[q] cm 10.1 m2 - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Is anyone running the new CM 10.1 M2? I would like to know what minor issues the rom has and it's overall performance. Also if I have to download the latest g- apps to flash with it.

camera on m2
is the camera fully functional?

Amazing camera. Fully functioning Granted I've been a alpha tester for the ROM since its inception with no camera for a bit. However I'm very happy with h8rifts work. +I'm a cm fanboi.

FYI, I am up and running on CM10.1 M2 on my HTC One XL too.
No problems so far that I've seen...everything seems to be working. As mentioned above, camera works really well too.

For some reason I couldn't get the screen to turn back on after locking the screen. The capacitive buttons would light up but that's it. Switched to rohans aokp and everything is good. But I was expecting standby battery life to be better. After 9 hours and only 20 min of screen time and batter was down to 60%

The mic was messed up for me. Couldn't make any voice commands. I think the photosphere didn't work on the camera either

I'm using it I had a few issues but all is fixed and its working pretty good no issues so far

Works well for me too. As someone said that the voice command for texting was broken, mine was too. After another wipe/flash it worked just as it well as it could. Only other bug that I encountered was that my lock screen freezes... but that's just old news. I love it overall.

Gave up on it. Nobody's willing to teach me how to get started with building kernels.. so all I'm doing is kanging stuff for my personal use... Taking mods and tweaks from other aosp roms for the OneS and EVO and injecting them into these evita nightlies. As soon as I get a new computer it's on bro. I'm about to order a nexus but I'm keeping my XL to learn how to dev so I can hopefully try to contribute to the development community

The latest nightlies have everything working aside from audio playback (as far as I can tell). Then again, I have been experiencing crashes while streaming podcasts/music since the 8/19 build. I don't mind because CM10 is just too awesome to go without, but consider waiting for your switch until the issues are resolved. With how amazing these devs are I wouldn't be surprised if the kinks were worked out by the end of the week!
This merge upstream can create new bugs but in the end it's huge. Serious win for h8 and all of the XL community

[Q] Can't get PHOTOSPHERE to work on HOXL

Yea first post, I expect to get trolled or flamed but I can't find this anywhere. pretty new to the custom roms and stuff but rooted and flashed for the first time last week. After trying iono 4 or 5 different roms settle on Rebel Codename-Android- ver3.6.5. Ireally want teh 4.2 camera saw a vid on youtube by team nocturnal and his camera worked jsut fine for the one xl. I can't get it to work at all. I've tried this om cm10 and the king kang mod and the codename mod. Anyone know how to fix this or get it working? Kind of tired of rearranging my apps after reflashing.
**EDITED** I've gotten the camera working just fine but can't get photosphere to work, I understand it's a gyro issue just hoping this topic edit will bring up a possible solution anyone has stumbled on.

Its a known issue with newer XL's that photosphere doesn't work because of a different gyroscope.

I was thinking calibrating the g sensor would help but I cant even find the option after getting off the stock ROM
I actually just read that it's due to the fact that there are two types of One XL gyroscopes, one type is just a normal gyro, but the other uses two, and CM devs didn't know that apparently, so it works on the ones with a normal gyro but not ours I guess. That's what I heard.

AOKP is good too, but it's behind CM10 in development. Most of the other custom ROMs seem quite amateurish and unpolished, no offense to the developers.

2wire Router workaround?

Anybody found a way to get a JellyBean based ROM to connect to a 2wire router? I'm new to rooting and haven't gone through with it yet as this is a big deal for me. I'm looking for a JB rom that just works all around and is pretty stable. Customization isn't really important, I'll probably keep using Nova Launcher anyways. Being incompatible with a 2wire router seems to be the common problem on the JB roms I've read up on.
Any help appreciated
CleanROM JellyBean is probably your best bet. Use that and the 3.17 wireless radio.

Oh okay. I found a thread with a bunch of download links for radios for our phone. You said 3.17, so I'm to assume that the ATT 2.20 radio isn't referring to the firmware number the phones running on? Just trying to make sense of all of this haha, I thought the drivers for everything was the kernel.

So it's non Sense based roms that have the wifi issues? I don't mind Sense all that much, and I'll end up using Nova Launcher anyhow so I guess it's just wasted space on the phone which is fine. A rom will save me all the bloatware which will be nice.

Give me one second to go write this on the computer. Find out what bootloader you have in the meantime. Turn phone off, press power button and hold it while holding volume down until a screen loads up.
On that screen it should say hboot 1.09 or something to that effect.

No matter which radio I'm on I always have the worst time trying to connect tomy 2 wire ..always takes 30 mins
Which roms (if any) have you had success with for getting your 2wire to connect in a reasonable time? I'm assuming a Rom has to be designed for certain radios or the other way around?
I've definitely got some googling ahead of me, I always thought that AOSP was like android it self, so everything would be AOSP based?

ViperXL

Hello everyone, I'm Edward. You can call me Eddy.
So today I just rooted my phone. Before I had an Android, I had an iPhone. I jailbroke that and loved it. I was quite hesitant before rooting my One X. Didn't want to screw anything up. Though today, I really needed to change my carrier text on my phone. It got really annoying. So I had then went about to rooting my phone and although there were a few ups and downs, I must say I don't regret doing it.
Anyways, I tried almost everything after I rooted my phone to change my carrier text but nothing worked... until I posted a thread and a member told me or showed me about ViperXL. I read through the whole thread and I installed it the next minute.
I must say after around an hour of using this, I am totally in love with it. It has all the extra features and customizations I needed for my One X.
I must say, great job Team Venom for creating Viper XL. I am in love. Anyways, great job and keep up the great work! :good:

Tell me about it.
I went through hell on my last flash as I wanted a really good backup with accurate last modified dates. Using MTP, FTP, etc all screw that up.
In the end I found an app called "Samba Filesharing" that, as the name indicates, provides a Windows file share on your network. I then just copied off the SDCARD. While it takes a while, it allowed me to an accurate backup.
Been running ViperXL for a few weeks now. It is awesome. Many thanks to Team Venom.

Tried viper xl 3.2.5, and was very impressed, but flashed back to 2.4 after fighting with MTP and hating it. Any chance we will be able to have USB mount back in a future update of the JB version?

I hear you! Thats driving me crazy. :crying:
I've been running Viper XL for quite awhile now. I love the sheer amount of customization you can do with it. Plus the OTA updates are the icing on the cake.
