we can play HQ on cm9 n cm10 but HD not cuz of 600mhz cpu
Sent from a chocolate cake.

My old n79 played VGA videos(at 30 fps). It had 380mhz processor without GPU. Android sucks at utilizing the resources to the extreme....

Vga =640*480 = 307200 pixels
HD = 1920*1080 = 2073600 pixels
Our display hvga = 320*480 = 153600
HD = 13.5 x HVGA
So playing hd videos doesn't make any sense first of all as our display doesn't have that many pixels so it just can't display them!
You mean to play 13.5 times bigger video than our display!
Sent from my HTC Explorer A310e using xda premium

Dude first of all HD=1280x720. And fullHD=19xx x 1080. Display ain't a problem to play videos(although you won't enjoy that much viewing) but those x264 lib files ported to android lacks support for 200. I thought there might be some software workaround (from MX...) but instead of waiting can't we port libs from nexus one.
Also is there any way to disable deblocking while decoding???

It makes sense when you are not around computer and wanna download movies off torrents directly and watch them. Also xperia mini, Walkman all had hvga displays and watching HD videos was good 'xperiance'.

Vertical Wallpaper

Since out phone is more vertical how can I pick a picture as my wallpaper vertically? I hate how they make it horizontal because it stretches it. I'm using MIUI if that helps. Please help.

I make my own... wall paper is 960 X 800, but I'll Center the image I want.
Usually I'll make the "image" about 480 X 800 and then paste it dead center into the 960 X 800. No More stretch. Kinda sux to have to do tho.....And of course almost no images are created equal which means playing with the image...alot....
Damn that's for that!

(Q) Checking video resolution

So u just installed the HTC sensation camera and recorded in 1080. It recorded smooth with ease. How do i check to see if it really recorded in full 1080?

Transfer the video to your PC and check the video there. Right click Properties then the last tab.
Where did you find the camera at, I quickly glanced the development section and couldn't find it. Plus I am on the mobile App and the search function sucks...

[Q] Wallpaper Question 480 x 800 not Fullscreen?

Guys why does 480 x 800 Resolution Wallpaper won't go Fullscreen?
whenever I add a Wallpaper with this Resolution it asks me to Crop it now it can only display a part of it. Is this really how it should be?
Do you have the ROM virtuous unity?
I've got that problem too.

Anyone know of any hd wallpaper apps that can be used on our phones? I downloaded the Background HD Wallpaper app but the wallpapers don't look high res when you apply them.

Yes.. This happens because we have a separate chip for GPU.. So we get 600MHz processing power, for the phone, and a separate 200 MHz for graphincs.. Whereas most other phones in this price range have an ~800 MHz processor, but its one chip for both CPU/GPU.. So they cant perform as well as Explorer..

Oh you forget 512 mb ram of explorer. If it had 2gb internal memory, it is best phone in this price range.
