[Q] Proper 3.17 Kernel for AOSP ROMs? - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

I have a Rogers HTC One X (HBoot 2.14, software v. 3.17.631.2) and am looking to get 4.2.x so I can use DashClock. Unfortunately have found flashing specific ROMs will not work (though I can flash them and boot them the touch screen will not work). I looked around and found others had the same problem. However, the provided kernel doesn't seem to work with my device. I understand that this seems to only work with SENSE based ROMs.
I've even tried repacking the boot.img of the ROMs with the stock boot.img (through online and downloaded repackers) to no avail.
ROMs I've tried include :
CM 10.1 (touchscreen wouldn't work - realized it wasn't compatible after)
PACman (touchscreen wouldn't work)
AOKP (touchscreen wouldn't work)
I've tried them all using their own boot.img as well as the stock boot.img as well as a repack of the two. The only ROM I've managed to get working so far is ViperXL which makes sense as it's a SENSE based ROM. Does anybody know of a kernel that will allow these 4.2.x ROMs to work with the new touch drivers HTC included with the 3.17.xxx.x update? Or rather, is there a 3.17.xxx.x based ROM that can give the One X/XL 4.2.x JB ?
Alternatively, is it possible to somehow get DashClock to work with 4.1.1?

[Q] Custom Rom problems

Has anyone else had problems trying to install roms like cyanogenmod after the Jellybean update? I used to be able to install CM9 nightlys then eventually stable releases and back to stock with no problems, so i am not a noob to flashing roms. Now after I updated to stock 4.1 I cant install CM10 or any other custom roms. I have tried installing through CWM and TWRP but cant get past the ASUS screen after flashing the usual way. I heard there was a change in partition sizes when the update applied. Is there a way to install custom roms again or am i doing it wrong now?

[Q] JBMIUIv4.1 #2.9.29 Wifi Issues

Dear Guys,
I have this Question and I'd Be grateful if anyone specifically the developers of the JBMIUI can help me with it, When I install the JBMIUI ROM, a little while after it's done, Wifi stops working, the same problem occurs in ICS by the firmware 3.32, but after installing OTA update , firmware version get updated to 3.33 and the problem was solved, (by the way, my phone is HTC Sensation), After this I flashed many ROMs and didn't have any problem with Wifi (although if I install Custom Kernel, the Problem would be back), When I install MIUI v2.9.29, I have No Problem with wifi, as i think it uses Stock Kernel, Is there a Way that I can Solve this Problem (without having to install Programs like Wifix)?

[Q] Issues of 4.1 stock recovery with 4.2 ROM?

Hello guys.. I would be grateful if any of you could help me with your thoughts regarding this matter...
For security reasons I prefer flashing stock recovery and locking down the boot loader after I settle on a custom rom/kernel combo. Been doing this for a while and I dont mind building my phone up from the scratch when I change ROM.
With CM 10.1 stable coming up.. I think I'll finally switch to 4.2 in a few weeks time. I read on the forums that the file system change in 4.2 doesn't play nice with 4.1 recoveries and ends up creating duplicate folders all over the place. Now... I'll surely use latest CWM or TWRP to flash CM 10.1 but later... when I flash the stock recovery (v3e, i think the latest for our device) just to lock down my device- is there any possibility that my system would get messed up? As the latest stock recovery for Nexus S was released with 4.1.2 it isn't supposed to be compatible with 4.2.2 roms technically.
..enlighten me please! with my little knowledge, i'm unable to work it out in my head

Unable to install Cyanogenmod 11

I am perplexed:
I had previously installed many custom roms after updating to stock kitkat, including CM 11. However, I am not able instally cyanogenmod, AT ALL. I have gone through all the steps and all the recoveries, CWM & TWRP all versions. After the installation, the phone hangs on the boot logo, always.
Any clue would be appreciated. Thank you.
U sure u flashed/fastbooted the recommended kernel correctly and did a full wipe before installing the Rom?

I highly doubt you installed CM11 with the KitKat kernel installed. It won't work. The only way it would work is to FXZ back to JB and then install the previous version of CWM or TWRP.
Currently, there are no ROMs working with the KitKat versions of CM11 or TWRP, although dhacker is working on a new CM11 using the latest KK kernel for the RAZR HD phones and the developer for the Nexesque ROM is also working on an updated version that uses the KitKat kernel as well.

It was very strange situation. I ended up getting CM to work by using CWM 6.0.4.4. FMI (for my information), I need to use CWM 6.0.4.4 will be needed to install custom roms.
Thanks for the advice..

new to g3....question

I have come from a nexus and an htc drvice. When I flash a rom for the g3...does it also flash the kernel with it? Does it flash firmware as well? With htc devices....there were specific firmwares that were compatible with only aosp roms and some with the manufacture skin.
Just need to know if the rom zip flashes everything to make the rom work correctly...or if there are additional steps.
thanks
