Petition to Samsung about raising the CPU frequency - Galaxy Ace II General

 Hello friends, comrades, the owners of SAMSUNG GALAXY ACE 2 I8160! Our colleagues from Russia decided to send a petition to Samsung for our apparatus that Samsung would have raised the CPU frequency to 1000 MHz! I ask who cares subscribe need to vote!
Here is the link to the signature - http://www.change.org/ru/петиции/ко...мартфона-samsung-galaxy-ace-2-до-штатных-1ггц
Sent from my GT-I8160 using xda premium

Samsung will surely not change the frequency. If they actually do it, then phones like s-advance and beam would not be bought as the ace 2 is much cheaper and offer good specs. As far as I think, the petition is useless.

If you could write down this petition in English than I am sure that more people would sign it. English is not my mother language, neither Russian, but I know both (a bit). I assume that most of the people clicking on your link would think: "I do not understand a $h1t ... meh". Google Translate is an option, cause it wont allow you to sign petition using some browsers (just like using 4PDA thru Google Translate)
Regarding performance with U8500 at 1 Ghz... my wife have i9070 and I must say that it is not faster device at all. It does not feel more snappy and games are running the same as on Ace2. Of course there is +400 points in Antutu for i9070, but thats all. I9070 drains more battery at normal tasks with its 1GHz. In fact Ace2 and S Advanved are underpowered due low speed EMMC and RAM used and it is a fact. i8190 is much more fluid because it has better RAM/EMMC and I am not talking about size of it.
Instead of asking about raising clock ... we should ask for releasing complete JB sources for Ace 2.

dream guys, dream.. This make no sense.. It's impossible, there are many reason (Declaration of conformity in primis) that can make this request impossible..

Its better if you write it in formal English so that more people will support and samsung will be able to read it too. Trust me, samsung wont have time to translate it to English.

I don't think this will work. Petition to ST Ericsson for releasing the sources and informations about our SOC would make more sense...

Maybe it's a good idea

Petition is pointless. With the same thinking I can write a petition to my corner shop that I want 2 bottles of milk for the price of one, because it is better. I am 101% sure that it will not work.

Now this is outstanding! - Samsung and official CM7 support

According to this article, Samsung might be well on its way to using CyanogenMOD 7 on its smartphones. I use a custom CM7 on my HD2 and love it. It can only be a good thing for Samsung phones.
http://pocketnow.com/android/cyanogenmod-in-the-works-for-galaxy-s-ii-thanks-to-samsung
Interesting and very cool! Hopefully others will follow...
i would definitly buy samsung if they used cm as stock it would make modding so easy
Wow. Just goes to show that CM is amazing. Congrats on the recognition you all!
wow, really nice!
Worth to write about it, thanks!
I think people are taking this the wrong way. Rather than Samsung selling the phone with CM7 preloaded they are simply encouraging the community to support it with custom ROMs...in this case Cyanogenmod.
Am I wrong?

Exactly.
They gave one guy a free phone, they're not officially supporting CyanogenMod.
Call my cynical but I think this is just a shrewd piece of marketing.
It curries favour with people who have an interest in modding and will probably boost sales of the Galaxy S2 in such circles, especially with those who are firm CM fans.
It's no different to giving away freebies to 'celebs', except this might actually boost sales for them.
It's a good ploy. I certainly wouldn't buy a device now unless it was CM supported.
Sounds like Samsung is using this as a tool to add backdoor pressure on carriers to stop holding back updates and loading the roms with crap. Pretty crafty on their part to directly appeal to the mod community.
Sent from a device powered by hamsters.
So.... does this mean no locked bootloaders/easy root exploits? :-D
EDIT: Would be nice to see HTC follow suit. I'm not bound to any 1 company but the original incredible was and still is (thanks in part to the CM devs) an amazing bit of hardware
Good on you Samsung
I applaud Samsung in supporting developers this way and supporting us consumers in being able to further customise our phones.
Whatever the reason is behind Samsung doing this as long as we benefit thats a good thing.
I hope then that these customised ROMS and MODS etc will always be free.
I bought a Samsung Galaxy S II after using HTC phones for so long.
Good on you Samsung
Cheers
Aussie
Well Done Samsung Komap Sunida Samsung
Still won't use another Samsung product after using a Vibrant for several months.
Congrats to both Samsung & the CM team.
its very nice for samsung to not be afraid if someone would sue them lol
Google once issued a C&D to cyanogen.
If samsung would give their proprietary code to CM, hmm i don't actually know the legalities but hey.. i'm sure somewhere there's an agreement breach?
hehe but negativities aside
Go CM team!
great and very good karma samsung!
+1
if samsung use cm7 ..... there will be no 3g video call anymore right?

Petition to Qualcomm to continue providing Snapdragon S3 support

Sign and share.
This also affects One S S4 users because they won't receive updates because of us - S3 users. Petition link will be sent to all major Qualcomm contact e-mail and smartphone portals because no-one likes negative publicity.
http://androidandme.com/2013/07/new...-forced-htc-to-pull-one-s-android-4-2-update/
What about a petition to forbid petitions on xda...
Why does it matter?
Somehow I doubt 100 people will be enough to convince Qualcomm.
Seeing that 100,000 isn't enough for HTC
I've signed the petition, but let's be honest: Even though this petition has been posted in many forums, it's as productive as a water drop on a hot stone. We can do whatever we want, but when it comes to updates, us, the xda community and other people who want Qualcomm to continue providing sources and the manufacturers to push out further updates, we will never be able to force them to do that.
My 2 cents being said, I also wanted to give kudos to the users who started the petition and shared it with us.

I have been there during the MSM7227 days when Qualcomm dropped support for that chipset since ICS.. We did petitions, emailed qualcomm, spammed their social network pages for months, but they didn't change their decision..
Only hope for you is AOSP based ROMs, which might be slightly unstable but still good as daily drivers...
And, as for Broadcom responding to petition, Qualcomm /= Broadcom.

Well I don’t agree that we cannot make a change. If you read a book like The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference , you will come to see that even though Samsung spend around 4 billion $ for marketing , the final say is in the hand of the consumers . Currently if you look around the s4 forum, the note 3 forum, and other forums around of the web you will see that people are unsatisfied with what Samsung is doing, and they are advising people away from Samsung.
For one, I know that I can directly influence 50 of my friends and I made sure to contact each and every one of them about Samsung new policies and advised them against any future purchase of a Samsung device. I also contacted some blogs explaining the issues that we have with Samsung - I have yet to hear a word from them - so even though Samsung can pay its way around the web to silence some critiques , it cannot affect the social binding , and the negative social vibe generated around its products . So let’s wait and see if Samsung will stay arrogant and fall like blackberry, nokia , palm … and any other too big for consumer company did , or whether they are going to start making some changes .

I buy a samsung galaxy from the first that came out! always done with what I please! ROM metia you were pre-beta just to try!
with this, we put a barrier samsung and limits us to do what they want!
where it stayed that have Android to be free?
you say you buy a Nexus if I do not go through what we are subjected samsung .. do not you think you're thinking the wrong way? you are undergoing something you limited without any claim?
rings at David vs. Goliath, but at least you will know that there are a handful of unhappy with this new security policy, which on one hand is very good, but on the other, baaaaaaad!
we know that many end users do not even know it's a ROM, let alone answer if you have rooteado or not .. but we are the damned geeks what we like tinkering with what we buy ..
that's the point. perhaps not even make this request out of the desk, but at least we did not stay silent.
For one, the English version of the petition is rather unreadable due to poor punctuation and grammatical errors.
But the real problem is that KNOX itself isn't the problem but how Samsung has decided to inform the companies that handle the warranty repairs. Their line is simply "if there are any 0x1 flags then no warranty". The KNOX flag itself should only mean one thing: that the device was tampered with and its security compromised (important information for corporate IT departments) but it should have no bearing to hardware repairs as these are two separate things.

I think this "petition" threads should be closed and deleted on XDA ... it obviously never changed anything. I signed so many and it never helped (last one was "HTC One X S-Off petition"). I dont think Samsung nor HTC gives a **** about flasher and custom ROM users like us. They need us just for beta testing when they throw us some "leaks" (like a bone to a dog).

Hi guys,
i just wanted to know if there's a way to send a petition with a lot of signatures to samsung , against knox and warranty checker.
I see what you're trying to do but Samsung won't care
if Samsung cared about users then we wouldn't have those things in the first place(or at least they would have been implemented differently)

hate this kind of thing , i will just move to sell this device..android is open. They are making it close.. i will just buy a nexus device next time
and it gets worst with the region lock on unlocked devices
i mean why the F*** sell unlocked devices if they're still locked, samsung is little by little taking away user freedom
so im going Sony next year, i would now but money is short

Probably but it s more about creating brand awareness .Also pragmatically speaking a company which is snob vis a vis its consumers will fail . Reality check Blackberry , you can visit the crackberry forum to see the level of unhappiness consumers had to understand why this company which had only deaf ears to its consumers is going bankrupt .

[Q] Why every Snapdragon800 phone scores better than the N5?

The Mi3, Z1, G2, S4, Note 3, all pack the same S800 SoC of the N5 and all of them surpass it on benchmarks. The rest of the specs are mostly the same as well, like same screen resolution and RAM, the only exception being the Note with has 3GB but that one takes the cake and even wins against its own octacore version.
IMO it makes no sense, being made by google the N5 should be the best optimized of all 6 phone, and instead seems to be the least, any reasons?
Hi,
Mainly because a lack of Qualcomm libs optimizations: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2537299, flash this and you will have the same scores. Why they are not in the N5: explanation in the FAQ.
Plus maybe a different thermal management compared to the other devices...

One contributing factor is that the manufactures rig their phones to detect specific benchmark software and make the CPU/GPU run at full optimization. The nexus line of phones do not practice in such practice.http://www.anandtech.com/show/7384/state-of-cheating-in-android-benchmarks

Hi
Because a user can't have the right to know why the N5 scores lower in benches compared to other devices with the same hardware???
It's nonsense to me such a reply like yours.
Nobody is speaking about smoothness or not..., maybe YOU don't care about benches, but other users could care and I don't see a problem to that.
Always the same posts/replies like that again and again when there is the word "benchmark" is annoying. Well, it's the "good thought" to follow about benches...

I don't care about benchmarks too but regarding Samsung's latest devices the benchmarks have been (will be ) rigged. This contributes to the poor interest of benchmarks but we can't compare the Galaxy UI lags with the scores provided in the benchmarks.
If you don't care about benches, fine. But to come an crap all over those that find interest in them, that is troll like behavior.
If you do not subscribe or care, why the Frak did you open this thread an then spew nonsense into it on those participating?

The "negative " posts as they're being called are directly answering the title of the thread. Explaining why, in the posters opinion, those devices score better.
If answers that don't agree with your opinion upset anyone, don't ask the question to begin with.
So to summarize: why does the N5 score lower, when in real life application it obviously performs better? Cause benchmarks don't reflect real use, maybe they are biased...etc etc.
A relevant, opinion based answer.
Please don't call me a troll cause I have a reasonable opinion.
Calling people a troll btw, unless it is obvious they are just trying to cause trouble, is disrespectful and against xda rules. If you think they are trolling, report the post and let a moderator decide.

My friend.....what have you done your last few posts, except complain about other posts?
And again.....you're generalizing the term negative (and attaching the word troll to it) because you disagree with some people.
Who's trolling here really?
If I say that most the respected actual contributers on xda (aka devs ) would agree that benchmarks do not reflect real life experience .......therefore, some may say they're meaningless......that makes me a troll? Cause you disagree?
Now a large part of anything on xda is based off opinions.....and opinions that don't coincide with yours should not be labeled trolling.
So really, have a more open mind. Almost every thread on xda has its share of debate. People disagree, that's life. Stop antagonizing people by telling them to leave the thread or calling them a troll. Or else you could find the devs coming down on you....not the "trolls".
Sorry for the OT......I'm done.
