Hello!
I recently purchased my OTG cable for my droid razr maxx hd and plugin and play worked for mouse and keyboard, but I want to get a thubdrive to work with it too. the app "Nexus Photo Viewer" works for read only. Anyone have any other apps/methods I can use? I'd rather not root my phone though. Thanks!

Just as the title suggest has anyone successfully attached a HD 2.5 drive to the TF using a USB coupler to the tablet? I have a Seagate Go Flex 500 gb 2.5 drive but since the tablet itself has no usb port to attach the HD I would need a USB coupler to connect the cables, would the tablet's proprietary cable supply power and even recognize the HD using a coupler?
Please advise.
Edit: Nevermind me... misread.
I don't think it will work.
There is a thread in general you could search for with a list of usb devices people have tried to use without the dock.

Yeah, just checked out that thread, doesn't look like any HD connected with a coupler works, I am not sure about the dock but I remember some guy on utube was able to via the dock. I am planning to get the dock after 2 years when the batt on the tab wanes, no big deal, would have been nice having an HD attached without said dock.
anyone could tell me if the usb On The Go works on the Razr Maxx an the Razr Maxx HD i have a Maxx and usb otg but since didn't reconize a galaxy S2 i think is broken. I want to buy the Razr Maxx HD but i need usb OTG.
USB OTG works for me. Have used a keyboard and a thumb drive with no issues.

Please tell me if you used a otg cable or the dock.
I use a otg cable, works fine, even used an unpowered USB hub without issue.

I have a Droid Razr Maxx HD and just ordered a USB OTG cable. Do I need to root the phone in order to read an SD card (formatted for use in a camera)?
OTG wroks perfect in my Razr HD. I tested with keyboard, mouse, and flash drive.
But I could not configure a controller, I've tried generic gamepad, and the PS3 original controller (Dualshock 3).
I've heard, that the Xbox controller should works fine... Any one have a Xbox controller and a Razr HD to test?

I'll get a USB OTG and try with my hardwired Xbox controller. Any suggestions on a good OTG cable?
Can you charge the Razr HD while it is in OTG mode, using an OTG Y Cable?
I want to purchase a cheap phone for use as a media/gaming hub,I have my eyes set on a Droid x2 since im selling my atrix 2 and my droid 3 doesnt have sound over hdmi...
My plan is toload it with videos and emulators and roms and use my xbox controller to play games on my hd screen.
would this set up work? a phone that has an hdmi cord, usb to otg and a power cord plugged in at the same time?
I was just going to use the usb otg cord and a usb splitter, maybe a powered one.
I want to make sure before I buy the splitter and not waste any money.Im guessing if it works on a droid 3 or atrix 2 it should work on a droid x2,could be wrong.
Thanks.
I want to be able to watch Netflix on my Moto G on the tv via HDMI but I'm not sure what cable I need.
I bought a micro HDMI to HDMI cable but that doesn't appear to fit.
I've had a look at Micro USB to HDMI cables but they all seem to say theyre for other devices like the Samsung Galaxies.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Moto G has no video output via cable. You can use DLNA or Miracast to wirelessly stream your media to your TV. If your TV does not support this, there are options like Chromecast(only works with some apps yet) or any Miracast HDMI dongle, that actually streams the screen and audio of your phone to your TV. I hope this helps, good luck.
I have tried Miracast to my LG Smart TV, utilising the hack on 4.3......
although it attempts connection, which shows via pop-up on the TV, it does not connect at least not for me.....
I will try again after I upgrade to KK....
apparently the screen cast option is available natively.

I found a keyboard on eBay that connects via micro USB, and it is meant to be used with a generic 7inches tablet. Before buying it I would like to be sure that the fire tablet has no limitations on the micro USB port, can anyone help me? I couldn't find a sure answer on google
this tablet supports USB OTG which means you CAN connect a pen drive, mouse, keyboard.. and I am almost 100% sure you can connect this keyboard BUT you may have problems with recognizing all keys on the keyboard or problems with different typing languages.. I guess you need to try it to know for sure.. and please let us know if you do..

Two success stories:
- Connected an inexpensive wired USB keyboard via cheap OTG adapter (here). Keyboard instantly/silently recognized. No soft keyboard on input fields. Disconnect the physical keyboard and soft keyboard immediately pops up. Elegant and effortless.
- Grabbed a wireless Logitech K360 attaching receiver to same OTG adapter. Worked perfectly! Instant wireless keyboard. No messing around with Bluetooth. Woohoo!!
I realize this is old news to anyone with a 'normal' tablet that natively supports OTG. First time I got it to work with a Fire (my daily driver is a HDX with lacks hardware support for OTG).
I've been using a Samsung BKB-10 bluetooth keyboard, which I grabbed for $10 on at&t's website a few weeks ago, and it works great!! Every button works.
I am running CM 12.1, so I can't vouch for the stock firmware, but it does work excellent on the CM rom posted here!!
Yes, I use a USB Hub and various devices at the same time on my Fire 7. All of them work - at the same time.
You can hook up a Keyboard and a mouse and a usb stick and a printer, that all of them will work just fine.
USB-OTG is beautiful.
Can you give more detail on the usb hub? I guess you need it to provide power and data pass through, but I can only find one or the other online

Can not power (charge) and use OTG devices simultaneously. It's one or the other.
