[THEME] EB11 Showcase Stock Theme_V2 - Samsung Mesmerize

This is a little something I'm doing to see if this works better than having to do Nandroid Restores if you don't like a theme or it doesnt work just right...
This is still in test mode, I'd like some user feedback on how well it works..
This SHOULD restore your phone to stock AS FAR AS THEME WISE!!!!!
So after you Flash a theme and want to either flash another one or revert back. Try Flashing this...
I've tried to add the stock apps that seem to usually get themed, but You need to use 7zip to look inside the theme that you're wanting to replace and see if i missed one.
If I missed an app that your theme has simply pull it from the picknpack3 and place it in this theme and place it in system/app folder where the other apps are.
I've updated it to include all the apps in the current 3 themes for EB11...
****You can leave both themes zipped while doing this***
Conents
This Does have the accurate battery mod and I'm using the Splash of Color Battery.
It also has the reboot options...
Stock Apps I included are:
Browser
CalendarProvider
Camera
ClockPackage
Contacts
ContactsProvider
DialerTabActivity
Email
Gallery3D
GenieWidget
Gmail
GoogleQuickSearchBox
LatinIME
Mms
MyFiles
Phone
Settings
Swype
Talk
Vending
As Always Wipe Dalvik before flashing..
Flash this at your own risk!!!
Hope it helps to make switching themes a little easier..
Download HERE... Thanks to Phidelt82 for hosting!!!

Ill try it when I go to change themes again. Just put your VAGreen on a few hours ago

cool, just let me know how it works out... I've edited the theme to have all the stock apps that are included for all of the 3 themes that are currently out for EB11 Showcase!!!!

just flashed it on my showcase... it's the circle battery status that changes colors (very nice), not the colored standard status with the percentange in it(also nice) and the reboot options didn't work for me.

Can't wait to try this! unfortunately I can't download from my phone

Can someone show me how I can personally change my top taskbar menu (if it's possible) and where can I find the themes for it?
Thanks.

It all depends what you're actually trying to do?
Just change a color? Change the pull down background? Add quickpanel toggles?
I flashed my phone back to stock rom and I just wanted the taskbar to look like the octane rom that I was running on before.

You can try pulling the framework-res.apk and systemui.apk from octane and replacing them in the appropriate spots in your current ROM as long as the rom you are on is deodexed. But it may,not work. Or, you can replace the .png files using 7zip and then replace those files with your new themed ones (less chance of fc or bootloop). But the second method is a bit more detailed.

i guess not i read a bunch about just getting the theme chooser.apk and uploading that and it is supposed to add an apk to the zip it gives u to download
1. Go to the Kitchen page
2. Browse through the available mods and choose what you want (don't forget to press Generate preview if there is such a button)
3. Go to the file upload section and upload the required files, or choose the ROM you use from the kitchen's list (most roms in the list are for HTC Desire)
Files you need to upload:
Froyo rom: framework-res.apk
Gingerbread rom: framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk
Gingerbread with sense rom: framework-res.apk, SystemUI.apk and com.htc.resources.apk
Cyanogenmod7 rom: Cyanbread.apk or Androidian.apk or any theme for ThemeChooser (rename as you like it to apear in theme menu)<----thats what im using
NOTE 1: if you’re uploading theme apk then do not upload any other files; you’re just wasting traffic, because the kitchen will ignore additional files
NOTE 2: Font packs and boot animation do not require files to be uploaded. If you choose only those mods then you get a download without a queue.
4. Go to the summary section. All chosen mods must have a green background. If there is a mod in red background it means you didn’t finish it.
Press Submit work to kitchen
5. Remember the UOT file name (your order number).
6. Go to the Pickup page and wait for your file to appear (it can take from 5min to 1hr or more)
7. Download UOT zip into SD card of your phone
8. Reboot into recovery
9. Wipe cache and dalvik-cache (just in case). Do not wipe data / factory reset.
10. Flash UOT zip
11. Reboot phone

No. Theme Chooser themes only work with roms that have themechooser integration. Otherwise its a lot of work to port.

Hey Kwes - I have not tried UOT with New Clip because you mentioned themes may break things. Does that also apply to UOT? I wanted to change the color of all the items on the status bar to the hex ICS color. Should that be OK if I do not change anything else?
Or is there a better way to do that?

As long as you use the systemui and framework-res from the rom it shouldn't break anything. But some sketchy edits I made in framework as work a rounds might not let you edit it with uot but you can always try. I'm gonna update soon if I can just get these lock screens right.

Thanks. I will give it a try tonight or tomorrow. I want to make a set of all gingerbread green status bar icons and a set of all ICS blue status bar icons. If it works I will send them to you and you could add them to New Clip (if you want to) as an option for people that want everything matching, but do not want a complete makeover theme.
I just think it looks nice when the battery, clock, signal, wifi, etc match in color. Fond of ICS blue right now. I think I know how to repack it so anyone can use it. I'll PM you later if I get it done.
Edit: Well...that was a disaster. I just changed the status bar icons and added a different battery. Result was a boot loop twice and then a black screen requiring a battery pull. Restored my back up and will give it another try. Maybe a bad file download?

An all new update is just around the corner. Kwes1020 has some magic he is holding back until its right. Old weapon 3.0 works fine with UOT. I am not a real theme guy. I answer easy questions for noobs and piggyback off the hard work of others, but always give credit and thanks to the real guys. If the update does not happen as expected, I will take another stab at it.
I love learning new things and android has become an addiction. If you want to try, read up on topic. Tons of good info out there. UOT is simple to use. The trick is making the zip you create compatable with every one else. There is a mini tutorial in the moonman thread.
My First Time
So I sat for over an hour making my first OUT kitchen Theme if that is what you call it, I am waiting for it to cook as you say.... hope all goes well when I flash it to my stock Gingerbread rom......

[CM9 ICS 4.0] Mods, Themes, Add-ons, Apps etc. support

Created this thread to keep the development side free of spam. And giving some noobs support and confirming what works with this port and what doesn´t.
I´m going to start of with this theme:
5.9.1 Version bootloops use older versions!
I can confirm that this theme is working . It has way better music app layout than the stock music app. Music app now has 3 new and different sized widgets. It also contains 2 extra launchers, Nova and Apex. Both are smooth and ICS lookalike. It also has 1% battery icons.
It is also available as partly blue theme, more like stock ics.
Themed stuff
-Contacts
-Messaging
-Browser
-Gallery
-Camera (well it isnt working with our phone so never mind that)
-Google Play
-Keyboard (DIDNT WORK FOR ME, BUT INSTALLING ALTERNATIVE KEYBOARD WORKED!!)
-Google Talk
-Google Voice
-Email
-Calendar
-YouTube
-Trebuchet launcher
-Nova Launcher
-Genie widget
-CM9 Music and Clock
-Circle battery (AOKP only)
The keyboard disappears after flashing this theme!
Keyboard fix: just install another keyboard example go keyboard.
WAIT AFTER FLASHING!! IT TAKES ABOUT 2-5 MINS OF BLACK SCREEN AND THEN IT BOOTS WITHOUT LOGO TO LOCK SCREEN SO KEEP TAPPING POWER ON BUTTON!
BLACK SCREEN FIX: This occurs every reboot, you just have to wait after white android boot logo. Then try to unlock screen because it goes straight to screen lock. Try disabling SIM asking at boot if that helps.
It also might lag little bit in recovery just after flashing!
Be patient!
Q&A
My phone keeps bootlooping, what should i do?
Get resources.arsc from the folder /MORPH/system/framework/framework-res.apk of a previous working release or delete it (you'll have some blue stuff)
My phone and contacts are not showing, what to do?
Flash latest google apps for ICS and then the theme again.
Gmail app force closes, any fix?
Go in system settings, apps and clear gmail datas
I'm on 4g and i'm having troubles with sms/mms and calls, what to do?
Delete contacts.apk and mms.apk from /XTRAS/system/app before flashing
How revert back after this theme?
Flash via CWM the backup in /sdcard/UniversalFlasher folder

I fetched the 4.0.3 Contacts.apk, overwrote it on /system/app, set permissions to rw- r-- r--, rebooted, et voila.
So, until ravp624 solves the issue by providing a universal Contacts.apk, I'm gonna use this (slightly outdated?) workaround.

So, after installing Blue Infinitum, you can try replacing the Contacts.apk with the one I quoted above. Then set permissions, reboot, and you're good to go.
EDIT:
I modified and repackaged the CWM file, which found from i9000 Themes' forum; and included the inverted 4.0.3 Contacts.apk from above, plus a less spammy updater script.
So there you have it; inverted apps, the easy way, compatible with our i9001/CM9.
I have included only the basic stuff (aka only what's present in Arco68's CM9):
Calendar [4.0.4]
Contacts [4.0.3]
Email [4.1]
Gmail [4.0.5]
MMS/SMS [4.0.4]
GTalk [4.0.4]
Market [3.5.16]
If you want to add any other skinned app to the package; you just have to open it with winRAR, navigate to "\system\app\", then drag and drop it into the archive.

[REQ] Inverted MMS.APK for Kingdroid_Notemania 4.x

I have been searching for a working inverted SMS that works in the KingDroid ROM. Unfortunately every MMS.apk I flashed or copied via Root Manager crashes. Most of them does not open, some of them opens and displays all the threads, but crashes when trying to send SMS.
Can anyone please guide me to a Inverted Black MMS.apk that works on KingDroid NoteMania 4.x +.
Much Appreciated.

No guarantees (and make backup before), but maybe the addon pack http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1429170, (not the theme, find the "Inverted apps addon" in post 1) could work - it seems to copy orginal apk's to sd card, apply changes and put them back, plus it comes with flashable uninstaller. Addon works on my CM9, never had to test uninstaller though.
Nope, No luck.
I flashed the addon pack. Every default app that was themes except Calculator FCed. Got to put back the back up.
Thanks for the time.
I think this works only for SGS2.
Solved.
The work around I would was that install Kingdroid_AOSP_MMS.apk ( Same as the AOSP apk at The MidTeam 1.6.2 thread v 1.1 ) right after flashing the ROM. Before opening SMS app in the stock.
If flashed right after the MMS becomes the Inverted Version. As far as I know, there is no other way. I have tried almost all the MMS.apk that says inverted after opening MMS that comes default.
This solved my issue. :highfive:

I all depends on the size of the icons. You can use xhdpi icons, but they'll be to big for the status bar. I haven't found away to adjust the icons in the xml's as of yet, still looking. That bugs me as well especially the "3G". All in all unless you have ICS the icons will continue to look this way.

No, i dont think so. You have to consider that each icon has a designated space mandated in the XML's or smali about 38x38 or so. You want to find that line and change it to read something like 38x20 or what ever you want. It would read something like <FrameLayout android:layout_width="20.0dip" android:layout_height="25.0dip". I've tried changing "status_bar_icon.xml" to no avail.

You want to find that line and change it to read something like 38x20 or what ever you want. It would read something like <FrameLayout android:layout_width="20.0dip" android:layout_height="25.0dip". I've tried changing "status_bar_icon.xml" to no avail.

Thanks for the links, but out of curiosity, why stay on 2.3.3?

Because 2.3.4 is broken. You can't connect to Google's server.

Hmm, I can't seem to get this to work right. I'm using the R800x locked bootloader, 2.3.3. I have the file on my sdcard and renamed it update.zip. Through the CWM recovery, I flash the zip file. It runs and finishes rather quickly. When it reboots, I get stuck in a bootloop. Am I missing something or doing something wrong that might be causing this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

You don't need to rename it , just choose "install zip from sdcard" option. Sorry, I dont know why your bootlooping
EDIT: i just downloaded the theme from the link and it installed just fine.
Are you downloading from your phone?
If so please download from a pc, and try again

Downloaded the file from my PC and transferred it to my sd card. Installed from the zip file in CWM recovery. Appeared to install. Restarted my phone. Bootloop again. Beyond me why it's not working. Could there be anything that would interfere with the theme? Apps or anything of the like?
Thanks for the help

None that I'm aware of , all the apk's in the theme are stock, just modified. I pull them from the 2.3.3 system dump. I have to admit that this is a bit baffling to me.

Have you tried my other themes. You can see if they work and then try to flash this theme on top of it.

This ICS theme worked fine.

Yours looked like it may have corrected the minor visual problems this one had. I'll give a shot at re-installing this one and putting yours on top to see if that works. I'll let you know.
EDIT: Ok, the old ICS theme still works.
Out of curiosity, I checked out what the difference between the two themes were. What are the apks in the app folder within your zip?
EDIT2: Worked! You were right. I had to install that old ICS theme down first before yours worked. Wonder why that would work...oh well.

One thing I've noticed is that using my music players (built-in music and playerpro), the text of the song title in the notification bar is black, so it's unreadable.
But so far, awesome job, man.

Hmm, I know that old ICS theme had that black text issue with the MUSIC.apk. Wonder if it carried over into your theme, maybe?
