Ok so I've been looking around all over google and XDA for the correct way to install the usb drivers for adb and fastboot from sdk manager(r11) and there are no updated guides out there for the latest r11 sdk program... so here is my quick guide just to clearify how this is done on (Windows Vista/7) PC with Sdk r11!!!
Install Java and SDK
First Install Java jre, jdk... http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html
install programs and restart if required...
Now go visit the SDK site and download latest version (r11).zip... http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
Now unzip file directly to C: drive.. and rename folder to 'android'..
open 'android' folder and run 'sdkmanager.exe' install updates and packages than restart if neccessary..
ADB Driver install...
Now go to your device and enable 'usb debugging' located in settings>applications>development...
Now plug device into computer via usb and DO NOT mount device (storage) to computer!!
Now press START button on computer desktop..
Right-click on 'computer' and select properties..
Now select 'Device Manager' on upper left corner of newly opened window..
Look for device named 'Android' and open selection.. right click on under-link and select 'install drivers' or 'update drivers'...
Now select browse and go to this location than press ok..
C:/(sdk folder)/extras/google/usb_drivers
Now should say driver has been installed correctly..
Test method: Open CMD
cd/
cd (sdk folder)/platform-tools
adb devices
Should see device and number pop-up...
(ADB is located in Platform-tools folder now along with 2 .dll files needed for fastboot to work)
Fastboot Drivers Install
First powe off device, than power on holding (Back+Power)
Now plug usb cable from computer into device..
Do same exact method as 'ADB Driver Install' method..
(Fastboot drivers are located in same folder as ADB drivers)
Now to run fastboot mode in cmd prompt enter this..
cd C://
cd (sdk folder)/platform-tools
Should see device and number pop-up...
Alt method is to copy the 2 .dll files located in 'platform-tools' folder and paste them into 'tools' folder, than fast boot will run correctly off this in cmd prompt...
cd/
cd android/tools
fastboot devices
Should see device and number pop-up...
Also you could just go to ..
C:/android/extras/google in 'windows explorer'
and move the 'usb_drivers' folder to root of sdk folder (android) so then all the older guides out there for installing the drivers would actually kinda make sense.. lol
if i missed anything please feel free to add a comment!!
Edited for brevity: I'm setting up a Galaxy Tab 10.1 Retail with a W7 64 machine.
I completed the ADB section of your guide just fine and went to the Fastboot section. It says to power on using back+power. When I hold power+down volume (only option?) I end up in CWM Recovery.
Should I just power on normally and finish the guide or is there something else I should do?
Thanks for the guide btw

well to install the fastboot driver you need to be in fastboot mode on your device... for the G1 it is back+power...
Ok, I tried it again and I left out a detail (sry). When I power on with pwr+left vol it gives me two icons. One is an Android in a box, which takes me to recovery. The other is an icon that says 'Downloading'.
This time I went to it and now I'm at a screen which says
ODIN3 Download Mode
(Protocal v2)
Reason: Force Key
Secure Mode: Nonsecure
Check Signature: Check
Waiting USB Cable.....
Click to collapse
And then it has a big Android in the middle of the screen with
Downloading.....
Do Not Turn Off Target!!
Click to collapse
written under it.
Ok, I hooked up the USB and went through the steps and typed in the first two commands and am now in CMD at:
C:\Android\platform-tools>
But when I type in the "..\tools\fastboot.exe devices" command it says its not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program, or bath file
Btw, after I connected the USB, I got an additional line of text under "Waiting for USB" that says "===> Connected! Press the [Start] of Odin3!!"
***Update
Ok, so I copied the .dll files into Tools and ran CMD again and this time I at least did not get that error message, but it displayed no output at all, other than to begin another prompt at:
C:\Android\Tools
And that's where I'm at now.
wel uhhmmm this guide is for the G1... lol im not really sure what downloading mode is... if that is your version of fastboot than just follow the B. Instructions for the ADB driver install... the directions are the same exact for both..
Heh. Yeah its all good. I was able to install CWM and Root it, but I would like to get ADB/Fastboot working. Thanks for your help and patience with me
yeah no problem.. sorry if i couldnt help but the only thing i know is how to get it workin on G1 lol
i see many people on the G1 thread with sdk, adb and fastboot issues... FOLLOW THIS GUIDE!!! It is instructions for latest sdk Vr11... i promise this helps..
Thanks for the guide. Been trying to get ADB up & running on Vista with no success. I'll give this a try.
no problem.. sorry if i dont answer questions right away but send me a pm or comment on here and i will try to help as soon as possible!!!

Hi,
I have the same problem:
I manually install the drivers choosen located in extras/google/usb_drivers on device manager
then it say cash: "windows did fond no driver for your device.
I tried with XP SP3, Vista, Seven: always same problem
What is your device, this guide is for the dream but the same steps can be used for other devices, but you need the proper drivers for your device
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Please charge your phone atleast 50% or above before you follow the guide.
I am not providing any screenshots.
Steps:
1. Download all the attached files to this post.
2. Unzip mt65x3 usb vcom drivers.7z and install the drivers.
3. Create a folder in C drive or anywhere you like and unzip SP Flash Tool v2.1134.00.7z.
4. Copy the files MT6573_Android_scatter.txt and boot.img to the folder you created and unzipped the SP Flash Tool v2.1134.00.7z.
5. Open the folder where you extracted SP Flash Tool v2.1134.00.7z and right click on the Flash_tool.exe and run as Administrator.
6. In the Flash tool window, click on File and Open Scatter-loading File and on the pop-up window, select the file MT6573_Android_scatter.txt and click Open
7. A pop-up might appear, click OK and if you see any kind of error, ignore it.
8. A list on the bottom pane should appear of the flash tool window. Uncheck all excet BOOTIMG and click or double click on the BOOTIMG. On the pop-up window, select the boot.img file that you copied earlier and Open.
9. Click on Options of the Flash tool and click USB Mode if not selected.
10. Now you are ready to flash your phone.
11. Switch off your phone and take out the battery. Put your battery back on the phone. Do not switch on. Connect it to your PC with the USB cable without pressing any button on the phone. Now windows should find the drivers and install it. After drivers are installed, unplug the cable from your phone. Take out the battery from the phone and put it back again. Do not switch on.
12. Now on the Flash Tool window click on the Download button. A message will appear on the bottom right of the window 'Please insert USB cable in 14 seconds', with the counter running. While its running, connect your phone to the PC. If you fail to do it, repeat Step 12.
13. When connected properly, you will see a yellow progress bar, after finishing 100% a pop up window will appear saying BOOTIMG downloaded. You are done.
14. Now unplug your phone, take the battery out, put it back and start the phone normally as you do. Let it fully boot. (Nothing should be wrong, cuz nothing happened to mine. I tested it first. Ashik Anwar second.)
15. Enable USB Debugging on your phone and and connect it to the PC.
16. Installing USB ADB Drivers or USB Debugging Drivers:
Unzip usb_driver.zip.
Open 'Device Manager'.
Right click on 'Micromax A50' and click 'Update Driver Software'.
On the new window, click 'Browse my computer for driver software', then click 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'.
Click 'Have Disk'.
On the new Pop-up window, click 'Browse' and go to the folder where you previously unzipped the drivers and open the folder usb_driver.
Now select from the list of files 'android_winusb.inf' and click 'Open', then click 'OK'.
Now from the list of 3 options, select 'Android ADB Interface' and click 'Next'.
An 'Update Driver Warning' will appear, click 'Yes'.
Another Warning will appear asking 'Would you like to install this device software.
Click Install.
Now the drivers should be installed.
17. Now unzip unlockroot23.zip and install the unlockroot23.exe and run the program.
18. Now time to root. On the UnlockRoot window, click ROOT and the program will root it. When finished, it will ask you to restart your phone. So switch it off and switch it on again.
19. Now after you have switched on your phone, browse through the Apps Drawer. You should find an application called Superuser.
You are ROOTED!!!
Still check it by installing an app that needs root permissions, like Root Explorer.
Install BusyBox from PlayStore cuz some programs need it for root access.
Thanx to Varun for providing the modified boot.img and thanx to all the developers for their hard work in cracking and hacking Android for the benefit of the people.
To overclock, Install MTK CPU-Control test from PlayStore. Doesnt need root.
You can overclock upto 806MHz. Enable Set on boot.
Overclock To 754MHz for stability issues.
Enjoy folks!!!
EDIT:
If you are getting error while flashing, repeat the steps.
If you are unable to boot, please flash the original_boot.img
Remember to run the Flash Tool as Administrator
Also the UnlockRoot program as Administrator

So sorry
Been busy
Read this whole website for anything related to Mediatek processors for flashing.
http://bm-smartphone-reviews.blogspot.in/2011/10/mt65x3-flashing-tutorial.html
You need to have a linux machine, Ubuntu, to unpack the boot.img, making unsecure to 1 and the repack it. Flash it back.
I dont have a linux machine anymore.
Searh the net for tutorials.
Bootloader unsecure.
I dont have the time and also aint using the A50 anymore.
Dont mind
Goodluck.

Thanks a lot for a wonderful guide
Can this be done from a linux machine? (Ubuntu for e.g.)
firstly this method is created by sparkym3, I have modified it according to our smart tab 1, here is a link link to original thread:- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1439429
how to:-
this method requires that you should have adb drivers installed on your PC/mac
1. download necessary package from here:- http://www.4shared.com/zip/0Ux1y9L3/root_karbonn_st1_v3.html
2. extract it anywhere on your pc/mac
3. connect your device with pc/mac after enabling debugging from developer option
4. open tpsparky dheeraj (dhlalit11) root.bat
5. after 3-4 seconds of opening tab will automatically reboot and command prompt will show "press any key to continue"
6. wait till tab reboot, then again enable debugging, connect it and press any key
7. tab will again reboot. do the 6th step again
8. this time it will say you are rooted
9. you will be redirected to adb shell if you get # then you are successfully rooted if not then start over
10. you must install superuser to use root else you will get segmentation fault
some notes you should keep in mind:-
1. su supplied in the package is specially compiled for mips, do not replace it with anyone other
2. root is not complete (don't know why), some apps like es file explorer, gamecih may refuse to have root but apps like titanium backup, root dim are working great
3. never mess with busybox, you may have bootloops
to have cwm recovery go here
Click to collapse
Changelog:-
v3
hopefully addressed the " 'adb' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
v2
1. script is more clean and informative
2. changed some lines to fit according to the tab
3. added wait for device command now much more easy
4. contains two separate scripts to install superuser and file manager (only install superuser when you don't have it on the tablet

I cannot seem to install the drivers using .inf files by using most of the methods suggested. How do I install those drivers?
I get an error 'failed to get shell root' if I try to unlock my micromax A73 via using unlockroot.
I also tried using applications like superoneclick, but it does not respond after it reaches 'Shell rooting device - Wait for device'

Hey noob, root dir. means " / " i.e. copy the zip file directly to sdcard (not in any of the subfolder)
Please make a genuine rom all these roms have lots of bugs

Yes!!
Here is my guide to walk you through it.
http://androidforums.com/fusion-2-a...-step-root-walkthrough-huawei-fusion-2-a.html
1.*How do I root my device?
Step 1: Download this file.https://www.dropbox.com/s/pr70fitqpq9c4l6/Huawei-Fusion-2-Recovery-Root.zip
Step 2 ut the Huawei Fusion 2 Recovery Root.zip on your desktop.
Step 3 : Download and install "Huawei Fusion 2 U8665 ADB drivers.rar" from here*https://www.dropbox.com/s/z70julkgz1c9hss/Huawei-Fusion2-U8665-adb-drivers.rarInstall by opening .rar and running "DriverSetup.exe".
Step 4 :Make a folder called "Huawei Fusion 2" on your desktop.
Step 5 :Extract Zip from step 2 into your fusion 2 folder.
Step 6 :Turn off phone.
Step 7 :Reboot fastboot by holding Volume Down and Power buttons simultaneously for 10-20 seconds.(It will freeze at ATT logo. This is fastboot, it's a freeze to be happy about)
Step 8 :Connect phone to computer.
Step 9 : Open the folder you made and open the extracted zip (if you haven't extracted do this now)
Step 10 : Double click "Run Me"
Step 11 :Type "fastboot devices" and hit enter this will confirm if you are connected via fastboot (you are) if your connected it will list some numbers and letters and the words fastboot next to the numbers and letters.
Step 12 :Now flash modified recovery by typing "fastboot flash recovery recovery.superrecovery.img" into the "run me" window and hitting enter.
Step 13 :Unplug after the process runs says finished. And gives you the total time.*
Step 14 :Remove back of phone and take out battery for 10-15 seconds.
Step 15 :Reinsert battery hold volume up and power button simultaneously until it boots into recovery (15-20 seconds of holding both buttons)
Step 16 :Reboot Device by selecting the "reboot device" option with the volume buttons (it should already start with reboot highlighted) so just press the power button to reboot.
Step 17 :Grab a beer and relax as your device reboots with SuperSU (main root app)!Enjoy and thanks to robotic buddy for initial guide and download links, also special thanks to RFE for the 1st Root method on the Huawei Fusion 2!
*********IF IT SAYS WAITING FOR DEVICE, IT IS ONE OF FOUR THINGS; 1) YOU DID NOT PUT THE PHONE INTO FASTBOOT CORRECTLY GO AHEAD AND REPEAT STEP 7 THEN RETRY, 2) YOU SIMPLY NEED TO UNPLUG AND REPLUG PHONE AND WAIT APPROXIMATELY 25-30 SECONDS (SHOULD HAPPEN IMMEDIATELY UNLESS DRIVERS WHERE INSTALLED INCORRECTLY), 3) INCORRECTLY INSTALLED ADB DRIVERS, REINSTALL THE ADB DRIVERS FROM STEP 3, 4) YOU DID NOT NAME THE FOLDERS CORRECTLY, OR DIRECTED THE CMD TERMINAL TO THE WRONG FOLDER, MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW EVERY STEP TO A T INCLUDING CAPITALIZATIONS, SYMBOLS, AND SPACES OF FOLDERS AND CMD PROMPTS*********
It works!!!!!! Thank you!!
hit the thumbs up!

Will this work on u8652 ? do you need specific files for this phone?
Thanks BK
Try this,
Step 1. http://androidforums.com/huawei-son...nmod-7-2-zad-rom-v-1-5huawei-u8650-sonic.html
Download and unzip the "Drivers Huawei (adb drivers)" to your desktop and install the drivers. Also download and unzip the "Custom CM Recovery" to your desktop as you will need it later.
Step 2. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321582
Create a folder named DooMLoRD-v4 on your desktop and Download DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su.zip and unzip it to that folder.
Put your phone into USB debugging mode and run the "runme" batch file in the DooMLoRD-v4 folder on your desktop. When done your phone should be rooted.
Step 3. Open the Custom CM Recovery folder and run the "Instalador" batch file
you now should have a rooted AT&T Fusion with ClockworkMod Recovery installed on it.
Step 4. http://androidforums.com/huawei-son...nmod-7-2-zad-rom-v-1-5huawei-u8650-sonic.html
Scroll down and you will find two custom roms that you can download and install on your phone with CM Recovery. Before you install open up the "system" folder and open the build.prop file in notepad once opened go to edit and in the drop down you should see a replace option. Replace "u8650" with "u8652" so that in your info your phone will have the right model number and save it.

I fist of all would like to thank you for your time and effort. I hit runnme and got some interesting things coming across the terminal
something about adb oudated
rom is read only
superuser failed to install
I wish i could copy the terminal data so you could see whats going on.
Is this supposed to work with 2.3.6 android?
I am going to try to find another driver and try again if anything comes to mind let me know.
Thanks BK
reloaded driver
Ok I reloaded the driver which was ok all along. Reran the doomlords app and this is what I get on the terminal.
mount: permission denied ( are you root? )
system\xbin\busybox cannot open for write
busybox not found
link failed
failed to copy superuser
Is this permission to write needing the bootloader to be unlocked? If so how do I do that?
Thanks BK
Possibly the Wrong root method..
