Unable to install Cyanogenmod 11 - RAZR HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am perplexed:
I had previously installed many custom roms after updating to stock kitkat, including CM 11. However, I am not able instally cyanogenmod, AT ALL. I have gone through all the steps and all the recoveries, CWM & TWRP all versions. After the installation, the phone hangs on the boot logo, always.
Any clue would be appreciated. Thank you.

U sure u flashed/fastbooted the recommended kernel correctly and did a full wipe before installing the Rom?

I highly doubt you installed CM11 with the KitKat kernel installed. It won't work. The only way it would work is to FXZ back to JB and then install the previous version of CWM or TWRP.
Currently, there are no ROMs working with the KitKat versions of CM11 or TWRP, although dhacker is working on a new CM11 using the latest KK kernel for the RAZR HD phones and the developer for the Nexesque ROM is also working on an updated version that uses the KitKat kernel as well.

It was very strange situation. I ended up getting CM to work by using CWM 6.0.4.4. FMI (for my information), I need to use CWM 6.0.4.4 will be needed to install custom roms.
Thanks for the advice..

Unable to install custom ROMS - phone process error

Hi
Just moved onto the Moto G from a couple of Huawei devices, G300 then Y300... (bye bye Modaco!) - So I'm pretty used to flashig, wiping etc using TWRP and CWM...
Anyhow, got the Moto G (XT1033), booloader unlocked, done a full restore to clean 4.2 and let it update to 4.4 fine, no problems.
Installed the latest CWM, got root, all fine... again, no problems...
But EVERY rom I try - slim, CM11, always install OK but on booting come up with phone process failures and I have to abandon.
I tried putting the 422 modem zip from the CM11 thread on, made no difference.
So I've rewiped back to stock and updated to 4.4.2, and flashed CWM, but still can't install a custom rom, getting the phone process error on startup.
Any suggestions?
Resolved myself! Revert to factory, install CWM and flash new roms without doing the ota to kitkat first.

Yes. Originally I let it run through the ota update, then installed CWM and tried to install various roms. All gave me a FC on outdoor process as soon as I booted.
tried again with TWRP, same thing. third time lucky, I restored to factory, let it boot but didn't do the ota update, installed CWM for 4.3 bootloader, and all has been find since, flashed several roms with no problems.
So you have a dual SIM version and you flashed a custom ROM which means only one SIM works now. Am I right? How is everything else, no issues with performance just because yours is a dual SIM variant?

Flashing EOS ROM, Stuck on boot!

UPDATE: I installed v6.0.3.1 of CWM, but that did not help. Then I installed version 4.1.1 of this ROM, and that worked. Only the OS is an older version than the stock that was on before. Can anyone tell me why v4.2.2 of EOS ROM is not compatible with my MZ604 Wingray Xoom, using v6.0.3.1 CWM recovery?
Try to install my first ROM on the Xoom (wifi model). Twice now I have tried to flash EOS (nightly build 20130705-205), both with and without the GAPPS package. It gets stuck on the logo screen. This is a 4.2.2 ROM and I have CWM v3.2.0.0. Could it be my CWM is not compatible with jb 4.2.2? I know plenty have used this ROM, so not sure why it's not working here.

[Q] Problem that happened using Multirom, now i have an unusable phone

I had the latest version of CM11 on my Opo 64 GB, was also using Multirom and Miui 4.10.24.
Tried to install the 4.10.31 version, but i did it wrong (i did not go into TWRP, then Multirom, add zip and install, but i just selected install rom and flashed the 4.10.31 zip file).
Now, the main CM11 OS is lost, i cannot boot into it, and i cannot also boot into MIUI.
So, how can i get my CM11 back?
I tried flashing the official version but it gives me error while trying to install it through TWRP.
Also if i reboot the phone and try to choose the MIUI it says
"error, kexec-hardboot support is required to boot this rom.
install kernel with kexec-hardboot support to your internal rom.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes I can, managed to install MIUI only, latest version.
I also installed Multirom again (on MIUI) and it downloaded cm11s kernel).
Ok managed to go back to my old miui os, now I have 2 miui os and no cm11, also downloaded the Franco kernel 30. How can i check if the cm11 that i had before is still there, if not how can i install it again without screwing my already working miui?
update:
After some tests, this is what's happening.
I believe I have no CM11S on my phone, that is gone!
I have the MIUI V5 running, but when i flash the franco kernel, the phone is stuck on boot (1+1 logo), i have to flash the kernel_kexec_bacon_cm11s to make it boot in MIUI (working).
So, now i have a working rom that works through Mutlirom and I cannot flash a working CM11S rom on the phone.
Any help would be great guys!

Here ist what i have experienced:
I was on System Version: 181.46.3
Well nevertheless:
It was the most recent version i could get and i wanted to get back to Android L.
I installed CM12 the Following way, I had a lot of problems with that. So here is my experience and everything:
So you need to know, to install CM12 or other CM12 based ROMS you first need to have CM11 installed.
Newer Versions of the recovery might be having problems installing CM11, so i would recommend using PhilZ Touch Recovery. It was working for me.
1st: install PhilZ recovery
2nd: factory reset
3rd: install cm11 (Unified Build, due to no up-to-date-build for XT925)
4th: boot
5th: install latest TWRP XT925/TWRP XT926
6th: factory reset
7th: install CM12 XT925 / CM12 XT926 or other CM12 based ROM
8th: install Gapps
9th: wipe cache/dalvik cache
10: Boot
11: Have fun.
Possible problems:
"This package is for moto_msm8960, xt907, scorpion_mini, smq, xt926, vanquish, this is a xt925" ------> You got a problem with the Recovery, it is too new. Try PhilZ
CM12 Booting, inconsistent Data partition stuff error ---------> you did not install cm11 and did not wipe Data before installing CM12, when coming from Blur Rom
Bootloop ---------> no wiping or you did not install cm11 before installing CM12
I hope this might have helped you.

Heyho
I have an XT925.
I installed the msm8960 Build.
The Reason i used the unified Build was, there is no KKBL build for the xt925.
thanks again, onto the procedure now
just last thing, which version of philz recovery you installed, download link has latest one @esok44

If you come frome OTA Kitkat 4.4.2
you have to change Step 1st: install PhilZ recovery ------ to ------ Install TWRP2710-RAZR-HD_M-KITKAT.img instead then you can flash the CM 11
If you like philz_touch_6.58.7-moto_msm8960.img recovery (it can mount external Memory Card as USB) you can flash it after all installations after Point 11. The only thing that you cannot start directly to recovery from CM 12.1

[Q] Can't Install Slimkat : Status Error 7

Hi Buddy!
Greetings from a new guy here
Just basic question, few days back I'm trying to Install Slimkat ROM, I've done few steps below :
- Wipe data factory reset
- Wipe chache
- Wipe dalvik
- Format system
- Flash zip from Internal SD Card
But I'm getting status error 7 on installation proccess
I'm trying to Install another ROM (CM 10.3 Official & CM 12 Unofficial) its working just fine
Why I couldn't install Slimkat on my device?
Because you are using an out dated recovery, you need at least cwm 6.0.4.4 because KitKat requires selinux support and older recovery doesn't support it, get it from general section of tab 2 and flash it using existing recovery
Hope it works

Thanks! Its working now
But just wondering, I previously using CWM 6.0.2.8 but I can even install CWM 12 which lolipop based
Why it doesnt work on slimkat which based on kitkat? Kitkat is even lower than lolipop

If you read what I typed carefully, KitKat uses selinux, lollipop doesn't,
So you can use any recovery made for your device to flash a lollipop based ROM,
But anyways people are getting trim bug that causes infinite Boot loop without any reason, that's why our supper hero Andi protects us with patches that prevent those things.
