Maybe you want some of them.
When you send a picture by WhatsApp, the program copy the file into Images folder and then, it send the image.
If you open Gallery app, you will see two copies of the same picture, one on DCIM, for example, and other on WhatsApp Images folder.
Would you like to have a copy of each picture you send?
And, the most interesting point: in my case I receive a lot of funny images and videos that I don't want to see them on Gallery app.
I can delete all of them with a click on a simple and little app (300kb).

I'm studying it, but I think these thumbnails are not saved (I don't know if we are talking about the same pics).
If you share a picture selecting it from chat layout, there is a folder "recent" where are shown the last images you shared, but they are not saved (at least in a visible folder).
I'll check it!
Thank you

Thank you for this app, i have 5 groups on my whatsapp and 2 of them are image spammers, so in like 3 days i have 1k Pics, now browsing through them to delete the ones i don't like in my gallery (18+) is a PIA, do i thank you!

So, why should I use this app, as modern web browsers have already implemented a "share" function for sending URLs to friends?

Yes, and that's exactly what you can do by clicking the "share" button of your browser Sending the URL to your friends, so they can have a look at the web page or download the content.

Nope!
Excellent!
Just one downside: It is kind of hard to find a picture that is not a recent one. Maybe a good way to solve it is to adding a "share to... InstaWide" that would allow to select the pic to be edited from another app like the stock gallery, the file browser, whatsapp... making it easier.
Thanks! great idea and well accomplished. Regards!
Bug found
I wanted 4 squares from a 7798x1764 which result in 4x1949x1764 that are not squares. It is interesting that the app full this gap with solid colour pixels. Moreover the bug includes not alignment of the resulting frames add can be seen on the attached screenshot.
Regards!
The alignment problem still present using three squares what should not have the gaps. Screencast of the process: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ex647b0176urz1b/v.mp4?dl=0

Sent. I added a second pic that was well processed the second time of 5 tries so I think is not the the main idea of the algorithm you used just maybe a buggy line or something random or even my phone (new Honor 8).
Could you add feature to select from a gallery app. Some pictures are buried away and scrolling takes too much time.
Sent from my Lenovo X3a40 using XDA Labs
For me it is not a useful application. When you select "square" option, crop the image in square format and cut the original too much both above and below and is supposed to be the ideal format for instagram. Of course, if you select "rectangle", it will be Instagram who will take care of trimming, with which we are in the same as in the beginning.
Could not that be solved?
Thank you very much. Regards

[APP] Picture Manager - Rename pictures with a timestamp and organize to folders

What is Picture Manager?
Some manufactures like HTC and Sony (probably some more) save pictures taken with an incremented number in the filename, instead with a timestamp like other manufactures do.
When you factory reset your device, buy a new device or clean flash a custom rom, the camera picture counter gets reset and starts with e.g. IMAG_00001 again.
This can be an issue once you backup your files to a harddrive on your PC, because you will have duplicate filenames, although the pictures are actually different.
Picture Manager solves this problem by renaming your taken pictures with a timestamp format that you can select or even define yourself.
You can either start a batch process before you backup your pictures to your HDD, or automatically let Picture Manager rename your files in the background.
Another nice feature Picture Manager offers is that you can let it organize your taken pictures into folders that are named by the year, month and even day.
That will help you to quickly find your pictures again and brings some organization into you pictures.
Requirements
You have to be on at least Android 5.0 Lollipop
How does it work
Picture Manager relies on the EXIF Metadata that is stored into each picture. The EXIF Metadata contains a lot of information, the one Picture Manager needs is the date the picture was taken.
With that information Picture Manager can reliably rename and organize your pictures.
Tasker Plugin
Picture Manager comes with a Tasker Action Plugin. That means that you can start a batch process on different events, like time, when usb gets connected etc.
Premium features
If you want to use the custom format, background service or the Tasker plugin you need to upgrade to the premium version.
To upgrade you can use an in app purchase. Or you paypal me and I mail you a premium code. That way google doesn't get 30% of the income.

FAQ
Q: What about videos?
A: Picture Manager can also handle mp4 recorded videos.
Q: What about other manufactures than HTC and Sony?
A: I just know about those two that use an incremented number in their filename. If you know more, let me know. If your files are already timestamped you can still use the organizer to move your files into timestamped folders.
Q: After using the organizer I have sometimes missing files in my gallery?
A: Use the media scanner built in Picture Manager to make those files visible.
Q: Will the background service drain a lot of battery?
A: Picture Manager makes use of Androids JobSheduler, like Google Photos and Amazon Photos instant upload and is very battery friendly. When checking GSAM stats, it is nearly at the very bottom of the list.
