[Q] Taking MMS theme to another ROM? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

So I'm using CarbonROM. The messages in mms.apk have a gradient in each one, and the time stamps have a solid background. I know it is little, but whatever.
The mms.apk theme in Rootbox was great. Flat backgrounds, no gradient.
How would I go about taking the mms.apk and its respective theme from Rootbox and put it on Carbon? I already tried extracting the mms.apk from Rootbox and replacing the mms.apk in the system folder in Carbon and fixing permissions - and no dice. Theme remains.

I usually have to rename the Mms.apk file to SecMms.apk to get my custom mms app working on Jellybeans ROM, not sure if this will help..I am still in the learning process of all this awesomeness that is Android

You can use Theme Porter to port another CM6.1 theme to the Evo CM6.1.
I usually use that program if I want to try out some themes that are on the N1 and not for Evo.
I have done it for you (latest Gapps, CM6.1 nightly 163, and CM 6.1 RC1). All you have to do is put the files on the root of the SD card. Boot into recovery. Wipe cache and Dalvik cache (assuming you are already on CM6.1; otherwise a full wipe is necessary if you are coming from any other Rom). Then flash Gapps and either the nightly or RC1. You will also have to put the iNexusBar.xml file inside the CM Theme folder on your SD card.
The iNexusColorBar.xml file is attached as a zip file. Just extract the xml file from the zip.
To select the xml go to Settings > CyanogenMod Settings > User Interface > Tweaks extras > Select a Theme and pick the iNexusColorBar. This will require reboot for effect to take place.
CM 6.1 Nightly 163 with iNexus Theme
CM 6.1 RC1 with iNexus Theme
Latest Gapps 11142010 with iNexus Theme
Edit: I did not use the circle battery version because when I tried that on my Evo, the percent stays at 100 and didn't change even though the battery was draining (confirmed using BattStatt widget)
ok. so he's quicker than me. lol

Wow! Thank you so much! Just curious, what exactly does the gapps theme do? I can't wait to try out that theme creator
Its not a theme maker. Its a theme porter. It takes an already existing theme and ports it to different model phones.

Gapps is the Google Apps that aren't included in the CM roms like Gmail, YouTube, and other apps.
Remember, whenever you flash CM roms, you also flash the Google Apps (Gapps).

Thanks. It works great.
Only problem that I have noticed is that the Music Tabs are off. Does anyone know how to fix that?
EDIT: Nevermind. I fixed it by resizing the png files inside music.apk. Looks great now.
Push it via adb to your /system/app folder
Looks Great! Only thing I noticed is that the inexus theme isn't listed in the themes menu in the cyanogen mod settings. On my Inc, I pushed the .zip, rebooted, selected the theme and rebooted again. After selected the theme the text and clock in the menu turned white. Any ideas here?

you have to unzip the file and place it in the CMTheme folder on your sd card.
Great job. I know this is not in the original theme. But is there anyway to get the gtalk notification icon to look like the icon thats on the home screen instead of the one that is included?

Sorry, I don't know how to do any of that stuff. I just used the Theme Porter to do this.
You might want to open up the gtalk apk and look for the png file and change it to your liking, but I'm not sure how to do that stuff.
Where can I find the theme folder?

[THEME] EB11 Showcase Stock Theme_V2

This is a little something I'm doing to see if this works better than having to do Nandroid Restores if you don't like a theme or it doesnt work just right...
This is still in test mode, I'd like some user feedback on how well it works..
This SHOULD restore your phone to stock AS FAR AS THEME WISE!!!!!
So after you Flash a theme and want to either flash another one or revert back. Try Flashing this...
I've tried to add the stock apps that seem to usually get themed, but You need to use 7zip to look inside the theme that you're wanting to replace and see if i missed one.
If I missed an app that your theme has simply pull it from the picknpack3 and place it in this theme and place it in system/app folder where the other apps are.
I've updated it to include all the apps in the current 3 themes for EB11...
****You can leave both themes zipped while doing this***
Conents
This Does have the accurate battery mod and I'm using the Splash of Color Battery.
It also has the reboot options...
Stock Apps I included are:
Browser
CalendarProvider
Camera
ClockPackage
Contacts
ContactsProvider
DialerTabActivity
Email
Gallery3D
GenieWidget
Gmail
GoogleQuickSearchBox
LatinIME
Mms
MyFiles
Phone
Settings
Swype
Talk
Vending
As Always Wipe Dalvik before flashing..
Flash this at your own risk!!!
Hope it helps to make switching themes a little easier..
Download HERE... Thanks to Phidelt82 for hosting!!!
Ill try it when I go to change themes again. Just put your VAGreen on a few hours ago

cool, just let me know how it works out... I've edited the theme to have all the stock apps that are included for all of the 3 themes that are currently out for EB11 Showcase!!!!
just flashed it on my showcase... it's the circle battery status that changes colors (very nice), not the colored standard status with the percentange in it(also nice) and the reboot options didn't work for me.
Can't wait to try this! unfortunately I can't download from my phone

[App][4.3 / 4.4] Inverted System Apps --- Contacts, Dialer etc.

As a fan of blacked out apps I like to provide what I found for JB and KitKat
I extracted everything from this ROM(s). There you will also find more stuffs like SystemUI, Framework and Settings, but I don't know if more was needed and so I was not in the mood to try...
Feel free to try and post your efforts, I will add the links here.
At least the Dialer need to be flashed, so I took this Universal Flasher and made flashable zips.

Transparent/Bubble Theme CM9 MMS with snake skin background

Here is a modded/themed CM9 mms.apk. This is a modified version of MrDSL's modified CM9 mms apk that can be found here- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1697457
All I did was change the holo theme and set a custom background to it. It also has the bubble theme as well. MrDSL's apk did not support working MMS for this device so I also modified the mm_configuration xml file to get MMS working on our device with this application. If you enjoy this app please go to the above thread and thank MrDSL as 90% of this application is his work.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Download to SD card
Move to /System
Change permissions to:
x
x
Move to system/app
Select yes when it asks you to overwrite
Reboot
Enjoy
**Screen shots** [DOJO] carrier logo and blue colored keyboard no included. If anyone would like my themed blue colored keyboard put a request and I will post the apk.
