[Q] can somebody find me the correct things.

Hello, I'm kind of semi bricked and on hboot 1.23 so I can't flash any other firmware files or pretty much do anything via hboot but I can still run 3.12 firmware roms. Can anybody please find me some, any roms that run 3.12. It doesntt matter to me if they are outdated.

No, my hboot is useless so i cant flash any of the newest 3.24 firmware roms and above because i have hboot 1.23 and its terrible and half-done. Half of the functions are missing. When trying to flash a new firmware it gets to unzipping then just immediately reboots hboot.

can somebody please find me an ics dl link fir firmware 3.12 such at arhd 6.0.0? i've searched but all of thepages just have the most recent one with a higher firmware.

If you have s off, 1.23 h boot can also run GB ROM. Try COREDROID v4 if you want ICS, it's running great for me and it works on you current h boot, also their 3.3 GB works well too none of the ICS bugs. Also look in the stickies in development section the files you want are there.

[Q] Roms for Stock Firmware?

Hi
I'm very new to this custom rom thing, but not a complete noob...
I am curious if there are any custom roms that will work on stock firmware/kernel...?
I flashed Clockwork recovery and are using that at the moment
So far i have tried a lot of roms (mostly ICS ones) and the one ones working so far is one of the MIUI roms which i am using at the moment, but it laggs a fair bit.
I unlocked via HTC Dev tool and thus have a weird bootloader at the moment. Will flashing firmware remove this? will i be able to restore the original firmware from a backup i have already made?
Picture shows my current status.
Any suggestions for roms would be helpful.

You are still s-on you need s-off to get root access. Get that one first. Then energy sense 3.5 is great stable Rom wich has stock kernal.

+1 on the S-OFF. When you have it and rooted and custom recovery, make sure you do a Nandroid backup ASAP and keep it safe.
I liked CM7, then again I like AOSP ROMs in general. I was dual running CM7 (GB) and Virtuous Inquisition (ICS) on 1.23.0000 HBOOT for a while. Now gone over to 1.27.1100.

Sorry for noob question, but i've tried many things to get S-off, (incuding revolutionary.io) but nothing seems to work. Is there any way to get rid of the HTC unlocking thing and flash something else?

Sorry guys im such a noob! but i really want to install a custom rom on my sensation xe!

So can i install roms such as the CyanogenMod 10 Jellybean 4.1.2?
If the answer is yes what rom would you recommend me to install?

but i suggest you to install 4ext recovery.see here

Yes you should be able to. I suggest trying out several roms and see which suites you best. Personally I use viper 1.3.5. But I prefer sense roms. Try out several them choose what you like best. Don't forget to do a nandroid backup incase you get in a pinch you can easily restore your old rom. This is very important. Happy flashing

Wifi Error

Hello,
Ive got a problem with my wifi connection.
If I try to turn my wifi on, Im gettin an error msg.
My Sensation is S-ON but unlocked with HTCDev.
I installed Revoulotion ROM HD 6.8.
Btw, I had this problem already before with the stock and original rom.
Can u guys tell me pls, which and how many files u got in ur root folder wifi (data/misc/wifi)?
I just got 1 File named "softap.conf" in it.. Is that normal?
Ah, Bluetooth is also not working.
Bluetooth adress and Wifi MAC Adress are not available at settings/hardware informations.

I have 3 folders and 4 files, but cant help.

And tell me, can you turn on your FM radio? If not you have a hardware problem like many others. After long searching and reading I find this:

But what was the explination for that it's amazing. How this problem come to our phones..
When we make ICS upgrade, all drivers from OS are upgraded. That's good... usually. But not for all devices.
Some devices, don't get propers drivers, and when they ar tring to run wifi..bluetooth or fm radio ( what's running on b4329 chip ), don't run proper and final result it's a fired chipset
That was explination from gsm service
If they lie, i lie to. Don't blame me

Cannot test it atm, cause I got no headset :x
But Im wondering, why I just got 1 File in my data folder.
Maybe some files are missin, thats why I get this error.

EDIT: Tested radio, doesnt work -.-
Fuc* htc! I will never buy htc phones again, theyre just got bugs ( example the one x and one s)
I contacted the htc support 6 days ago, but they didnt give me any answer, lol.
What a fail manufacturer!

Have u tried reinstalling your rom. HTC not bad, mayb you just got the one with a small fault or maybe the installation didnt add everything.

flash the boot.img of the rom manually.maybe it works or
if you have 4ext recovery enable smartflash from it and install the rom again

I enabled smartflash before I flashed the rom.
I flashed the rom 2 or 3 times, but the wifi problem still appear.
I made just negative experiences with htc!

But how can I just flash boot.img separate?

Why dont you try another rom. I am using sense o maniac latest rom sense 4.1 and i know its working, everything is working. If yours still dont work then it is hardware related.

from android revo 6.8 zip extract the boot.img
then put it in the folder where you have adb and fastboot files
after that do the rest of steps in extra 1

Backup you previous rom, S-o-M automatically wipes your data at first install
My smartphone is S-ON.
I tried to type the command in adb.exe, but when I open adb, it closes automatically.

I know somewhere is a pc application called super rooting tool. I am not sure if it will be able to help s-off. I am at work now but have the software at home. Will check and let you now. I also have some nice instructions on how to s-off, thats how i got my phone s-off. I will put them in zip and post it here for you to read, maybe it will help.

[Q] CHANGE CUSTOM ROMS S-on

Sorry if this has been already answered but i recently got my dad's htc sensation..yesterday night i unlocked bootloader...and with S ON flashed HD REVOLUTION 7.3 Rom
but i have doubts
1) can i use same method to install other roms like VIPER ?
2) Do i need to S off or i can continue with S on
3) which rom is best for multimedia like photos and music ?
4) How can i install JB ROM..do i follow same method as i did with HD revolution ??

Yes. You can flash any ROM based on same firmware without being S-Off. You can flash ViperS JB Rom with the same method. Just enable smartflash in the 4EXT recovery and if get stuck in bootloop. Flash boot.img via bootloader. Happy flashing

If you're on 3.32 or 3.33 firmware then you can flash ViperS JB ROM. ViperS 3.1.2 does have some kickass music options and tweaks. I don't know which one is best but ViperS never disappointed me.

Just enable smartflash in 4EXT and follow the earlier method.

Just download the ROM zip and put in your SD card. Boot to recovery and enable smartflash. Wipe data and all partitions except Sd card and flash the zip from recovery. If you get stuck in bootloop then just extract the boot.img from the ROM zip and flash via fastboot. And before doing everything just make a nandroid backup.

I am currently downloading ViperS 3.1.2 but no where in its forum have they mentioned about its firmware...!!
So how do i know that which ROMs i can flash on my sensation with S-ON having firmware 3.2 or 3.3 ?

it doesn't matter if you are on S-ON or S-OFF
you can flash any ics or jb rom with 3.32 and 3.33 firmware version

which rom is easy on battery ?
Because HTC had very bad battery backup..HD REVOLUTION is good on battery !!

it is always depending from your personal usage and what settings are you planing to do(min/max cpufreq,gpu overclock,undervoltage etc)
you have to see it by yourself and judge accordingly

do i need to download Kernel changer from ViperS rom thread ??
i have sebestian FM kernel !!
also i just use my sensation for calling and music...so i use it in min mode !!

viperS rom and every rom has kernel including in it
so when you flash the rom the kernel will be changed too
by the way specifically in viperS 3.1.2 rom only one kernel is compatible and it is the one including in the rom
no other kernel works with this rom

there is one under development by venom team
actually it is already ported to our device but there are a few bugs to get fixed

I dont have ext4 but i've twrp for recovery. initially i'd 4ext but now its not working after twrp its saying for paying and trial is expired.
can i flash viperS with twrp recovery?
