Do you mean the camera lens or the screen glass ? (I've heard the latter called a lens glass, too)
Either way, you can replace the part if you want to - replacing the screen is trickier than the camera lens and you should watch some videos and decide if you're comfortable tackling it yourself or if you would rather pay someone else to do it.

Just the lens of the camera

G2X Camera

I'm not sure where I should put this but if anyone has a broken G2X I would like to purchase your camera piece and battery cover. Thanks.
Would've been better in Q&A. But which Camera piece? The actual sensor and lens, or the Lens cover?

Is the camera lens part of the back cover View attachment 1052452

Thought I would ask someone that has one

If it have a glass that yes, or you can buy a camera replacement on ebay for 12$ something. There is a risk.
If the scratch isn't that bad, and you have it around, I'd try a tiny (mustard seed sized) amount of headlight lens restorer and some circular motions.
Failing that, I would say there's a good chance the lens is part of the back cover like you think.
Don't know its a friends kid had in a otter box took it out for some dumb reason seconds later fumbled it here I am asking questions.
Could someone tell if it needs a new camera or just the back cover?.

i'm sure it has, it's a whole back housing, when you take the old housing off , the whole camera housing comes off also , leaving just the camera ship under but just to make sure send them an email.
What's involved to do this minor or major surgery

[Q] Dat protruding camera lense

Hi,
does anybody know what kind of glass is on the camera lense?
It is relatively "out-there" and could be a scratch magnet.
Did any of you lucky people with the phone notice anything?
According to some sources I've seen, its Sapphire Glass.

Dust/damage on camera lens

I am having issues with my rear facing camera.
While ago, my lens cover got broken on a sharp table edge. Bought a new cover and replaced. Had some focusing issues, eventually went away. Now I am having some spots appear on photo when taken. I have taken phone apart and to my best cleaned the camera and lens, nothing seems to fix it though. Makes me think it is not dust.
I ordered a new camera and lens, they are in mail now. Anyone have any experience with this? Please see attached photo for reference.

[Q] problem with fingerprint smearing the camera

I actually really enjoy the camera on this device, but it's giving me some issues I didn't really notice on my s3 probably because I never took pictures at night.
For some reason the glass on the s3 seemed to have an oleophobic coating that resisted fingerprint smudges, but this device doesn't. It leaves oil smudges that create light streaks in night photos. I didn't take a good comparison photo, but I will tonight if anyone doesn't understand what I mean. Once I wipe off the oil smudge then the pictures come out great.
Just wondering if anyone knows of a coating I can apply that is safe for camera glass or a screen protector with an oleophobic property that fits over the camera without distorting the photo.

Why don't you just wipe the lens clean before you use the camera?

Well of course I can do that, but it's annoying to always have to do that, especially when I want a quick picture.
Just looking for more of a innate solution, I'm going to try to cut a round circle off a fingerprint resistant screen protector and see if it distorts the picture.
