[Q] - native client doesnt sync - [ROM][02-03-2013] ZTE V970 (MT6577) JB - ZTE Grand X V970

Hi,
I got a problem/question with syncing my email account via built in email app. I tried to sync it with my Exchange account - waiting for sync - and nothing. When I tried to setup my gmail account into native client - it always ends with couldnt open connection to server.
I have already searched original rom thread and havent found solution. There were some issues with the native client, but should be fixed in last updates.
I am using JB v1.1, Bruno rom, ZTE V970
Thanks in advance for any reaction.
Br,
M.

Internal memory repartition may be involved.

I do not use the stock email app very often and have not met any problem, but according to some posts of the thread, the stock email app may not work if the internal SD was disabled.

So here is a modified ebr1 file the makes partion changes into /data 2G and /sdcard 0.5G,just flash it with flashtool then format /data and /sdcard in recovery.
You may lost all the data,so backup is needed.
Try if you would like to.

Thanks for your answer- At the end of the day I went for Enhanced email app..

Unable to sync with exchange

Hi all,
I tried almost everything but I cannot connect to my exchange account. With our IT we enabled OMA, OWA also, I installed the self-signed certificate on my Touch Pro, tried with and without SSL, erased the account on the device to create it from scratch, read all the posts, googled and tried what suggested but still get connecting for a while and then Error Synchronizing (built-in e-mail client), when I switch to active sync and view status I get "Synchronization couldn't be completed. Try again later" and Support code says 0x80072F17 (certificate related). WHen I set up my iPhone with the account details I sync without problem all the mails with subfolders...Any help?

Thank you for the quick rsponse, I hope you can help me. The ROM version is 1.90.401.1 WWE, Radio 1.02.25.19, as for album I have the version that was originally distributed (I could find any version number), BTW it is very slow on loading.

Make sure you have the correct root certificate as well. Im using a free ssl cert from Startcom and I have to have both the Intermediate and Root certs installed for it to work because by default the root cert isnt there. You can check this out by Start > Settings > Certificates.
Ren13B I have just intermediate cert installed, the one that OWA is using, self-signed. Can you tell me more about how to make it appear in ROOT tab?

The fastest way I've seen to do this is search for a Microsoft tool called "SSLChainSaver". There are instructions on the site for using it, but the short form is:
Code:
sslchainsaver.exe [I]<exchange hostname>[/I]
This creates a directory with the certificates, and also creates two XML files containing the full certificate chain, one for Windows Mobile 5, and one for WinMo 6.
Find the XML file you want (<exch. server>.wm6.xml, probably), copy to _setup.xml, and make it a .CAB file:
Code:
copy exchserver.wm6.xml _setup.xml
makecab certs.cab _setup.xml
This creates a .CAB file you can download directly to your phone containing all the necessary SSL certificates for your server.
Hope that helps...
It seems there is something wrong with our OWA certificate, I found out that issuer has to be same as subject which is not, so even the tool work smoothly it could not get the root cert...Strange that iPhone has no problem with that but WM6 does:-(

[Completed] Converting HTC Manager Contacts

Hello guys,
I have installed a custom ROM on my HTC ONE V phone after doing a backup with the HTC Sync Manager. I updated the firmware (Hellboy) and then played with a bunch of different ROMs. I think I did a backup with clockwork at some point on it but I don't think I can find it between the other folders on the phone. Main problem as soon as I installed the custom ROM I was unable to connect it with the computer anymore. First of all it displayed only the USB Mass USB connection, tried a lot of times with various different ROMs to enable via terminal mtp or ptp with no luck (computer sees it only as an external drive and HTC manager doesn't see it at all).
So I would try to revert it back to the custom ROM which looks to be even more of a hassle then installing a custom rom. Anyway, I have a new phone that I'm using now and only care for my backup contacts. I see them on my computer on AppData but they are encrypted and have the XML extension. Is there any software that can import that data into content that can be used?
Thanks!
Hi,
First, are you using Sense based roms? Only Sense based will have HTC sync. Without Sense and HTC sync, the computer just sees a random device. Trying a Sense rom, or flash back to stock will likely let you see your contacts again.
So, for more insight and help with your contacts, you will need to ask about it in your device section, here...
> HTC One V > One V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!
I just wanted to say that you're a life saver mate. Thank you so much! You took 5 mins of your time to post a reply on my thread and I saved hours or maybe more of research for this stupid issue. As soon as I searched a sense enabled ROM and install it and as soon as I realized that I can access my device from my computer using fastboot instead of adb when the device is in bootloading mode (I was trying to ping my device with "adb devices") everything went smoothly. I flashed a proper boot, a new sense-enabled ROM, I synced with my HTC Sync Manager, exported my contact list (for some reason it didn't automatically - basically never synced the contact lists), imported the contact list into my google account and bam! It appeared on my new telephone like some magic.
Wow, well done my friend!
Thank you. Thread closed.

Encryption not Recognized by device while setting work exchange accounts on lollipop

there seems to be some bug in lollipop with regards to setting up exchange accounts which require device to be encrypted. The device encryption is not recognized by the device administrators because of which the exchange account cannot be set. See link below:-
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=79342
Does anyone have any idea how to fix it? I believe any user who is using the device for work mails should avoid updating it to lollipop...
fixed my issue

[Q] Can't Add Cyanogen Account

I just installed the official CM12 for the phone but when I try to login to Cyanogen account it says the following:
"Login failed
Invalid email or password".
I made a reset to my password using my PC, and then tried again to add the account - the same message.
I tried to log in to the account on my PC- and I made it!
What could be the problem?
Please any help would be appreciated.
I had to do the same thing. I just created a new account with the same credentials. Seems to have worked Ok and not a whole lot has changed.
i have the same problem..
did u find the answer or did u do created new acc aswell?
Cyanogen accounts created in 11 won't work with 12 and up. Even Cyanogen has stated it, that you have to create a new one. I do not know the reason why, but it is needed.
Tnx
