Hi guys,
I just noticed, that along with several Themes around here on Forum using Villain Theme System ( VRtheme), the installscripts inside do not completely consider the following:
==> on different deodexed Custom ROMs around here on Forum, there are used different methods/places to put the apps....e.g. on my deodexed ROM 'SystemUI.apk' is in /system/app, whereelse on other ROMs it is in /preload/symlink/system/app --> this is the case for many other apps being present in :
/system/app on 'ROM A' but on /preload/symlink/system,/app in 'ROM B'
some ROMs only use /system/app others only /preload/symlink/system/app
others use both of them but with different configurations
The effect is, that not all apps are proper themed using one of the VRthemes around here, depending on which ROM you are!
So I decided to modify the script and make 'ready to use' package for theming apps in
/system/app
/system/framework
AND in /preload/symlink/system/app as well
==> find the package attached.
!!! This is an empty package just to use for Themers and/or normal users (with a bit of knowledge how to use to get the theme flashed correctly on their specific ROM) to put the theming files in the correct folders inside the package !!!
So before you flash a VRtheme (such as Kalagas Theme), make sure where the apps are on your ROM before you flash and compare to where the theming actually takes place inside the theming zip!
If you find differences:
ask the Themer to build a package matching your ROM
or build your own package using the package attached (just copy/paste stuff NO rocket science )
I just made Kalagas theme ready for my deodexed ROM to ensure all apps are themed correctly....will upload later on in my thread.
Let me be the first to thank you :good:

Ultimate uses the same structure as my deodexed ROM....I am right now uploading newest Kalagas theme matching eybee1970 deodexed and also Ultimate v5.2
EDIT: find DL-Link in Kalagas-theme-Thread now
Thanks for your great packs.
When I started Arman theme project, even didn't know how to make a flashable zip but having great developers I could manage to make my own package and now using this Template would ease me to put my files in.
Just one question which may be relevant;
Is there any script that can first delete any app for the zip which is going to be flashed afterward?
For example first deletes the SystemUI.apk in preload and/or system folder and then the zip containing modded SystemUI.apk can be flashed.

maybe I didnt clarify it properly.
What I mean is the script deletes the app first whether it's in preload or system and then flash one single pack to locate the app or a group of apps in system or preload folder instead of preparing two or several zips for different roms.

ah, got you now
if you would do that (no matter if possible or not...), would mean to change the structure of the ROM...so if ROM-cook releases updates to a app that was formerly in /preload but you changed it to /system (or vice versa), that would ultimately fail...no Themer really wants that I guess
EDIT: or you did mean the script detects first where the app is located, then it gets themed and is put back right in the place it was before? That would be interesting...
EDIT2: the funny thing is, that this universal theming method was made to make theming easy regardless which ROM the theme is put on...now with all that /system and /preload stuff it gets complicated again

Yeah, you got me. Your first assumption is what I meant. Yeah you are right. I was wrongly thinking about my side. The fist edit you made seems wise if that specific script can be made that way actually. Since then modder got trouble by making at least two pack for different roms.

So I will aks the themers to give permission and upload then (or not, if I get a 'NO'):

you have to look inside the theming zip and the folders in SecContacts.apk (and also other apps!)....some have to be renamed to succesfully flash the icons, cause the naming (due to resolution on other devices such as S3 or Note2) is different...just compare with folder naming inside original apks and find the solution

Hi Guys,
Finally I am ready with first part of My first Theme, based on Crysis revolution.
But I have made additional changes also to make it more colourful.
I am calling it as Ultimate-Bule-tripin
This theme will only work on I9003 -XXKB3. Tested on deodexed rom, but should work with non-deodexed rom also(Not tested by me, confirmed by one user here)
Use it at your own risk, I am not responsible if you brick your phone.
This release is Part-I: The first part consists of changes to the Framework files only. I have also themed applications, which I will release as I fine tune them and consider worthy for release. So Dont get confused, if after flashing you do not have all that you see in screen shot.
Features of the part-I
1% Battery indicator
Fly In and Flip Mix (ApeX) Animations -To activate animations goto Menu>Settings>display>All animations
Blue Unlock screen
Transparent pull down bar
Colourful themed Menu
Transparent glowing background
Themed Status bar Music widget and Quick Widgets for GPS, Bluetooth, wifi etc.
Much more.....
Flash it to feel it.
You can use root explorer or adb to replace the two framework files in /system/framework/
If you want to use fonts, the fonts folder should be replaced in /system/fonts
The screen shots also contains tiny battery MOD which is a separate MOD with only difference in Battery indicator s not enclosed.

Update 16.06.11
Ultimate-Blue-tripin-Vanilla unlock screen MOD
Requirements:
-XXKB3 FW
-Deodexed framework is mandatory
This version is with Vanilla unlock screen - Many users wanted to have Vanilla unlock screen. This is in update zip format to be used with the Modded stock (3e) recovery by skin, so that you can flash it easily. Download it and place it on root of your SDCARD (do not put it inside any folder). rename it as update.zip. Now switch off your phone and simultaneously press Vol. up+Home and power on button, till you see the first screen and leave the keys, wait till recovery screen appears. Now select the update zip option and wait the phone to reboot. You are done.
If you do not have this recovery you can also use root explorer or equivalent to replace those files.
Please do this at your own risk

Thats what I did.
Root Explorer - click on Mount - Copy - Paste - Overwrite - Yes
Then there was an error message that there was no space on memory.
Delete useless applications from phone memory if you do not have enough internal memory but its rare, bcoz the files need hardly 10mb space.

In my /system/framework, there is no "framework-res.apk" file. There is "framework-tests.jar", "framework-tests.odex", "framework.jar" and "framework.odex". I have "twframework-res.apk" and "twframework.jar".
What should I do. Do I backup these files first? If something happens, any way of copying these back to the memory from PC?
This is like a live organism without vital organ. phone can not run without this file. You have to have this file. Paste it any ways, but check properly you area in system/framework folder. Us, its a good idea to back up before that. But what will you back up if u do not have that file?

Kitchen originally was built for HTC Desire, but now it supports most devices with Android OS.
Kitchen takes files from your rom and adds modifications you choose.
I have no association with this site, just a fan of it =)
With UOT you can customize the notification bar, notification bar icons, boot animation, window animations, and much more!
THIS WORKS WITH ANY 2.2 and 2.3 ROM!
Just an example of what I did to the notification bar icons on Wolfbreak's ROM using this website.

Make a backup before you do this. I am not responsible for what happens to your device. (Tough to mess up =) )
How to use kitchen
1. Go to Kitchen page http://uot.dakra.lt/kitchen/
2. Browse through available mods and choose what you need (press generate preview)
3. Go to File upload section and upload your files or choose rom from kitchen's list (most roms in the list is for HTC Desire) Make sure you do this or you cannot finish your process. I have only seen Trips old 1.5 MIUI ROM and Wolfs 007.1 on the list. Send a request in to UOT Kitchen to add any ROM to the kitchen list.
OR
3. I suggest navigating to your rom, clicking system, then framework, then framework-res(for froyo ROMS only)
For gingerbread ROMS just upload the SystemUI file as well along with the step above.
4. In the same tab you will see "Select flashable zip scripting" Make sure you fill the bubble for "Amend scripting."
Cyanogenmod7 rom: Cyanbread.apk or Androidian.apk or any theme for ThemeChooser (rename as you like it to appear in theme menu)
NOTE 1: if you uploading theme apk - do not upload any other files (you're just wasting trafic, because kitchen will ignore additional files)
NOTE 2: Font packs and Bootanimation do not requires uploading files.
4. Go to Summary section. All choosen mod must be in green background. If there is mod in red background - it means you did not finished it.
press Submit work to kitchen
5. Remember UOT file name. You can wait for a kitchen to cook your request, but after 5min waiting will be stopped (nothing to worry about).
6. Go to Pickup page http://uot.dakra.lt/pickup/ and wait for your file to appear (it can take up to 30min or more)
7. Download UOT zip into SD card of your phone
8. Reboot into xrecovery and flash the UOT zip.
9. Reboot and enjoy =)
IF YOU HAVE ANY TROUBLE, JUST MESSAGE ME AND I WILL BE GLAD TO HELP
Shame you can't use it f eclair roms.

Highlight system files because your uploading Wolfs Rom. Make sure you extract WB-009 Rom into a folder you can navigate to. Then when you have a folder go to the system--->framework---> Then framework res.apk. Then go to upload and then your good =)
Also make sure to highlight in "Amend scripting" instead of "edify scripting"

You should have asked before flashing, sinsce I asume you do not have a backup of your systemUI.apk you will have to flash the whole LP9 Rom to go back to Stock

Use root explorer or any other file explorer that allows you to write over system folder and just remove the file from your phone , and I woul recommend you to use Rocket Rom. The closest to stock just slightly tweaked for performance and gorgeous battery life

Wow that's great thanks for the info it worked! Awesome transparent pull-down now & loving the extra options!
Now say I wanted to change the icons (i.e. I like digital battery theme). Do you know, would it simply involve using a program like 7zip to just go in & swap the images? Or would I have to recompile & sign the zip & stuff?

IT would work if you choose the right pngs and change their names to match exactly the ones in the apks and if they are same size , I have not decompile anything. I am waiting for eybee197p to help me with that. But even without decompiling and recompiling It works OK

This is probably because I'm using stock, but the iPhone-style clock ( )in the middle of the status bar is interfering/overlapping with status bar notifications. Like I just updated a market app & when I got the status bar "app successfully updated" it overlapped with the clock. Any fix?

Not from me, it is the price you have to pay for having it centered. Not a problem for me though. XML editing is on devs. I only do Photosop and a lot of hours thinking how to fit everything

Odex Rom
You also may try on your rom and update here whether this mod is working on your rom. Make sure to delete related odex file.
Backup your Secsetting.apk and secsetting.odex fbefore you do so.
As per 01 user this is working OdexRom as well
Please note Ink effect option is also available but it won't work.
no offense, but just taking SecSettings.apk from XXLSC is what everyone could have done, right? I know, it is working, but it is from other base...
tbh, I also completely failed in making this mod for XXLSZ...something seriously changed from the way this mod was done before on the leaks...
works on stock LSZ rooted odex.

I idiot thought he really changed LSZ secsettings and just used it as a mod. Never thought of someone would claim a Mod by copying an old Settings apk. Grrrh...
I will switch to making the mods by myself to be sure - and if I really need the mod.
I've been working on this since yesterday.
I have a working rom with lockscreen shortcuts working now. The stock rom didn't have lockscreen shortcuts for me sadly. I'm pretty sure I have it figured out. I should be able to shed some light on these features and how to get them working later... just need to do a little more testing.

ThaiDai,
Actually this is not my mod. even i don't know how to create mods since i'm not expert. This is the SecSetting.apk copied from LSC rom. I cheched each and every options against LSC setting with LSZ & LM5. there are no changes. Eventually i thought that we can use this Secsetting to enable Lockscreen short and smart rotation, until a developer prepare base form LSZ. or we have really consider modding an Secsetting in future if Sammy added any new options into setting
Thanks

Nothing of this is stated in your OP. So a reader gets the impression that you modded it for XXLSZ yourself.
So please correct this in OP - or delete it completely because there is no own work here.
This works fine after deleting the help file and its odex also...
Question- what is changed from this and the official version? (If known by anyone)

Are you able to push the .apk? I've deleted .odex, but now it fails while copying the file from OP. Currently i don't have the settings menu at all.
For me it copies around 10mb and after that it either fails or the file stays as incomplete ...
I freed some space.

Lol.
1. download aroma file manager on your pc (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646108)
2. reboot to recovery mode
3. mount usb
4. copy over the SecSettings.apk and aromafm.zip to your SD card
5. use aroma file manager to move your apk to the right location
6. reboot

10MB is not sufficient to push Secsetting in to System/app. Delete some Samsung bloatware such as Chaton or delete some live wallpaper (Ocean weather, Aurora etc..)

these icons are originally by itiskonrad from the att thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2275858
I ported these to a Universal Flash Tool zip, to cleanly morph/mod AOSP, GE and TW roms.
the zip will create a UNDO zip on your sdcard

I put it in a UFT zip and edited file names to be compatible with more than just one single TW rom for a single device. Now thanks to my help with his original work, it is compatible with AOSP, TW and GE roms for any device. not to mention VRthemes (like the other guy posted) are only good for CWM or TWRP. there are separate VRtheme templates for each. eww. my UFT is compatible with both cwm and twrp, and all 3 rom types on any xxhdpi device.

Eww flash the undo zip on your sdcard
Dear friends,
First thanks to TRusselo for its nice work.
I see some people have problems with this theme. I think that coming from the fact that the MOD is a VR themes, and some mods are not possible with this kind of project. The advantage of it is that they are universal, but they can only patch resources like icons/pictures and sometime its not enough.
If you study the original MOD, you will see that the author also work on layout XML files (signal_cluster_view) which are compiled for a particular ROM so they cannot be used in a VR mod. You won't be able to have the "stacked" signal icons that way from original SystemUI.
The problem of the battery is the same : some systemUi have been changed by ROM makers to extend the original behaviour (animated charge battery ...). We can see in the icons directory that the icons are patched in the drawable-xhdpi resource directory while most of the SystemUi use drawable-xxhdpi directory and tw_stat_sys_battery_xxxx file names.
For all those reasons I'm afraid that the only way to achieve the original MOD with all its feature is to rebuild the original files and to replace them on ROMS. I've done it for me, I will try to share a version for latest TW roms.

Is there a way to enable activity indicator for the wireless ?
Also I'm unable to have the battery icon. Think it is caused by gravity box
Also tried the UNDO zip.. and it fails

its not a VRtheme zip, its a Universal Flasher Theme zip. 2 different but similar methods. and with both, it doesnt work with ANY rom but, also can..
there are some TW roms that this does work on, others not, works better with AOSP and GE roms, but there's one or 2 they dont. Subtle differences break functionality. Some custom TW roms have the stacked icons incorporated already, and allows this to work. other roms have no send/receive icons at all, and yes some xposed modules take over icons.
