If none of the toolkits are working then you'll have to do it the old fashioned way. Make sure you have all the ADB drivers installed on your computer and then take instructions from another root and merge them into your own. Its not going to be a simple 1-click though.

i don't think so ask the developer
Hi, my LG-C555 is unlocked & rooted and currently runs Android 2.2. I wanted/needed to change the internal firmware so I tried Gingerbreak (1.0, 1.1 and 1.2) but none of them seems to work.
I was able of pushing gingerbreak.apk (version 0, 1 and 2) to the /data/app folder with the USB debugging mode ON and I also have inserted a formated/mounted SD card in the phone.
Then I installed it normally, the installation started but never ended, it stayed in an infinite loop (more than 1 hour)... I had to reboot.
How did you manage to install it properly on yours?
Thank you for your time,
highmighty
Hi all,
The Gingerbreak installation starts on my rooted-network-unlocked LG-C550 but it never ends, it stays in an infinite loop (more than 1 hour)... it finally needed a reboot and unfortunately nothing has changed with the firmware version, it's still Android version 2.2, what could be the problem?
Also, could someone tell me how can I force a flash of the same default "firmware" into it?
I suspect a problem with the installed firmware so that's why I wanted to try Gingerbreak to see if my problem would go away...
Your help is much appreciated!
Regards,
highmighty
@highmighty
It looks like the exploit, which Gingerbreak uses is fixed, you can try to use the Stock-ROM of your phone. There are many other ways out there to root phones. I got my Huawei Boulder rooted with superoneclick, maybe that will do it for you too. If you find a solution please post it here for others.
Best regards

SuperOneClick worked great. Thanks for the advice. I sucessfully rooted an LG C555 from Koodo.
Hi, just a question here. My sister gave me a C550 or C555.
Does the root unlock simlock at the same time, like others devices, or not?
I have been searching the internet for a tutorial on how to successfully root my Alcatel OT-990 and I cannot find a decent tutorial that I can follow start to finish. I have tried several of the methods but none of them seem to work. I am new to this whole rooting process but I am very keen to get it lol.
I am running windows xp if that makes any difference as I can see a lot of the tutorials are for linux which are no use to me.
Hopefully I can get this device rooted. Cheers
Anyone have any idea?

I looked on other threads for help to rooting this tablet, everywhere I look it says to use motochopper, and use the drivers for the device you are using, but I can't find the drivers I need for this tablet, could someone help me with this?

AP-GS918 Root Question
Hi,
try to use mobogenie & root ur device thru using this.
Hello XDA-Devs.
I'm a new user here on the forums, the reason I signed up is because I've been searching for a way to root my Chinese phone, (Cubot Rainbow).
I've tried so many ways to root it from one click root apps to most apps available on PC. I was wondering, if there is a way that one of you lovely members could share it with me. I'd me very grateful.
Thank you,
-BBerserk
Well, I haven't ever heard of the manufacturer so I doubt there'd be any one-click root apps which are compatible with your device. Is there a custom recovery for your device, though? If so, you could flash the SuperSU binary zip.
Hello did you manage to make root the CUBOT rainbow? I've tried all sorts of ways, and I managed to right maybe someone knows a way? Thanks in advance
This phone is a bit crammed with system apps & rooting would make the phone so much more useful to me but I just can't seem to get it done. It's android version 7.1.1. I've tried everything; interestingly enough when using kingoroot on PC, it said the rooting was successful yet, the phone remained unrooted. I'm having a hard time figuring out what went wrong. The mobile apps kingroot and kingoroot do not work and kingroot pc version also does not work. This is bugging me, I need some help ASAP

Nope, unfortunately. So frustrating, I gave up
Did you tried to unlock bootloader first and apply the root tools after?
So first i've unlocked the bootloader. Now, i'm currently in recovery mode, and /system can be mounted from there. Is there anything I can do to root this? Preferrably with a PC.
EDIT: Actually, all i did was turn on OEM Unlocking. The phone doesn't want me to unlock the bootloader.
