[How To] Install Bluestacks with 1GB RAM or Without Graphic Card - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

There are many people who might be suffering from errors like “Graphic card should be updated”, “Graphic card not supported” or “Insufficient memory or hardware error” while installing Bluestacks in their low specs system. It could be easily resolved. It is possible to bypass this error by a software called Oracle. Oracle is a table editor of Microsoft Database that allows you to edit Windows Installer packages (.msi) files. With the advancement in software technology, it is crossing the barriers of hardware tendency. After following some simple editing and tweaking you would be easily able to install Bluestacks with 1 GB RAM or without graphic card.
Steps to install Bluestacks in low specs system:
At first, download Bluestacks Offline installer from this page
BlueStacks_HD_AppPlayerICS_setup_0.8.5.3042_REL.msi
Click to collapse
NOTE: This trick only works on Offline installer not on Split installer.
Now, download and install Orca Software from this link – Download Orca.
After finishing the installation of Orca, go to the Bluestacks offline installer file which you have downloaded from the above link.
Right click on the Bluestacks offline installer file and select “Edit with Orca” as shown in the below image.
It would open the window of Orca. Click on “Launch Condition” on your left side and select “Installed OR Physical Memory >= 1024” Condition as shown in the below image. Delete this option and press OK.
Now, go to “InstallExecuteSequence” and select “CheckMsiSignature” as shown in the below image. Delete this option also and press OK.
Now, go to “Property” and double click on the “TRUE” value of GLMODE. Replace it with FALSE and press Enter.
Now, Click on the Save button icon and close Orca software.
That’s it you are done. Now, try installing Bluestacks from the saved Offline installer setup file. Hopefully, it will run in your system successfully this time.
Please press the thanks button.

Thanks for the simple instructions. Installed fine on my linx 7 tablet once i'd fixed the bluestacks installer.
Unfortunately it displays at 90 degrees to the orientation of the win8.1 desktop and frankly runs slower than a sleeping man.
I had hoped to re-purpose my linx7 as an android device but not yet clearly. They're so well priced I'm sure there'll be some interesting hacks along in time.
Thanks again.

Hi,
I am trying to get the BlueStacks App Player 0.9.23.5302 Superuser BSEasy installed on my 8.1 but receiving every time an error. Actually cant find something in the log.
Anyone has an idea?

DroidBoot
This is a small app I made to start Android / Linux at Windows Mobile boot.
Thanks to JMZtaylor and yozgatg for their dual-boots, I just got tired of clicking everytime I started my phone so made this.
I feel we are getting very close to a day to day usable version of Android! I already use it instead of windows mobile since about 6 days ago.
The .cab file installs the app to Program Files/DroidBoot. It also creates a reg entry to autostart the app which launches ClrCad.exe and HaRET.exe at boot if found. If HaRET.exe does not exist on Storage Card/ or in Storage Card/Android the app will exit and Windows Mobile will start as normal.
If you want to use WinMobile. Eject SD card before boot.
WARNING!! May cause Windows Mobile to become inaccessible if installed on a phone with only internal storage!

If it doesnt start and you get an error. you may need the .Net compact framework 3.5

Did you try installing the .net framework?
Did you get an error message?
doesn't work for downloaded the framework still doesn't work
The download link doesnt work
can you upload it again?
Reuploaded on zshare.
To the people who say it doesnt work. Can you check in a registry editor if the value got added to init.
You are looking for:
Hkey_Local_Machine/init
And there should be a string value in there which says "Launch72" "Program Files/DroidBoot/Droidboot.exe" if its not there. That could be the problem.
Another idea is that it might not work on non WWE roms. Due to the storage card and or program files being named differently.
Why don't you just use the Energy ROM "Desire v5" from NRGZ its maybe way better than using an application, opinion

Then you should hardcode the file to that location and not use %programfiles% for installation of those files in the cab. The language of the rom doesn't mather anymore then.
Thanks for the idea, will implement it asap!
Edit: Part of my code in the app refers to /Storage Card/, when its trying to find haret. Any ideas to get around that?
Gav check http:--msdn.microsoft.com-en-us-library-aa446567.aspx#spfiles_topic_05 for your Storage Card location solution. Replace "-" with "/"
does this works for touch pro 2

For some reason after like two days my next 3 asked me to update automatically.ALl you have to do is connect a usb cord to the pc and then turn off usb and it will update on its own and go into recovery.
So great ..thank u
Greetings all!
I have made several attempts at installing Market on my Next3 tablet with varying failures. Here is what I've done (with some details for those who haven't gotten this far):
1. Downloaded update.img from the provided link onto my Windows 7 64 bit PC.(I assume update.img to be a compressed opsys file which the Nextbook's Linux opsys recognizes (by its name/extension) and automatically launches it.)
2. With the Next3 running, I connect the USB cord to my computer.
3. I copy the update.img to the root of my 4gig sdhc card. (root being NOT in a folder or directory but at the top of the dir tree i.e. ROOT)
4. from my PC, I click on Safely Remove Hardware icon (found in the system tray) and disconnect the Next3 Tablet.
5. As soon as the PC disconnects the Next3 Tablet, a bar pops up on the Next3 screen asking if I wish to install the newly found update.img. (I disconnect the USB cord prior to answering)
6. I tell Next3 to install.
7. The screen displays update.img's installation progress and then reboots.
8. After Next3 arrives at the HOME page, I access SETTINGS-> WIRELESS & NETWORKS and enable an internet connection
9. Then I access APPS (middle icon at the bottom of the screen) and tap MARKET.
10. I am then asked for a google login. I provide a GMAIL e-mail address
11. I am prompted to accept a license agreement (don't recall which came first #10 or 11)
12. After a few moments, there is the huge list of apps!!!
13. Have done this 3 times now. I have never been able to actually download an app. It always fails.
14. On the first occasion, I checked to clear the cache as mentioned in item #5 of the instructions on this page: Market Fix if not working
15. I found every time that I followed this step, the only item cache that was not grayed out was Market.
16. QUESTION! Exactly what means "Reboot Device"? (Item #6 of the instructions). Does it mean powering down (shutting off) the Next3 and then turning it back on or is it referring to the RESET button on the back of the Next3?
17. I powered it off and then turned it back on; still no luck downloading. Each and every time, it failed.
18. I then redid steps 2 thru 10. This time, the same google e-mail login (I believe) would not allow me to connect to the Market network.
19. I then redid steps 2 thru 10 AGAIN. This time, using a different Google gmail account. I was successful connecting to the Market Network.
20. and again, see #13
21. and again, see #15 - 17
So there you have it. Truly wish to get this installed. I welcome any suggestions!
Thank you!
can you post the link other than megaupload since they are shutdown now

[APP] Android Loader v1.0 for HD Mini (Dual Boot Option and Start Menu Icon)

I was asked to port my Android Loader for the HD2 so that the HD Mini users could have the same benefits of automating the boot process. The result is this thread and I hope you can benefit from my work.
**PLEASE READ ALL THIS POST BEFORE DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLING THE APP TO AVOID ANY PROBLEMS**
**IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS PLEASE READ POST2 *HERE* BEFORE POSTING YOUR PROBLEM IN THE THREAD**
--------------------------------------
--------------------------------------
This Android Loader will allow you to do a few things. Firstly you can start Android easily once you are already in Windows. It comes with a cool looking icon in the Start Menu and you can add it to Sense or Mobile Shell or whatever you use as your day to day interface.
INSTALL THIS APP TO DEVICE MEMORY!! DO NOT INSTALL TO STORAGE CARD OR YOU MAY HAVE PROBLEMS!!
After installation you will be asked if you want a dual boot option after you start your phone. If you do then you can set your default Operating System (Android or Windows Mobile), then you will be asked for an AutoBoot timeout (3, 5, 10, 20, 30 or 60 seconds). You will then be asked which Icons you want to be displayed in the Start Menu (Android and Android AFTER a Soft Reset with no prompts). The 'Android with Soft Reset' icon will allow you to boot cleanly into Android straight after Windows Mobile finishes loading if you dont want a Dual Boot option.
Lastly you will be asked to select the Path where your Android files have been copied to. At the moment your Android files are copied to the ROOT of the 'STORAGE CARD' and this is what should be selected, unless they are moved in future Development updates of Android.
If you set up a Dual Boot option then after a soft reset of your phone, as soon as WindowsMobile loads up you will be prompted to choose what you want to boot into. If you make no selection then your default Operating System will be Auto loaded after the time out.
Last but by no means least there is a folder in the Start Menu called 'Android Loader' which holds a Manager app. With this app you can change any of the default settings. There are also 2 switches in this Start Menu Folder. Fast Mode will load Android as soon as the icon is clicked, Safe Mode will always ask for confirmation when the icon is clicked to avoid accidental loading.
When Android loader runs it will run Haret_Photon7227.exe after a 1 second delay which will start Android.
--------------------------------------
--------------------------------------
This app should work with ANY language Rom as a script searches for the correct name of the Storage Card when it is first run. If there are any problems with non WWE Roms then please let me know.
DONT ASK IN THIS THREAD ABOUT QUESTIONS OR PROBLEMS WITH ANDROID. THIS IS TO BE KEPT JUST ABOUT THE ANDROID LOADER.
--------------------------------------
--------------------------------------
Cab Useage:
1. Make sure you have your desired build of Android copied across to your Storage Card BEFORE installing this app.
2. INSTALL THE CAB TO DEVICE MEMORY (IN WINDOWS MOBILE)!! DO NOT INSTALL TO STORAGE CARD!!
3. You will now be asked if you want a prompt everytime you start WindowsMobile to run Android or continue to Windows. This is your Autoboot setting. If you select No then you wont get a prompt after WindowsMobile boots up.
4. You will now be asked which Android links you want displayed in the Start Menu (Android, Android with Soft Reset or Both).
5. You will now be asked select the folder where your Android files are copied to. THIS SHOULD BE SET TO STORAGE CARD (WITH NO SUB FOLDER)!! You only have to do this once, it will remember the settings until you uninstall the program.
NOTE: If your icons dont change in HTC Sense after upgrading the cab then install and run SICC (Sense Icon Cache Clearer) *HERE* and your new icon will be shown after a soft reset.
--------------------------------------
--------------------------------------
I made this as a favour to the HD Mini Community. If you find it useful you do not have to donate if you dont wish to but please hit the THANKS Button to show your appreciation.
Enjoy
Mark.
Problem Solving
To check your Settings you must have a Registry Editor installed on your Phone (free ones can be googled):
Browse to HKLM, Software, MSkipAndroidLoader
Check all the Sub Folders are set correctly
- AndroidFolder: Should be set to \Storage Card (or equivalent for your language),
- AutoTimeout: Duration til AutoBoot (in Seconds),
- BootupOS: Android or WindowsMobile,
- Mode: Fast or Safe,
- StartupOption: Yes or No
-----------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------
Android isn't loading:
Did you copy your Android files to the root of the Storage Card first? Yes
Did you install this app to DEVICE Memory? Yes. Are you Sure? YES.. Are you ABSOLUTELY SURE?? Ok maybe I installed it to Storage Card..
This App must be installed to DEVICE MEMORY or it could have problems. Uninstall the Loader from Start, Settings, System, Remove Programs and reinstall to DEVICE MEMORY.
-----------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------
I Installed to Storage Card by mistake and now it wont uninstall:
In your File Manager browse to Device, Program Files and Delete the MSkip Android Tools folder
Next using a Registry Editor browse to HKLM, Software and Delete the MSkipAndroidLoader folder
Lastly try reinstalling the Cab to DEVICE MEMORY (it should let you now)
-----------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------
If you have read through this and still have problems then post your problem in the thread and you will be helped
Mark.

Please give us more details as it is doubtful your issue is related to this Android Loader v1.0 cab. For example, is it the same result if you manually select Haret_Photon7227.exe from SDCard and start Android? Is it the same issue if you boot into Windows Mobile?
If you have only just installed Android to your HD Mini, perhaps you use the manual method for a few times so there are no booting issues. Without knowing the full details it could simply be that your files zImage, initrd.gz, system.ext2, STARTUP.TXT, HARET_PHOTON7227.exe and the update directory are NOT installed in your SDCard root directory ie. (SDCard\)

i never have problem to boot Haret from sdcard before this... my hd mini working just fine in android... i been try not to make its in sleep mode, but my phone is not stop loading even after 2hour.. its look like my phone be very2 slowly...
This is unusual as Android Loader v1.0 cab does not change the ROM bootloader. it merely automates the process of having to go into the SDCard then selecting Haret_Photon7227.exe. Maybe you could try the solution that -rObin- applied in post #13 and that is to make sure that Android Loader v1.0 setting is physically selected as the sdcard\ ie. Storage Card root. To change this you need to go into the windows mobile start menu folder called Android Loader (as explained in post #1) then select the Manager application to change the default directory to "Storage Card" then press OK.
Otherwise if this still does not fix things, please uninstall Android Loader v1.0 cab so the associated Android Loader v1.0 cab HKLM settings can be removed as well as the software, then try manually selecting Haret_Photon7227.exe from \SDCard directory and start Android. Is the result the same?

Archived OP (Meant for the Alpha build)
Bluestacks Alpha is out today and with some snooping, I managed to install some apks both from the phone and directly from the computer. Perhaps someone wants to try to give it a root and a soft honeycomb keypad? (I am also currently trying to root it) EDIT: Root and soft keypad hacks available below!

GizmoStack for the newbies:
http://freestacks.me/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=9
How to install apks from the computer (WARNING: Apps installed this way CANNOT be removed):
1) Right-click on the .apk file and click on "Open with..."
2) Click on "Browse..."
3) Navigate to "C:\Program Files\BlueStacks" or for 64-bit computers, "C:\Program Files (x86)\BlueStacks"
4) Double-click on "HD-ApkHandler.exe"
5) Click on "Ok"
Bluestacks will install the .apk file and notify you when its done.
What I have found out so far:
1) Not rooted EDIT: Rooted but not of any use (Update #8)
2) Its a full Android emulation, with Android itself installed on a emulated sdcard
3) Its soft-buttons are mapped to Android's hardware buttons, but the home button is removed, and apps are run using a custom launcher/windows sidebar gadget EDIT: Temporary fix using Button Savior (find it on alternative market) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18625951&postcount=67)
4) Android market can be synced onto the computer if its a custom rom (not tested for standard roms with the original market as I have a HD2) but does not work as there is not way to add an account to it EDIT: It appears to be blocked from accessing Google's servers. (Appears to be fully working, but requiring an account) "RE"EDIT: See updates below for instructions on how to get market to work. (Update #2)
5) Custom homescreens can be installed, although it only runs when you somehow find the homescreen selection menu (I installed a apk through my computer, and when I removed it via Astro File Manager's uninstall, the icon for the app stayed in the Windows Sidebar Gadget and selecting it allowed me to choose between homescreens, widgets work on custom homescreens.
6) Settings can be accessed via a custom launcher (See attached screenshot: Bluestacks.jpg)
7) Attached screenshot contains the phone info and Android version
Updates for newly discovered hacks (NOTE: Pictures are ommited from the quotes due to lack of space, to view the pictures, click on the OP links! Also, if I missed out on anything or any post, feel free to point it out!):
1) Removing Fullscreen (OP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18358866&postcount=17):

2) Enable Market (See attached files: Market.zip) (OP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18336028&postcount=7):
Notes on app installations:
a) Some users reported installation failures from the market, and the workaround is to tap/click retry a couple of times (OP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18377956&postcount=16)
b) Installation of certain apps may fail with the error "INSTALL_FAILED_CPU_ABI_INCOMPATIBLE" as BlueStacks currently doesn't support binary translation and there is no workaround to this yet (OP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18376033&postcount=15)

sorry for the mess in pictures... but I had a hard time remembering what I did last night but you'll be ok

Ok first you need to install Bluestacks Cloud in your phone, after u set it up and all, you need to install AWD Launcher and sync it with BC (Bluestacks Cloud), install it in ur computer... and open it, after that B will ask you to set a default launcher, choose AWD, then you have a full home Android... done with that.
Un rar DATA.IMG Maker.rar to desktop
(remember to stop any progress with Task Manager related to Bluestacks, even sidebar.exe)
Next step. navigate to "C:\ProgramData\BlueStacks\Android" and make a backup of SDCard.fs like this SDCard.fs.bak - then rename the SDCard.fs to SDCard.ext3
Next: open Resize SD.bat, as seen in picture inside the folder " DATA.IMG Maker"
Next: check " fine file" and navigate to "C:\ProgramData\BlueStacks\Android" and open SDCard.ext3
In the pic I didn't check "resize file only no rezide2fs", but you have to check it or click it on...
Next: check the "resize file only no rezide2fs" " you can resize it to 100GB ++ if want it and click "Resize File" ... wait till done. PIC
Next: after finishing the process... and drag amd drop on top of "mke2fs.exe" and type " Y " and Enter... wait for it to finish as seen in PIC and then.... just change the extension back to .fs like this SDCard.ext3 to -----> SDCard.fs
Next start the Bluestacks Gadget in start menu... wait for it to load and open AWD launcher .. PIC 6 and PIC 7
Next: you gonna see in top Notification bar a lil SD card... that's what we want! just click it and format your sd card and your [email protected]! PIC 10 thru 13
just click format
deleting...
and done! 10GB SD Card
In logs theres alot of information about what the process does and when, also info on the kernel and staff like that, I think I can edit the HD-Service.exe ... it handles kernel loads and much more... I think can be edited with Restorator 64bits witch I have ....but like I said before I have a 32bit *****ty netbook.. I cant run Restorator.. till next week (getting Alienware) and I can continue the Development of Hacking Bluestacks. I dont know much about Andoid Linux, but I know alot about Windows, I can provide my help on anything, count on me with that
Oh, and ext2explore.exe is an ext2 (I think ext3 too) partition explorer for windows
Hope I helped you all

Installing a 3rd party launcher gives you about what you'd expect from a launcher
The included rom has no gapps support, you would need to re-include the gapps frameworks/stuff before market will work. Which would require editing the system image or rooting and manually replacing them.
The filesystem is located in
%ProgramData%\BlueStacks\Android
Data.fs is a standard ext img
Root.fs is a ext img that contains
System.sfs which is a squashfs img that contains
System.img which is a ext img that contains system\
There already is a xbin\su which might be a dummy to block it from being rooted.
You likely cant edit the system partition without rebuilding it offline and restarting the vm as squashfs is a readonly format, not to mention that it's a FS in a FS in a FS.

You can do this VERY EASY! but I'll recommend that you first install Launcher Pro or ADW (you can sync the app using the BlueStacks Android app) then set as your default home. Once you have done that you can open Launcher Pro trough the gadget at any time.
Then open Eclipse go to your "Device Manage" tab and under "Android Remote Device" add a new entry like this:
Name: (whatever you want to name it)
Host: 127.0.0.1
Port: 5555
And you are done! BlueStacks is WAYYYYYYYYYY faster to lunch apps that the regular android emulator. I did a small app for testing/debug and it installed/lunch/debug just fine on BlueStacks.

With the way root.fs is organized it wouldnt matter if system was remountable in RW mode, squashfs by design is read-only.
Even if you could modify system i wouldnt expect bluestacks to be able to rewrite/rebuild the root.fs
The only way (currently known) would be to rebuild the filesystem offline. If bluestacks supported something like unionfs to overlay on top of it it would be possible to change it, but it would be on an overlay file and not directly modifying rootfs.
If you could make it so bluestacks could mount root.fs and have system\ directly in that instead of inside root.fs/system.sfs/system.img that would make it act like a normal modifying partition.
They might be intentionally using squashfs to make it harder to modify, given that bluestacks is ment for pcs and squashfs is more approporate on resource limited systems it sounds reasonable.

ok, got it sorta working.. maybe someone would like to improve on it for me....
So.. in brief the new version asks you to select an app from it's own launcher.. Swapping a file will allow it to go straight into android...
ok, how to do it.
1. Goto....C:\Users\YOUR USER ACCOUNT\AppData\Local\BlueStacks\Launcher folder
2. Rename launcher.html to launcher.html.bak (just to be safe )
3. Open up notepad and paste in the below code
Code:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head></head>
<body onload="refreshUI()">
<script src="js/jquery-1.5.1.min.js"></script>
<script src="js/slides.min.jquery.js"></script>
<script type="text/jscript" language="jscript">
function refreshUI() {window.external.RunApp("", "", "")}
</script>
</body>
</html>
Save this as a new launcher.html and copy it into the launcher folder above..

BlueStacks currently doesn't support binary translation, ergo your error. Fixes to come, one could only assume.
1. I installed ADW launcher EX and
2. Got Market to work, thanks to following post

The apps can be downloaded. It gives error everytime, but press RETRY a couple of times and you will be able to install the app.
I downloaded the Dropbox and installed many apps from there. The apps which are not supported in the above MARKET (its old version of market), failed to open (like Glow Hockey Pro failed but Air Hockey was installed successfully).
Apparently this device is HTC MAGIC or HERO. The android vrsion running is 2.3.4 but all the wallpapers are from 1.5. It doesnt support Flash, and doesnt allow advanced apps to run.
Also I tried to update MARKET but it failed to install.
3. I entered Android Initial Setup mode, finger pressed the Android logo but it didnt go further.
4. I tried to root it with GingerBreak, but dont know how to reboot.

[Tutorial] Proscan PLT-7035-PL Root and install GAPPS

Rooting and installing Google Play on the Proscan PLT7035-PL ** UPDATED **
*** Disclaimer ***
I am not responsible for bricked tablets, voided warranties, crashed computers and/or global thermonuclear war! This is what worked for me if you are unsure of anything in the following steps STOP NOW! There is no factory rom released for this tablet. If you brick it your possibly stuck until if and when they release an update!
These instructions assume you are competent to do the folling: get files on and off of your device using the mass storage driver, able to edit and understand changes to inf files, use command prompt, edit system user files and have enough patence to read all of the steps without skipping any. There are a few gotcha's that if are skipped will leave you pulling your hair out. Also these instructions are written for Windows. If your using Linux you shouldn't need my help anyways ..

This tutorial may also work on other Chinese generic tablets. You would only need get the hardware vendor and product ID's from the device info for step 2. For the purpose of this post I wont be getting into that but the information is out there.. GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND
Introduction
Its likely if you are reading you have recently visited Big Lots and scored a $69 7" tablet. Only to get home and find virtually NO information on rooting it or installing Google Play or GAPPs. I know I was in that boat but after a few hours of messing around I got it. I am writing this to hopefully help the hundreds of others I see out there asking for help on this.
Step 1 Download Stuff (Things to round up before you even think about starting)
Root with Restore by Bin4ry v15 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460 .** UPDATE ** I attached the version I used to this post
ADB Drivers - You have several options here, milage may very.** UPDATE ** I attached USB drivers to this post. I had to seperate the 64 and 32 bit drivers to get the files under the 8 mb limit for uploads
install android SDK http://dl.google.com/android/android-sdk_r21-windows.zip and follow instructions to get the google usb drivers. Search XDA there are several guides, I couldn't find the one I used as of writing this article but there are many out there.
Search google and find a zip with just the ADB drivers.
Download Super One Click Root and use the drivers in the tools directory of the zip. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
Root Explorer - quick way to move and remount file systems rw with ease. I used v2.13.1. Google around and find an APK to install, just be careful there is another completely differnent package out there called "rooted explorer" it may work but I have not tried it. ** UPDATE ** I attached the version I used to this post
Google Apps for ICS - gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip is what I used from http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip ** Update ** I replaced the URL with a direct download link from goo.im enjoy!
**NOTE** SUPER ONE CLICK ROOT WILL NOT ROOT YOUR TABLET SO DON'T BOTHER TRYING!
Step 2 install and configure your ADB USB Drivers (Let the fun begin)
Extract your zip file containing the ADB USB drivers or Install the Android SDK and follow instructions on how to use the SDK manager to download the lastest drivers from google.
Once downloaded edit the inf file (usually named android_winusb.inf)
Add the following under the [Google.NTx86] heading and again under the [Google.NTamd64] heading: (one is for 32bit systems and the other is for 64 bit Systems)
Code:
;ProScan plt-7035
%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_2207&PID_0010
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_2207&PID_0010&REV_0222&MI_01
After saving and exiting. Turn on USB Debugging on your tablet. It is under Settings => Developer Options and is the first option at the top make sure it has a check in the checkbox. Exit the developer screen by pressing back or the home key and plug in your tablet to a usb port on your computer using a micro-USB cable.
Device detection should at this point detect a few devices but at least 1 will fail without drivers. Possibly more on XP systems..
Under Device Manager => Other Devices you should have a device called "PLT7035-PL" use the usb drivers modifed above to install the ADB USB Drivers.
*** Important Note ***
At this point even with the ADB Driver installed ADB will not see the tablet. We have to create or edit the file c:\users\whatever your username is\.android\adb_usb.ini
If you have already run ADB at any time on your system the file and directory should already exist. If not you will need to create the directory and the file.
on a single line simply add this to a blank line in the file and save and exit:
0x2207
This tells ADB to look for that vendor code. (if you allready have ADB on your computer 'adb devices' should now show your tablet.
** UPDATE ** This is still necessary even if using the drivers attached to this post!

Ive tried this several times. It hasn't worked yet. Maybe I am doing it wrong, not sure. Ill keep trying but I am losing hope.
I am trying with a Proscan PLT7035-PL
worked ... Many thanks to amjtech ...
Here's how to do it:
Install Android SDK, then install Android SDK Tools, Android SDK Platform-Tools, Google USB Driver (download from google)
Install PdaNet for Android on PC.
Attach Proscan pad, check Settings->Developer options->USB debugging to on
XP install adb driver - if unsuccessful, need modify registry
regedit under HKLM/SYSTEM Permissions -> Advance, check replace permission entries on all child
(http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/252428-45-installation-failed-access-denied)
Install USBDeview, run to see usb device attached, get device ID of PROSCAN pad (0x2207)
Add device ID to file adb_usb.ini in c:\docume~1\<user>\.android, also add google's id:
0x2207
0x18d1
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1479311)
Now device will show running
Install ICS Root Unlocker 1.0, run ... got rooted.
Download Root Explorer (2.21.1).apk, Google Play Store (3.8.16).apk, and gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip from 4shared
http://www.4shared.com/folder/k86VyEKK/_online.html

Unfortunately as stated above there is no factory rom available for these tablets yet... I am looking into using rkflash or rkflashtool to download my rom prerooted so I have a backup and also can post a rooted rom for everyone. Most likely later this week I should have some time to figure out the rkflashtool and get it dumped.
I will post it here once it is done.
I'm going to say this now. I have a very busy schedule so I cannot guarantee when I will get this accomplished.
Also if this works for you please hit the thanks button.

Confused as heck !!
OK, I am confused as heck here. I have the SDK installed. I have the USB Drivers installed. The PC sees the phone just fine, I can browse the internal storage and the external sd card with no problem. Windows XP Device Manager shows Android Phone, and under that the Android Composite ADB Interface.
PDANet works with the phone, no problem. However, adb devices never shows the device, and the Root program cannot find it either. At this point, I'm stumped. Any ideas what I need to do? I have put the android_usb.ini file in c:\Documents and Settings\myusername\Android with the necessary hex codes for the device and for Google. I'm going nuts here!
I know ADB is installed properly, because I can plug my phone into the PC and run adb devices, and it's detected just fine. It's just this tablet it can't find.
FIX: Not as obvious as it might have been, but here is the solution to my problem. I used the Search function to find the adb_usb.inf file - umm... it's in .android, not android. Once I added those ids, everything was fine.
No Market?
Achieved root, copied over the system folder from the zip, but no market. Did I miss something?
What about Recovery?
Just wondering if there is a recovery option as yet? That would be so helpful!

Yeah, this happened to me too. And for some reason, when you go to the \system folder and look in apps there is another apps folder in there. I think there is something really odd going on with root manager possibly. I don't know what the deal is, but none of the Google Apps are running.
I've tried several older 4.0.x versions of GAPPS, and I will be danged if I can get any of them to work. I'm rooted OK, but that's all that worked thus far.
Good instructions! But failure... and then success
The instructions were great above! The pointer to the version of google play was bad, but I found this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1934441 and after using Root explorer to do the appropriate permissions at / and /system, and on the renamed file, it works!

Now that I got Google Play to work...
I am having an odd problem however - the installation of apps stalls at 0% for about 30 seconds, and then continues. And as the percentage is updated, I see app screens cycling. And little google play shopping bags start to stack up in my "task tray" area of the tablet.
Does anybody else have that problem? It's very annoying! It seems like the downloaded apps not only install but open, eating up precious memory.
Speaking of which, how is the flash memory used? (4 GB), and not having apps take up the 500 MB that's available?

It is 4GB shared. I haven't tried looking at the partition table.
There is only 2GB usable, it's on the TF card, I moved the apps there.
Not sure how to access the SD card to put apps there.

My GAPPS are working fine. I thought about killing that /system/system folder and manually placing the files via adb.
Try checking the permissions too, I think they need to be 644 or better.
I've put the Tablet away for now, I will tinker again later probably.

How do you move your apps there? I'm aware of the app called something like app2SD, but the TF card isn't an SD card.

You have to extract the zip file, remount the file systems as rw and copy the /system folder from the zip into the / of the device so that all the files goto their proper places... if you have /system/system it was not copied correctly...
as far as those not getting ADB to reconize the tablet.. a) make sure you have usb debugging turned on and b) you put the hardware id in the adb_usb.ini file.. See the ** important note ** in Step 2!
Unzipping Files
I have read and followed your directions to download the files, but, my unit keeps saying it can not open any zip files.
Do you have any idea why it may say this or how to get around this problem so I can continue as instructed?
unzip on your computer and transfer over, or use root explorer

You can unzip them on your computer and then transfer them over, or use root explorer on your tablet. You'll have to hold your finger on the .zip file for a few seconds and then the unzip option pops up.
Well, everyone be careful! When my Google Play would not install properly, I tried to clean the tablet up, ie, put it back to its original condition. Somehow, I managed to cause something to crash, and from then on, the tablet won't boot past the Android startup screen, although I can adb into it and it is still rooted, etc. What I've got now is a project tablet - HOW TO UNBRICK THE BRICK.
my bricked too

try doing an ADB shell
then the following commands
su
wipe data
this will reset the user partition. I had something similar happen on mine.. BTW 'wipe all' will definitly brick your tablet so be carefull
If you still cannot get it I was almost in a car accident yesterday and my tablet went flying and broke the screen... If you confident with a soldering iron I now have a plt-7035 mainboard prerooted and playstore installed for sale for $25 including shipping.. it would involve soldering 6 wire and the wifi antenna if your up to it pm me,, I know its good as I was able to ADB into it and run su and wipe data to reset it..
