Samsung Galaxy S IV - General Questions and Answers

Samsung will be announcing their upcoming flagship Samsung Galaxy S IV smartphone tomorrow in New York City.
We've heard rumors and details for weeks and weeks, but nothing is official until Samsung shows us themselves.
As reported, the device should rock a 4.99-inch 1920 x 1080p full HD display, and either their quad-core Exynos 5250 processor or the octa-core core we've been waiting for.
So far, Samsung is hyping up its next handset as the “ biggest thing since color TV ”
what do u think?

If your penis is so small you need to compare a phone with your tablet.
Yes, then you got beaten.
I for my part never understood why anyone would need that power in a phone.
Okay maybe some people like to charge their device twice a day...
I laugh at everyone that say they are going to wait for the "ultimate phone".
You might as well just never buy a phone then, since not even 6-months later something WILL be better then what you have.
The only thing lately that hasn't been changing so fast in the tech world has been TV and Desktop computer parts.
My SLI GTX 580 setup (which is coming close to 3 years old), is just as fast as a single GTX680, if not faster in some cases!

The note 2 already surpassed it in performance. I have both and I love my TF, but the performance of the note 2 is considerably better.
Beyond that the DNA(though I'll never buy HTC again) surpasses even the note 2 in performance.
I-Dig!
WOW... You said it all! Good one...
You will most likley pay 600.00 and a 40 year service contract wid the carrier.
Lets see, hmm, how long is my service contract with the TF700t... Oh yeah I don't have one.....

The Galaxy S4's specs are just speculation, but I am sure most of us here know that there are many devices that are CURRENTLY available on the market that can easily surpass the tf700 just by comparing specs. Tegra 3 was already outdated the moment the Galaxy S3 was announced. Just to name a few, any devices with Snapdragon S4 Pro and Exynos 5 (LG Optimus G, LG Nexus 4, HTC Droid DNA, J Butterfly, Galaxy S3, Note 2, Note 10.1, etc...) will surely give you better performance (both overall and graphical performance) than any Tegra 3-powered devices (including the tf700).

all the samsung/exynos devices you mention there are Exynos 4 devices and those have the Cortex a9 cores as Tegra3, i guess gpu wise the Exynos 4 mali 400 could be faster
And if we speak now of a new 8 core exynos then i guess we also should speak that we have a 5 core A9 in our system!! the Exynos 4 of the Galaxy S3 is only a 4 core...
But thats all crap and marketing the Exynos 5 Octa is just a quad core you system/os will never see 8 cores only 4 just as we see only 4 and not 5

I remember people saying that about 1ghz phones. Then dual core phones. In 6 to 12 months quad core phones will be the norm and someone will undoubtedly say "There is no need for 8 cores in a mobile device".

it will be a while before we get real 8 cores in mobile devices..
even the next arm chip: http://www.arm.com/products/processors/cortex-a50/cortex-a57-processor.php
is designed to be a quadcore setup in single processor (they do support clusters of those again but i guess thats for servers)
And we only get now the A15, Nexus 10" being the first, no phones yet.

Oops, I was thinking about the Nexus 10 when I was talking about Exynos 5. You're right, it should be Exynos 4 instead. Nevertheless, it does not change my point about Tegra 3's being outdated. For instance, when it comes to memory performance, Tegra 3 only has single channel memory controller as opposed to dual channels found in almost anything else (from Apple, Qualcomm to Samsung), a fact that is readily taken advantage of by Amazon when they introduced the Kindle Fire HD (TI OMAP 4 vs Tegra 3). Overall, if you follow articles on Anandtech about mobile SoCs, Exynos 4 gives you much better performance and more power efficient.

I'm a woman.
There are two types of electronic devices, experimental and obsolete. If you always waited for the next great thing you'd still be using a rotary dial phone.

haha true. Quad core exynos is very snappy. Games are smooth and had the better effects. ie. blurr effect on Nova 3, Modern combat 4. I havent felt the need to do anything to it besides root. My s3 now seems so outdated lol.

Eh? The S3 has an Exynos Quad Core.... The one in the Note2 is 0.2ghz faster, but that's it.
Unless you're unlucky enough to be American, of course.

Unless you start looking at the screen resolution, of course. Any Gamer knows that a lower resolution uses less resources, and thus gives more frames per second.

The best dual sim android phone

Please recommend some the best and easy to root
I have B92M, but dissapointed with only 2000 mAh battery, with often 3G WCDMA internet surfing battery is over for about 5 hours.....crazy......
My liking is :
Xiaomi MI-2
* Qualcomm 8064 CPU (Quadcore)
* 2GB RAM
* 16GB ROM
* Graphics processing comparable to the XBOX 360 (Adreno 320 graphics chip)
* 3000 mAh battery upgrades
* 4.3 inches high PPI retina screen, 1280x720 resolution. The touch screen to do (the OGS / TOL), the single glass fit technology, Ultra Narrow design to protect the glass.
, but unfortunately it is single sim....:crying:
Which dual sim smartphone is really close to him?
Thanks

Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One, iphone5 these phones are great, I also liked, but a little expensive. Certainly can not take the $ 700 iphone5 and $ 169.99 THL W100 comparison, even if the configuration is relatively high THL W100, At least one premise, such as how many price, what kind of configuration and so on.

Hey guys, here we go
http://www.phonearena.com/news/Rumo...processor-under-the-hood_id43177#article_item
I think this was expected. Why? Because the model number is inferior to the original S4.

Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 vs LG G Pad 8.0 LTE

Hello XDA Devs,
I am considering next to buy a tablet..
I am restricted to buy either the Tab 3 8.0 (Samsung) or the LG G Pad 8.0 LTE...
I've compared the two CPU's (Snapdragon vs Exynos) and I see Exynos is better but what about with the ram and the overall performance?
What about the software each of the device offers?
If you any of you had these devices I would be more than thankful if you could address some of the issues you had or tell me anything about the device..
I hope I didn't post this on a wrong forum
Thanks everyone
My personal advice regarding the 'Galaxy tab x' series when it comes to performance is very simple: DON'T.
The Tab 3 is a low-end device
Exynos is NEVER better. Always get a Snapdragon, if you can. The CPU in the Tab 3 is a Dualcore, as opposed to LG's Quadcore.
(I'm normally very positive about Samsung, but the Tab x series is absolute rubbish. The Tab Pro and Tab S series are the High-end line ups.)
I don't have personal experience with the Pad 8.0, only the 8.3. Just felt I should warn you about the Tab 3. I do own that one, it's slow as hell.
