I've got Sony Bravia TV (KDL60EX720) - When I connect my Samsung tablet 7.7 p1000 model which is sitting on a dock which has a mini hdmi connection which runs into my tv via a mini hdmi to hdmi converter it does not show up as a connected device.
I've taken the cable out put it back in to see if the TV recognise - but Not happening.
I've put the tablet in sleep mode and turned the display back on to see if that helps - NO
Any tips or suggestions on if anyone had a similar issue connecting hdmi dock to sony bravia tv?

Could u give us the solution so next time someone is having similar problem they could find your topic and try if your solution works out for them? It would add some information to this already quite quiet forum. Thanks!

So connecting my TF to a bravia w5500 does noting but dmesg shows hdmi handshake error.
In simple words the TF cant get a edid to know what kind of hardware is connected.
But who is ad fault here, my sony bravia or TF .
As note i only have problems with the TF every thing els is working with my bravia.
And i have a 1.4 cable (direct)
any one have same problems and dmesg ( i2c error reading edid )
Edit , a 1.3 cable does not fix it
Try plugging it to another HDMI devices and lets see what you get in dmesg.
I should try my HDMI port too to see how it works.

tested with some tv's all working
All bravia w5500 do not work , so whats up with this ( dont know if more bravia have this problems )
Try changing HDMI setup options of your TV, from a quick glance at the user manual of your TV, I can see there are lots of options for HDMI, some are specific to connecting Sony devices, try turning those off. My TV doesn't have that many HDMI options and it worked straight away.
Works fine with my Visio. I need to adjust the HDMI scaling on my TV but other than that, it's great!
Seems to work with my Bravia HX800.
Whats this HDMI scaling ?
Tested it last night. Connected my TF to my yamaha receiver's hdmi port. My only complaint is the audio volume is low and i have to crank up the receiver.
tf101 and Sony Bravia KDL 40 W 5500
Yes i have the configuration Sony Bravia KDL 40 W5500 and transformer, but with
the new cable that i receive today from ebay, the screen of my tv is black grrrrrr
but oon bravia near the icon hdmi, i can see an blue arrow just when i plug my tf.
this arrow disappear when i unplug the tf, then this cable is good but the screen is
always black !!!!!
somebody have a solution ?
Your problem is basically what this thread turned into:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1111672
We're looking into it but it looks like it may be a problem in the kernel.
Well I have Brawia W5500 and also my HDMI does not work...
I have an off brand Auria tv but it works great with all my devices. I can't get hdmi out through my receiver or directly to the TV. The TF shows the mini hdmi connected and blacks the screen. I see on another thread there is a known issue with some TVs and ASUS has acknowledged it.
I have a Z4500, the HDMI from the TF works. But the picture is not great quality, the upscaling of the TF from SD to 720p is very poor.
Also trying to find out if HDMI supports dual display output? has anyone had any luck?
So still nothing?
Hi. I just bought the micro HDMI to HDMI cable to connect my Xoom with my TV (Sony Bravia KDL-32V4000)
Is working on 720p / 60 but looks like is zoomed on TV.
On the same TV I have also 2 HDMI with xbox 360 connected and MPEG4. Everything just work on others HDMI except this of Xoom.
Somewhere I read that I must find over scanning and turn it off but no such option or Screen Fit on my TV.
Is CM 10.1 bug or my TV needs properly settings? How to fix the problem?
Any help?

I'm a science teacher and I use a galaxy note 10.1 (original) to do my lectures and I project the image on the screen with allshare cast. The problem is, our school has old projectors with no HDMI and only XGA resolution. Up until now, I have been using an HDMI --> DVI cable which displays the image clearly. The problem of course is that there is no sound. I don't need sound most of the time, so I've been getting by without it.
However, after reading a few threads on here I found that people had success using allshare with the Cable Matters active HDMI --> VGA with audio cable on amazon. So I picked up one of those. I connected the cable and sound, made sure to power it with the usb cable, and it shows up with just a black screen. No matter what configuration it is in, it just shows a black screen. When I pull the HDMI cable out of allshare and put it into a laptop (acer chromebook), the image displays on the screen fine. So the VGA cable and adapter both work.
Allshare works on the projector with DVI, but not VGA, whereas a laptop works with both on the same projector. Any help?
Does that HDMI-VGA adapter support HDCP? I'm pretty sure there's been a change to the ASCD to require HDCP support on the "display" end.

I did see that, though I'm still on the old LJ02 firmware and furthermore the others I've heard with hdcp issues received a message saying that the device was not hdcp compatible. In my case I cant even see the allshare cast instruction screen (it's black) but I CAN see the dongle on my device and connect.
Hey everyone.
I need some help with an HDMI- DVI problem on my MK808B Plus
Goal:
Connect my Android Mini-TV (MK808B Plus) to a specific PC monitor.
Problem:
Monitor has a resolution of 1440x900 and no HDMI.
Story:
I have an old monitor as described above that i want to use for a small project. This project involves an android device. I chose to go with the MK808B Plus. Knowing the connections available on the monitor, i also bought a Mini HDMI to DVI-D adapter cable. I hooked it all up and the monitor detected the input but wouldn't display an image. Just random lines sometimes and then black like it was attempting to connect.
I then hooked it up to another monitor via HDMI and it worked just fine. I then plugged it into the same monitor's DVI port using the adapter and the monitor seemed to see it, and try to display it, but to no avail.
I would like any and all help i can get with this problem. If need be i can even swap the android stick for another model as i have just purchased it.
Thanks
Hey, im want to mirror my screen from my galaxy s6 to my samsung smart tv UE40ES6710 but the problem is that the wifi from my smart tv is broken, also i cant scan for wifi cause it doesnt find anything and sometimes it crashes and hang up when i try to connect my tv wirh my wifi. So my question is can i mirror my screen from my s6 to my smart tv WITHOUT having my smart tv connected to wifi??? I tried a usb wifi adapter but when i plug it in my smart tv it doesnt get recognized, but the wifi adapter is ok cause it works on my pc. i tried every usb port on my tv but it doesnt help. Can i use something like screen mirroring or quick connect but without have my smart tv connected to internet??
And no ethernet cable, too
Try a Chromecast. Plugs into hdmi, has its own Wi-Fi, you can mirror your phone. $35.
EDIT: ^ What he said.
Chrome cast is cheap and awesome

Is there any other way to stream my screen and sound without chromecast? The problem is that my network adapter from my tv seems to be broken and that the software is absolutely buggy too, i couldnt update the girmware from my smart tv with a usb so i need to try another way without buy something new like chromecast stick or hdmi to micro usb cable.
I don't think the S6 supports a cabled connection, so ìf the WiFi on your TV is broken a Chromecast is going to be cheaper than replacing the TV connection.
