Facebook (build 140579) - HTC Sensation

As in the title Facebook (build 140579) update is a never ending process. Its been more than one hour that its updating. This update is not via market. I dunno why Facebook is pushing an update like this.
I read through a couple of posts and found that the update can be stopped with the download manager but it pops up again and again.
In the OneX forum, I read that turning on WiFi resolves the problem and download finishes and updates the Facebook app.
But the problem is that the WiFi on my sensation doesn't work. So the update is stuck. I even tried internet pass-through connecting internet via PC but still stuck.
Even read that people have been stuck for hours with this.
Anyone with a solution for this? Please help.

You could have stopped it from the download manager by deleting the update file. I did that. Since then I haven't received that annoying update.

Connect to a working Wifi and it goes off in a second.

But my WiFi doesn't work. I have WiFi error on my phone. But yesterday I got an update for Facebook with the spam reporting option. I think it's the same update which was annoying but this time I got it via market.
Thanks anyways

yes it is a common problem with some ROMs. you'll have to install Google maps directly using an apk file. search online or in this forum, you'll find Google map 4. 1. 1 apk

[Q] Market Apps wont download

I am using Coredroid V7.
When I am trying to download apps from the official app market, it doesnt download.
it says downloading then just clears itself out. i try it again it doesnt download it.
i even did a full wipe(1.5 and coredroid wipe) then freshly flashed the rom again, then it doesnt download again.
because of that i even had to RE-root my phone..well that didnt fix it as well..
it worked completely fine in 6.7. can anyone help me whats wrong with it? i even resetted my phone..nothing worked...
im trying to download miren browser..
Wow hmm I had this before. Are you setting up any accounts after flashing? What I mean is once you flash and get to set up tutorial, when it asks about setting up accounts,so u log into Facebook or Google right then?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Well, after the extensive wiping/rerooting/reflashing/reseting you've done, to no avail, maybe it's just the market acting up.
I've run into similar download issues both stock/unrooted and custom/rooted, from time to time. It's usually that stuck progress bar that never seems to move and never finishes, almost always when trying download something that's set to update automatically.
I've also run into specific downloads not kicking in, as you're describing. It usually clears itself up if I just wait a little while and try again.
Not a very specific solution to your problem, but all I'm saying is that after all you've done to "reset," that should have taken care of the problem, if the problem was indeed on your end.
FWIW.

Do a Search for Full Wipe, there is something you can run that just cleans yer device completely. I would try that. Else; I am unsure.
Settings->Applications->Market-> Clear Data/Cache ???
Worked for me =(
It's just a sporadic issue with the Android Market. I have encountered this very same problem and thought it was the rom but never did any reflashing or wiping data/cache but then I would go try to download an app and it would successfully download and install. I think it's an issue with the android market.

Just fyi, I flashed v7 tonight, and installed several apps after the fact, so I can at least assure you that it's but the ROM.

Solution kinda
I was having the same problem tried all sorts of wipes to no avail ended up just downloading and installing new cooler looking app market thinking it would solve my problem but it didn't just gave me an error message to go along with it.....so the solution u say......annoyingly simple really reboot into recovery after installing new market clear cache and dalvik cache too just to be sure.
confirmed working as of 5 minutes ago.
with new market
on virtuous unity rom (but I don't see a reason it shouldn't work on most roms with weird market bug)

I had this error before but the thing I did to fix it isint working now. I had to clear the proxy IP address before ans that worked but I can't find how to do it since the interface of ics is different so the instructions on how to do it don't work. Pls help. I havent been able to download or update any apps for 2 days now. Usually this problem passes in 24 hours.

How do you go about deleting your account? Do you completely delete the gmail account or just the play application?

By deleting your account from the play store, you have to go to menu-settings-apps-all apps-play store
There just clear the data and reboot the phone. When the phone comes back up, sign into your account again.
On a separate note, please take a look at "your devices" in the google play and music. If you have too many devices in each app, the app will prevent any syncing and hang. This happens when you flash multiple roms and the build.props make the phone different in some way, and in turn, make you have different devices listed in your settings. Just a fyi.
Okay that worked I believe. Thanks so much.
if rooted & getting (491) error nothing will install
Press vol(down)+Pwr+home buttons same time time and rooted menu 1st option will be reboot. This will fix error (491) and now you will be able to install without ERROR 491. Worked for me Samsung Galaxy S3.

Hi, does not work, because the problem is repeated after a few days. And I used this procedure for a while. I mention I have Note 2 (rooted) and the problem persists. And believe me it's annoying to delete your account every time the error occurred, then restart the phone, to sync your account again and so on. There must be another solution that will not put you to restart the phone every time.
error 491 cant download
I just had this issue. What i did to correct it was go into titanium backup found my original download app and restored it from a previous backup. Work perfect and no more error 491 when trying to download.
no luck
I've taken each step listed in this thread to no avail.. (I'm on a galaxy s3 rooted) at a loss still having this error code :crying:
fixed?

[Q] play store app update updates one or two then stops

Hello guys,
Very frequently when there are several apps to update on play store, nothing happens and I have to stop then start the update all process again. Then it updates two or so, then nothing again and I have to stop and press update all again...
Anyone know what's going on?
Im on Stock, rooted 4.4.2.
Cheers
Mark.
I too have this problem, although it happened before upgrading to 4.2.2 as well.
Reboot your device, fixed for me.

I will try next time I'm updating... but my phone has been rebooted a few times since 4.4.2, so it's not like it has just been set up. Also the issue was also there with 4.4.1 and maybe even 4.4.0
cheers
Mark.

Hi
I don't see a way to "unlink" my google account. I have 3 on my phone, and the only options in phone settings is to deselect sync (tick box) for specific items or to remove the account.
what do you mean?
tx
I have had the issue where I hit update all and then I don't hit the accept new changes that the application is requesting. It doesn't seem to show unless you stop and restart the download.

[HELP] Error RPC:S-3

Hi there;
I reinstall the stock rom on my nexus 5. At the beginning all my apps get well installed. But I see that Zooper Pro Widget didn't install, I try to install it manually but I receive the message error RPC:S-3...
I found a thread on XDA a tried everything were mentioned there but nothing works .
The problem seems to be with Zooper cause I can install other application without problems.
Any idea ?
Did you install the latest stock image, 4.4.3? Maybe zopper isn't compatible with it yet

Got the same issue at the moment with an app (Scrum Poker).
I tried clearing stuff (google play and google play services - didn't touch the play framework data yet) but to no avail. The app is constantly nagging me about updates and I will probably end up uninstalling it.

I hope you will have the same luck I have. I had to wait just one day and everyhing seems to be good now.
It seems that's a a random issue. I was updating my apps when I only had this error with CM Browser.
This is happening to me too, I thought that it's because I rooted with towelroot.
I had to download the apk using apk downloader chrome extension and sideload it.
I could not update using play store. I uninstalled it tried to install it fresh but I still got the error. After I sideloaded it, I uninstalled it and tried to install it directly from Google play and it worked!
Edit: the apps that I could not update were gtasks and badland.

Did the same, and now I don't get the nag about the update. Guess there was something odd, since I had to "force" to download the latest, so maybe the error is actually on google's side and I have been resetting and reconfiguring stuff like a mad man for nothing
Exactly.I cleared data for Google play and Google play services, uninstalled updates for Google play, I even cleared data for Google framework but nothing helped. It could be a Google issue.

More tests:
I can install a new app or uninstall an app and then reinstall it without a problem.
It seems that only apps that have updates generate this error.
*EDIT* There's a new update for rayman fiesta run and the update worked so the problem could be fixed already
*EDIT2* I uninstalled Badland and it still gives the error when I try to install it fresh.

I'm assuming this is perhaps an issue on Google's end somehow. I've never had this error, as I've always been stock/rooted. However, I am now getting this error when trying to update the ESPN Sportscenter app. I figure I'll just wait to see if it resolves itself.

Yesterday I was finally able to install CM Browser. I didn't do anything to fix it.
In my case force downloading the latest version from play store (using the chrome extension on my desktop) did the trick. It seems that the version that google was serving me by default was 2.3 though it was notifying me that it had an update ready.
Guess it's some sort of caching issue, but for me it was annoying (was so close to reset the phone).

Just an update from my post above. I was getting the error all day yesterday trying to update the Sportscenter app. This morning, it updated fine. I didn't do anything at all. I guess a little patience does go a long way.
