Hey,
I've been trying to root my TF300T (JB 4.1.1, JRO03C.US_epad-10.4.2.130-20120907) with no success.
I've downloaded the ASUS unlocking software and it went fine.
I've installed fastboot but when I boot into Recovey Mode the tablet simply gets stuck if I choose RCK or USB option (I haven't tried to wipe).
Nothing happend for a looong time. Then, I turn it off and when I turn it on again it starts (cold boot I guess OK)
It boots fine into JB and I can use it, but there's no way I can root it (through Recovery Mode).
I've tried DebugfsRoot_Generic_v2.3, but on every attempt I get the same error message: "access denied".
Since I'm stucked in that (and I`ve read many treads here with no success. None of the problems seemed like this).
I'd like to know if someone has had the same problem or have any idea of what might be happening. It's really weird.
Sorry if it seems too noob. I've rooted my Samsung GSII flawlessly but I'm having problems with this tablet.
Read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1916762
Thanks, but I still can't boot into fastboot, it gets stucked as seen in the pic.

i doubt he would be able to use the touch version as it has a cost at the app market and then it would be classed as piracy.
Question here....
can this be directly flashed via fastboot?....

Then i have yhe insane idea to install rom manager from market and to set that i have installed the cwm manually.
Then i type rommanager to reboot into recovery.
Now there's no way to boot again normally, the recovery is shown at each boot.
So mi phone is stucked on "cwm-based Recoveru 6.0.1.2.
I have tried all wipe possibility.I've tried also to go in emergency mode but there's no way,

EDIT " i succeed to install omap drivers in the second that the phone was recognaiz, than with fastboot i don't know why or how it goes to emergency recover, so i was able to recovery it. Now is ok

Hi
I'm not sure it's the right place for my post, but I've got a question about your recovery image.
I tried all possible CWM recovery images on my P720 phone, no way to make it boot on it, I've got the LG logo that's all.
I'm nearly sure it's trying to access the recovery partition to boot, because in normal power up conditions it's working.
Is there a way to debug my situation (console ...) ?
Where can I find informations about the recovery booting process ?
How did you build your recovery image for p720, i would like to try to put some debugs ? I found a generic tutorial here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1935162 but is there specific changes t do ?
On some thread people are talking about the fastboot mode but I found nothing for p720, did I miss something ?
thanks for any answer

1st make sure that the recovery is flashed successfully..
Please provide me some screenshots for my confirmation.
And as you can see the their is no problem in recoveries...

I'm sure it's well flashed.
I flash the mtd then i dump back the mmcblk0p6 partition into a file and the data are in it (diff ok), plus the previous data over 0x4F5000.
I tried
cwm5.0.2.8.img from xda
cwm6.0.1.2recovery.img from xda
clockwork-6.0.2.3-p720.img from cwm site
On another LG, a p920, it worked flowless ! My p720 makes me crazy (the only other modification on it : rooted).
What kind of screenshot do you need ?

Hello my dearest XDA friends,
I've got a problem preparing my phone for an OTA update to 4.0.4, then to 4.1(.1?).
My situation is like this:
- My phone is rooted (SuperSU)
- It has what I believe to be TWRP Recovery on it
- I tried to flash stock recovery on it.
But now when I use OTA Rootkeeper and start the update, it gives the red triangle exclamation mark error.. I've tried to flash it using the All-in-One Kit, and also by booting into the bootloader and using "fastboot flash recovery.img", it then says the flash is successful but when I try to boot into Recovery mode it gives the same error..
I'm out of ideas, what to do? I'd rather not lose any files.. thanks!
Oh - I have the S4 version btw
Bump - Sorry for triple post just really want to know.

I've tried this, but when I start the update I get the red triangle error again.. I tried it by locking the bootloader, didn't work, then unlocked it again, so obviously everything was wiped, I've installed ParanoidAndroid now, if I don't like it I'll just install a custom ROM with Sense+.
Thanks for the help guys!

Yes, but when I flash stock recovery, then boot into recovery I get the green circle-arrow update thingy, then the red triangle, why is that?
You'll need to boot into android, with the stock bootloader installed, and the update will boot bootloader and install.
You'll get a prompt telling you what to do.

Man.. I'm having the same issue. Was rooted with TWRP, flashed ZenRom fine (with intentions of getting the OTA to JB), booted fine. Then had to switch computers cuz windows 8 sucks. Flashed stock recovery img, successful, now device won't boot past the green circle, then red triangle.
Any suggestions? I supposed I'll try flashing another recovery and see what progress I can make there.
I posted this instruction like 3 times in the xda forum in one week...
if you follow this step by step correctly there should be NO ! issues by reverting to stock JB
take a look here, or take two looks or more or whatever
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37942416&postcount=2
why using rootkeeper? follow this instructions and root again.
I used this method 3 times on windows 8 with latest HTC drivers, original HTC data cable, and TWRP 2.4.1.0.
no issues

You never unlocked your bootloader.
Well I'm not entirely sure where you went wrong there, did you Odin back to 4.0.4 or was that just an old backup?
That unauthorized software has been detected happened to me before when I took an ota unknowingly and didn't realize it locked my bootloader.
Going back to 4.0.4 was my fault, when looking for a solution to unbrick my phone I found a webpage that explained how and gave me files to download. And the file for the default rom was 4.0.4. I will try again after unlocking my bootloader again.
What did you use to get back to 4.0.4?
I unlocked my bootloader, went to cwm and tried to install a custom rom and got "E:Error in /sdcard/cm- 11 -20131211 - NIGHTLY -d2vzw.zip. (Status 7) Installation aborted".
Is that what it's showing now?

Yes, at first I forgot to wipe data/cache but even after I did that the same thing still comes up. Halp. Should I use Rom Manager? That's the progrom I used originally when I would get the System Software error, and now I get this error when going into CWM manually.

Older recoveries don't work with kit Kat (4.4) roms.
If you are using CWM make sure its 6.0.4.3
Where could I find a newer version? Sorry I'm scrub-cakes.

I hate to say it but it looks like you might have to flash a jelly bean STOCK(not custom) firmware, then start over from scratch, I think you are going to have to do it anyway because there are things in the stock jellybean that you're gonna need in place before you flash any kind of new ROM, it would also be easier that way than trying to fix your problem befire you start.

I hate to say it but it looks like you might have to flash a jelly bean STOCK(not custom) firmware, then start over from scratch, I think you are going to have to do it anyway because there are things in the stock jellybean that you're gonna need in place before you flash any kind of new ROM, it would also be easier that way than trying to fix your problem befire you start.

yes as long as it is a stock version of jelly bean for your device, doesnt matter the version as long as its for your exact model number
you won't be able to do it through recovery though, you'll have to have a oc to flash stock firmware to your device, you'll need to download your stock firmware (not custom roms), the usb drivers for your device, and whatever program is required to flash your stock firmware. no other way, then you'll have to root again and install a recovery then you can find and flash whatever custom roms are available for your device

you might could just reflash recovery with a pc with whatever method your device uses on pc then flash a custom rom, its safest to just flash the stock and start over

there is a process that you can do through the terminal emulator app that you can make a backup of your imei and a method to restore it but you'll have to find how it is done for your device, do a google search for "HOW TO MAKE AN IMEI BACKUP FOR (your device model)" that should give you something.

Hello..!!
Do you've Atrix 2 mb865 ..?? if yes you can follow this step..
you need to download ICS/JB leak firmware for ur device AT&T/International version, then you need rsd lite to flash ur stock fw back to ur device via fasboot mode..
Root ur device again and then you need to install Boot Menu Manager from playstore . No Bootstrap anymore if you want to have KK rom on ur Atrix2..
Bootstrap only can be use if you're still on GB only..
Hope you got it my friend ...

Really...??
No.. you no need to backup your IMEI on this device.. But you must need to backup your CID .
You can do it via bmm recovery.. there was a option menu to do it when you're on recovery setting interface ...
Sorry if I'm wrong. ..

I told him I wasn't familiar with his device, I told him to flash a newer version of stock because it has parts he'll need if he flashes a newer custom ROM but he keeps wanting yo fix what he's running even though he's gonna have to flash over it anyway to get where he wants to be so I don't see wgat the problem is, flashing stock will get rid of his issue then flash up to whatever Rom he wants, I don't see why he doesn't just go ahead and do it now instead of doing what he's doing.
