashing steps are successful, I must to use SuperOneClick to root the phone, where do I find the extra exploits needed? or are tehy automoatically sourced by SOC? Succeeding the root access step, I assume i can freeze the apps causing problems to my google sign in or delete them. Or could I please be directed to the ATTPlain rom mentionned by JohnnyParanoia in 'Almost All Huawei Stock Roms (Firmware) - Updated 28/06/12' board.
Since so many of the resource files I've trawled through are bung, anyone who can point me to reliable/tested files known to work with the U8812d I'd greatly appreciate in on top of the great appreciation I already have for your patience with a Noob. I located the 14Mbit .rar file mentioned above but not all parts worked, had to dl the different programs individually and some files had to hunt down form fileshare sites.
Lastly, i am using an HP laptop, Windows 7 64-bit, Thanks in advance.
Michael

Thanks for the simple instructions. Installed fine on my linx 7 tablet once i'd fixed the bluestacks installer.
Unfortunately it displays at 90 degrees to the orientation of the win8.1 desktop and frankly runs slower than a sleeping man.
I had hoped to re-purpose my linx7 as an android device but not yet clearly. They're so well priced I'm sure there'll be some interesting hacks along in time.
Thanks again.
