[Q] Net10 MMS Settings - HTC Inspire 4G

Hello everyone! I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place, this is my first time posting on the forums for my own thread. currently, I'm running Randomblame's amazing Jelly Bean ROM for my Inspire 4G. I recently got it on Net10, and have updated my APN settings alreayldy to what I was given by them. I'm on AT&T and I have internet working, texting, calling, and can send things. However, everytime anyone sends me anything via MMS, I don't get it. It just says message not downloaded, or says nothing at all. When I tap on the notification, it takes me to send a brand new text. I don't know what is wrong, and I've tried a bunch of things.
Can anyone please help me? maybe someone has Net10 and working MMS data and can please post their APN settings.
Thank you everyone for reading. sorry if this is in the wrong section, if it is, could a mod please move it?
Thank you again everyone! ^_^

Root Call Blocker - CDMA testers needed!

Hello guys, im the developer of Root Call Blocker, an advanced call and SMS blocking app for rooted phones.
The app is currently in open beta here at XDA:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1051274
I dont have a Droid X or any CDMA phone and need testers! Please let me know if you are interested in some hard-core testing and logging...
Downloaded and will test on my Droid x ...
Thank you! And dont forget to update in the next few hours, we are pushing a bugfix later today...
i've been using it for at least week, and downloaded 2 or 3 updates. as far as i know, it works fine. i tested it on calls, but haven't on sms. i like that the phone doesn't ring at all.
sent you an email suggesting the log be optional.
sorry, i'm using droid x on liberty gingerbread v0.5.
Yes, i got the email, i will be adding logging options soon! Any more suggestions?
I have been using it and it seems to block calls but not text messages.
I tried it as just block SMS only & I also tried it to do SMS & block calls
But it never did the SMS!

I'd love too test, I been looking for a better call blocker, although it force closes on me everytime I try to install it.
Do you have root? If not, it will do that...
been rooted since day 1
You will have to send us some logs... fcs are not exactly a common issue.
Hello guys, please get me some feedbeack on the latest build. Are sms blocking issues using "block and save" still present?
Weve been trying hard to iron things out, and have two new reject methods planned especially for cdma phones, so i will need some of your help to get them working properly! PM me if youre interested.
Updated, let me know if your issues are fixed please!
I'll give it a go. I've been looking for a good application like for a while
Hi, could you guys please give the following version (preview of tonights release) to see if SMS blocking is fixed.
EDIT: ATTACHMENT REMOVED
The latest update is very stable!
D/ling now I have been looking for a good callblocker. Will let you know my thoughts in a day or two.

Hi, that version has been deprecated. You had better get the latest market version as it has been updated considerably!
I just tested this with a buddy of mine. My voicemail is still picking up even though I set the block method to constantly ring.
Could this be a problem because i use google voice?

HTC inspire 4g CM7 nightly can't send photos via MMS

if someone could help me with this problem . when I try to send a photo on text message or MMS. it just does nothing will not send . please help thanks K4GET

Are you on wifi? If you are, you'll need tobleave the data enabled in the background so it can switch over and send the MMS. Also, you may need to fix your APN settings. There is a thread on theater in the dev section.
thank you . Yes I tried wifi and data wifi I get an era message . Data no era just does nothing.
So that fixed you up?
Thank you for your reply . To answer your question . No it did not work. I am not sure how to set up the APN you referred to. I guess I am a nubb.
Thanks again Ron K4GET
p.s. by the way the K4GET is my ham radio call sign

None of the developer's are able to help me out on this ?
does it give you any error messages? you might have a setting enabled saying "prefer voice only on wi-fi"
Hi Fongz27,
the error i get is "You must be connected to a Wi-Fi to start a Video or Voice Chat" i checked all the settings it doesnt say the option you gave me anywhere.
Thanks a lot for your reply.
REgds,
Rankit
I believe this is a limit in place by Google developers.
Here is my reasoning:
1. If you can use google chat voice feature, you will also be able to use Google Voice over Data, which means you by-pass "minutes allowed" by your mobile carrier (say you have 450 minutes airtime only....).
So if you think about it, and pair Unlimited Data Plan + Google Voice over GTalk = UNLIMITED CALL TIME!
Carriers would not be happy about this and would not carry android OS capable phones. This is the reason why I believe they only allow GTalk voice over WIFI.
=) Hope that makes sense to you.

I have unlimited Data on my phone but tried all possible things, but not able to do the video and voice chat.
Its working with the older gingerbread version, but i upgraded to the rootzwiki ICS leaked and they provide Talk 4.0.3 and it doesnt work with this version.
its really strange that none of our developer's have answer to this. Appreciate any reply.

Here you go. I had to zip it up since xda won't let me upload a*.db file. So just unzip it, transfer the file (gservices.db) to you phone, and use root explorer to move it to /data/data/com.google.android.gsf/databases/ and set the permissions to rw-rw----. Hope it works for you!

[Q] JB mms app issue

Hey everyone,
I was wondering if you all could help me out. I have installed the 7/22 build of jellybean and I send quite a bit of text messages. The problem is, I send a lot at one time and in JB, it stops me after I've send about 4 messages within a minute or two to the same person, asking me to allow this to happen. If I don't say allow, the text message will not send. By text message, I do mean sms to be specific. I searched through settings and found nothing to stop this message from popping up. I love the stock messaging app and I don't want to have to give it up unless there is no way around this. Does this happen to you and if so does anyone know a way around it? Thanks
hey i am running the 7-22 and gapps 7-19
i just sent 5-6 texts to my fb status update system and they all went through with no errors and they were sms messages
also i am having no problems receiving mms

I'm currently trying to recreate the issue. It's happened several times with normal text messaging to my girlfriend. It basically tells me that I've sent a lot of sms messages in a short period of time. A prompt comes up telling me that after I hit send. In order for the message to send I have to say "allow" in the prompt. The other option is, of course, "deny". This is an android OS prompt, not a superuser prompt. I can't seem to recreate it at the moment with google voice as my contact, but I'm sure it will happen again tomorrow when I'm texting my girlfriend and I will screen capture it, unless anyone knows what this is and how to disable it of course.
Is this the SMS to mms conversion count?

After some very specific searching, I found one topic in the GNex forums about the issue. It seems to be security for SMS bombing apps. Kind of a bummer for me. I hope this is disabled in the future or toggled somewhere. http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1742226.html

Oh, weird, I've never gotten that or even heard that function existed. I bet someone could pretty easily hack the messaging app to remove that limitation. It seems like a valid security feature though to prevent any app from mass texting. Maybe you should just write longer messages, haha.

Yeah, I am having the same problem on my HTC Inspire 4G running unofficial CM10 called JellyTime by randomblame ported to my phone. The easiest way to avoid this would be to get a second texting app and bounce back and fourth between the 2 apps. I was running Go SMS Pro and got the same prompt. So that's the best way I can think of to avoid the prompt for the time being.
Ever get one of those "You just won a $1,000 shopping spree at Best Buy" messages?
That's what this is supposed to prevent from happening to you, so your phone doesn't text random people who aren't even in your contact list.
I would say... put up with it. Eventually the mass SMS spammers will get the hint and they'll stop, at which point someone at Google will lift the limit, unless an app dev fixes the apk itself, at which point you'll have to manually monitor outgoing messages.
Edit: I wonder if someone has tried taking the messaging apk from gapps 4/29 and put it in the gapps 7/26 package? Would be a sensible attempt at avoiding the security block, but not sure if it would negate the security feature itself...
Actually, there is an app for rooted users that I found while using the search feature, called BAMF SMS fix. Check it out. Unfortunately I no longer have the link to the file, but I still have the file itself. PM me if you need the file. It is a flashable .zip

Urgent! Dreadfully need help! Lost Android Text Messages!

Hi all, I have been using Snapchat these days to chat with my friends so seems haven't been Real texting for long time. This morning I got a message from a VIP customer of his schedule to London next week. While I was about to dab on showing the text but what the hell!!! The phone crashed and rebooted automatically, not only my client's SMS but all messages stored on my phone vanished. No problem I can ask my client to send again his plan but what about the rest messages?! My brain stopped working at that exact moment.
I have been searching so hard for a solution to quick regain lost message from Android phone. Yes, forget to tell you that I am using Samsung GT-s5300. After reading and googling for ages, I find that "Myjad Android SMS Recovery" might be the most suitable tool for me at the moment.
So now I need advice! Whoever has utilized this program before is very much welcomed to post a comment coz your opinion would be a HUGE contribution to me. Urgently need reply. Thank you millions in advanced.
