Help i bricked my tab 2 10.1 - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My tab 2 started feeling sluggish so i decided to wipe it. Firstly i did a factory reset from within android but my files were still intact so i then went into CWM and formatted the mounts. Now it wont boot past the first samsung logo so im guessing i formatted something i shouldnt have ..I cant access CWM anymore, it must have been wiped when i formatted the mounts so i have no means of copying files to it.
My tab 2 is the 10.1 inch version GT-P5100 with 3g
I'm currently downloading my stock rom for odin but i cant see how im going to copy the file to my device since i cant get into any recovery.
Is there any hope for me ?

you're going to have to power the tab down and then boot it into "download mode" which I think is hold Vol - and power at the same time. Then USB it to your computer and you'll see "added" in the box within Odin and then you can add the firmware to the PDA field and flash. I'm pretty sure you'll be okay...but you definitely don't need the firmware file on your phone, just your computer.

Thanks all sorted. Once i had odin downloaded everything was clear...I'm now running Cyanogem mod and everything feels much faster on the tablet.

Is there anyway to get out of this. It only shows the Samsung Galaxy Tab Logo, I can also get into recovery. I tried to wipe everything to see if it would boot up, but its still stuck on the startup screen. Any help would be much appreciated!!

this is very easy to fix fortunately you have not hard bricked LOL now follow my steps....
step1. download your required firmware package from the development section.
step2. download the odinv1.8 and then unzip and install to desktop
step3. open odin and select PDA and load the unzipped firmware file. (do not touch anything else at all)
step4. power on the device with volume button down and power on (download mode)
step5. plug in to pc via USB 2.0 as this has less chance of failing then press start on odin it will push the firmware on to the device and them reboot
step6. sit back and enjoy lol.
thank me if it helps.

soft brick galaxy tab 7.0 plus
I have the same problem as described by kaizasoshi on a GT-P6210 (WIFI only model) and can get to download mode. I haven't been able to find a copy of Odin 1.8 to download so I have Odin 4.0.3 - hopefully that'll work. The megaupload link for Odin 1.8 gives you software Odin 1.8.2 which turns out to be some sort of MRI operating software.
I used the link provided in the response for the GT-P6200 model, did a search, and I can't find the firmware file for the P6210 anywhere on the site. I found a file elsewhere on XDA supposedly is the firmware file for my model P6210 and when adding to PDA I get an error "Invalid Image File Type" The file name that I found is named GT-P6210_XAR_P6210UEKL1_P6210XARKL1_P6210UEKL1\P6210XARKL1_P6210UEKL1_HOME.tar.md5
Does this sound right? Does anyone have any guidance for me (besides stop bricking my Tab)? Thanks

Well I found a version of Odin 1.8 and it took the tar file without an error message. I started flashing the file to my P6210 and it went well for a couple of minutes (about half a green bar in the first block). Then something went wrong and ODIN started alternating the below messages:
<ID:0/004>Added!!
<ID:0/004>Removed!!
<ID:0/004>Added!!
<ID:0/004>Removed!!
And while showing the above, the P6210 screen started alternating between a black screen and the below message:
Firmware upgrade encountered an issue.
Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.
I watched this continue for over an hour in this loop (no progress on the green bar), then disconnected and reconnected the P6210. I launched Kies and tried troubleshooting but just got the alternating screen again on the P6210 and starts and stops of Kies troubleshooting. It looks like it's pretty hosed. Any suggestions?
Help would be greatly appreciated.
As an aside, the only thing I've done to the tablet was do a one step root about 3 months ago and I think two product updates afterwards (reapplied the root after each). The tablet ran OK but I started getting the auto shutdowns other have gotten, along with several instances of a warm battery and high battery rates of consumption. It didn't behave this way all the time. Finally two days ago, while on the charge,r I found it locked into the Tab startup screen. I could get it to boot into recovery but kept getting lots of red error messages, like it was looking for files that weren't there, then I'd reboot and it would go back to the locked startup screen.
Can you get into recovery by holding up and power on (release power after it boots, but hold volume up)
Sent from my HTC Glacier using Tapatalk
Yes I can get to recovery now. Since my previous post, I recharged unit overnight and attempted to reflash OS. This time, Odin runs all the way until the first green box says PASS! Odin Message box says <OSM> All threads completed (succeed 1/failed 0). Then message box cycles thru ID 0/004 Removed ID 0/005 added!! then ID 0/005 Removed!!, then ID 0/005 Added!!
At this point Odin doesn't do anything else. The P6210 then starts giving a bunch of failed messages - failed to mount cache(no such file or directory), Can't mount /cache/recovery/command, then goes into Manual Mode then message failed to mount /efs (no such file or directory) install application for customer: Can't mount /efs copy application failed. Then meesage Applying multi CSC then failed to mount /efs, then multi_csc can't mount/efs
Then multi-csc applied failed.then more messages on failing to mount cache can't mount cache recovery log/last log
Then at this point the top of the screen offers rebot/apply update from sd/wipe data-factory reset/wipe cache partition. Through all of this I have not unplugged the P6210 from the PC.
I select reboot system now and press power button (still connected)
Get a bunch more messages about cant open cache recovery log. Then it goes to the Samsung Galaxy tab screen and just hangs.
It seems there's some files missing that is causing the unit to hang.
added/removed sounds like could be faulty wire connection.
which firmware are you trying to flash may we ask?
May be useful to find a .pit file with stock firmware, if there are any around for your device.

I've also tried changing the usb/samsung cable from aftermarket to OEM and changing USB port used on PC. Reflashed PDA file, No change. The reflash appears to complete but is followed by the error messages identified previously. The file I'm attempting to flash w/Odin 1.85 is named P6210XARKL1_P6210UEKL1_HOME.tar.md5. The file is 894.011 MB. I've downloaded it twice and no difference in flash result. I'm not having any luck finding a PIT file for the P6210.
Still looking for PIT file.

I've also found these 3 other files associated with the P6210. They are:
GT-P6210-MULTI-CSC-OXEKK1_RST.tar.md5
P6210_APBOOT_P6210XXKL2_CL583761_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5
P6210_CODE_P6210XXKL2_CL583761_REV02_user_low_ship_16G.tar.md5
Would loading these files via Odin possibly help with my problem? I'm not sure which files would be loaded for the different parameters (PIT, BOOTLOADER, etc). It appears the CSC file would be loaded for CSC.
PS: I don't know what happened with kaizasoshi as far as how his TAB problem initiated, but mine had been experiencing SOD, auto shutdowns and warm battery when plugged into charger over night for the previous several weeks. I picked it up one morning off the charger and the P6210 was frozen on the startup screen and wouldn't finish boot or shut down. It would go into recovery using the power and volume switches.
hi all, i have the same similar problem as TS but mine's a P6200 tab, heard that i need a pit file & the firmware ver(singapore) to flash it...
where do i get those files including odin? i got the firmware via sammobile.com, but no idea to get the pit & odin files,... will any kind souls direct me to them?
I found a PIT file a few days ago, supposedly for the P6200 using Google. I don't know if it works or not. I have a P6210, so I don't think I can use a P6200 PIT.
PIT Link:

ODIN Link:

any new updates on this? im having the exact same problem and have tried all the previously mentioned files through Odin with no positive results. any help would be appreciated. i have a US version 6210
yeah.. dont flash a tab plus firmware unless you're sure its for your specific model
either T869-Tmobile/WifiGT-P6210/or G version GT-P6200. If youve flashed the previously mention files, you've probably done some serious damage.
Best option now: Find a device specific firmware WITH a .pit file, flash with Odin/Heimdall with fngers crossed.
Other options: tell them you hooked it up to iTunes to sync your media.. lololol
hope you get warrantied..

Still having Tab2 woes

I have an earlier thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2107600 but that is now buried on page 2 and might be missed by new readers. After a disastrous time trying to root my Galaxy Tab 5100 I did manage with the help of people here to flash the recommended stock ROM - however while the tablet goes through its boot sequenece with the aminated Samsung sign - it sticks when it gets to the plain Samsung logo and wont go further.
Odin reported that it installed OK and the tab rebooted as it should but only this far - not sure what I should try next to get my stock Samsung image back and working. One thing I didn't do was to tick repartition because the instructions only said to do this when a certain type of file was included in the package, and it wasn't. Should I have ticked this after all, if so I can try the same thing again if I can force it back into download mode again. (though as the yellow pane still shows in odin when connected I wonder if I can just go ahead anyway)
I have also been looking for rooting software and came across this
http://root-android.org/?version=Tablet&country=Samsung&ios=Galaxy+Tab+2&submit.x=63&submit.y=104
I am wondering if next time (assuming I ever get it working!) I would be better shelling out $30 and getting software to do it all for me - is this any good? has anyone used it or had reports about it? I wish I had seen this before I read "that it was almost impossible to brick the tab 2"
Also I would like to have root access on my S3 as well but wouldn't dream of risking this I don't think now

Have you tried a factory reset from recovery? If you've restored the stock ROM, then all you need to do is the factory reset to get things working again. Don't repartition unless you really need to.

I can't see any reason you should spend that kind of money given how easy the CF-AutoRoot is. In fact, that product looks very shady to me. "Root Any Android Device"? Well, there's lots of devices out there that nobody's been able to root, or devices that take a lot of work. I can't believe there's a single app that'll work across every Android device with a single click.
Be careful, which stock ROM have you flashed? I would use this sequence
flash the stock ROM
then immediately
flash CWM recovery, use CWM recovery to wipe the data (wipe data/factory reset).
Then reboot
CWM ?

Well I followed one of the posted routes on this forum, downloading from a list of recommended files for each version, and it mentioned nothing about CWM which I know nothing about. I have to say that everyone's definition of "easy" on here - I find complicated and difficult - I know my way around windows but android seems much more complex. The only reason I wanted to have root in the first place was to be able to make a complete image back up that would make it easy to restore my device without having to re-download all my software and set up. I do it with windows all the time. To me "easy" is, download and install something - click go - done! Even getting the device to go into download mode in the first place is a very hit and miss affair (as others say on here too) clearly Samsung don't want you to do this.
The other problem is that while the tablet is in this state it wont turn off, just reboots itself when you do and the screen stays on - so unless you leave it plugged in 24/7 - I start each time with a flat battery that I have to recharge before I can try something else
This is the route I followed

I got this through earlier posts - the only thing I didn't do was to go into recovery and reset in step 2 because this simply wasn't possible - the device was stuck on the error message and no amount of button pressing did anything other than restart to the same screen. By this stage I couldn't even go back to check what version of android I was running - it would have been the latest jelly bean distributed to UK.
I also didn't check re-partition as in 6. because there was no pit file in the download

Help please - this is where I am at the moment - some SIMPLE help needed please
I tried to install what I thought was the stock ROM - it appeared to install but wouldnt boot past the samsung screen. I now realise (a) that I may not have followed the full correct procedure and (b) may have downloaded the 5110 rom instead of the 5100 rom - silly mistake I know.
However reading all the guides I can find there doesnt seem to be a simple way I can find of restoring the standard un-rooted rom so that I can go back and try again. All of the things I can find seem to included downloading something onto the external card but cant do that as I cannot access it and don't have an external card reader.
What I can do now is
boot into download mode
connect to ODIN and see the yellow block
It will not boot normally past the samsung splash screen
and cannot connect to KIES in any mode (I do have the drivers installed and have connected before)
I also have no idea now what is installed on it because I cant get to the system to see!
Is there an easy way to install a stock samsung rom from this point? I don't mind if data is lost, I have nothing important on there and wouldnt mind re-installing apps as I had accumulated far too many anway - really I just want to get my tablet back the way it was from the factory but with the 4.2 jelly bean installed (though if it went back to an earlier version and I could update in Kies that would be ok too)
Can anyone give me simple instructions for doing this using just ODIN and my computer without involving the external card - please.
After that I will be looking for an equally easy way to root it again
I will credit you with a good answer if you can help -as well as appreciating it.

What you need to do is to download the stock ROM for your 5100.
Go to www.samfirmware.com and put "GT-5100" into the search box. You'll see a list of the stock firmware for your device. Pick the appropriate firmware for your country and click "download".
Start up ODIN. Click on the "PDA" button and open the firmware file you downloaded above.
Restart in downloader mode (power and volume up), and connect the tablet to your PC. ODIN should now show the device.
Make sure repartition is not checked, and click on "Start". When it finishes, you now have stock firmware installed.
Power off, then restart in recovery mode. (Hold power and volume down.)
Choose "wipe data/factory reset" by using the volume keys to move the highlight, then pressing the power button to select an entry.
Once it's finished booting, you should be back to normal.
Thanks K1MU for this information which at least looks clear - the only problem I have is when I put in the model etc when I get to country it offers me only 3 choices
UK (BTU) GB (O2) or GB (vodafaone)
My phone was purchased from Amazon and is unlocked so I am worried if these might lock me to a carrier which I wouldn't want
I wonder if BTU is the unlocked one as it doesn't sound like any provider I know - but I am not sure
will post on their forum as well
I think I am getting more and more muddled by the minute (sign of old age I fear) I realise now that I have a p5110 - wifi only and not p5100 3g and wifi.
This means in all probablilty I downloaded the correct rom in the first place. As I had not done the factory reset afterwards so tried that - it appeared to work ok but when I restarted it just played the samsung tune and moving image - then went to "Samsung" and stuck there as it was before.
I am downloading the p5110 wifi only rom from Sam's site - awful download programme they use which doesn't accept paypal even to sign up for faster downloading - I will then try following exactly what you have suggested and keep my fingers crossed
thank you

Although I thought it had got nowhere after wipe restore - when I turned it back the next day I arrived at the start up guide - admitedly it was 4.0.3 and in Portugese but after exploring settings and working out what to click i got it back to uk english - it has now connected to kies ok and is currently downloading the latest firmware - thanks partcularly to the last poster and to all others who helped - I will go through and thank you others too,
Point is now - once I have jelly bean can I get root access easily -without installing another custom rom - ahh well tomorrows problem

[Q] noob sorry to bother but soft bricked Galaxy Blaze atempting to root

I am new here and searched for a similar problem but can't seem to find one just like mine. This is my first time to root this phone but have been successful in the past with others. I have a Galaxy Blaze I just bought and attempted to root with blaze.pit and blaze-root-kernel.tar in pit and PDA sections of ODIN respectively. It appeared all went well with a PASS from Odin reporting All threads completed. (Successful 1/faliled 0).
The phone auto rebooted while connected to the PC but froze on the blue "loading" bar (that's what I call it) and is frozen on the battery charging indicator screen which does increment when plugged into AC. If I push the power button it just buzzes. I never got so far as to load a ROM which is what leads me to think my question may be new but stupid me if digging through here didn't turn up what I'm looking for. This is my only phone and I'm SOL without it. I'm afraid I might have gotten the files from an old source (suspicion) and would appreciate any guidance getting me back where I was or rooted so I may continue.
I can get into load mode so not all is lost, except for me. Thanks for any kind person that would take a moment to bail me out.

I shoult mention that I did try to follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591601 but was not able to get the TAR file to download.
What version(ICS or GB) were you on when you tried to root? There are root methods that are different for both ICS and GB... Since you can boot into download mode, try getting Clockwordmod on your blaze via Odin. Then from there mount your device(via CWM) and transfer a ROM you want to try out. Don't forget Gapps... then wipe data/cache/dalvik and flash them both..

FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY Then if you're able to get into recovery, download whatever Rom you want to your pc, and inside recovery go into Mounts and Storage->Mount USB Storage and plug your phone into the computer. you should then be able to copy the downloaded Rom to your phone (make sure you know whether its your internal or external SD card. Then hit +++Go Back+++ twice and choose Install Zip from SD Card. The pick one: Choose zip from sdcard or choose zip from internal sd card. then navigate to the rom's zip, install, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik, reboot phone and you ***should*** be good to go.

Thank you so much for the input. I must be totally stupid because Odin loaded Clockwork mod without a hitch but it still freezes at the end of the blue bar and will no further. Odin reoorts pass When I boot do downloading... it only gives me the product name sgh-t789 Custom Binary Download Yes: (4counts) and current binary Custom. There is always a chance that I forgot to uncheck ro-partiton but I was pretty careful. All this to get rod of pages of bloatware...rrgh. Thanks so much to thos who have given me input so far. Unfortunatly I am not sure what I ws running in the first place but I imagine it was not ICS. I can't afford a new phone and know I must get past this!!! Thanks a million guys. I will try to find a rom to flash and see but am not even sure how to get into Cloclwork on ths silly thing yet.
To get into recovery you must do the volume buttons/power button hold. It's explained in the rooting thread. It's not hard, just follow the instructions. You shouldn't have to remove the battery, just turn off your phone, then hold all 3 buttons, release the power button after about 10 seconds but keep holding volume buttons until recovery comes up in your phone.

Thank you. I am able to get into recovery mode without an issue and odin reports that Clockwork Mod Passed but I stil can't get past the blue bar locking up when it reaches the end. I must be missing something stupid as I cand even get Odin to recoginze the stock download so I can try to start over. rrgh. I know I'm missing something stupid but it seems to me that when I boot the phone into recovery I should see a clockworkmod screen giving me boot oprions but not sure what I should be seeing am flying a bit blind. Would appreciate good recommendation of a rom to try and download and where I might find it. I do notice that the rocovery mode screen increments the custom binary dowload indicator everytime I try something.
Im thinking you might have forgotten to repartition the phone. Make sure its selected so you can have a clean partition and redo the steps to root it and see if that works.

strange, i always thought you had to partition, at least at some point.
Anywho, if you can get into recovery (and since you said odin loaded cwm) couldn't you just put a rom onto a SD card, pop it in, and just install it with cwm?

Oddly CWM reports as having loaded in Odin but I cant access it to load a mod unless there is a trick to getting to CWM I haven't figured out yet. I'm also a bit confused that Odin only recognizes TAR files when the mods I downloaded ie liquid are in zip format and not recognized by Odin. sorry for asking stupid questions but I sincerely appreciate the time you all take to respond. I am detrermined to fix this one. I was pretty careful to uncheck repartition but there is always the chance I missed it once.

to get to download mode, you need to either have a jig or to have your phone plugged into your computer while pressing VOL UP + VOL DOWN and PWR. that will get you to Download (Odin) Mode. To get to CWM Recovery, Unplug your phone from your computer and press VOL UP + VOL DOWN and PWR. The phone will do a short vibrate and the Samsung logo will appear. Then you will see ClockworkMod Recovery at the top with options. If you have standard (non-touch) CWM, use volume up and volume down to navigate and select your choice with the power button (short presses, a long press will power off). Go to mounts and storage -> mount usb storage. then copy your ROM of choice to your phone. go back twice and then enter install zip from sdcard. then either Choose zip from sdcard or Choose zip from internal sdcard. install. wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik. reboot. win.
Continued thanks.....

My problem is that I am not able to get into CWM. I am able to get into Odin mode but I get the vibrate when trying to boot into CWM then the Samsung logo then the blue bar that freezes when it reaches the end. After that when I try a regular boot all I see is the battery indicator if I have it plugged into power. I really appreciate these detailed instructions, but until I can get past the blue bar, I am stuck.......
Do you let go of the vol button and power before the Samsung logo? If you do then hold the buttons until the logo appears then let them go. If you let go early it just boots like normal

No download mode, no recovery, detected by odin, not kies

Hi,
I rooted my brandnew GT-P3110 with cf, flashed pacman and cwm recovery. I do not blame anybody alse for my issues but myself. I guess I messed up the restoring of NON-system-apps:
After a day of troublefree use the tablet randomly rebooted and came back with the message "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.". No booting into recovery possible, no booting into download mode, no regular boot. Just the same message over and over again. Battery is unremovable.
I installed Kies, updated it, it downloaded drivers but under "emergency recovery" my tablet didn't appear. I then followed the "Firmware Upgrade and Initialization" procedure wich downloaded the necessary files but aborted with a korean text shown in the attachment after replugging the tablet. I tried this with 2 different USB-cables on several USB-ports. Kies btw asked me to remove the battery (not possible) after entering device number and serial-number. I turned off by pressing the off button instead and it turned on again.
I uninstalled Kies, rebooted, installed the samsung drivers manually, rebooted. I installed odin 1.85 (and later 1.3) and downloaded my contry's stock firmware (and later a newer version of the same firmware and another country's stock) from sammobile. I tried to flash them first without "repartition" ticked, later with it ticked but without a pit file (i can't find it!). I got four different errors, two are attached, the third was somethign like "cant write (line 1876)" and "cant write (line 1440)".I tried three stock firmwares with two version of odin with two USB cords on everal ports on ONE computer. I remove the tablet every time, exited odin every time, run it as admin, disabled firewall, xp-antispy and antivirus. I'm on Windows 7.
Besides a million other threads I found this one, but I wasn't able to solve my issue with it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1652398
For 48 hours i tried to solve this problem by myself. Now I hope to find out if there's a point in continuing or if I can give up and throw away the piece of samsung.
Cheers,

I am having the same problem with a P5113. Started with stuck at the Samsung logo. Then I tried a flash from Odin that didn't work. That led to the "Firmware error" screen telling me to use Keis. Keis fails to find the tablet. Odin still sees it but doesn't get a good write.
Now all I get is the battery icon when plugged in but that's it.
Things I have tried:
1) Two versions of Odin
2) Different USB ports
3) Different PC
I also let the device sit over the weekend to completely discharge. Still nothing.
Did you (or anyone else) resolve this issue?

Dude had the same issue on my galaxy S2 and resolved it. I downloaded the
The .pit file for my gt-i9100g (http://data.hu/get/4697903/omap4_all_20110627_emmc.pit)
The stock ROM from sammobile. (http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/2/)
The JB Bootloader
The stock JB kernel.
Opened odin v1.85.
Then i used the vol down+home+lock keys together to try to open the download mode ( but ended up in the "Firmware error " page) and connected phone to the pc. It shows "Added!" in the message box.
Repartition with the .pit and it will reboot.
Disconnect
Get into download mode and install the bootloader and it should reboot when done. Disconnect.
Get into download mode and connect
Installed the kernel through odin and reboot
Download mode again and install the ROM through odin.
If the phone gets stuck in boot loop (samsung logo over and over),
get into recovery mode ( for s2, vol up+home+lock, it needs to be pressed intermittently)
Then do a full format along with wipe cache.
And then the phone finally booted completely. . Good Luck.
Note: I'm not sure to boot into recovery and download are the same key combos as it was for the i9100g.

Thanks. Well, I understand the theory. I have had trouble finding a PIT file that I am sure is for my device. I did save a PIT file but I think it is corrupt because using it requires me to let the battery die afterwards to get back to download mode. Same for the bootloader. I have a few things I've tried, but not sure I have one that is exactly for the GT-P5113 (in fact, I never did find a JB for the 5113 just the 5110 and it never would load).
Well no amount of coaxing has put life back into the tab
I may try again out of curiosity, but rather than invest more time I went out and bought a 32G Nexus 7 (2013 version). I would still like to get the Galaxy Tab alive again -- it has corrupted the flash twice before and each time I was able to bring it back to life. Not sure if this is an actual hardware failure or if it is just beyond partitioning.
I have a feeling if I had the right PIT and the right bootloader I could get back in business.
I can do each thing you mentioned, but my device is not getting detected by my PC. When I insert USB it says USB not recognized and it is not detected by Odin, adb and anything else. I am stuck on Boot Logo for my P3100 and when I go into recovery, it says USB not recognized. Fully messed up. Can you help me out here.

No. I finally sent it to one of these ebay guys who will JTAG it since I was too lazy to wire up one of my JTAG probes. They worked on it and said it was simply dead and the only alternative would be to replace the flash chips.

[Q] tab 2 7.0 P3110 stuck at Samsung Tab 2 7.0 screen unable to boot to recovery

Please can you help I bought this samsung tab 2 7.0 P3110 with it only powering on to the samsung tab 2 7.0 logo screen.
I am unable to get to recovery screen using the power and the vol up button all this does is power it off even if I hold for over one minute.
I can get to the download screen (power and vol down doing so is easy as it works) I have been able to use odin (failed many times) and download firmwares.
Last night I was able to download and gain a pass in Odin for CF-Auto-Root-espressowifi-espressowifixx-gtp3110 this I ran fist then 4.1.1 P3110XXCLK7_P3110OXACLK7_BTU. the problem after that is when odin tells it to reboot it hangs at the logo screen everytime. I have tried without the reboot and reboot manually it staill hangs.
is it a bootloader problem? corrupted partition? I think it needs the whole boot process reinstalled or rewritten if someone knows how
I am not looking for a custom rom All i want it to do is to power on into the stock recovery and to power on into the sofware by using something that works either by reformat or re partition the tab to get that part of the tab working before looking at firmware. sometime I have seen write fail when in odin.
simple instructions for how to get it back is all I am looking for.
I have browsed your site and watched youtube for hours no light at the end of the tunnel

I am not too sure about the partition/repartition thing, but I think you should use said Odin to flash CWM 6.0.45. It doesn't mean you have to install a ROM, but try attempting a factory reset (at this point, not being able to boot up, you might need to use Cwm to create some sort of backup).
However, I suggest waiting until you receive more than one reply, as I may be wrong
For going into recovery, try holding the buttons at the same time. When you see the first samsung bootscreen, release the power button and continue to hold the other button.

Thanks for your reply I probably didnt explain myself. I have always been holding down the power and the vol up button at the same time.
I have access to another tab 2 7.0 P3110 that is working in stock mode (a trusted friend allowed me to check how to get to the download and recovery screens ) I have noted the time it takes to boot into recovery from power off and from the samsung tab 2 7.0 screen and also going into recovery from the download screen. mine dont do any it just goes to the download screen or power off. the screen is black no life lol.
just a thought I dont think it actually powers off although the screen is black because I left it for over 10 hours I felt the back and it was warm battery was low as I couldnt power it on it was fully charged when I tried to get into recovery 10 hours earlier.
will try to explain one step at a time
because of the problem I am thinking I have to start from scratch instead of jumping into the middle of what is already possibly corrupt files. (I have probably built a house out of my bricked Tab)
1. what do I have to do to get a totally clean 8gb space for recovery and firmware to go onto?
2. what has to be installed via Odin to get to recovery (can recovery be tested on its own before the firmware is installed)
3. I have tried a PIT file before all I had was 0 completed and 0 failed???? is that good or bad? didnt see a PASS at the top left. did I have the correct PIT file?
4. are PIT files dependant on which version of Odin I run or recovery or firmware? if they are can someone point my in the right direction for everything that is compatible with each other
I read on this forum of splitting the MD5 files into bootloader pit by extracting it twice I tried that in winRAR I only had one chance it left a tar.md5 file which is the file I used to upload in Odin.
Thanks again for everyones help

I have tried the above it passes and reboots to samsung tab 2 7.0 and thats as far as it goes. I waited 15 minutes no change tried the usual to get into recovery not happening. went back to download screen and ran gtab2P311x8g.pit below is a snippet of the important bits from Odin output screen bottom left I had auto reboot, repartition and f reset time all selected
set pit file
get pit for mapping
theres no pit for mapping
all threads completed succeed 0 failed 1
I have also ran philz touch 6.008 universal root also pass with reboot and without reboot
all tar md5 files installs and with a pass reboots but no blue bar on the bottom of download screen and no access to recovery screen.
I think the internal 8gb memory needs to be wiped and partitioned.
maybe someone can tell me how to extract all the files that are needed to get the os onto the tab from the tar md5 file like the partition, recovery and bootloader etc and the order of installing in Odin

it all run through with pass at the end. It doesnt show the blue line running across the bottom of the download screen on the tab. I have never seen this in all the 20 + times I have tried with Odin. All the you tube vids show this as part of the installation process. If I have auto reboot on the tab reboots when Odin send the request to the tab to reset.

it all run through with pass at the end. It doesnt show the blue line running across the bottom of the download screen on the tab. I have never seen this in all the 20 + times I have tried with Odin. All the you tube vids show this as part of the installation process. If I have auto reboot on the tab reboots when Odin send the request to the tab to reset.

ADB devices does not attach itself to the tab. ADB just says its waiting for device when in download mode and fastboot returns nothing. I think its because I am unable to run USB debugging due to no firmware.
Is there a way to get into the tab if theres no os?
I have taken the back off thinking the volume or power key might be faulty, there not. Pressing the power button and the up vol does nothing apart from putting the tab in a reboot loop or power off. I can get into download mode no prob. I have tried pressing the up and down vol keys with the power button to try to put the tab into shock no change.
I was searching the forum for a similar problem as mine.
And you have the exact same problem as I do.
At some point when I used Odin 3.07 and flashing an official firmware from samsung I got past the first boot screen.
But right after that it shows an android robot with a dedacahedron in front of it showing an animation and a loading bar.
Soon I discovered the next loop, since this animation would loop over and over again.
Now I waited for the battery to run out and charge it up till its full.
By the way:
When the tablet is off and I plug it in with the original cable and charger the tablet shows the battery icon, but it doesnt show the charging animation. The battery icon shows a "waiting" circle. So I cant really see if its charging or not.
Have you had any progress?
Would be so awesome to fix this, this galaxy tab is not mine. Its my brothers and I broke it by trying to root it and install cwm xD
Eureka
Dude I totally got into recovery mode.
I downloaded CWM (clockwordmod) 6.0.1.1 SuperSU 0.96 Busybox 1.2.0.2 md5 file.
You can find it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1880010
In the first post there are attached files.
The right one is in that list.
Then I tried flashing it with Odin3 Version 3.09
I googled for a newer version of Odin and found this version 3.09
First time rebooting didnt work.
But the seccond time I succesfully got into CWM recovery.
Hope this works for you 2!
Cheers.

Thanks for the detailed guide and everyone's responses.. I was SOL also and re-flashing CWM helped get me back to where I can flash again.
