2wire Router workaround? - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Anybody found a way to get a JellyBean based ROM to connect to a 2wire router? I'm new to rooting and haven't gone through with it yet as this is a big deal for me. I'm looking for a JB rom that just works all around and is pretty stable. Customization isn't really important, I'll probably keep using Nova Launcher anyways. Being incompatible with a 2wire router seems to be the common problem on the JB roms I've read up on.
Any help appreciated

CleanROM JellyBean is probably your best bet. Use that and the 3.17 wireless radio.

I think only AOSP roms have this issue.

I haven't heard the term "radio" yet, I guess I've got some more reading to do haha

Just think of it as a driver for your wireless/wifi on your phone.

I've been plagued with WiFi issues so much I went to sense roms for the last few months. Until h8 came along with CM10.1, it seems as though the WiFi issues are better. Not perfect, but a damn big improvement

Oh okay. I found a thread with a bunch of download links for radios for our phone. You said 3.17, so I'm to assume that the ATT 2.20 radio isn't referring to the firmware number the phones running on? Just trying to make sense of all of this haha, I thought the drivers for everything was the kernel.

So it's non Sense based roms that have the wifi issues? I don't mind Sense all that much, and I'll end up using Nova Launcher anyhow so I guess it's just wasted space on the phone which is fine. A rom will save me all the bloatware which will be nice.
Which ROM/Kernal/radio are you running?

Give me one second to go write this on the computer. Find out what bootloader you have in the meantime. Turn phone off, press power button and hold it while holding volume down until a screen loads up.
On that screen it should say hboot 1.09 or something to that effect.

No matter which radio I'm on I always have the worst time trying to connect tomy 2 wire ..always takes 30 mins

Which roms (if any) have you had success with for getting your 2wire to connect in a reasonable time? I'm assuming a Rom has to be designed for certain radios or the other way around?
I've definitely got some googling ahead of me, I always thought that AOSP was like android it self, so everything would be AOSP based?

So I've decided to go ahead and root my phone and apply the setup you are running. Just wondering, will CleanRom work out of the box without flashing new radios and kernels? I'm new to this so was hoping I could do it it steps rather than all at once so I could pin point were I went wrong easier.

[ROM]-Stock 1.55.531.3 Rooted, Deodex -- REMOVED DUE TO KANG :O

KANG - To steal or a stolen code when referring to programming. Also can refer to leaked coding.
Due to the copious amounts of kanging that now happens in regards to android development I will be pulling all of my links and changing the original posts with this. If you would like to use my roms please feel free to find the kanged version elsewhere.
For inspiring developers, rtfm or ask someone who knows what they are doing before you steal someone elses work, look at someones code and get the general idea. If you port or use something as a base, credit that person. Do not just link back to the thread where you got it from. My email is [email protected] so feel free to ask questions, if I know the answers I will be willing to assist.
I don't wish to call anyone out but I will say there are a few roms, specifically for MT4G Slide that have been kanged. One of which was taken from me, another was a kanged version of CM7 which was just the Settings.apk SettingsProvider.apk and Launcher.apk replaced. CM7 is framework edits, not just a list of apps an entire team works on. You cannot just replace apps in CyanogenMod and expect it to work thus the reason some parts of the Settings.apk force close. Its not hard to be an idiot but its even easier to spot bull**** work, do yourselves a favor, leave xda, leave rootzwiki, leave whatever thread you are on and learn from people who know what the fk they're doing.
If my email fills with hate mail, then fine, at least what I did I feel was right and do not have to worry about my development being taken and rebadged, if I'm out of line then have a moderator delete and close my thread. Thanks!
Mainly because we are looking for s-off... Good work though

I know Daniel60104's ROM does have the unsecure boot.img, not sure on this one.
On a side note, has anyone tried flashing the radio update that accompanied this release? I know that radio is a no-go for older ROMS, but since it was designed with this release, no word yet how it works with a rooted ROM.
Anyone noticed battery life improvement on this stock version? I've been using this for a week now and I can say there's a big difference compare to the older version. I am using the non-debloat (stock). Another thing is I have yet to experience the random warm battery issue that I've been experiencing from older stock based roms.

I have noticed much better battery performance with this stock ROM, as well. I'm using Daniel's stock, rooted ROM, and I ran Bloater to take out the things I didn't want (like TMobileTV, TeleNAV, QIK). This ROM runs very quick, smooth. I'm still wondering about the newer radio, though I'm hesitant to flash it because I can't afford to screw up this phone. This is my ONLY phone, it has to work.

Given that I'm running 1.55.531.3, S-OFF and rooted, with the original stock radio, and everything is working splendidly (wi-fi, bluetooth, camera, gps, etc.), I'm not gonna mess with it for now.
I'm interested to see what HTC comes out with since they halted the 1.55.531.3 OTA update due to "performance issues". When they restart, I wonder if it will be a different version, for instance.

Well them performance issues can and will be addressed asap, its all about tweaking the ROM, we had major Sense reloads on the evo shift so we learned to allocate more memory here rather than there, and once a ROM was odexed/scripted/opted they flat out flew.

[Q] dumb question regarding porting

since our atrix 2 used only one referance in the build.prop for the radio and the new leaked sgII ics firmware also does and is already [email protected] is it posibul that it can be ported to our phone?
It doesn't matter how many references there are in the build.prop it has to be the same antenna. I don't think the sg2 has the same antenna as the Atrix 2.

no not one for ics, but they already have ics roms that work for that one and it also works on the asian and our mb865 it is a little buggy as it does not like to turn the radio back on every once in a while after I put it in airplane mode and needs to be restarted as it tends to hang when it does that but over all it works very good

I can't find a stable ROM so far....

First time rooting my HOX (ATT) and so far I've tried AOKP and MIUI....neither of them can get me where I want to be. the latest MIUI barely lets me get into the OS before a bunch of force closes. AOKP I can get in just fine, but I can't do much if I can't get to the play store.
Any assistance on these two?
And I guess you'll tell me to go to their respective forums for assistance? I figured I'd tie em in together.

By clean install they mean wipe everything (caches and system) before flashing.
Also, make sure you're using TWRP, not CWM, as your recovery, as the latter has been known to cause random problems on the One X.

Are you on AT&T? The AT&T icons essentially lied and always said you were getting 4G even though you might be on 3G / H. Most ROMs put a more honest icon there so it'll only read 4G if you're ACTUALLY on 4G.
If you're in a 4G area and think you should be getting 4G, that's a different issue

Do you have LTE in your area or only HSPA? I think the Sense ROMs show '4G' for both LTE and HSPA, AOSP ROMs show 'H' for HSPA.

Well there is no best ROMs. It is all preference. Also, saying what is the best ROM is against the rules. I suggest looking in the development sections and scrolling thru. No one here is going to tell you what to flash. If you like viper just five it go. If you want clean ROM then flash it.
A perfect example is the fact I stopped liking sense, but you may still want to stick with it. Get my point?

Ok, so for some reason I can't get hot reboot to work on any rom anymore. I've tried a couple sense roms, and an aosp rom. I'm currently back on viper 3.2.8.
Every time the shell restarts, it gets stuck at the boot animation. I'll attach a logcat with all the relevant info. BTW, this just started happening right after I ruu'd for 4.2 roms. Also I can flash another rom and get another logcat if it'll help. Not really an issue, just weird..
Any reply is appreciated, thanks.
