Hello XDA community ,
Long time ago , to be exactly in the year 2000 a south korean company named "Gravity"
(yes they made the famous MMORPG Ragnarok Online) made an awesome RPG with a dark and gloomy story called "Arcturus" which never found its
way to any western countries PC (released in Korea(published by wizardsoft) and Japan(published by falcom) only).
The first look remembers the viewer alot into Ragnarok Online which uses the same graphics engine!
and thats the reason i opened this thread.
If you are well informed about Ragnarok, you know about the latest ongoing releases of Ragnarok
for Android.
one of this releases is available since february of this year 2013 in the google play store.
AndRO
>>>Google play <<<
this is a well made emulator application by Chris Edisson which uses the files you need to run the game on the PC.
its really easy to use coz you dont need any background knowledge in let it run and you can enjoy your same characters
on the same servers as you would do on PC.
this is the reason why i know its possible to use this as a basic tool to make Arcturus run on Android devices.
The developer of this Ragnarok Emulator already enabled self made joystick controls and alot of other things which makes
the mobile usage of this MMORPG enjoyable.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
anyone who is interested can try the Arcturus demo for PC (its the only english demo Gravity released)
>>DOWNLOAD english demo from Fileplanet<<
(around 131MB)
another thing is the translation, you can check my youtube video about an translation
into german language i started some time ago.
sadly my files are gone coz of broken HDD T_T
but i think with help of community this is just a short thing to translate this into english.
for anyone who is willing to help can download the script files of the full game.
(everything in arcturus's data files structure works same as ragnarok , so if you modified
some files you just need to put them in the "/data" folder of the Arcturus directory.)
ragnarok gamers know what iam talking about
(Arcturus uses ".PAK" packing method instead of Ragnarok's ".GRF" but it can be unpacked by "Grfwiz" which
you also can download here)
(using "GrfWiz" you should run your windows PC in korean mode to get the korean filenames instead of for example : ?=*&%$§"$%.jpg )
>>>DOWNLOAD GrfWiz from depositfiles<<<
(around 30kb)
>>>DOWNLOAD full Script files from depositfiles<<<
(around 1,7MB)
also there was an translation project at emuxhaven(Revolve now) which sadly never finished its work
additional with some knowledge this script files can be changed the way in creating a completely new story , coz this
gives instructions how the acting characters move and to where, which emoticons they use and how
the cameras fix which YX coordinates on the map.
also you could "for example" make an Ragnarok RPG with character sprites from the Ragnarok client
Arcturus is a really great Game and i hope there is someone out there who could help to make it real !^-^
if there is anyithing moving abt this i can serve the data of the full version to DEV's.
here some pic'S and videos :
opening + lil bit gameplay of the beginning
some scenes with ending song

This does look cool, and after looking at the videos/pictures I remember wanting to play it way back when. Given that, I would love to help out but alas I'm not good at this sort of stuff. Though if someone does get going on this I'll be glad to give help in the form of testing.
this for online or offline sir ?

its offline RPG which have battle system similar to "Grandia" (PSX owners maybe remember)
btw if someone already checked the games file system,,the data.pak could be unpacked and repacked to grf to let the Ragnarok emulator recognize this without any problems,,just need someone who have some skills in java and lua :silly:

Android Games
I need some android online games. I searched in net but couldn't able to get the right link for it. Can anyone please help me out with this???
I absolutely love this game soooo much im a s. korean girl and its so sad that i cant play it with anyone who doesnt speak korean ... its so unfortunate that your files are gone because it would have been great even tho english would have been better.. well i know korean perfectly and i can speak enlgish fairly well but im not a native english speaker that when i read the sentences in korean i have no idea how to translate ir correctly ! I admire your dedication i hope someday you make it happen and many ppl could enjoy this great( my favourite game!!) Great game!! Thank you for trying i would definately download it right away if you do, i would finally be able to play it with my bf !! I would love to be able to help even tho im afraid my english isnt good enough that i couldnt possibly translate correctly this well written script.. its like a book.. very well written youre absolutely impressive!!
---------- Post added at 09:52 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:47 AM ----------
I wonder if there would be someone who would put it on places like kickstarter or sth so they could hire translater cuz i would totally donate for sure......
Quick update on Arcturus - A new fan-made translation patch has been attempted. All menus, npc talk and the entire first act have been translated.
May I know what you used to repack the game? Or the tools on ARCTURUS in general asides from unpacking with GRFWiz? I am very interested in translating this obscure game to my native languages, but I am a beginner to these things(I learn quick, and am willing to spend time until I get a hang of it)

Searching I found a way to run flash games on our mobile ok: on HD2)
Download and install in the memory of the device this:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0GWT814X
We download the game's pack that we want.
We put the swf game in the memory card and with Resco Explorer associate the swf to the program that was previously installed: Archivos de programa/adobe/Flashlite/appzone.exe
Done, now we can play, choose your favorite program to rotate the screen and enjoy it!

I want to download my own flash games ...
Browsing with Firefox we will find one of the thousands pages with flash games Ex: http://www.flash-game.net/
Run the game and wait for fully load on our pc screen.
Once loaded the game we go to the Firefox menu -> Tools -> Page Info -> Media.
Here we look for a file "nest" that will play flash, click on save and get into the mobile.
looks pretty good but im not sure which link to hit to get it.can somebody help out please.....
Dodgy English translation of the page!
Looks good to me, as long as ripping flash games from these sites in this way doesn't warrant any kind of copyright infringement. Could be a sticky point I think. Although I know a lot of flash games are made by talented hobbyists & shared freely anyway.

nice im gonna try it out
Attached here for convenience - this is a direct download from the MegaUpload link in the OP.

er ... am i missing something...
I've got flash pro installed and I've associated the SWF files and they load fine and work perfectly apart from .,...

only games touch, post first download....
i get that they have to be touch...
I chose his first download link ... i.e. favourites
the "start" button always works then nothing...
any clues?
GG
Most of these so far are working fine. on htc hd2, the Fisica Girl is a strange game...but fun in a strange way.
Paul,

All I did was install the cab on the first page. Downloaded one of the megaupload links. Un packed the rar file. Copied the contents of this file to my storage card.
Used file explorer open with, selected programs and pointed to the flash software. When I click on the swf files they open fine. Some say memory error and most are in spanish.
Having ago of some actions game, you can't control these as there is no leyboard but some work fine for games such as battleships and blackjack
thats wot i thought ...
dexter, for example works, but anything that uses the keyboard, like xiao xiao dont work!
shame
GG
wow... a MASSIVE repository of games there.
Im sure ill find some i like... thanks suyama8!
What is the game in your screenshot called? Ive found a couple of penalty shootout games there but not that particular one yet.
First post changed to English
if i tap teh apzone or open a .swf with it the appzone doesn't open
Wow this is very cool!
The games run very smooth, didn't expect that
Some games fit the whole screen and that looks nice but the others are way to small. Any chance to make them bigger or get this in landscape or something?
I tried it with BSB Tweaks but no result, can anyone confirm this?
So any possibilities to make the games larger or get it in landscape?
This will be much appreciated
-update-
Ringi should now work on all android devices!
-/update-
Hi everyone!
I finally have my first android game up to a point where I can show it to the world I've always wanted to make games, and have been making them in my spare time for a while, but this is the first real, complete one I'm showing to the world. I'm a bit proud (everything 100% done by me), but also apprehensive considering all the different devices out there and what can go wrong So you guys are the first to see it in action! Where else but the place where I got into mobile phones in the first place?
Anyway, the game's called Ringi and you have to rotate rings using your fingers to bounce a ladybug off flowers and ensure the ladybug doesn't go outside of the rings. Some flowers slow you down, others speed you up and others do different things, so use them wisely
I think it's quite fun and addictive (in a kind of teris/breakout/puzzle bobble-y way), but I'd love to hear what XDA thinks about it.
Anyway, here's what it looks like:

There's two modes to play with (leveled and continuous) and three styles to choose from (although I like the default best ).
You can iplay the full game, with a level/time limit (mods, let me know if this is OK to post in this section!) .... but seeing as I'm asking for feedback, it's free unlockers all 'round! Well, I'll make a selection of the posters here and email/send via pm a free unlocker! I don't have a limit in mind, we'll just see if there's any interest to begin with
Anyway, here's the link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.LifeBoat.Ringi
If you like it, let me know, but more importantly, if you don't, please let me know why not! I'm open to ANY suggestions
And if you find any errors, I don't want to know about it. But tell me anyway, 'cause it means I've screwed up somewhere
-edit 04/09/12-
I've reworked memory management again so now tablets and phones with large screens (>800x480) and lower heap memory should run the game too! Google Play should soon be updating to v1.1.0!
-edit 17/8/12-
v1.0.11: it appears all bugs and FCs have been fixed! Thank you, everyone who stuck with the game for so long!
-edit 13/8/12-
OOPS! Made a dumb mistake in packaging v1.0.8. Please pretend it never happened Nine is the new eight
-edit 12/8/12-
For some strange reason a bitmap which should have been created as mutable wasn't on some devices/android builds. This is now fixed (or at least ensured not to happen). OutOfMemory issues were fixed in the previous update, so now Ringi should work for everyone!
-edit 11/8/12-
Did a large rewrite on the rendering code and on the way bitmaps are created and cleaned up. As a result, Ringi now uses a lot less memory and runs better. Devices with lower heap memory should now be able to start and actually play the game, and do so with better fps.
As usual, PM me your email adress for a free unlocker!
Guys, almost 250 views and not one download? Or even a comment?
Dr, I don't who you are, but pm me your email adress and I'll send you an unlocker! Thanks!
Might be good.
Will test it out on my tablet when I get home

I like this game a lot!
If this is one of your "early" games, I can't wait to see what you'll come up with in a years time
cwillison94, check your pm
And, Lesicnik1, thank you; I have "plans" Oh, man, do I have some cool ideas ... and I say that as a gamer. Three fully fleshed out, too ... just gimme a sound guy, one or two artists, a pr dude and some money (and with enough money, a finance geek would be nice, too)
It's just that I was laid off last week (they lost an account, LIFO, plus job didn't really fit with my capabilities, so don't be too sad) and I still have to pay rent and food ... so don't expect those games just yet
I'm looking for people with a Galaxy Nexus running Jelly Bean and /or a HTC EVO 4G LTE who also have aLogCat installed. Apparently there's a problem with Ringi on these devices, but I'm not getting any error reports sent in via the Google Play dev console. So if someone with those device could post their aLogcat log here, you'd be doing me a huge favour!
I know it's bad form to self bump, but is there truly no-one who wants to help out? Just a quick aLogcat, really!
Tested it for you. I'm running aokp milestone 6 on HTC Sensation.
Seems a bit laggy. The sound works fine. Under the tutorial the "done" bubble/cloud is placed over the actual instructions so you can't read all of it, maybe make it smaller and put it in a lower corner maybe.
MyAwesomeSignatureYoe
Looks Good, Wish I could play it. I get a FC when I "Tap To Play". Running Sony Tablet S with stock ICS.
Thank you, Cj, for upping a crashreport from the game! Hopefully the OutOfMemory issue is fixed now!
Thanks i really like this game,
But when i open the toturial i get this:
Im using a sony xperia ray with ics 4.0.4
HAAAAAAX!!!
Ah...that's not exactly what I was going for! Thank you for taking the trouble of taking a screenshot; that really helps!
I'll go see if I can't fix that
I just downloaded the game for my sgs3 using cm9 and everything worked until I tapped the center to start at which point it did a force close. This happens every time.
Update: The game works if I set style to Segments. Flowers or Neon force closes. Nice game.
That's really strange ... could you report the error from the game, or maybe even install aLogcat and paste the error here (it's in red in aLogcat). I don't really understand why it would work in segments mode and not with the flowers ... I mean, I could understand if it didn't work in flower mode, but did in Segments and Neon, but not working in Flowers and Neon?
Well, I'll check it out, but a crash log would REALLY help
OK, I've added some fixes; hopefully the game should work on more devices now!
Do you have a direct download, the market is showing an error, possibly because I've changed my dpi from stock?
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk 2
It could be because I just updated the game ... give it another try. If it still doesn't work, shoot me a PM with your email and I'll send it to you.
I'm a physicist. In English, we call that unemployed. When I graduated last August I decided to take a break from larger, colder organizations. My skills suggested that I needed to work with graphics and challenging programming. So, I decided to revisit my dream of being a game developer.
I decided to venture into creating games for Android. It seemed like a truly easy way to get a product out there since Google Play was so inviting and I already had a android phone to play with. I was familiar with opengl from a couple tiny projects with data visualization, and was a handy programmer in python, c++, or any language I found myself using. So, last August I decided to create "Number Splash (Lite)", a truly simply game for young kids learning numbers. The simplicity of the project allowed me to focus more on the challenges of producing all aspects of the game and the company to represent it. This project took 3 months to produce; my first game & product. I was rather proud despite the slow downloads on Google Play & Nabi(A kids specific android tablet and app store).
My next project was another kid's app, the point of which was to promote my company with a free, ad free game with no external links. Something truly kid safe. This 2 week long project was called "Kids Coloring & Painting" and was a full time workload during the Xmas/New Year holiday. My goal for Kids Coloring & Painting, like with my first game Number Splash, was to offer a product that was higher quality than the myriad of hopeless apps available on Android. These games were created with OpenGL ES, Java, and Adobe Fireworks. Between a couple tutorials and xda/Stack Overflow it was easy to figure out everything. You can find me on google play under the developer: DMT Source.
Google "Nehe android opengl" and you'll come across the Insanity Design website. It contains a port of the older but infamous NEHE opengl tutorials which pretty much rock no matter what platform you are coming from or going to. I jumped right into lesson 8 and had a prototype of my first app working in a couple hours! It was just a gradient blue background with bubbles floating and jiggling from bottom to top heh... Also consider checking out the Lost Garden site by Dan Cook if you need some free game art for any sort of project. I'm using some of it now for a tile based running game I am working on next, cant wait to get it out.
I use Eclipse to program my android games in Java with OpenGL ES for graphics. I create my textures in Adobe Fireworks and use uncompressed 2^n sized png's with transparency to achieve sprites. Color picking and position testing used for UI. I have recently obtained a Nexus 7 & 10 for testing and really enjoy working on both. I also use a Motorola Photon phone and the Android emulator running down to Android api level 8 to stress test my apps on weaker systems. I also made the sites for the company, and each game (appname dot com).
The downloads have been pretty horrid, but that isn't the point...Look at what I learned in 4 months thanks to online tutorials and websites like xda and stackoverflow! Thank you for that.

You should post links to both of your apps here. They both look like great apps, and having a link makes them easy to download.
I'm downloading the kids coloring and painting now. It looks absolutely great. My child is only a few days old but I plan buying your other numbers one so that I have it when he is old enough to start learning.

Hey guys, just put up a new website to better showcase the apps. Working on a Menger Sponge fractal app, Cute Path from the previous post, and a skateboarding game with some local animators! Also added a blog with this post. Thanks again!

PS: the caputuras are an old version of the game (2.4.5) the new version (2.8.0) is much better cast and better animations.
1) The game has a story mode (With all the sagas, minus the GT)
2) has a VS mode (which can be played up to 6 characters at once, (1 vs 1, 2 vs 2, 3 vs 3, 1 vs 2, 2 vs 3 ... etc)
3) It also includes a way to play online, also up to 6 players.
4) the game is very easy to edit, and you can add characters, editing skills, transformations and many more things (editing files and folders within the game in windows)
Here I leave a page where you create characters:
http://dbxpersonagens.blogspot.com.br/
in short, it's fun.
but I said, no point playing it on my pc, with games like (Battlefield 3, NFS Most Wanted, or even taking the Drago Ball Z PS2 emulator) then I thought, what if someone portara to android (as the game weighs no more than 60 mb)
so I was wondering if any of you know any developer that can make a port. for android of this simple and fun game .. @Pizza_Dox @smokerman @fma965 @poo-tang
@^I'm_With_Stupid @DiKeJ
and so we can play it on our Xperia Play
(below I leave a link to download it those who want to try, which is edited by me, I've added some characters., and am currently finishing editing, to leave well rounded., and adding some unknown characters. )
Link To Game Dragon Ball Budokai X (For Windows): http://www.mediafire.com/?8l0fowl8b24qlds
PS:is a mugen game, therefore it is absolutely free, so it is not Warez
Hope you interested in the idea ..
Greetings friends ..
So, you mean this is PC game and you want to make Android version, yes, am I correct? Just making sure, no sarcasm here if you felt something like that . Cheers Bro ^^.
@DiKeJ
clear .. this is a PC game, and would be nice if someone could port it to android .. but not entirely understanding your comment .. : (
can then somehow or not?
since I see there are so many other port android games (example: return castle Wolftein - Doom 3 - Quake 3) is that maybe it's a really stupid request on my part. but ask not lose anything. So, you mean this is PC game and you want to make Android version, yes, am I correct? Just making sure, no sarcasm here if you felt something like that . Cheers Bro ^^.
I mean I didn't want you to feel stupid or smth, I just wanted to make me sure and clear - now I know all .
About topic - I think it's possible, as you said, other PC ports are gets its port with 3d graphics etc. etc., but the main difference could be engine or part of programming. I think we need to contact developer of those PC ports, so he will tell us if he can do it, or is it even possible . I know a page when some guy relase always fresh new version of those games, so I'm sure he is Dev or just have good contact with him .
@DiKeJ
thanks man ..
I could spend that page spoken of?? or any private contact? : (
Therefore this, like other Mugen (Naruto - Samurai X - One Piece) and many other series are very good games .. .. that would be worth porting to android .. for more then be paid at the google play, are games that would be worth buying (which are also games that do not take up much memory and very low PC demand requirements)
We will contact privately, just in case to not angry Mods or so .
Write to me via Google Hangouts on .
To port anything, you first need the source code. Mugen is a closed source project, so the only person who can do that is the Mugen author.
There is a project called OpenMugen that is aiming to become a replacement for Mugen while being open source, though. I dont follow the mugen scene, but it seems like it still has a long way to go.
There is also something called "Paintown", which has an android version and seems to have a mugen mode: http://paintown.sourceforge.net/
I did not check it out, just saw it by googling.
Firstly: This mention stuff is great but also annoying, Please don't mention me for things relating to "wanting to be developed" as i am not a developer nor do i appreciate being emailed constantly about things that don't even regard me (but i keep email on for "important" issues)
Secondly: Wouldn't this be better off in Android General section instead of the Xperia Play specific section.

So, guys... Did you try to play demo? What do you think about our game demo?
Our Swordbreaker game demo have more than 1000 downloads!
Tried your demo and it was an interesting and funny game. Not sure if it contains just choices you have to make or that you can 'play it for yourself' (don't know if that's the correct English explanation).
Anyway, good luck with it

So, news of the last hour: we were published on a crowdfunding platform of IndieGoGo: http://igg.me/at/swordbreaker-game/x/11016196
We will try to collect bucks on payment of the artist and the translations into different languages since all this is very expensive to us....
Who wishes - can financially help.
I'll try it

We took into account your responses concerning music (it wasn't pleasant to much) and we can tell that it will be partially or is completely replaced + a lot more melodies that the melody didn't seem monotonous will be added.
