[Q] [HELP] Kernel fail

Hi,everyone.
I've rooted my i9003 and didn't flash any rom and kernel.
In this morning, I clicked into the "System update", and there is a update available,
so I downloaded that update file and the phone starting to reboot to the update mode, but few seconds later, the monitor become red in colour and shows " Software update Fail! Kernel verify Fail"
and the phone doesn't turn on.
What should I do? It still can access to the download mode
Thank you for your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The same thing just happened to me. I tried flashing the rom with odin but nothing changed. Help!

Which firmware version do you have ?? In my opinion first flash KPE and then flash KPQ, a stable firmware.

I'm not sure which firmware, but it is a Hong Kong version with Android 2.3.5
is that ROM works? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1350404
should I flash it with odin?

no... first flash KPE(2.3.4) then flash KPQ(2.3.6). Press the thanks button

It just happen to me today. I'm with KKPQ. How can i flash other ROM while i can't access download mode and recovery mode. Thank you

Try a usb jig if you cannot go into download mode. You can even make your own usb jig. Just try searching youtube on how to make a usb jig or you can have it from ebay.

I flashed a package via cwm and voila its done reboot
1 second boot reboot 1 second boot and so on
I think its bricked , but its booting
I come in download mode, flash new DDKT3
boot it and 1 second boot reboot 1 second boot reboot and so on
i have no resolution for that pls help me

You install S5670XXKPI. He has 4 files. Later you can install the ROM that you want.

I think ..u just soft bricked your phone... dont worry ..not a big problem!
first try to flash 2.3.4 firmware...if the phone still gives the same problem...then install 2.2 firmware first and then gingerbread....that's it ..!

Dude its simple.
Flash a firmware with 4 files like kpi from odin and then flash the firmware you want on that......this was helpful in most of the cases........

but if i want to boot or come into recovery randomly reboots after every second

And latest ROM S5670XWKTI have 4 files. He is for Europe (Open Germany).

Boot = Boot
Phone = Modem
PDA = CODE
CSC = CSC

Flash a stock rom and give it to samsung care, if you have warranty...

Sorry. I wrongly translated. I thought you got a problem with the installation, not to you have the same problem as before.

heyy dude when you install a stock rom then go to recovery mode do a full data wipe then reboot and wait a minute this will help you

reflash a whole new baseband. it might do the trick.

s5830i help needed!!!!

so here i am , i was trying o]to flash stock rom via odin and i used .pit file, it started .. and then it said re-partition operation failed.... now when i click on the power button the screen shows a light but there is no samsung logo, i cannot go into recovery mode but i can go into download mode, i also tried to flash the PDA from 4 shared but it also didn't work... please help me.....

try to Uncheck re-partition or look here showthread.php?t=1552792

there are differences between s5830/s5830i
find a rom for s5830i only
check from fastboot if your phone is unlocked (S-off)
(maybe you try to flash a rom that requires S-off ??)

do you have a nandroid backup? it can help you to revert to stock rom
you should have one always do a backup before make changes !!

anw plz help me man i took my phone to a repair shop and he said he wasn't able to fix now when i turn it on i can see the samsung logo for like 5 secs and then it turns off again, then samsung logo 5 secs then turns off again i tried flashing pda.tar and it flashed successfully but still cannot turn on my phone help?

i tried everythin.... not working now i can see samsung logo but for secs and then the phone turns off by itself and then samsung logo for 5 secs and then the phone turns off again so on....

are there any working stock roms for the s5830i and how to flash them , dont give me pda.tar it isnt working i need an official stock rom plz to fix the brick.. ty

-in Windows7/Vista open Odin as administrator
-try other version of Odin
-try to enable "re-partition"
-never use ROM Manager this can destroy your phone
-never use a ROM made for s5830 (you have s5830i)

believe me a lot of people have problems with this model when flashing
try here for stock rom
enter s5830i in search field
(you need subscription to enable download mode)
also I made a thread for Samsung stock roms here
but there is nobody to answer :laugh:

hey man thanks for ur support but roms aren't flashing properly , maybe i need to split em using splitfus, anw if u can tell me how to get into recovery mode using a different method , cz i tried to get into recovery mode volume+home+power and it aint working so if there is any other way using pc or something , that would be great , thank u

to flash by Odin put your phone in download mode
Download Mode : Home + Vol Dn + Power Button this is not working ?
if not try to remove battery for a few s then put it back
what is your Odin version ?

I like to contribute solving problems because I hate problems :laugh:
I have had an Android phone made a custom ROM
and.. destroyed the phone with overclocking ...
now I have to buy another phone and Galaxy Ace/ Nexus is an option
Galaxy Ace is a good phone but there are problems when flashing so be careful when flashing again!
there are options to play with when flashing like check re-partition or use correct version of Odin
and sammobile.com is best site to check when having troubles !

Fit not flashing by odin

my fit got messed up and would show a blank screen when on, i tried flahing ddkt3, ddkq5 n froyo 2.2.1 but none of them worked
all got stuck on mibib download and now its stuck on setup connection

install drivers in your pc via kies first......your screen is stuck at setup screen right.....boot into recovery wipe data .....flash a froyo rom and then any gb rom of your choice.....if you are getting any error in odin post a reply with screenshot.....

first of all.. when u conect your phone the odin shows device connected.. if its not showing that its connected then it means u dont have device drivers installed in your pc... just download kies and install it on your computer that resolves your drivers problem and after that.. just flash any full pakcakge that means gingerbread 2.3.4.. u cannot flash ddkt3 i.e onepacage files directly.. it safe to 1st flash any full package and then flash ddkt3 it will work...
here is the link just follow the procedure.. becareful while flashing dnt skip any steps..

each device has its own ops file which is named after it board.......fits board name is beni...
so use beni.ops with the rom as tar with one package...

Guys m new to i9003 and i want to root my mobile and also want to know how to flash cwm on my device through odin .. pls help me ... Find out your firmware and download CF-Root for your firmware from this thread.

CF-Root does include CWM so you'll be able to flash any C-ROM. Again, read all instructions for the ROM/MOD/Kernel/etc that you want to flash.

my device is XXKPN and the download link for CF-root has broken .. .. pls help me ..man ...

i am feeling like its really a hard job for me to root it and flash cwm ...!!! its not so easy as my galaxy fit .....!

If your device is unrooted and original stock, try updating to the latest version for your region using samsung kies.
Then you might find better links for latest versions.

Else you can flash XXKPQ directly and then root it using CF-root for that version.
Note on guide thread says "Note: XXKPQ can only be flashed with help from it's supporting predecessor XXKPE like the XXKPN/XXKPH/XXKPM series, So make sure you have XXKPE downloaded. User flashing version varies with this, but this is my successful 100% assured boot." So, I guess you can flash XXKPQ directly on your XXKPN.

If you're on gingerbread, it's highly recommended that you use cf root kennel.
Use the universal Amit.bagaria kernel for gingerbread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19442301
you can find the detailed instructions there.
In simple words, power off your phone, enter into download mode by simultaneously pressing volume down, home and power button.
Then open Odin and in pda source select bagaria.tar
And unselect repartition option, select other 2 option (restart n other one).
Connect your phone via usb
Then see if Odin detects your phone, com port will turn yellow.
If it detects, press start and voila, you're done. It will restart the phone.
For your convenience, after auto restarting, Manual restart once again.
