We used to have build.prop threads like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1512368&page=3 & this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342638&page=3.
Obviously the OS has evolved since our GB days so in specific to JB 4.1.2 leak 1 it'll be great if you guys can chip in with your tried & tested build.prop tweaks & make this as a refreshed compilation thread for the benefit of all users. Cheers~RAD7
Added this in Q&A section as it may entail a lot of Q&A's, MOD's please move to General if required
I have used the fwd.max_users= mod on my ATRIX running 4.2.1 to enable multi users
*edit fw.max_users=[insert number >1 here]

Thanks for the share Zach, it's a start!
In order to switch users you have to turn the lock screen to landscape mode

It'd be great if you guys can share values tweaked on A2 stock JB 4.1.2 leak 1 using apps like ROM Toolbox Pro (Kernel tweaks - Sysctl tweaks) or tweaks for the stock 5 Governor's (values) or by using Android Tuner app as well (Entropy control) etc etc.

I want to build a Tom from AOSP, am a beginner and this will be my first. I see many current Roms have tweaks already setup like ram optimization and speed enhancements. Is there a central place to find these or are they all developed individually? I would like to add some of those to speed up my ROM. Thanks for the help experts!!

Hey Guys,
I found out about Zipaligning apps make them faster since Android align the apks in some way to run them smoother and use a bit of less RAM, so the question is since im running stock ROM do i have to zipalign my currently installed apps? I know if the developers made it in Eclipse from September 2012 and forward it should be zipaligned but my ROM isn't.
So what you guys say?
Trying to learn as much as i can about Android.
bump
I think you should go a bit slower, zipalign it's advanced stuff...
start with basic stuff, flash a custom Rom and take it from there...
Well i meant since i have a stock rom, do i have to zipalign my apps to enjoy that feature?

you can try dsixda kitchen on development thread, I know it has an option to zipalign

Thanks OP for your interesting question. I did some reading and searching and used Android Tuner Free from the Play Store to zipalign. My ROM is stock 4.1.2 leak 2 and smooth running just got smoother.
Welcome to stock kanged thread!! I'm in no way a developer nor anything related. I just used some handy tools found on XDA to bake myself a ROM using the ham burger helper via a kitchen! Please bare with me as I'm interested in learning about android devings but it will take time.
If you are looking for something heavy with mods and themes this isn't for you. This is just for the folks looking for a stock like based experienced with a minor changes.

Thread cleaned
OK, let's start this again
I will list a few of the high points mentioned in the cleaned posts as there were some good points made
Everyone has to start somewhere. My first ROM was just an ADB /pull of my existing setup and thrown into a flashable.
From there this awesome community taught me how to do so much more.
If you want to stick in this thread and help with growth and contribute to the community please do and thank you
If you want to trash someone for trying and tear down the attempt please ignore this thread and move on

My dream ROM would have the following:
(I have an s4)
MIUI look
All the settings found in PACman
Multi-Window
TV remote support
Halo (from PA)
Orange theme
Ubuntu for phones launcher
interactive lock screen
4.2 pulldown along with Ubuntu interactive touch top bar.
Keep in mind that this is general and does not have to be Android specific. What is your dream rom?
