[Q] HTC 8X questions for new user - Windows Phone 8x by HTC

Hello,
I was looking to buy an 8X and had a few questions before I do I was hoping someone could/would answer:
1. I was wondering if anyone can post suggestions of reputable retailers that sell the "HTC Windows Phone 8X Unlocked" that will work on AT&T with 4G LTE.
Please note I am looking for the official "Unlocked" version straight from HTC.
2. Is it possible to share the internet via Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/USB with the 8X to a PC or other device?
3. Can any one post highly recommended custom ROMs for the 8X?
I am coming from an older HTC HD2 using Dutty's ROMs and I am looking to see what I can do similar with the new 8X phone.
Thanks.

1. I bought it straight from Bell Aliant (Canadian AT&T). Hence, I couldn't recommend you any retailers.
2. Sure is! As far as I know, you can only do a Wifi Hotspot.
3. There's no custom ROMs for WP8. It's a Windows Phone, really not as open as Android. But really, you don't need a custom ROM. I was an Android fanboy before switching to Windows Phone. I loved the idea of customizing my phone and using the latest, fastest ROM. However, this phone is seriously the fastest phone I've ever used, without even having a custom ROM.

I bought an unlocked and unbranded Bell (Canada) 8X. It works 100% on ATT after a couple of tweaks like APN's. I believe that AT&T and Bell are the only two versions that will work with AT&T's LTE. Do some research and check out the exact model numbers before purchasing.

Htc Fuze Unlock From At&t (usa) To Work In Europe

Hello everyone,
I am new to the phone tweaking world while I am an IT technician, I going to visit friends in the U.S and I am planning to buy an AT&T HTC FUZE.
As some of you probably know the prices in Europe are kind of outrageous so I want to buy it from there.
My question to anyone who can help is whether I can flash the AT&T software and put the native HTC on, or at least do something for the software that can make it fully function with my network (Cosmote) in Greece.
Thank you in advance for the help,
Yes assuming ur willing to buy the phone full price and then have a friend with ATT get the unlock code for you, or buy an unlock code. You do not need to reflash the radio because the Fuze has quadband EDGE and triband HSDPA unlike the European Touch Pro. You can however flash a custom ROM which will work with your carrier. (The stock ROM will work too but in my opinion, the ATT one is slow)
The fuze is the htc touch pro aka diamond which is what you will find it under in the forum
here is a link to the rom section if you are interested in flashing a new rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=430
but before flashing you may want to check here ...it a guide to flashing your first rom
http://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C...chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=flashing+your+first+rom+xda
EDIT- you may also want to sim unlock if you are going on a different network.....
here is more info on that

Whats a good android phone tmo?

My current carrier is tmobile and I own a my touch 3g and I am looking for a better android running phone.
So what would be a good unlocked android phone to buy? Other than the ones tmobile offers. I have seen a few sites with unlocked android phones for any carrier.

I was thinking of grabbing a myTouch if you want to unload yours - send me a message if you do decide to change.
There is a simple two word answer that can't be beat: Samsung Vibrant. It's the T-Mobile version of the Samsung Galaxy S and should be the best/most powerful phone T-Mobile has as of this month when it comes out. $199.99 with a 2-year contract rpice. Not sure how much full retail is but then there is the ATT version which has a crazy low full retail price of $349.99.
You should check out the Nexus One unlocked and start rocken

[Q] Data sense availability

Hey guys,
Just got the HTC Windows Phone 8X, coming from an HTC Evo 3D. Huge improvement speed wise. Still getting used to WP8.
Anyway, anyone knows what's the availability on different carries for data sense? I know it's available for Verizon, but anyone knows when it's going to be released for other carries? I'm with Bell in Canada.

Can only speak for Germany - so here we have O² only, who have it already installed on their branded devices!

You sure? I tried a few O2 branded Lumias and couldn't find it anywhere I'm on FONIC so if O2 really has it, I hope all O2's MVNO will eventually support it as well.

hmm, looks like not all of the MVNOs have it already!
Can only tell, what I've heard in the German forums! Seems only the main O2 provider have it ready at the time!

Need some advice, potentially switching to M8

Hello,
I currently have a Note 3 but have an opportunity to purchase an HTC One M8 Developer edition. I'm on Verizon. Are there any gotchas I need to look out for? Any limitations I'll have on Verizon? I know Dev editions typically are unfettered, but I've only had Samsung Galaxy devices so I'm not schooled up on the way HTC handles their business.
Thanks!
not sure they made a developers edition for verizon... if its a international/ GSM version it might not work on verizon... I know a verizon phone can go to GSM but looses LTE ability... check your phone bands of the phone and be sure it suppports all of verizons channels... different versions supports different cell signal although all are M8

Thanks for the info. I'll do my due diligence before purchasing. Not a whole lot of definitive info out there on the webs unfortunately. Might have to pass this one up.

I'm almost positive the developer edition will not work on Verizon. I don't believe verizon released their own developer edition so I don't think I'd go that route. At this point a new Verizon runs 4.4.4 which is not unlockable. The only thing you could do is buy one already s-off through swappa.

Yeah, looking to get one used if I get one. This guys was selling his dev edition for 250, pretty killer if it's kosher. I'll have to pass it up though. Thanks for the updates

Boost Mobile Compatibility

Hi All,
Pardon if this has already been asked but I cannot find a similar topic specific to the question below. There is a lot of development around this phone and I would like to get back onto a phone similar to this.
Can any Oneplus 7 Pro phone be used on the Sprint network or is there a specific submodel that needs to be purchased?
There does not appear to be this phone or the 5g version being sold anywhere I look (GM1917 and GM1925). I am specifically looking for a phone that has 8+ GB of ram, 8xx snapdragon chipset (66x+ chpset) and decent custom roms available. There appears to be the T-Mobile Mclaren edition (HD1925) but again, this phone is a different model and is technically a different subforum. Either way, the question above is the simple question I am looking to be answered.
Thanks all for the support!
The Sprint version would probably be best.

Thank you for the reply. The issue is (and why I am posting about it) is that I cannot find the sprint specific phones online. Calling up the local Sprint store, they say have one in stock. I have the S10 and have little motivation to dump more money in a new phone. I was wondering if a generic unlocked phone can work. It does not appear that many people have the answer though.
