are you S-OFF?
also do you mean to flash a gb rom or returning to the official GB by using a ruu?

Flash old firmware in bootloader, and then flash a gb Rom.

i assume your bootloader is still unlocked
can you boot your device?
if yes then use this guide to S-OFF again
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1614617
then flash gb firmware from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
follow carefully the instructions and before flashing the firmware check md5 sums
after that flash gb rom

now you are S-OFF there is no need to unlock the bootloader again
you are fully unlocked(S-OFF)
but because you used a ruu you aren't rooted now
you have to root again(if you want) either you don't have now custom recovery

[Q] hboot 1.23

Ahh S-ON, eek.
As Revolutionary won't work, can you use the HTC method to get S-OFF ?
If you can then do the PG58IMG.zip files work from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
I flashed 1.27.1100 over 1.23.0000, then again I was S-OFF.

OK Sorry wrong terminology, I was referring to: http://htcdev.com/bootloader
I know many folks have used the HTC unlock method, I don't know what the limitations with it are as I used Revolutionary. My thoughts were can you use the HTC Unlock process then flash the F/W using PB58IMG.zip back to 1.17 the use revolutionary to get full S-OFF. I don't know if that's possible but ......
I know they keep a record that you've used it on your phone.
no, that doesn't give you s-off, it just unlocks your bootloader, but thanks for trying!

It will not, it still leaves you s off, meaning you can't flash radios, firmwares, etc.

Either that or a new release RUU with hboot higher than 1.23, such as an official ICS RUU that will hopefully be released in March. The test RUUs that are currently available don't work - see here:

How did you flash to 1.27.1100? I have been trying to get my firmware updated so I can get ICS on my Sensation but it keeps giving me the "remote: not allowed" error. I have S-Off.

Flash the firmware from Mike's sticky. 3.24/3.25 gives hboot 1.27.1100, but I think this version is included with later fw releases too.
Does the remote: not allowed error appear in bootloader, relating to a particular part of the fw update - e.g. radio?

You have to wait until it is...

Hi,
Try THIS ONE
Still says wrong image....
My cid num, got with adb, is: VODAP102.
Should I insert it in android-info?
Should I super cid the phone before cwm?
Youre gonna have to unlock your bootloader by using htc's official method (google it). Then youll be able to install CWM and whatever else. There are limitations, theres a good guide in the development section about htc official bootloader unlocker. Read that before attempting.

Yes you will have to use the HTC Dev method right now if you want to flash a custom ICS ROM being as those are the only ones you will be able to flash with the Hboot you have. But know this ahead of time the HYC De. Unlock is very different then the Revolutionary unlock. Click the link in my sig to learn mote about the HTc Dev unlock and what it allows you to do. But if I was you I would just wait until Revolutionary supports Hboot 1.27.0000, or someone comes up with a Hboot downgrade for the Sensation cause the HTC Dev method does not fully unlock all portitions except the radio portition like Revolutionary does. Plus it leaves evidence your bootloader has been unlocked so HTC can say your warranty is void. Check out this post to as it gives a little more insight on HTC Dev unlock.
So to root the device I have to CWM it, to CWM it I need to unlock the bootloader?
But, If not rooted, unlocked nor CWModded, can I just install ARHD?
Ok, let's take it the other way round:
My phone is locked, hboot 1.27.0000, S-on, cid VODAP102 and not rooted, but last official stock ics.
Now I want to install last ARHD, what should I do and how??

To flash AHRD you will have to have a unlocked bootloader, either by HTC Dev method or by Revolutionary method. Now as stated by you, malybru, and myself we all know Revolutionary is not compatible with Hboot 1.27.0000 (as of right now), which your device currently has. So this leaves only the HTC Dev method. Now I personally agree with others here on XDA, I would normally stay far away from unlocking via HTC Dev. But seeing as you bought your Sensation new with Hboot 1.27.0000, you really have no other alternative but to wait for Revolutionary to update or for some other means of unlocking becomes available. Also if you do manage to downgrade your Hboot you will have to use HTC Dev to do it.
Now I am in no way saying you should use HTC Dev, nor am I advocating HTC Dev. I am just trying to inform you. What you do with your device is your choice and your choice only. But what ever you do, please post back here with your decision and if applicable any results.
Also if you was wondering why you have to use HT Dev to downgrade Hboot, read this post. Yeah I know it is for GB ROMs but I imagine the same probably holds true for ICS. I mean it is the HTC Dev unlock that allowsyou to downgrade in that senario. But what do I know.

Sure, exploit H.Boot 1.27.0000 for S-Off is revolution, new model of HTC phone is same like HTC_One
****ing S-ON policy HTC because you total locked us
And that is why HTC always following behind Samsung nowadays
I'm waiting XDA revolution
Hi,
I'm new to this forum and new nothing about rooting until a few days ago...quickly discovered the fact that Revolution does not support 1.27.
I unlocked with HTC DEV, ran recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.0.9-pyramid.img using Fastboot CLI.
After that I backed up my stock Vodafone ICS ROM using CWM then switched to the XDA guide for rooting with su-2.3.6.3 and followed rest of XDA guides for installing a ROM (really useful guides - Thanks!!)
Within an hour I had gone from stock Vodafone ICS to Virtuous Inquisition-v4.0.1
I'll admit I got hooked up on flashing recovery and was given some guidance by a friendly soul but figured the rest out from this forum..

What did you do that it got stuck on hboot or do you mean HTC boot logo
If it's HTC boot logo then there are 2 ways first it is with the ruu and the other is unlock your bootloader on htcdev website and flash custom recovery , in your case with s-on I suggest 4ext recovery with smart flash enabled and just flash a custom Rom with 4ext
S-ON
Vipers 1.6.3
4ext recovery
turbo boost cache swap
Sultan Kernel r14.5
any more idea ? best way if someone help find stock ruu mor my firmware and radio,or how to change my firmware, radio with s-on .thanks.

hi everyone. my sensation is getting me angry for a few week. i can't flash roms or others using fastboot commands cause my device is s-off, but i still have the bootloaader locked. from the command prompt i always obtain the same message "writing boot...failed(remote: not allowed)". first at all, i unlocked my device using HTCdev, after i flashed my first rom i found the bootloader locked. second, i tried to turn my device s-off, but controlbaer crashed, so i didn't complete it, but hovewere i'm s-off. how can it be ??? at now, can i flash roms or other .zip just by recovery (4ext) ?? or how can i unlock again the bootloader ??? hope somebody give me an answer. :good:

Hi,
I am not sure what to suggest.
People who flash this are normally locked and hboot 1.29
It works for them,so it should work for you
I do not think it would do any harm.
Or perhaps you could flash the 1.27 > 1.29 version first.
Then, go 1.29 > 1.27
How did your bootloader become locked?

Flashing a rom via recovery shouldn't change bootloader status. Either you flashed a new firmware, or did an ruu.
Besides, a patched hboot should enable fastboot commands.

Flashing a rom via recovery shouldn't change bootloader status. Either you flashed a new firmware, or did an ruu.

Hi,
It is all explained on the thread.

Other ways to S-OFF besides using Juopunutbear

My HBOOT version is 1.27. For some reason I can't seem to successfully get passed installing the required stock Sense ROM that Juopunutbear requires. Is there any other possible way for to S-OFF if I am on a Kit Kat ROM? Any tools that can S-OFF?
Forgot to add that I am HTC Dev unlocked.

Since I am HTC Dev unlocked, is there any way to get back to stock without flashing a zip? Would I be able to flash an RUU and still maintain my unlocked status?
Sent from my One X using xda app-developers app

No you need to relock your bootloader to flash RUU , but don't worry after you s-off you will flash 3.33 firmware and that will ulock you bootloader and after that flash recovery and do what you wanna do..
Btw why do you need to s-off?

I mainly just want to update to firmware 3.33 Universal (found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767). Can you link me to an RUU that will allow me to S-OFF. I am also assuming that there is no other way to S-OFF besides using Juopunutbear's method?

You can't flash a custom firmware while s-on (it's the reason htc named this state s-on). There's simply no way unless you can pull off JTAG and sh**.
You can get 3.33.xxx.xxx via RUU (only after locking bootloader), but you can't flash 3.33 universal otherwise. If you want to switch carriers, you gotta s-off man.
you can also use the flashable stock rom to install it from recovery
link in my signature
by the way what recovery do you have and why you can't flash the stock rom?

I'm trying to flash the 3.32 ROM located in this how to thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1614617
Every time I flash it I get the white HTC logo and then a black screen until I pull the battery. I am using 4ext recovery.
