[Q] Video playing problem on Android 4.11 - General Questions and Answers

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum, this is my first thread.
I am in trouble with my tablet which is Onda v811.
I am having a video playing issue since I have updated my tablet to version 4.11 (on android 4.03 there wasn't a problem). Everything is perfect but the videos. When I want to play videos on browser (Dolphin, generally) or official Youtube app videos opening, playing but it is very small for the screen size. I make the video fullscreen but nothing changes. So, videos are opening, there is no problem with this but aspect ratio is not keeped and uses 1 of tenth of the screen, as I tried to show in the photo below.
Photo is not good but I drew lines to explain myself better.
White lines in the photo, marks the tablet's outer lines and screen. Inner yellow line surrounds the video. This is how a video looked on my tablet:

I had uninstalled Adobe Flash Player and installed again (ver. 11.1) but didn't help. Searched the entire web but found nothing.
Has anyone got an idea about this problem? Any help is appriciated.
My English is not so good, sorry for that. I tried to explain, I hope i succeeded.

[Q] Videos can be really small

So, for a frame of reference, my last Android device had a screen 5", but 800x480 resolution. The Nexus 5's resolution completely blows it away.
That said, I've noticed something with regard to videos being played using the default video player (I'm not even sure if it has a name). I tried watching some videos from the Engadget App (which, to the best of my knowledge, relies on the default video player to play videos), and to my surprise one of the videos was showing up about the size of a postage stamp. A different video showed up a little larger, but neither scaled up to the full space. I opened both videos up on my old Android and they ran full screen just fine.
My current guess is that the Nexus 5 has a higher screen resolution than the video it's trying to play back and it's playing the video at a 1:1 ratio. Any ideas on what might be able to fix this, or should I sit tight and wait for an update?

[Bug] Weird ASS karaoke colors

Device Manufacturer & Model : Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5" (SM-T805)
Android Version : 4.4.2
Rom Info : Happens both on stock 4.4.2 and CF-Auto-Root by Chainfire. (KOT49H.T805XXU1ANFB)
Detailed Problem Description : See below.
Steps to reproduce the problem : See below.
In many videos with ASS karaoke effects, the karaoke effect colors get really weird (almost look inverted) on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5" (SM-T805). (I am however unable to replicate this on a Sony Xperia Tablet Z.)
This happens both with hardware acceleration (for drawing) on and off, speedup tricks on and off, and regardless of color mode (both on RGB-16, RGB-32 and YUV). SW decoder is used (the videos are 10-bit encodes).
One weird detail: if I pause with YUV, the still image still contains the color artifacts, but if I pause with RGB-16 or RGB-32 the color artifacts disappear on the still image (but return once I start playing again).
For some reason screenshots always turn out artifact-free, so I've taken some photos instead (see attached pictures). Again, it happens in a lot of (but not all) videos with karaoke effects, but these particular photos are from the intro (starting at 0:40) of:
[DameDesuYo] Junketsu no Maria - 05 (1280x720 10bit AAC) [2708C967].mkv
DDL link can be found here: damedesuyo.com/?page_id=6757
edit: Attached log. Moreover, it seems that if an ad is being displayed, the color artifacts remain even when paused with RGB-32, see newly attached even weirder photo 5.

It looks like due to the way subtitles rendered.
We are going to add alternative rendering mechanism in the future.

Can not Crop video - ONLY Stretch - Amlogic S812 Android TVbox and SONY AndroidTV

Dear All,
I just bought an Amlogic S812 the Android TV box to replace the old one (Allwiner A31s Android TVbox)
Currently when watching movies with the software MXplayer , it can not Crop the Screen Size to remove black place on top and bottom of screen, it only can use Stretch option to stretch vertically, does not stretch horizontally, so making everything in movies stretch out :crying:
I do not experience this problem on older devices using Allwiner A31s chip.
Pls help me fix this issue
P/S: I face this issue on SONY Bravia 55X9000C Android TV too.
Thank you all.
Anybody??
Same issue with the newest s905x3 chipset, Android 9.0... I don't have all the options in my settings, I can't even place apps on homescreen using Nova Launcher, I can't see the bottom drawer to open all running apps. Do manufacturers modify the Android version they put on these boxes? Is there a way to fix these issues, especially the video player cropping? In my box no player can crop, only stretches vertically, leaving me with an incorrect aspect ratio.
Hi everyone.
This may be a solution.
I get to realise that this thread has a long history and there is no proper answer.
I too had the same problem while using MX player in Android tv. But some video are able to crop view. After many thoughts I get to realise that there are two kind of popular encoding in mkv format.
Videos encoded in H.264 have no problem. But if it is H.265 commonly known as HEVC it will no crop or zoom in.
I currently use H.264 video for maximum use of my tv screen.
Please Google these encoding method for better understanding. There are some interesting comparison between two.
Happy watching

Problem with Full-screen Video Playback

Hello everyone,
I just recently switched from a HTC U11 to this wonderful MI 10 Pro and I couldn't be happier.
There's just one little thing that I realized and I don't know where I did something wrong in my settings or if it's a ROM issue.
Whenever I watch a Video in full screen, the phone kinda cuts off the sides (probably to fit in the full screen instead of putting a black bar over/under the video).
I find this quite annoying because I'm sometimes missing out on important information that's sometimes written on the screen.
This happens with all apps I tried (Instagram/IGTV, YouTube and Kiwi Browser).
Have you experienced that behavior before and how did you solve it?
I attached a Screenshot on how it actually looks like.
EDIT: I'm on MIUI Global 11.0.10.0
Have you tried pinch to zoom out?

Pinch to zoom only works on YouTube and only on horizontal videos. Not working on Instagram at all, Browser at all or on vertical videos on YouTube ?
Are there any settings somewher in the system that I need to check?
