Hello,
I'm looking if there is any exfat support on the Xoom.
I looked into different forum's but had no clear answer on that.
I actually use a Kingston SDXC 64gb card formated in FAT32 with the last EOS (MZ601) 4.2.1 rom.
When I reboot, the card is not/never mounted. I need to remove the sim then remove and reinsert the SD card to mount it and then reboot to get the data enabled (3G).
Thanks for your help.

install Paragon exFAT, NTFS & HFS+
paragon
Hi War1
I remember now that I already tried paragon in the past (when I was rooted but with original rom) and it was not working.
I just retried formating my sd-card in exfat but I have the message "damaged sd-card" and with paragon "no NTFS or HFS+/HFSX partition found"
Thanks for your support
Michel
paragon (additional info)
Hi War1,
Some additional info:
I format my sd-card with windows 7 (windows explorer) and tried quick format and "normal" format.
Maybe I need to use another software to format my sd-card?
Thanks,
Michel

I hope this is appropriate for the Development forum as it relates to the two recoveries here - CWM 6.0.1.4 and TWRP 2.3.0.0. I have previously posted in both those threads. I have not seen any comments about problems so it would be good to know if I am not alone.
I have the 64Gb version of the TF700T with JB (unfortunately, no NVflash).
I have been using the Sandisk 64Gb UHS1 card. It came formatted with exFAT and was one of the few that worked OK under the original firmware. I could not get either CWM or TWRP to see the card at all in recovery mode.
I found a spare 16Gb card that was formatted in Fat32. That worked fine and mounted without a problem under both CWM and TWRP.
I then did a full format of the 16Gb card under Windows 7 to exFAT and it would not work. With CWM I tried a simple backup and got 'Can't mount backup path'. Then tried to Mount /sdcard and got 'Error mounting /sdcard'. In TWRP I could not select or mount the card.
Next I did a full format to NTFS. With CWM I still have the same problem. With TWRP it allows me to select the card and it can be browsed in TWRP's File Manager. However, when I try to create a backup I get an error creating backup path.
Is it just me or can no one properly mount and backup direct to the external card with CWM or TWRP when the card is formatted in exFAT or NTFS?
As the 64Gb card cannot be formatted with Fat32 then does that mean I will not be able to use my 64Gb card and backup direct to the card?
TIA

EDIT: The precise error I am getting from TWRP is 'E:Unable to create folder: /external_sdcard/TWRP (errno=30)'.
It has to be FAT32 for some reason. I had the same issue so I bought a cheap card just to have an SD Card with my nandroid backups on it.
NTFS mounts as read only in TWRP which isn't all that useful but that's due to the kernel. exFAT has a much stricter license than regular FAT so I doubt that you will ever see exFAT support in a Linux kernel.
Maybe I will dabble with the kernel config & try to get NTFS to mount writable.
What about ext4, is it possible to format in ext4 and have android recognize it and the recovery... just a thought since Linux does support it and IMO ext4 is superior to fat32 and ntfs.
Moved to correct board (hint, unless you actually POST development, it doesn't belong on development......)
When using the Sandisk 64GB SD card I'll tap the notification area in the lower right of the screen and quick setting menu doesn't come up. This doesn't happen with my old 8GB card. If I reboot with the card removed, insert and mount it, then the menu works fine. Upon reboot it won't work again. I am able to browse the card either way. Is this a bug in CleanROM or something else maybe?

Sandisk 64GB SD card formatted to exFat
I had the same problem with sandisk 64gb micro sdxc class 10 card in exfat. If I put the card in the tabs mirco sd slot it would mount as read only in any file manager but if I put it in the keyboard docks sd slot using an sd adapter it would mount as read/write and show in notification menu. I tried different formats but ended up using fat32 as it would mount as r/w in both slots and show in notification menu and also that way I could mount card in recovery TWRP (2.3.3.0) as it would not mount exfat, new TWRP (2.4.0.0) can mount exfat. Hope this helps.
I can write to the card using the stock file manager, and I'm already using TWRP 2.4.0.0 (although the CleanRom instructions mention an allusive 2.4.4.0). The only real issue that I am having is when the tablet is booted with the card already inserted the quick setting menu doesn't show up.
Thought about reformatting, but I need it to be able to store files greater than 4GB. But thanks for the suggestion.

Oops CROMI instructions should say 2.4.0.0 :good:
Exfat is your issue - stock rom s only support Fat32 properly.

Thanks, that did it! Also works with NTFS! NTFS however is much slower than FAT32 in writing.
I am trying Paragon and ntfs mounter to mount my NTFS formatted micro SD cards but they don't mount. FAT32 mounts just fine but I need NTFS because I have huge video files. I need something that will mount them so that I can use TrueCrypt containers via EDS Pro.
What should I be using?
I am a noob and this is my first Android device. I didn't know where to post. I searched the posts and didn't find anything beneficial.
Thank you.
Do any of you guys use a Samsung phone (mine is i9505) encrypting a EXFAT formatted external sdcard?
I tried to encrypt a 2GB exfat formatted external sdcard, but the encryption failed.. (it didnt actually start the encryption)
The exfat card mounted fine though
I wonder if it works on 64GB or 128GB micro sdcards?
Any experience? what room are you using? Thanks
Hi Guys,
I am hoping someone maybe able to help me with my SD Card.
Its a 64gb Sandisk Ultra Micro SD Card which I used in my Asus TF700.
I formatted it to run the the CHROMI-x ROM as data2sd, but have now installed sbdags's new ROM and so no longer need the partitions on the sd card and so have tried to remove them initially with gparted - but I get an error along the lines of i/o error in gparted no matter what I try to do (either format or delete partitions etc).
I have also tried to used Diskpart, and mini tool and I cannot see the ext4 partition at all with these (just the 16gb FAT32).
Any ideas on how I may save the card please would be appreciated.
