Thanks for paying attention to what the OP asked and contributing meaningful information to this thread.
Now can someone on JB who used to get the crash post their experience? This is one of the things that is keeping me on ICS.

Update... I updated to viper jellybean so I could achieve s-off... Did that successfully, received the maps update today and navigated this afternoon without crashing. Not sure what caused the success, but prior it would crash on me.

I had been having ridiculously high battery usage from maps even without using it, as GSAm battery monitor had been showing (Must have app, btw). Now with the update, apparently this has been fixed. My phone seems to last much longer and maps uses about 1% of battery when it used about 40%.

Tried Gsam not quite sure what it does that Android already have does not. In fact, it claimed that my screen has not consumed any power in the past few hours, but the number one power drained was by my browser. Go figure.
Re: maps got an update
Finally rooted and installed ViperXL last weekend. Google Nav crashed within 30 seconds of starting. Tried it 5-6 more times since with the same results. Maps was updated to latest version. Still having the crashing, but now crashes within 10 seconds of starting. Interestingly, the voice guidance still continues to give directions after Maps has crashed.

There are countless things that can cause this. apps being the most common. Check under applications in the settings menu, and any app that can have it's data cleared, clear it. Mine did that with facebook, so I turned off the facebook sync completely and works fine now.

OP, also give a glance at services. I had an app installed that I hadn't even run a single time, end up running as a service, unbeknownst to me, that was making my keyboard lag badly.
Couldn't figure it out for awhile, since I had never intentionally run the app, and it wasn't showing in list of running apps.
But there it was, in services. Promptly uninstalled. Problem solved.

I reboot my phone every other day or so. That can help clear out old running services that should be running 24/7 also.

If so, interesting coincidence, as the app I mentioned prior post that was causing me problems was wave launcher, which I downloaded just because amazon had it free one day.

I just prefer my apps to wait until I run them at least once before initializing themselves as a service.
None of the popular launchers that I'm aware of, for example, automatically replace your current launcher until you tell it to.

Can someone else who's running VTOK confirm that your phones awake time is almost identical to the uptime? I've noticed the program is running all the time, even though I'm not even signed in to it. I deleted it about half an hour ago & my phone is finally showing that it's not awake all the time.
Is it the program that's running or the service? You know it has to be on for you to receive video chat requests.
Yup, i uninstalling it after it kept my phone awake draining my battery in 3 hours

Don't remember. That's the thing though, I was signed out & didn't want it on unless I knew I was going to make a video call. It starts automatically & ran no matter what.

Been lurking for quite a while now and have had the ATRIX 2 since the day after launch.
I pay pretty close attention to applications and their battery consumption. Today when checking I found that an app named device health application had been running. Does anyone know what this app is? Have google'd it. It didn't find any info.
Thanks!

Thats a good question
It showed that it used 77% of my battery yesterday. If anyone runs across the true name of the app I'd like to know so I can disable it through the package manager.

It's always been <10% batt usage for me until the other day when I noticed it was up around 15%. I selected it in the batt usage screen and it's battery usage appears to be GPS and not so much CPU. It had the GPS on for 25mins total that day. I find this a bit rediculous and decided to just freeze it with Ti Backup. It's now not contributing to CPU usage, and I don't notice the GPS symbol w/o firing an app that uses it. I also haven't noticed any ill effect yet, but I'd be interested in knowing what this thing does.
I suspect it's a moto app for collecting device stats to aid in trouble-shooting issues, but that's just a guess. I'm not a fan of apps out of my control just firing up GPS at their whim. and no, I'm not willing to go full manual and start GPS myself everytime an app needs to use it. My phone works for *me*, not the other way around.
that's interesting. I haven't seen it on my since the day I posted about it. Didn't notice it doing anything with the GPS. I keep mine turned off unless I need it. Will have to check that one out if I ever see it again.

Yeah, you've got something going rogue on you. May be an app, or corrupted app data, or something harder to track down. If it's something you don't mind dealing with, a factory reset may be in order. Otherwise, you would try and see if it's being cause by wakelocks. Using Battery Battery Stats can point you to PWLs or KWLs, but if that yields nothing, the factory reset may be your solution. Sorry, it's hard to give a definitive answer on this.
What version are you on, OTA ICS, Leak 1 or 2, or GB? ROM, if any? When did this start happening, and can it be isolated to any indicator(s), such as opening a certain app, using WiFi, bluetooth, etc?

I can't say for sure that it's a battery issue, seems unrelated to this stage occurrence. I'd have to say it was software related, but if the swapped battery has cleared up the problem, and it decides to reappear, you can try what I suggested above to track down wakelocks. You may still have to resort to factory resetting, but you'll have to be the one to make that determination...

Just got my Nexus 5 after having a Nexus 4 for approximately a year. This is my third or fourth cycle and out of nowhere I'm getting a horrid amount of wakelocks. I usually run Google Now, and have without issue (battery wise) for months and months (at least on my N⁴ running 4.2/.3 AND 4.4). I had Google now on for the first half of the day but it had nearly 80% of battery usage and kept my phone awake relentlessly. Upon shutting it off a few hours ago,I'm still experiencing terrible drain. Can someone give me some insight? I've already rebooted multiple times, cleared cache in Play Services/play store/Google search, etc.
The battery is down to about 30% at 2:30 pm with very little sot (less than an hour) unplugged at 7am at almost 90%. At this point on a regular day I'd have 80% remaining with the same usage on my Nexus 4
Check my screenshots for the bbs stats. These wakelocks are mostly unfamiliar to me.
Thanks in advance for any help.
PS: running latest version of Cataclysm and FK r14.

OK Google is a battery hogging gimmick. It has zero real world purpose. Use Nova/Apex/Action Launcher.

Battery is so bad I'm about to go charge up my old Nexus 4 and use that until this issue is sorted out. At least that won't die on me for a while and I can actually use all the gimmicky goodies.
Even shutting off EVERYTHING on this phone (mobile data, sync, low brightness, Google now, location, device manager, OK Google, etc.) does nothing to improve battery longevity.

Try the reverse then?
Have you Google the "event" wake lock?
Have you tried a (what may seem drastic but actually is not) factory reset?

Ok, did a little research on my phone. Turn off the "ok Google" thing in the Google search bar, just change your language to English UK. That'll get rid of the audio in and a lot if the other stuff.
I think its the new Google search update, I had this issue since the update and uninstalled the updates in the apps section and the problem has gone away.

I just wiped the phone and installed a new ROM and kernel (PSX and Linaro FK 13). Let's see if the problem resolves itself. Will update at the end of today! Thanks everyone for the help but it seems as if Google needs to fix this problem on their end. Well, the same thing happens with pretty much every 4.4 rom I install on my Nexus 4. The only way I was able to fix this craziness is installing Matrix kernel. I have a feeling its some kind of conflict with superuser. My battery was reporting screen on all the time for some reason. And yes, my locations have been turned off and left on GPS only

Hopefully this will fix it for you. It seemed like from the screen shots the app better battery status or whatever it was you were using to analyze your phones state had a lot of wakelocks itself.
If you still have issues I'd try a different app to analyze the problem tho. I still havn't even bothered to root mine yet I'm hitting around 75% after 20 hrs.
if you use the following in combo w/ greenify it helped me huge on my old phone.
